Okay, DOF listeners, buckle up. We are about to learn so much about discrimination in the housing market in the US. Gene Slater has served as senior advisor on housing for federal, state, and local agencies for over forty years. Gene co-founded and chairs CSG Advisors, a long-time leading advisor on affordable housing. In the aftermath of the financial crisis in 2009, Gene helped design the program by which the United States Treasury financed homes for 110,000 first-time buyers. Gene has earned college degrees from Columbia, MIT, and Stanford. The book that I am excited to talk about today is “Freedom to Discriminate: How Realtors Conspired to Segregate Housing and Divide America.” This book is scheduled to be released this month, September 2021, and has rave reviews from experts in these fields. Let’s jump in!
