dokupied podcast - anime, manga, light novels, industry news

I usually go by dokupe online. I used to work for an anime production company in Tokyo, Pony Canyon. Now I’m back to just being a long time fan. dokupied is my podcast where I talk about mainly anime, manga, light novels, and industry news. And occasionally other people join me as guest co-hosts. https://podcast.dokupe.com

This episode I talk about a cute and awkward new romcom story by the author of Mitsudomoe. I love the dynamic between the leads and all the facial expressions/reactions. Have you checked this manga out yet? I don’t doubt it’ll get an anime in the next few years.

SAO is a huge franchise that you most likely have some exposure to already, but SAO Progressive is an expanded retelling of the first arc, Aincrad, and the movie is based on that. It also mainly focuses on Asuna, rather than Kirito, as the main POV, which gives the whole thing a fresh new feel. I’m very excited to see how the Progressive movies continue!

Anime Movie Recommendation: Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a...

I don't really need an excuse to rave about one of my favorite light novel series again, but here's an update on it through halfway into part 4 of the story (volume 16). I gave a ton of warnings at the start about spoilers and what context I was going to be discussing the series from, but after finishing it, I don't think I spoiled all that much and talked in broad enough strokes that it should be mostly fine. I finally got around to watching the Netflix Original (a real one) anime series, Eden. I enjoyed it, but it definitely has its flaws, that mostly stem from the short 4 episode runtime and fairly common scifi theme. Not the soundtrack by Kevin Penkin though. That was beautiful!
