In this episode, show host Kelly Jackson shares a deeply personal experience that dramatically shifted her perspective on life. Confronted with how quickly circumstances can change, Kelly realized the importance of living in the moment. This pivotal event prompted her to reconsider how she was approaching her daily life, allowing her to focus on enjoying the present rather than letting life pass by unnoticed. Join Kelly as she explores the profound transformation that came from learning to appreciate the here and now.

From this episode:

  • "I knew I couldn't rewrite the past, but I realized that I could hold the pen and write a completely new future, a totally new story. It was not too late and I was not too old to start over"
  • "If I was to channel all my energy on who I was becoming, I could create a brand new life for myself and my family. And then I could come out on the other side and light the way for others to do the same."
  • "...if you want something you've never had, you have to do something you've never done."
  • "I've literally changed my entire life, changed my chemical makeup, my DNA, by changing my thoughts."
  • "Do you hear what I'm saying, friends? That when I changed the world within me, the world around me changed, too."
  • "...when you wake up every day thinking there must be more to life than this, then I assure you there is."

Notes and Considerations:

  • The original first episode was actually recorded in March 2020, despite the fact that I repeatedly say it's from early 2021 in this show! whoopsie;)
  • When listing sports I played in high school, I said football—guys...I didn't play football!!  The transcript says (and I actually played) softball! whoopsie again;)
  • I mentioned my absolute favorite book of all time, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. If you don't already have this book, you can get your very own copy here!
