John Stuart Mill ist ein richtiger „Klassiker“ zum Thema Meinungsfreiheit. Er argumentiert, dass es die Welt insgesamt besser macht, wenn möglichst alle Menschen möglichst ungehindert ihre Meinung sagen dürfen, egal wie absurd oder abwegig diese Meinung ist. Er will zeigen: Selbst wenn meine Meinung die „herrschende“ ist, selbst dann wäre es besser für mich selbst, wenn abweichende Meinungen erlaubt sind.
In der heutigen Episode erkläre ich sein Argument in Grundzügen und ordne es danach – ganz kurz – kritisch ein.
