From unimaginable heartbreak came an annual event inMenomonie. January 17th will be the eighth annual Braxton’s BobberBash ice fishing tournament on Lake Menomin, which raises awareness of stillbirth deaths and money for Halos of The St. Croix Valley.
Organizers Amanda and Chris share insight into the namesake of this event, Braxton, their son who was born without a heartbeat just one week before his scheduled delivery. We also learn about the wonderful Halos organization, which assists families going through traumatic experiences and how their support guided Amanda and Chris through difficult decisions in thehours after their son’s death.
As no parent is ever prepared for the death of their child, Halos is able to step in and offer resources and guidance beginning with the funeral planning process and long after with ongoing grief support.
