Octavius Real (00:00):
As a palliative parent, it's an easy step to be

(00:02):
like, okay, I can change theenvironment. I can change the
frequency. I can do that. Idon't need a prescription. I
don't need to go through themedical system.
I don't need to go through pilesand piles of research. It's
noninvasive. You know, we're notputting anything to the body. It
can only help see that as theultimate cheat sheet, but then
there's other things, and it's amix between psychological and
self care.

Michael Scalar (00:22):
You're tuned in to Everything's Energy Show or
EE Show. I'm Michael Scalar, your host. Today, I have Sean
Murphy. He is an entrepreneur,an investor, and an advocate for
both energy wellness andpalliative end of life care. So
thank you for joining us.

Octavius Real (00:36):
It's great to be here, Michael.

Michael Scalar (00:37):
I I wanna dive into the the congressional part
where you actually spoke beforecongress on energy wellness, but
I kinda wanna open the door forhow did you get into the energy
wellness field? I I mean, youyou stepped through the door at
some point and found it. Whatgot you excited about it? What
made you come to the light side?Because there's obviously the
dark side of, you know, more ofthe pharmaceutical, which has

(00:58):
its place in places.
I won't completely poo poo it.But how did you get to the
energy side?

Octavius Real (01:03):
It's a long journey. But to keep it short,
Michael, I started many yearsago in palliative end of life
care in the VA as a hospicevolunteer. I would go in with my
mentor, we would visit veteransin hospices, and I started to
understand what that modellooked like, what health care

(01:26):
looked like in the VA. As thingswent along, I was an advocate
for that, for Veterans, and myjourney led to becoming a dad,
where I have a son with a veryserious brain disease. And a lot
of those things that I learnedadvocating for veterans and
palliative end of life care cameto bear on that with my son.

(01:48):
As things went along, every drugwas thrown at him along the way.
And I just I saw how the healthcare system is built around
pharmaceuticals Yeah. And drugs. And every time he would get sick
or there was some issue goingon, the it was what drug can we
give him to fix this problem.

Michael Scalar (02:10):
And no no drug is you can't drug someone back
to life, typically. YouTypically a patch. You can't.
Yeah.

Octavius Real (02:16):
You can't. And you can you can drug them and
and and manage them in that way.And and as and as he, you know,
as he's gotten sicker anddeclined, I was I've been left
with the situation where therereally isn't another option.
There there isn't another thereisn't a drug. There's a hopeful

(02:37):
miracle drug, but I know toomuch about it and where he's
advanced in his disease for itto help.
So it it was really kind ofthrough that necessity that I
started looking at sound andlight therapies. I ran a
business years ago that was inthe cannabis, hemp, and
cannabinoid industry. So I hadalso had that experience looking

(02:59):
at complementary alternativemodels with cannabinoids, but it
wasn't until things were at thatpoint with my son where
everything had been blocked.Know, CBD, blocked. Chiropractic
care, blocked.
All of these modalities that Ibrought forward, both the
doctors at Children's Hospitaland his mom, they shut them

(03:19):
down. So it was really bynecessity that I came to look at
energy medicine, and it's reallybecome like a calling in that
way that this is this is what'sat the end of the road when
people realize, what are wereally? We're electrical beings.
Mhmm. You know, we're notchemical beings to be filled
with drugs and pharmaceuticals, but we're electrical beings.

(03:40):
And that was something that Ilooked at with my son to say,
what what is out there and whatare the modalities, the sound
and light treatments, therapies, technologies, and things that I
had known about, and learnedabout that could help him. And
that's that's what led me intothis, and that's what led me to
learning about what was going onwith EE system. I'd I had known

(04:01):
for some time about EE system. Imet Sandra, doctor Sandra
Michael Rose, your mom Mhmm.Years ago.
I think it was 2011, and thatwas my first exposure to EE
system. You know, that's notyesterday. That's, like, a while
ago. A while ago. You got yougot you know, you guys have been
around.
You and I had lost touch overthe years with what was going on

(04:25):
with with you and EE system.

Michael Scalar (04:26):
But You had your hands full with a lot

Octavius Real (04:27):
of fans. I had a lot going on. But Yeah. But when
Atlas Atlas is my son. When Howold is Atlas?
Atlas is seven and a half now.Seven and a half now. And as it
got to the point in the last sixmonths where, you know, he's
just gotten worse and worse andsicker and he has really bad
reflux and, you know, starts tohave these choking episodes

(04:48):
where, you know, choking on hisown body.

Michael Scalar (04:50):
That's gotta be really painful to watch

Octavius Real (04:52):
as a parent. It's it's definitely anyone, even
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's just it'stotally devastating.
And, that's where I startedlooking at what what are the
sound and light, you know, options out there. And, you
know, I've I've looked atdifferent, you know, there's
different music modalities, different hertz. There's, you
know, frequency beds. And thatwas what brought me back around

(05:15):
to EE system to be like, hey. This is something that I wanna I
wanna I wanna try.

Michael Scalar (05:21):
So you you were probably adamantly attacked by
the doctors for trying to pullhim out of things that weren't
working. Correct?

Octavius Real (05:28):
Not in that way.

Michael Scalar (05:30):
No?

Octavius Real (05:30):
What I've done is I I think of myself and the term
that I use because I don't knowwhat other term there is is a
palliative parent or palliativefather where there's there's
there's not really a a quote, acure that I'm advocating for,
but it's like, are those optionsthat are gonna help improve his
quality of life? Absolutely.Yeah. What are those things that

(05:51):
are gonna help him have a betterday or reduce some of the
symptoms? And so thinking aslike a palliative father, I
thought, okay.
All of these things I'm bringingforward, you know, whether it
was CBD, chiropractic, there wassome stuff with, like, vagal
nerve stimulation.

Michael Scalar (06:06):
Okay.

Octavius Real (06:06):
I mean

Michael Scalar (06:07):
So you did you did you throw the kitchen sink
at him?

Octavius Real (06:09):
I I have, like, this list of 13 things.

Michael Scalar (06:12):
What what worked? What didn't work?

Octavius Real (06:14):
Nothing has worked.

Michael Scalar (06:15):
Nothing has worked.

Octavius Real (06:15):
They've they've shut it all down. Yeah. If the
the Children's Hospitalpediatrician doesn't back it and
his mom, who's the the solemedical decision maker Mhmm.
Because I pushed back on onvaccines years ago. Said, hey.
We should wait. We should take alook at this. And they seized on
that. And they're like, you'rean anti vaxxer. You're a

(06:37):
conspiracy theorist.
And that was the leverage theyused to ultimately take control
medically. Wow. So she's thedecision maker. So really, I'm
I'm an advocate as a parent. I'mlike, here are some here's
something we should look at.
Why don't we try this? Here'sthe safety profile. And they
won't let you. And they'veblocked everything. So
everything.
Everything. Wow. Everything. Andlike I had a background in in

(06:57):
the CBD industry. I I I wrotethe first reports on the CBD
industry, like, looking at whatcompanies were coming out with
hemp derived products, and itwas it's been devastating to be
like, wait.
I have this whole expertise foryears. Sold this company, built
it up, you know, did the did allthe reporting on research to
where I was like, wait. I justwanna help my child with this

(07:18):
stuff. Right. And it's beenblocked.
But what makes energeticmedicine unique is you don't
need a prescription. No. Youdon't don't need a

Michael Scalar (07:27):
you don't need doctor. Permission.

Octavius Real (07:29):
I don't I don't need I don't need I don't need
that

Michael Scalar (07:33):
Oh, good.

Octavius Real (07:33):
For him to be on a on a on a sound frequency bed.
I don't need I don't need thatfor him to be in an EE system
field. Mhmm. You know, I don'tneed that to play different
tonal frequencies. It it it'sit's been this thing where when
everything else was taken awayor blocked or denied, I was
like, this is this is whatremains.

(07:54):
And it's not something that'sgonna, quote, cure his brain
disease. Mhmm. And I'm not I'mnot here saying that this is,
like, the cure for the braindisease. But You're just trying

Michael Scalar (08:03):
to create a quality of life to some extent.

Octavius Real (08:05):
Yeah. Right. Quality of life. And sometimes
that's symptom reduction orsometimes that's just not having
one of these events

Michael Scalar (08:12):
Yeah.

Octavius Real (08:12):
That'll end up in the ER. And then, you know, it
just it's, wrecks days, youknow, of of life when he ends up
in the yard. And it's all thesetests get run, and nobody ever
really figures anything out.

Michael Scalar (08:24):
So how how did you come back to finding EE
system after over a decade?

Octavius Real (08:28):
Well, I I just started thinking. Like, what Who
do I know? Who do I know? Whatcan I look into? And I really
ended up in that the the boxthat I thought about was sound
and light therapies.
Mhmm. What's out there? Whatwhat I kinda looked at what have
I been using. I I did a lot of,like, essential oils, you know,

(08:50):
much more like smell, you know, like, kind of his he he can't
Atlas can't walk. He's fully ina wheelchair, losing all his
mobility.
So, like, I would get, like, lavender scented oil and just
kinda, like, rub his legs. Mhmm.So I kinda started saying,
alright. We have sound, light, smell, like, all of these
things. And then I was like, okay.

(09:10):
You know? E system. I thoughtback years ago. I was like,
might as well. Might as wellmight as well look into it.
It's safe. The safety profile isthere. And as a palliative
parent, a lot of times, that'sthe calculation is safety and
efficacy.

Michael Scalar (09:29):
Right. You don't wanna try something that just
came out and they're making boldclaims and being like, well, we
can do all these things. Right.Right. Bullet.
It's yeah. That's the nice thingis we do have a couple decades
of safety protocol.

Octavius Real (09:39):
Right. Yeah. Right. It always starts with
safety, right, especially withkids. Mhmm.
And having a terminal disease, the other the other term, and
this was something I talked tothe doctors about, was right to
try. Right? Like, if you have aterminal disease as a patient,
you have a right to try things.

Michael Scalar (09:59):
Is it did you bring this up after getting poo
pooed for a while?

Octavius Real (10:03):
I brought up in an appointment eight months ago,
six to eight months ago

Michael Scalar (10:09):
Wow.

Octavius Real (10:09):
That, hey, Atlas has a right to try these things.
Yeah. If they're safe and thiswas my list of 10 to 12
complementary alternatives, CBD,chiropractic, vagal nerve
stimulation. I said, he has aright to try this. And the
response from the thepediatrician was, are you
threatening me?
Oh my god. And I

Michael Scalar (10:30):
was like, That is so laughable. That's
disgusting.

Octavius Real (10:34):
I know. It's laughable until you're like,
we're really talking about hislife. Yeah.

Michael Scalar (10:37):
And his quality that he would say that. It's
disgusting.

Octavius Real (10:40):
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She said it. And then and then
at that point, when I I pressed,I was like, well, what about
CBD?
Like because I I knew I know thescience. It's neuroprotective.
It's Pain control. Yeah. Andit's been passed.
Epidiolex is a CBD drug. It'snot scheduled. And I was like,

(11:00):
it's for seizures. It's forpediatric seizures. It's for
kids.
It's it's safe. The FDA hasshown that isolate CBD is safe
for neuro children. So I waslike, okay. This is safe. So I
and when I pressed her on it,and I was like, but this is
safe.
CBD. CBD. It got to the pointthat she walked out. Wow. Like,
walked out of the appointment.

Michael Scalar (11:21):
Probably too cheap a thing. They wanna go to
the more expensive side ofthings.

Octavius Real (11:24):
Yeah. So after the appointment walkout, that's
when I doubled down on, okay. These things are not going
anywhere. What are what are theenergetic frequency sound and
light options? And it it alwaysstarts with safety.
Right? Because if something'ssafe and proven to be safe, then
if it's truly a palliativesituation, you you don't have a

(11:46):
lot to lose. Right? If it'ssafe, why wouldn't we try it?
And that's been my position as apalliative father is if we know
something is safe, if it'sproven safe or or reasonably so,
why wouldn't why wouldn't we tryit to help him if it's not gonna
be a burden or create otherissues in any way?
And and energetic medicine, like, fits that to the tee.

(12:08):
Like, sit in this field.

Michael Scalar (12:10):
Yeah. So you ended up picking up an EE cube
at some point.

Octavius Real (12:13):
I'm a cube owner. I I it was actually there's a
story here. Should we talk aboutthe story?

Michael Scalar (12:19):
Yeah. Let's go for the story.

Octavius Real (12:20):
Okay. Here we are. A little bit of the story
time. It's it's it's a miraclestory, but not a traditional
healing miracle story. It's alittle bit different.
But

Michael Scalar (12:29):
I actually don't know the story. So for those
watching, this is fresh for metoo.

Octavius Real (12:32):
Yeah. And I've and I've never told it publicly.
So here we go. Let's do it. I soI got the cube.
This was last. It was inDecember. It was right before,
Christmas, and my dad was gonnabe there, and I had Atlas
coming. And I was like, hey. I'mgonna have him here for a couple

(12:52):
of days.
Get the cube to me. And so I gotin touch with with your team,
the Esystem team. I was like,guys, I I I need the cube. I
need it here by this time. Sendit.
Right? And you guys package itup really quickly. You know, it
arrived in a couple of days, andI got it put together the day
that he arrived for ourChristmas time together, the

(13:12):
holiday time, and put ittogether. My dad was there, so
we have, like, the threegenerations. You know?
Grandparent, dad, son, and

Michael Scalar (13:21):
Teamwork.

Octavius Real (13:21):
Teamwork. You know, we're all there. And we
have this this this frequencybed. It's it's called a
Clinique, and this is somethingthat Mhmm. That Daniel Brinkley
developed, you know, decadesago.

Michael Scalar (13:34):
Okay.

Octavius Real (13:34):
And I have one of the one of the prototype ones.
And I ended up getting it fromone of the guys that made one of
the versions. So I I have itthere with the EE system and the
cube all put together. And itwas this thing where, hey. You
know, the three of us, we'regetting on the clin e.
We're we're there with the EEsystem. We're in the field. You
know, we're we're looking forthat electrical coherence Mhmm.

(13:57):
In our state. And we all allthree go through it, and it
wasn't like we woke up the nextday and some, quote, miracle
happened, but we end up going tothis big holiday.
You know, it was kinda like akinda like a market. This was in
Denver. It's like a big marketkinda downtown where everybody's
showing up at all these booths. You know? You know, get your hot

(14:18):
chocolate or Mhmm.
You know, look at the lights onthe tree or whatever. And and
Atlas wanted to go see thedrones. There was a drone show
overhead. So I was like, we'regonna go see the drones, the
three boys. You know?
We're gonna go check out thedrone shows. And it was cool.
So, like, we're we're movingthrough the crowd. The drone
show is starting. You know, can't see because he's in the
wheelchair, so we're kinda, like, trying to get to a spot
that he can see.

(14:39):
And out of nowhere, I see thiswoman. She's wearing this hat,
and I'm like and she sees me.She looks at Atlas. It's the
pediatrician. The one that Ijust told you about.
The one that has, like, blockedeverything. Yeah. Yeah. The one
that walked out of theappointment, like, weeks before
that.

Michael Scalar (14:57):
Wow.

Octavius Real (14:57):
And she and, like, she sees us and it you
know, it's like this look on herface of, like, woah. What's
going on? And I don't know ifshe expected me to, like, lay in
on her or, you know, like, beanything other than just chill.
But we were just like, hey. Youknow, it's it's good to see you.
She's like, Atlas, is that you?And there was this very palpable

(15:17):
feeling of the, like it was likeshe just saw us, like, just
being three, you know, father, son, grandson, just three guys
out in the world just doing whateveryone else does. Mhmm. There
was no no animosity. No, like, trying very human effect in

Michael Scalar (15:33):
in actual human effect versus, like, the
clinical

Octavius Real (15:36):
Very yeah. The clinical where she's all and and
and it had been heated. Like, you know, she she had gotten out
of the appointment. She hadsaid, you know, are you
threatening me when I brought upright to try? So, like, we had
had we have a history.

Michael Scalar (15:47):
Right.

Octavius Real (15:48):
Her and I. Like, she's she's like the ultimate
pediatrician in the system, andI'm like the the dad that's
like, what can we work withoutside?

Michael Scalar (15:57):
Woo woo dad. Yeah.

Octavius Real (15:58):
And nobody would say I'm crazy or woo woo, but
they would

Michael Scalar (16:01):
say mind to kinda

Octavius Real (16:02):
Well, they would say that he's not gonna follow
our drug playbook.

Michael Scalar (16:06):
Right.

Octavius Real (16:06):
He's not gonna just You're the rule breaker.
Well, I'm the guy that's like, what else is there? Yeah. You
know, why don't we look at this?Well, we can't recommend that.
Well, I know why they can'trecommend CBD. That's because
marijuana is still a scheduleone drug, and they can't
recommend schedule one drugs. Sothen it becomes a matter of,
well, you have to see someoneoutside of children's hospital,
but his mom won't allow that.Oh, wow. So he keeps it locked

(16:27):
in.

Michael Scalar (16:28):
But you don't even get high off CBD. It's not
really a drug. It's more of acompound.

Octavius Real (16:33):
I mean, all drugs are compounds in that way.

Michael Scalar (16:35):
Right? Okay. It's no longer compound.

Octavius Real (16:37):
It's no. It's not psychedelic. So it would just
seem so obvious. Like, whywouldn't you try it? It's safe.
Why wouldn't you try it? Butit's become a situation where
just anything that I advocatefor, it seems to just be the
kiss of death.

Michael Scalar (16:50):
Right.

Octavius Real (16:50):
Thus, we don't do it according to Children's
Hospital and his mom justbecause it's something I'm
bringing forward.

Michael Scalar (16:56):
Alright. So let's get back to the topic what
you were going into

Octavius Real (16:58):
We're still in story. Haven't forgotten the You
know, that's the backstory tothe story. So we see her. It's
kind of a brief exchange, youknow, and then Atlas and I kind
of look at each other, and Ilook at him, and he kinda gives
me that look like, you know, youknow, come on down already or,
like Where's

Michael Scalar (17:14):
the drones?

Octavius Real (17:15):
Like, move on. Move on. Like, yeah. Where are
the drones? Like, this you know, forget her kinda thing.
Like, we're here to see thedrone. So, you know, we we say
goodbye. It's fine. It'scordial. But there's, like, this
I can only explain it, and Ithink people that deal with
energetic medicine can kinda getthis.
But there's this this feeling orthis emotional affect to the
moment of, like, something justhappened here. Like, something

(17:36):
just went down even though itdidn't wouldn't have appeared to
anybody watching it that it was

Michael Scalar (17:40):
The Matrix reorganized.

Octavius Real (17:41):
The Matrix something happened. Right? And
and I and I really I thoughtabout that then the next day
because it was like, okay, whatwere the chances of that? I
mean, I had never seen any ofhis doctors in public over seven
and a half years. He's got like17 doctors at Children's
Hospital.
I've never seen any of them inpublic in Denver. Never. And

(18:03):
here we see her the day, reallythe afternoon, evening, after I
installed and put the cube intoaction.

Michael Scalar (18:12):
Right.

Octavius Real (18:13):
And I just thought, you know, what are the
person controlling his hismedical care we see here and
have that moment? And so it justkinda sits with me, absorb it,
and the three of us are good. You know, we're we're hanging
out. We're we're in the field. We're we're going for that
electrical coherence Mhmm.
That we talk about when, youknow, you're in an EE system

(18:34):
field. And and my dad said itreally well. He's like, you
know, Atlas was as good as hecould have been over that time,
and we were as good for him andto him as we could have been.
And it was it was just awonderful Christmas holiday. He
he didn't really throw up atall, and it was tremendous
quality of life, like, the thething we're going for.
And I'm thinking about it. Youknow, what are the chances of

(18:56):
the pediatrician? What's gonnahappen? And then there's this
appointment about, you know, twoweeks later, a little bit after
Christmas, after the New Year, with the pediatrician because
now they've given Atlas a fluvaccine. He's having this eczema
outbreak.
And I'm like, come on. You'regiving him a Negative. Why?
You're giving him aninflammatory vaccine, and he's

(19:17):
having an inflammatory reaction. And but I can't get into that
too much because then they'realways like, you're just against
vaccines.
I'm like, no. Here's what I'mobserving. You gave him a
vaccine for the flu, and now hehas eczema, and he's ending up
in the ER in the hospital. I'mlike, this is what's going on.
So we end up having thisappointment, and the the
pediatrician, she's she'stypically, you know, upbeat.

(19:40):
You know, she's on the job. She's very engaged. She's
moving, the care forward. Andshe just she looked wrecked. You
know?
She just came onto the screen. It was telehealth. And she
looked like just beaten down. You know? It was like, you know,
her own the way that she lookedat herself or the way she was
looking at me had totallychanged.

(20:00):
I wasn't this dad that showed upto just be a problem. It was
like we were just normal, normalfather, son, grandson out and
about. It was and it was likethey they saw who they're doing
to.

Michael Scalar (20:13):
Interesting.

Octavius Real (20:14):
And and it and it just changed the whole dynamic.
It's not like everything aboutit became instantly positive,
but it was like the one personthat's been controlling the
whole thing. She was a she kindof was a shadow of herself. And
I don't know where that's goingto lead, but it it certainly
changed the dynamic that allit's been is resistance and and

(20:37):
problems. And I had anotherneurologist that he literally
yelled at me in an appointmentwhen I brought up CBD again.
We're not going to talk aboutthat anymore. I don't want to.
And it's like, eventually thesedoctors know that what I'm
asking for is they they justwon't do it for whatever their

(20:57):
reasons are. And I think shejust saw the the truth that,
hey, this this guy, this dad,he's he's just just a normal dad
trying to help his child, andwe're we're stopping that. We're
not helping him help his child.
Yeah. Quite the opposite. And Ithink it I had an internal
impact on her. And just the wayshe presented and showed up, it

(21:18):
was like she looked rocked. AndI thought, hell, yeah.
I thought, hell, yeah. You guysdeserve this. You guys deserve
to see the truth and what it'slike when you're on the front
lines fighting for a child'slife Mhmm. And what it's been
like with all the stuff theyblocked. And and I attribute it
to the system.

(21:38):
Like, that was that was if Ilooked objectively, like, what
did I do differently? What wasset up? You know, what happened?
That was put in motion the nightbefore. And then the next day,
we go to the thing and see her.
I mean, it was a crowd ofthousands of people. Like

Michael Scalar (21:55):
What are the chances? Yeah.

Octavius Real (21:56):
The chances that even if I knew she was there and
we were cruising around lookingand hoping to bump into her
still would have been verysmall. But the fact that at that
time and that moment, all ofthose little synchronicities
that go into that happening, Ithought, wow. Well, EE system is
doing something to the field. That there's some something

(22:19):
happening that I could notexplain other than this is a
form of synchronicity happeningby being in that field and the
three of us. So it was a miracleto me.
They talk about a course inmiracles. They talk about the
definition of a miracle is achange or shift in perception.
That's what they define amiracle as. Most of us think

(22:40):
it's like, oh, you know, get upand walk. You can't walk.
Or, oh, you can't see, and nowyou can see. Right? Like,
something in Yeah. Those are bigones in the Bible. Yeah.
They get a lot of the the juice.Right? But but a miracle is
anything, a change or shift inperception. And she had that.
This doctor had a change andshift in her perception of of

(23:00):
the situation, of who I was as aparent and a dad advocating for
Atlas, and it was a miracle.
I mean, it was a miracle in inin what's a very difficult
situation. I mean, he's verysick. You know, he's just if he
gets pneumonia or something likethat at this point, I mean,
that's how kids with his diseasepass away. Their their lungs can

(23:22):
just their whole system fromkinda here down is not working
right. The brain controls thewhole GI system.
So it was it was huge. It washuge in in in a way that I would
never have explained somethingto be a miracle or thought a
miracle would happen, but that'swhat happened.

Michael Scalar (23:41):
Count the small miracles and the big ones.

Octavius Real (23:42):
There is. I know that was a long story. Yeah. And
if somebody's listening to thisSo Bless you for listening for
all.

Michael Scalar (23:47):
I I mean, everyone, let's say some prayers
for Atlas and Sean here and whatthey're going through. How how
did how did how did this start? Was he born with it?

Octavius Real (23:56):
Yeah. He has very, a very rare genetic
disease called Alexanderdisease. It was a spontaneous
mutation, meaning neither hismom or I are carriers of this
gene. It just happensspontaneously. I don't know what
medically happens spontaneously, but something did to where one

(24:17):
of his chromosomes, chromosome17, there's a a mutation.
That mutation affects a proteincalled GFAP that makes brain
cells, astrocytes. So he doesn'tmake astrocytes like you and I
do. They're they're defective, and they give off, toxicity to
the brain. So over time, theproteins are misfolding, the

(24:39):
brain cells are not right, andit leads to all of these
degenerative effects.

Michael Scalar (24:45):
Seems like we get more and more of these freak
diseases as time goes by.

Octavius Real (24:49):
Yeah.

Michael Scalar (24:49):
Is is do they know what causes this? Is there
a theory to what causes this? Isit just complete random bad bad
luck draw?

Octavius Real (24:59):
There's some very loose theories on what causes
the spontaneous mutation, butthey really, they don't know.
They don't know why thischromosome mutation happens.

Michael Scalar (25:11):
Do you have any theories?

Octavius Real (25:13):
There are only theories. It could be, like, a
trace mineral imbalance. Itcould be and this was something
I thought about that I that Ihave I have not researched too
in-depth on that could is just atheory, Michael. It could be
using birth control. You know,Atlas was conceived right after

(25:33):
we right after his mom was onbirth control.
She stopped Mhmm. Next periodcycle, pregnant, and we have
Atlas. And his mom had been onbirth control for ten years.
It's it's a truly a theory. Wedon't know.

Michael Scalar (25:45):
Yeah. Yeah.

Octavius Real (25:45):
We don't we we don't know, but it it was still
devastating. Like, a geneticbrain disease, like, it's the
one in a million kind of thing. And then when when we got the
diagnosis, like Is

Michael Scalar (25:57):
that actually close to how how freakishly
absurd it is? It's, one in

Octavius Real (26:01):
a million? It's a little bit it's I mean, it's
fewer than one in a million, but, you know, we're not gonna
be like You're, 1.6. One in onepoint six million. Right? It's
it's very few.
And there's a different severityand different types of Alexander
disease, depending on where themutation is on the chromosome.
Some kids are much more severe. Some are in the middle and some

(26:23):
are not as bad. Atlas isprobably more middle to more
severe just because of his theloss of function at at his age.
And that was like the gamechanger with quality of life.
And and parents that have sickkids know that. Like, when you
lose mobility, everythingchanged. Like, as a as a parent
and a child, all the stuff wecould do when he couldn't walk

(26:46):
anymore, it changed. Even goingto, like, Chuck E. Cheese's.
Right? Like Yeah. Like, nowwe're rolling up. We're, like,
out this last couple weeks, like, I he loves this racing car
game. Right?
Like, you know, those ones you, like, get in and guys seen it.
He loves it, but, I mean, I'mI'm getting him out of the the
stroller. I'm unplugging hisfeeding tube. You know, I'm
hoisting him in. Like, it's anepic moment just to hit that one

(27:10):
video game at Chuck E.
Cheese. Like, what used to be,like, just run-in, have be a kid
is now, like, we're going to dothis one thing. And it's you
know? And parents know this, like, it's a toll on the body.
The caregivers that are outthere, like, it's it's quite a
thing.
So turning it up with energeticmedicine, like, I got the cube

(27:31):
going. I'm benefiting from it.

Michael Scalar (27:34):
It's I mean, it seems like you need the just as
much healing

Octavius Real (27:38):
The caregivers do. Yeah. The caregivers do. And
it's a toll. And his mom is theprimary caregiver, so she's
really on the front lines allthe time.
I have Atlas most weekends, butjust between the lifting and all
of the issues that arise, like, need these supportive health
care options, chiropractic.Right? Trace minerals. All of

(28:03):
these things that supportourselves as electrical beans,
not just chemical beans.

Michael Scalar (28:07):
Absolutely. And speaking of that, you're you're
pulling from the the Danian,Brinkley playbook there.

Octavius Real (28:11):
I'm pulling from that, and, that's because I I
see it as accurate. You know?Like Yeah. Like, affect
molecules. And, yes, we're madeof molecules, but we also every
thought is an electricalimpulse.
Every heartbeat, that's anelectrical impulse. Right? Every
cell has electrical input andoutput. Right? So for somebody

(28:33):
to be like, everything ischemical, it just doesn't make
sense if you actually look at,like, how is the body working?
So it's what are these thingsthat help create coherence,
create better or more stablehomeostatic response with that
electrical field, And it's justsomething I've come to. And, you
know, like like I was saying,I've I've just seen it more as a
calling and a progression asI've looked at complementary

(28:55):
alternative care that this iswhere it's ended up. So in your

Michael Scalar (29:01):
existence here with Atlas, is there anything
that you would tell otherparents that are just getting
into this? I feel like you'vegone through a lot, you know a
lot. Is there something youcould convey to the public that
are might be stumbling acrossthis and being like, this is the
these are this is my cheatsheet. From psychological to

(29:22):
Yeah. Care to just like That's agreat question.

Octavius Real (29:24):
Yeah. Michael. Yeah. The one one cheat sheet
thing that has really helped mewas this term palliative parent

Michael Scalar (29:33):
Mhmm.

Octavius Real (29:33):
Where I I went to seeing that as an empowering
concept psychologically, whereyou go through all of this and
you have a child like Atlas, andit's very easy to become a
victim. Right? Like, one in amillion, and he's going through
all this. And it's like we'researching for hope. Right?
And there's, you know, there's amiracle drug and hope and hope,

(29:55):
and people are selling hope andwishing hope. But the reality of
it is there there it's not it'sgrim. Right? The reality is you
you start to see yourself as avictim. It leads to despair.
Did you have moments like that?Oh, some some very serious ones.
Yeah. And those preceded thisconcept of seeing myself and

(30:17):
other parents as a palliativeparent where the focus shifts to
quality of life. It's it'sempowering where it's like,
okay.
There are all these challenges. It's devastating. It's brutal.
It's affecting grandparents,siblings. It's it's affecting
everybody.
But the shift to that term waslike, hey. We're we're gonna
fight for quality of life. Mhmm.Like, it became a mission and a

(30:41):
focus there, which was sodifferent than when you're like,
hey. I'm how are we gonna dealwith this?
You don't have an identitythat's empowered. So that was
the first cheat sheet was like, okay. There I am a something as
a parent. I am a

Michael Scalar (30:54):
Not a victim.

Octavius Real (30:55):
I'm not a I'm not a victim, or I'm not a parent
that is beholden to what adoctor is saying. And there are
there are many parents that havesick kids where they give up
their power to a doctor or tothe medical system, and they
stop thinking about quality oflife or looking for other things
that can help. They're like, tell us what to do, what drug

(31:16):
can help, what can you do tohelp us, what can you to us? And
and I get that. But at the sametime, when you're a palliative
parent, you're looking forthings that are safe that can
help.
It just changed the wholementality. So there, at
Children's Hospital, they're notspending any time thinking about
Alice right now. I guaranteeyou, none of his doctors are
thinking about Alice right now.But when you're a palliative

(31:38):
parent, you're always thinkingabout your child Yeah.
Absolutely.
And what you can do to helpthem. And that that cheat sheet
in and of itself is what led tothinking about EE system and and
getting a cube and going for itbecause that was really all that
I was left with that I couldhelp him. You know, I can't
force a prescription. I can'tget his mom to do something, but

(31:59):
these these very You can changeyou can change

Michael Scalar (32:02):
the environment and the atmosphere. Change that.
Frequency and vibration.

Octavius Real (32:06):
Exactly. Everything is energy podcast.
Right? Like, that's what we'retalking about. And that's what
as a palliative parent, an easystep, right, to be like, okay, I
can change the environment.
I can change the frequency. Ican do that. I don't need a
prescription. I don't need to gothrough the medical system. You
know, I don't need to I don'tneed to go through piles and
piles of research.
It's noninvasive. Yeah. We'renot putting anything to the

(32:28):
body. Can only help. Can onlyhelp.
Yeah. So I've, you know, I've II see that as the ultimate cheat
sheet, but then there's otherthings, and it's a mix between
psychological and self care.Mhmm. And those can be divert
and and seeing yourself as anadvocate. That that's one that a
lot of people are like, tell uswhat to do, you know, and

(32:50):
they're they're feeding on hope.
Right. And if you feed on hopelong enough, you realize that's
like the the last thing inPandora's box was hope. People
forget that. Like, what was thelast thing in Pandora's box?
It's hope because it it it baitsyou.
And that's what I've watchedeverybody in the medical
community. Everybody's pushinghope. You know, give money for

(33:11):
research for this or that. AndGood old hopium. It's a lot.
It's hopium, and and people needit when you have such a terrible
situation. Yeah. Like with asick child with a terminal brain
disease or cancer, some of thesethings. And they're they're just
devastating, but it was theshift to an empowering mindset
for me. And and I'm not alwaysthere.
And other parents don't youknow, I I don't wanna make it

(33:34):
sound like, hey. Every day youwake up and you're like this
palliative parent and you'relike, you got this gusto.
There's still incredibly harddays. But the more I think of
myself as this is the kind ofparent I am. This is the focus,
and this is searching foranything that can help that's
safe.
It's been it's been kind of thehigh level cheat code.

Michael Scalar (33:55):
Do you do you still count your blessing for
having this experience eventhough it might be a short
experience with Atlas?

Octavius Real (34:01):
You have to. Yeah. Right. And there's some
days where you don't wanna dothe counting. And then there's
other days where you feelbetter, and I and and you're
like, I'm gonna count theblessings and the time.
And it's really a time a timeblessing that, you know, the
time that he's here and thequality of life that he's here,
that's where the focus and thegratitude has been. But it it

(34:22):
again, it gets back to qualityof life. Right? Like, if you're
appreciating and being gratefulfor the time, it's much easier
if it's not like a suffer fest.

Michael Scalar (34:30):
Right.

Octavius Real (34:30):
Right? If it's like, hey. We're calm. We're
having a good day. Even if we'rejust chilling

Michael Scalar (34:35):
Counting the blessings of the good days.

Octavius Real (34:37):
Yeah. We're yeah. If we're counting the blessing
of, like, hey. We were playingAtlas loves Super Mario. Right?
Like, he loves it. So we're,like, playing Bowser's Fury, you
know, and we're just chilling onthe couch.

Michael Scalar (34:47):
Well, some of my fondest memories as a kid too
was playing Super MarioBrothers, to be honest, it's
strange.

Octavius Real (34:51):
Right. It's good. And it's like a part of it. It's
like a part of him knows that, hey. All of this is a giant
simulation or whatever.
And, you know, you when you'replaying a video game, you're
like, hey. This is a simulationtoo. Yeah. It's a game. And I
think he's kinda found you know,I think these kids are like
little masters.
Right? You know, these autisticchildren. Mhmm. They, like, they
come here, and they're they'rethey're like, masters in their

(35:13):
own way, very, very limited inwhat they can do. And some of
that shift that I've looked atwith Atlas is just appreciating
that there's so much more to himthan than I think what people
see him as or what his diseasewould see him as.
So gratitude's important. Andthen the other shift for me, and
this was this was it was yearsin the making. And and I I just

(35:36):
wrote a book about all this, andI talk about it there. But let's
just say

Michael Scalar (35:39):
Is it out?

Octavius Real (35:40):
No. It's about to it's about to

Michael Scalar (35:41):
go it's about to get published. What's it what's
it called?

Octavius Real (35:43):
Adventures with the great wazoo.

Michael Scalar (35:45):
There there's your plug, everyone. There's a
plug.

Octavius Real (35:47):
There now they know there's gonna be some
prelaunch options for people toget it before it hits the
market. But the one thing thatand we'll just I'll just save
everyone the time right here. The one thing that I came to see
was, like, with Atlas that hethat he chose to come and was
chosen to come. Right? It's verydefeating to think that this was

(36:08):
random and that he came and thathe lived this short life, and
then, you know, it's tragic andsuffering, and he passes.
It it was totally different tolook at it from the palliative
parent perspective or aspiritual perspective that, you
know, his soul or the greaterpart of him chose to come Mhmm.
And live this and theexperiences and the struggle and

(36:31):
knowing what love is like withhis his parents, his family, his
friends, and that he was chosen.Call it by the divine. Call it
by what what it fits intopeople's belief systems, beings
of light, angels that that thereis something here. Yeah.
That it was meant to be, thatthere was that there was some
destiny to all of this. And thatshift from seeing it as a

(36:53):
random, horrible, spontaneousmutation that led to a short
life of suffering and pain wasvery different than, hey. There
is synchronicity in this. Therewas you know, there's some
destiny in it, and we're goingto live for quality of life and
learn what love is, you know, through all of it.

Michael Scalar (37:10):
So, obviously, she removed herself from birth
control. So you guys were tryingto have a kid.

Octavius Real (37:13):
Yeah. We were trying to have kid. We knew.

Michael Scalar (37:14):
Do do you think you'll try again, or was are you
what are your thoughts on ontrying again with another child?
Or do you need to find

Octavius Real (37:23):
a new significant other first now? That's probably
a different podcast.

Michael Scalar (37:28):
If it's too deep, then, you know, we will
edit that out. But No. No. It Iknow these are personal
questions. I was it just comesto mind, and I I feel like
viewers might find itentertained to Well, I you know,
like, where's what's next?

Octavius Real (37:38):
I could tell viewers all sorts of stuff about
this topic, but just havinghaving a child like Atlas, a a
sick child, a lot of marriagesare destroyed.

Michael Scalar (37:50):
I'm sure it's been really rough on

Octavius Real (37:52):
your relationship. Right. You go from

Michael Scalar (37:53):
You already alluded to that with the, you
know, she's got full control.Yeah.

Octavius Real (37:57):
It was it was a they his mom, and it was really
her mom. They it's called thenuclear option or the silver
bullet where they had this veryelaborate plan when Atlas you
know, he had a brain bleed. Hehad hydrocephalus. He was very
sick. In, like, three months, itthings were were high stress,

(38:18):
and they wanted to do the twomonth vaccines.
And it became like this bigthing where he needs these
vaccines and the pediatriciansat Children's Hospital like or
he could die if he gets one ofthese diseases. And it was this
huge scare tactic.

Michael Scalar (38:31):
Right.

Octavius Real (38:31):
He could die. He needs these. And and because
he's sick, he especially needsthese. And I heard all this, and
I was like, okay. The more fearyou're laying on us.
And he and he almost actuallydied in in the hydrocephalus in
the brain surgery when they puta shunt in, and they ran a shunt
line down and punctured in, andthe doctor thought they hit an
internal organ. So Wow. Atlas, like, actually almost died. So

(38:53):
then to hear that he could diefrom the vaccines, I I paused,
you know, took some deepbreaths. Why are we doing all
this fear tactic?
And I then I got very interestedin vaccines. And this was pre
COVID when when nobody wasquestioning them. Like, you had
to be a you were a totalconspiracy theorist, anti crazy
person to even be like, hey. What's going on with vaccines?

Michael Scalar (39:16):
On the circles.

Octavius Real (39:16):
But yeah. Right. But I'm saying as a as a parent
going into children's hospital.

Michael Scalar (39:20):
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Octavius Real (39:21):
Right? And and when I rolled that out that I
wanted to wait, like, let's getthrough this and see if we can
figure out why he had anintraventricular brain
hemorrhage and why he hadhydrocephalus. Let's wait that
out a little bit. That's whenthey rolled out this nuclear
option or a silver bullet with adivorce that, you know, had this

(39:41):
big plan. They they set it up towhere they they called the
police on me.
And the and the oh, and it itwas it was an it was an epic
move that they did, but that waswhat initiated all of the
divorce issues and four years oflitigation over custody and
medical decision making. It wasit was it was brutal. So when

(40:02):
people are like, hey. Am I gonnahave another another kid
someday, Or what do I thinkabout that? It it comes down to
who's who's the partner.

Michael Scalar (40:12):
That's that's my problem in life right now too is
I kinda wanna have a kid, butit's really hard to find a
quality partner in societytoday. It you know, there's
definitely some good people outthere, but I I've a lot of
people I see have relationshipsand they end terribly in a very
short period of time. There's alack a lot a lot of factors, but

(40:32):
that that is the hardest part isfinding someone that is on your
level and is gonna beunderstanding and resonates. And
unfortunately, it it's just a Imean, birth rates are dropping
worldwide, and a lot I thinkthat's the biggest prob problem.

Octavius Real (40:45):
There's a lot of lot of shifts going on
culturally with all of that,Michael. But one thing I've that
I might invite you to thinkabout is, first, the belief with
that. And this was somethingthat I thought about. Like, when
you're in divorce, you look atthe world differently. Like,
it's it's brutal and just Mhmm.
You start to become aware ofyour thoughts or, like, what am
I believing about myself? Andand divorce is a can be a soul

(41:08):
crushing experience for people.Right? Because you're like,
wait. I'm not this person thatthey're saying that I am.
You know? They had they theyrolled everything out on me. I
was every name under the sun.Anything bad you could say about
someone, they said it about me.And, eventually, I was kinda,
like, interested.
Like, what's the next

Michael Scalar (41:24):
thing? What's the next lie

Octavius Real (41:25):
you're make up? Or yeah. Or the or the next we
called it in you call it indivorce court misrepresentation.
Right. Right.
Or mischaracterization. Right. And they had a lot of those. But
it it helped me kind of thinkabout what am I believing. And
one with relationships isalways, is it is the glass half
full?
You know? Is is she out there?Or or or or is there a group of

(41:49):
women that could be, you know,in coherence or that I could be
attracting, or is it an emptyempty waters? And for me, I've
just always found it to stay tryto stay above that line

Michael Scalar (42:00):
Yeah.

Octavius Real (42:00):
And be like, hey. It's still it's a it's a place
of plenty. There are many fishin the sea. And It's just a
matter

Michael Scalar (42:07):
of time. Yeah. We'll find those fish in the sea
in time.

Octavius Real (42:12):
See, the way I think of it is like the same
synchronicity that leads to thisvery small chance of a
spontaneous mutation braindisease or seeing the
pediatrician. Right? Like, superkind of godwinks, as they're
called. Yeah. I know.
He's like, I think if thosegodwinks can happen in that way,
they can also happen in meetingsomeone. You know? Meeting your

(42:35):
your twin flame or your soulmateor Or

Michael Scalar (42:38):
just someone to have a beautiful baby with.

Octavius Real (42:40):
Or someone to have a beautiful baby with or
somebody to be in love with orsomeone, you know, just to have
some hot, wild, passionate sexwith. Like, this is

Michael Scalar (42:47):
God, we love those.

Octavius Real (42:48):
Right? So, like, it's intention driven. Right?
And I've just found having abelief, a positive, supportive
belief that matches thatintention is a great place to
start. And and that's onlybecause, like, I've met with the
atlas and the divorce and thethe diagnosis, like, I went to
some very dark psychologicallevels.

Michael Scalar (43:08):
Yeah. I mean, you you you have to I I like to
say, you have to hit rock bottomin a lot of ways so that you can
rebuild yourself correctly. Andsome of these devastating
moments in life are just god'slittle school of life. Like,
well, you you gotta go tocollege, bro. You you're gonna
experience some shit, and it'sgonna hurt, and you're gonna be
in it.
But guess what? You're gonnacome back stronger. And I think

(43:30):
you actually kinda we'll shiftthe conversation to actually,
you you've done some of that, and you've achieved a lot, and
you actually went to congress. And what did you present at
congress? How and how did youget there?
