Today we are joined by Beth McDonough, a duPont Columbia and Emmy award winning investigataive tv reporter who spent three decades covering some of the country's biggest news stories, from the Jayme Closs abduction, to the 35W bridge collapse, and the death of rockstar Prince. But Beth lost everything when she was fired from Fox News for getting her second DUI. Waking up in a drunk tank after a 36 hour black out, only to hear the other women in lock up listening to the news. The news was reporting about her. After the massive public humiliation and losing everything she including her home, she took accountability for her actions and got herself sober through a 12 step program. She started from scratch as a dog walker because no one would hire her, not even the local grocery store. She grew her business and eventually sold it. She got a second chance working in the news as a producer. Now she has wrote a powerful memoir, in hopes of helping other people through her personal experience's. It's called Standby and can be found anywhere books are available.
