Getting praise for going along with whatever the group thinks feels like a balm for our self-dislike or self-doubt.
The Pathwork Guide reveals that bliss is not a distant ideal, but a natural state we are meant to experience. What separates us from this inner happiness is not circumstance, but self-dislike.
Our ability to feel joy is directly tied to our capacity to genuinely like and respect ourselves. When we violate our own integrity—by adopting secondhand beliefs, seeking approval, or avoiding truth—we create inner barriers that disconnect us from the universal forces of harmony and fulfillment.
Bliss, then, is not something we achieve through perfection, but something that naturally emerges when we are aligned with ourselves.
The path to self-liking requires courage, honesty, and a willingness to question inherited ideas and face our inner reality.
Instead of escaping uncomfortable moods or conforming to gain acceptance, we are invited to turn inward, acknowledge what is true for us, and move through our experiences rather than avoiding them. As we become more authentic and self-directed, we restore our integrity and strengthen our connection to our deeper nature.
In doing so, we gradually open the door to the state of bliss that has always been available within us.
