En Canarias, casi cuatro de cada diez adolescentes y jóvenes reconocen que han jugado a azar, y el canal dominante es el online. Hasta un 4% admite -podrían ser más- que han cogido la tarjeta o dinero a sus padres para apostar, un porcentaje que coincide con las cifras de adicciones en adultos, y que se refieran a los casos más graves en que se desarrolla la enfermedad de la ludopatía.
El psicólogo Óscar Lorenzo resume que "la franja vulnerable,entre los 15 y los 17 años, puede dar indicadores relevantes de adicción al juego de azar, sobre todo el juego de azar online".
Nos aproximamos a esta preocupante realidad conversando con el experto en adicciones, autor del estudio de la Fundación Adsis, y director del Centro Alue. Lorenzo ofrece claves para las familias explicando cómo se enganchan los menores (móvil, tipsters, cajas botín), las señales de alerta (culpa, intentos fallidos, dinero que falta) y qué hacer en casa (hablar temprano, controles básicos y pedir ayuda a tiempo).
