The former elite gymnast also weighs in on the controversial trend of athletes switching national allegiances for financial incentives, citing the case of freestyle skier Eileen Gu, and explains why loyalty and integrity still matter on the world stage.
While cultural support for women’s sports continues to grow, Sey acknowledges that many athletes remain hesitant to speak publicly. Even so, she believes the tide is turning.
