Speaker 1 (00:00):
Alrighty okay, Emily Sky, welcome to the studio, having me. Actually,
I'm just gonna say welcome because we'll be playing this tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Be a dream or will we? Yeah, okay, I'll just
say welcome, Welcome Emily, Mother's Day you too.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
This is the show I've always wanted, the Emily and
Emily show, eminem show.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
It's easy as Emily is hard to say, yeah, you,
we're out.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
It's nice to have you in the studio and visiting,
and you're basically given it back to the mummers. You
want to jump on air and tell everyone to get
the right gifts.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
We don't want gifts that make our lives harder and
give us gives.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Us more things to do? Is about to swear?

Speaker 4 (00:44):
I don't swear? What are you talking about? Everyone every
mother swears yes we.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Do under your breast, yes, yeah, And then you realize
that it's really loud.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Sometimes, that you've done a whole bunch of research with
James Cosmetics, your your company, and you've worked out what
women really want.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
So we actually spoke to four hundred Australian mums about
Mother's Day gifts and fifty percent say that they didn't
receive a gift on a year that they should have
received on like they expected to get one. I've been
there before, what tay trouble.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Fifty just forgot, Yeah, dad just forgot.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
That's a lot though, big numbers.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yeah, and two thirds have had to purchase their own gift.
I mean I'm always buying my own gifts. Yeah, I
don't mind all year round. No, this is right.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, now I've done that. I've done the whole I
know you haven't remembered. So I've put something in and
just don't tell the kids I bought it and give
it to me a Mother's Day.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Oh that's I've done it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Yeah, I mean the kids get at school, they do
that little stall.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Yeah, so I.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Think that's really sweet. I honestly don't care what I
get as long as you know they're giving it to
me and they're excited. So yeah, that's what it means
to me.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
But yeah, what other stats have you got?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Ninety five percent received unwanted gifts, So clearly they didn't
get James Cosmetics because I.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Would have wanted.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
There's the plug, sneaky little plug. Gotta get it in there.
But out of all the states, Queensland mothers say they
receive one wanted gifts the most, with eighty two percent
claiming they occasionally, regularly or always receive them. And the
novelty items we don't want those, we don't want the candles,
slogan items saying you know something about mum and cleaning

(02:27):
appliances like I was talking about before, Like, just get
us a cleaner.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
That is.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Getting your wife on behalf of the kids. A vacuum cleaner.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Yeah, I know, but unless the vacuum cleaner has a
name and you're unwrapping a whole human.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Here's your cleaner for a year.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I'm on board, doesn't wear a shirt. There is a
business in that, is there? Yes, don't you reckon male
cleaners that clean with their shirts off.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Naked ones.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
They're already in existence, those businesses, are they?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
There's heaps of them, is there? How do you know
advertise these articles and all that sort of stuff?

Speaker 2 (03:09):
How does he afford that Ferrari turns up in.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
This rig?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
No, I'm happy to get a larder needer, all right?
And what else can you share with us?

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Well, mothers, I think it's all about obviously appreciating your
mother and showing your mother what she means to you.
And that's why I created James Cosmetics. Obviously, our products work.
I love the products, but it's what I use, So
I created it for me and now I'm sharing that
with other mums because I know what we want. And
it's not just about getting results, which clearly our products work.

(03:46):
It's about that moment that you take for yourself of
self care. Is that process there and taking that time out.
And I shouldn't say this, but you can wear them
while you're vacuuming and takes course, you can wear our
iyemasks and face We have all a whole into products.
But don't worry. You've probably you've probably missed getting a
gift for Mother's Day if it's this late. But I've

(04:07):
got you back, Yeah, because we've got thirty percent off
our e gift cards. Okay great for over one hundred
dollars Okay perfect, So mum, you know you'll still be
her favorite.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah, daughter, I've got to say on that James Cosmetics.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
On the James Cosmetics site, the Advanced Lift and firm
I cream is your big game changer and always sells
out because it has a little I don't know if
you can hear it. It's a little buzzer has a
vibrator in the applicator for your eye.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Yeah, a little freebie we chucked in there.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
So what does Why is that vibrating? Like putting stuff
on helps.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
The product penetrate into the skin, but it also is
good for that lymphatic drainage. Yes, I love running that
under my eyes in the morning toge. I wake up
with bags, but they don't last long because I've got
James Cosmetics. You look at you go on fire today anyway.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
And the applicator every wants to run out of product
is good for other things.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Apparently you were telling me that I haven't done it
good tonight.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
And what do you want for Mother's Day?

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Am?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
I just want time with my kids and to be relaxed,
not be angry and stressed out and always got something
to do. I want to be in the moment, no
social media and just spend time with them. And that's
what I want every day, to be honest.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah, but it's just so hard.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yeah, and to relax, you know, with my James on
or something like something that's relaxing.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah, with them not having to cook or clean.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
No, I don't want to do anything like that or
even prepare.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
The school bags for the next day.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Oh, it's never ending. I feel like it's Groundhog Day. Yeah,
every day is the same.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, I agree, Yeah, yeah it is. And everything else
in your life going well. How's fitness and everything going?

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Yeah? Really good. I'm getting back on track now. I
had some time off, but building that muscle, because that's
what we've got to build. When we're you know, forty plus,
we're going to make sure we're holding onto that muscle.
Lose that very fast.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
I love following you for all of those tips and
stuff and the other big thing since we've actually had
you on areas you got diagnosed with navigating and sharing
that online as well.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Yeah, I mean I always kind of I knew I
was different, but getting that diagnosis has been really helpful
for me, not just to get a label, but the
education that comes with it and helping the people around
me to understand how I work and to know myself
how my brain functions. And it's different to other people.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
How how different? Very different? Like I mean, we would
sit here all day, but I just I think differently.
I can't action things very well. I'm on medication now
and that does help a lot. Rejection sensitive dysphora is
a big one. Yeah, I don't know if you know

(06:40):
much of it. Yeah, you would know. Yeah, that's a
lot because you perceive rejection when it's not actually there. Yeah,
and then the feeling that you get is actually painful,
Yes it is. Yeah, So I'm working through that. I'm
doing a lot of work on my mind.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Does that cause a behavioral thing then, like, so you're
feeling rejected and then you maybe project on other people?

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Oh, absolutely, without realizing it until later. Yeah, and you know,
I'll get defensive, like usually it's my man who place up,
and I'll get defensive. But it's because I'm hurting and
that's my reaction, and I guess it's an immature reaction.
So it's working on taking that time, taking some deep breaths,
and then thinking it through.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Process think that's another thing. I can't process that. Well.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Yeah, you're literally without therapies for our family, it's literally
telling your brain you're not being rejected, this is not real.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
This is your rejection sensitive dysphoria. That person does love.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
You, yes, or like you, or the result that you've
got is okay, whatever it is, and it's trying to
tell your brain everything's safe and you're okay.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
The narrative that I tell myself that's complete lies. Yeah,
like you've got to I sort of pull myself out
of my brain kind of and go, my mind, all
those thoughts aren't me and they're not truth. So take
yourself out of it and go, yeah, that's okay, that
that's happening. But that's not real, is it real? I'm
a valid you know.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
I love that you're talking about this because you're so
well known and you're so loved millions and millions of
followers look at you and you're so beautiful and you're
so successful.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
But to get there, what a battle for you?

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Oh my gosh. And I guess that's the thing. People
judge other people based on how they look, what they've
achieved in their lives, how their Instagram feed looks, and
it's not reality. Because I'm one of the least confident
people you've ever met. I'm working on it. I should say, no,
I am, because I'm all about that. Like what you
say is it's the truth. But yeah, working on that

(08:35):
confidence and self worth is a big one. But that's
why we can't judge people. Everyone's got their own battles.
We're all working through something more.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Compassion absolutely, Oh, I love talking to you to the
time and how much you share, So thank you and
I hope you do get your nice, quiet, social media
free mind.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Stat I hope you do too. And happy mother's date
all the mother's out there. Yeah, if you don't get something,
get something for yourself, James, I don't want to. Seriously though,
thank you
