The Energy Minister admits a raging inferno at one of
Australia's biggest oil refineries will have an impact on fuel production.
The massive blaze erupted at the Viva Energy plant in
Victoria at around eleven last night and is continuing to
burn out of control this morning, Chris Bowen telling Seven
it's not ideal considering the current fuel crisis. There is

an impact on production at this stage. Petrol, high octane
petrol in particular, diesel and jet fuel continues to be
produced at the refinery, but obviously I've been talking to
the chief executive over the last several hours and will
continue to talk today to get better assessments.
