Good morning. I'm Lucy Niche. Rescue crews are scouring waters
off the Gold Coast this morning for a missing boatman.
The vessel departed Runaway Bay Marina yesterday and was due
to come back. With the alarm raised at about seven
o'clock last night. It sparked a widespread search of surrounding
areas and seaways after several failed attempts to make contact
(00:20):
with the vessel over the radio. The black half cabinet
pleasure craft was then located at around two o'clock this morning,
twenty five nautical miles southeast of the seaway, but it
was unoccupied. Serious concerns I held for the man believed
to have been on board
