Okay, can we give a round applause to Australian social
media You have won the world over. Yes. Prime Minister
Anthony Albanesi has become the butt of jokes nationwide after
an explosion of memes from small businesses claiming that he
has appointed himself the forty seven percent silent partner of
their business. Now, I don't know if you've seen this.

It all started with a small tech company. It always does,
you know, these young tech lads with a bit of
a sense of humor, and they used AI obviously being tech,
to AI him in their business, shaking hands saying you know,
we'd like to introduce you to our new silent co founder,
Anthony Albanesi. And it was all in reply of the

budget and some of these budget changes. Now, one of
the budget changes is is that in small business and startup,
if you sell your business, you will have to pay
that much in capital gains tax. Now everyone is, yeah,
everyone is outraged because there's a whole and why people
start their own business and it's generally a really hard

thing to do, and it's generally to try and get
yourself ahead, but you don't get yourself ahead until that
sale point. So I have a small business myself, so
I can speak on behalf of a lot of small
businesses to say that when you have a small business,
it's twenty four to seven working, there's no days off.
You often pay everyone else before you pay yourself. You
don't pay things like super for yourself if you can't

afford it at the time, because you've got the goal
at the end of that sale point. And EJ you're
already paying a lot of tax too, company tax for
some big medium size payroll tax. Here in Queensland, which
is not everywhere in the country, payroll tax is a killer.
Every second day in our Gold Coast bulletin they are
doing stories about another business that's shut down, another business

that's shut down, and generally it is an ATO tax
that is bringing these small businesses undone because there's too
many taxes and so now here is another one. So
everyone was outraged. But then to actually have a little
bit of fun with the devas station Albo was carrying meat.
He was doing the splits in a pilates studio. Honestly,

he was packing orders, he was posting orders, he was
making cakes. Like the internet had elbow, so busy. So
Jim Chalmers came out yesterday and he said, oh, well, look,
you know, like a lot of tax reform, you know,
sometimes when we pictured it might not happen and we'll
have to consult, which then made a lot of people go,

you didn't consult before. Yeah, yeah, you didn't consult before.
Yeah it is, But I reckon that Jim Chalmers had
to come out and say something and not because all
the labor MPs are now worried that this is going
to affect the election in two years time. They're worried
