Description: This week, GeekCypha hits the ground running with major casting announcements, starting with Samara Weaving stepping up as the White Queen herself, Emma Frost, in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men movie. The crew weighs in on news that Dave Bautista is in talks to play Kratos in Amazon's live-action God of War series, taking over the mantle from Ryan Hurst. Then, all eyes turn to the box office as Spider-Man: Brand New Day shatters expectations, crossing the $1 billion milestone in just six days—standing at a wild $1,052,956,180 at the time of recording—to become the second-fastest film in history to reach ten figures. Jawz kicks off our full movie breakdown with a complete recap before the team goes character-by-character through the entire film, analyzing Frank Castle’s Punisher, Jean Grey, and Peter Parker himself. From standout cast performances and sharp writing to Destin Daniel Cretton’s perfect direction, we break down everything that makes this web-slinging blockbuster a hit.
