Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, what's life like with the new quarterbacks? It's been nice.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I mean, a guy that's been in this league a
long time, he tells you exactly what he wants out
there running routes and uh, the spots he needs you
to be in.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
So it's been really really nice. How has it been
trying to build chemistry?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Obviously, just talked to us about you know, you guys
throw them together, getting to know you guys.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
How is that chemistry process going for you with him? Uh,
that's been great.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I mean ever since he came down to Atlanta to
throw this in the off season. It's just been going
up ever since then, and each and every day just
trying to build more and more and just continue to
grow out there on the field.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's the same offense, maybe the same play caller, different quarterback.
Do you think your usage will be a little different
and you take m maybe there's more diversification of routes
for you this year?
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I definitely think I'll be moved around a little bit more,
might be outside a little bit more and get some
get some deeper shots down the field. But at the
end of the day, it's just gonna continue to just
get open and just be a valuable target for our quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
So well, can you tell you y, I'm sure you
knew a lot about Russell Wilson before he got here.
You know, he's been right and see him on TV
all the time, right, refew It's and everything. What is
there anything that you're like, Wow, I didn't know that
about him. I didn't know what he was like in
you know, off the field that haunts out.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
I mean, he's just the same guy every day.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Like a lot of guys, you see that they're a
little different when they come in after you first meet him,
that you kind of start to see how they are
on a regular basis.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
But he's the same exact guy.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Every day in here early every day, doing what you're
supposed to do, even catching us up just the way
that you would want your quarterback doing.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
So I mean it's it's.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
A different personality. He's a big personality. You say he's
the same every day? What is that every day?
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Then?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I mean just his leadership. I mean you see it
every day. I mean from the first meeting to whenever
we're out there on practice. He's just doing everything right
and you can just kind of see why he's been
in the NFL for so long.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Experience and the tradition is he just naturally evolved as
the leader, like as one of the leaders at least.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, I mean I would definitely say that.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
I mean just his presence and I mean obviously everything
he's accomplished, and just this command that he's already kind
of just tried to take and in the room and
just in offensive room, and you just see the leadership
that he has.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
So can it wear you out a little bit?
Speaker 4 (02:03):
It's a good you know what I'm saying as far
as he's so there's a lot of him, right.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
I mean yeah, I mean, but at the end of
the day, that's what you want.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I mean, you don't want your quarterback to be any
lack lack of daysical or anything like that. You want
him to be how strong and really motivated and detailed.
And then that's exactly what he is.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
So what if it helped the ball that he throws?
Speaker 4 (02:21):
I mean, what have you notice that's been different from
other quarterbacks that you've caught in balls?
Speaker 1 (02:24):
For?
Speaker 2 (02:25):
I mean, that deep ball just drops right in the
bucket for sure. And then I mean whenever he's throwing
just the shorter routes and stuff like that. It kind
of comes in like a pillow. It's really really easy
to catch, which outside I like about so.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Well, guys, the same for all the changes. This for
Russ and made up pretty much every position. The position
there the top four is unchanged his receiver. Do you
guys take that as a vote of confidence? And can
that help you guys hit the ground running the four
of you?
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Uh, yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I mean we we're all confident in our abilities and
we just feel like whoever's back there, as long as
we get some chances in, can make plays with the
ball after the catch and things like that, feel like
we're gonna be just fine.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Wandell when you when obviously talk a lot about Robber
what he brings to the table. If a guy came
in and had all of that and then when he
stepped on the field couldn't play mm, you guys should
probably know that pretty quickly.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yeah, I would definitely think so.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
I mean I would usually from the time we kind
of go through first like routes on the air and
seven on seven, you kind of get a feel for
how your quarterback's gonna be so and.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Then you're confident that at age thirty six, refs of
what's gone through.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
He's the guy that you thought you were gonna see
when he wanted.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Oh yeah, no doubt. I mean even whenever, like the
first time we threw, me and Slay were both like,
this is actually better than we expected.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
And so now we were we're excited about it and
could be more happy that he's our quarterback.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Because of what you had heard.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Just everything we have heard, and then just the way
like he just commanded, even just that little session of
just the three of us meet Slay and THEA, it
was just kind of like we haven't had a quarterback
that's just gonna command everything.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
And you know exactly what you want. So now he's
been great though, and what was was better than you expected.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I mean, just like you said, like I said, the
leadership and just even just throwing the football. Obviously, we
don't watch full games of a lot of teams, so
you don't really get to see all the time exactly
how quarterback plays and things like that. So as soon
as we actually got to throw it and we were like, okay,
you can spend it still, And so you're excited about that.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
What if your first impressions been of Jackson.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
He's a funny, goofy dude, but he's he's gonna go
out there and work too, real resilient. We had to
tell him a little bit, like you're an NFL quarterback
now you don't have to do some of those things
that you might have did in college. So but he's
gonna go out there and put it all all that
are on the line and do a great job.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Definitely know like diving things like that.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I mean, at the end of the day, you're the quarterback,
so you know, you got to keep you healthy and
make sure that you're out there ready for Sundays. In chemistry,
have you guys gotten to do anything fun off the
field to kind of build that chemistry too?
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I mean we just kind of go out to eat.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
I said, that's kind of the big thing, just going
to different restaurants and just trying to get together. Like
that leadership you now learn the you've been in the
league a few years now and with the incoming rookies,
how have you been a leader for them? And how
do you think they'll mesh with this?
Speaker 1 (05:10):
I mean, I think they're doing just fine. For me.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
I mean, I'll just try to be a resource for him.
Obviously I've been through it. This is my fourth grade now,
and obviously I was at the start of it with
Dave's and them, So going through installs and stuff. Just
being a resource for anything, any type of help that
they may need, learning the offense, any questions about routes,
how you how they might see this, how they might
see that.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
So just trying to be their for them with whatever
questions they may have.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
You do you already see with this offense and the
limited start you have so far with this offense and
with Russ, that there's gonna be a lot less of
you running six yards turning around catching the ball.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
I I would hope.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
So obviously I don't call the plays, and I think
I think we will be just fine in that guy.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Don't care who pulls the players. I mean, no, I don't.
I think it'll be it's collaborative.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Right now, I'm sure I have no idea who's talking
in that headset when Russ is get the calls, So
just go out there and get open.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
What gives you confidence for a couple of years now
is especially last year, the scoring has been a problem
for this offense. Yet the Giants decided to bring back
ten of the eleven offensive starters. Why will and the
same coaching staff, Why will the offense be better?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
I just think the details and everything that we just
gotta do going into camp and going into week one.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
And obviously I think it starts obviously back there.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
With that quarterback position, and I think we all have
confidence in him and it'll trickle down from there.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
So kind of reference, and you hope your role maybe
changes a little bit, Like how do you look at
last season? For you obviously had a ton of catchers,
but do you feel like you just maybe not the
impact of the big players you were hoping for?
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
I mean I definitely want to impact the game with
a couple more big plays. And obviously I like being
a guy that the quarterbacks can rely on to just
be there whenever and so that way you have a completion.
But I want to impact the game a little bit
more too.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
So Rondo, is is there anything too? I mean this
might sound a little strange, but your quarterback were very
very big guys here. Yeah, you know six or five, Russ,
It's not six or five.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
You know you can do it.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Right?
Speaker 4 (07:03):
First of all, is it nice to have a conversation
with a quarterback you can look at all. Is there
a difference on the field with him throwing to the ball.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Not too much, I say.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
For me, it's always kind of been when I'm going
across the middle, I'm looking through linemen and different things,
so it's always been a little bit of a struggle
just kind of seeing the ball as soon as.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
It comes over. So it's never really too much of
a difference for me. Thank you all, Thank you
