to be doing more regularly.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Regularly.
I got you, we got to reset.
I got you.
Welcome back to the Go All Inpodcast.
I'm Jake Fine.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
And I'm Braxton Cave,
and today we're going to hit
you guys with a different formatthan the usual, something we
are going to be doing andintroducing more regularly, and
that is all in moments episodes.
These episodes are designed tobe quick, hitter episodes where
we choose a topic that eitherthe listeners have brought
forward to discuss or somethingthat is resonating with us at
this particular time in ourjourney.
(01:02):
All that being said, today'sall in Moments episode is on the
five-minute mindset reset, andJake is going to kick us off
with his experience in dealingwith a mindset reset when life
gets crazy and you have torefresh your perspective.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
And yes, I am, I mean
to break it down for you like,
the five-minute mindset resetbasically is, like you know,
simple but powerful practicedesigned to help you break out
of, you know, negativity, refocus your energy, you know,
take a step back, realign withyour goals quickly and, yeah,
simply, it just takes a fewminutes.
Um, I've done this and it.
(01:38):
You know, sometimes you have totake a step back and, you know,
take a look at everything, because you just get in the
moment, you get moving too fastand just basically shift your
perspective, clear mentalclutter and get back on track on
winning the mentality.
So, basically, shit, I've hadthis numerous times with you
(02:04):
know, doing 75 hard right now, you're going to have days that
are not going to go as planned.
You're going to have to pivot, make some changes and yeah,
that's with this.
I've had to do it numerous times, I've had to do it last week,
I've had to do it this week.
It's just taking that step back, deep breath, analyzing
(02:27):
everything and basically doing areset.
And yeah, that's I mean, so far.
What day 30,?
What day 35?
Speaker 2 (02:37):
35, yep.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, and it's
already happened, you know, and
it's going to happen more andmore.
And and with me, you know, building my brand and I feel
like there is never a good day.
It's always putting out adumpster fire, I call it and um,
yeah, this is a good tool toyou know, to learn and for
anything that happens to you inthe future.
(03:01):
I mean, you can use it.
So we're going to break it downfor you real quick.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
So, if you want to,
yeah, I think, when it comes to
the mindset reset, it's allabout intentionality and
perspective.
And, you know, one thing thatreally resonates with me is that
the things that we oftencomplain about are the things
that we used to pray about andask for, and we often fall into
(03:26):
the trap at least I know I do ofyou know, when I get this, I'll
be happy, when I make this muchmoney, I'll be happy when I get
this house, when I get thispromotion.
And what I've learned over timeis I've, you know, accomplished
goals and gathered, you know, these material things.
Like it feels good for a week, right.
(03:46):
And then it's like what's thenext thing?
And I think, as you, you know,I've experienced this in life
when I bought my dream car and Iwas like, oh, I thought this
was going to like make mecomplete, right.
And then you drive that car forlike a week and you're like,
all right, what's next?
You're over it already.
And Natalie would be like, seriously, like I thought that
(04:08):
was like the car that you alwayswanted and I was like, yeah,
but like I saw this other oneand you know it's, it's
something that Natalie likeshe's amazing, I mean, she
reminds me so often that youknow we have this conversation.
I promise you it's like damnnear monthly, I feel like, and
(04:32):
she's like you get so laserfocused on achieving the next
thing that you do a horrible jobof reflecting on the things
that you have accomplished thusfar and the improvements that
you do a horrible job ofreflecting on the things that
you have accomplished thus farand the improvements that you've
made in the person that you'vebecome.
And that's where I always haveto have the mindset reset and it
(04:53):
truly is.
I mean, there's so many thingsin my life that I have now that
I used to pray about.
You know, like having children, right, there's days where, like
the kids are nuts and you're,you just want to be like, oh my
gosh, I can't handle this.
And then you sit back for asecond, you think about man,
this, this is all I've everwanted.
And so when I get into that, that time of you know, it's,
(05:18):
it's gratitude, it's reflection,it's taking a step back and,
and you know, having a moment ofwow, like if I look back at
Braxton five years ago, I wouldbe amazed at where I'm at today.
But we, you know, also often, especially when you're high,
achieving and you want tocontinue to grow in your life,
(05:39):
like you don't ever take thetime to stop and take in those
moments.
And so for me, wife is is agreat counterpart to just the
way that I roll and always ontothe next thing, and she does a
much better job than I do ofjust being intentional and be
like, hey, like things arepretty good, and you reflect on
(06:02):
that and you get, you become, you know the, the gratitude and
you're grateful, and then it'salmost like you get, you become,
you know the, the gratitude andyou're grateful and then it's
almost like all right, we'reback doing the next.
What's the next thing?
Um, so I think it's always goodto have these resets apologies
for my voice, I'm getting over alittle sickness, but um, I
(06:23):
think it's important to havethese moments of reflection and
gratitude, but I don't thinkit's to me.
I don't ever want to get stuckin that moment Right and become
complacent.
It's, it's a fine line of beinggrateful and thankful for the
things you have, but then alsostriving to continue to
accomplish the next things thatare to make you the best part of
(06:44):
yourself.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Yeah, I think a lot
of people, you know, when they
get in this funk or stuff keepshappening, repetitive, they, you
know.
Instead of asking yourself whyis this happening to me?
What is this trying to teach me?
That's, I mean pretty much whatyou're saying.
It's just taking that step back, and that's where you got to
shift your mindset, to go thatdirection.
(07:05):
Don't go the one that's sayingwhy is this happening to me?
Because which I've donenumerous times in the past you
know I'm starting to learn nowwhy stuff is happening, because
it's these are lessons.
You know we're learning theselessons to grow from and so they
don't ever happen again and youknow what to do if they do.
So that's a.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, I mean I kind
of lean on you know what to do
if they do so.
That's a.
Yeah, I mean I kind of lean onyou know there's a.
There's a saying out there ofyou know, never complain when
your plate is full, when youbegged and pleaded to eat.
Yeah, and I think it's just.
It's so, so easy to fall intothat of man I got so much going
on, but isn't this what youwanted?
You take a step back, you'relike, yeah, this is exactly what
I wanted.
(07:50):
And this is forming me into theperson that I want to be.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
So, amen, you got
anything on this, jack.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I guess one example
is for a five minute reset.
An example that I've gonethrough recently is you know you
talk about being laser focusedand you know I should be here.
I want to be going here and,you know, career wise I should
be here.
And when things are not turningin your favor, but then
something out of the blue thatyou would never think about and
(08:24):
you're like why, why is thishappening?
You would never think about andyou're like why, why is this
happening?
That's an opportunity to take astep back and reframe and go
what, what is this supposed tobe teaching me?
And then you, once you startlooking back and going, oh well,
maybe I'm not moving forwardbecause I don't have the
(08:45):
experience here here, here.
How can I get that experience?
Oh well, this opportunity mayallow me that experience.
But look at all this that I cangrow from that.
And it's such a when you startreframing and looking at it a
different perspective, so manythings unlock and then you're
just.
(09:05):
Then you get so motivated andyou're like block, and then
you're just then you get somotivated and you're like wow, I
never even thought.
But hey, and you have this youhave.
This could be you've come.
Yeah, because out of yourcomfort zone, I know what you're
talking about.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
So, um, he doesn't
yet, but I mean, hey, god has a
plan man and that's one thingthat I'm.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
We've talked a lot
about of being in control, and
once you let go of that control, things fall into place.
I'm letting it guide me where Ineed to go.
Yep, so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Because I mean, you
know we call them test days.
They're not here to make you,you know, stop what you're doing
, make you quit.
They're here to see if you havethe discipline, the mindset and
you know the grit to pushforward and learn from you know.
That's what the five minutereset is here for to refocus and
remind yourself.
(10:03):
You're built for this.
So that's my two cents.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
That's the moment.
Yeah, thank you.
