"Every child needs a champion, an adult who will never give up on them."
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work in special education and what the path to that career would entail, my guest, Emily Carlsen, broke it down for us and then some.
Emily shared her journey to becoming a teacher working for autistic children, although she always knew from a young age that she wanted to be a teacher, working in special education wasn’t always a part of her plan.
However, with a heart like Emily’s it’s no wonder she’s a teacher of primary autism children today, the compassion and encouragement she shows towards her students and the role she plays in their lives is so affirming and uplifting.
Towards the end of our conversation you will definitely hear where Emily’s heart lies, this special part of the conversation brought tears to both our eyes. Grab your cup of coffee friends, this is one show you will be happy you made time for!
