The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the nation's largest grassroots organization for people with mental illness and their families. Founded in 1979, there are affiliates in every state, including New York. It provides support to family and friends of individuals with mental illness and persons living with mental illnesses.
In our pandemic world, it's well documented that cases of mental illness have risen, making the work of NAMI that much more important.
Coming up to help NAMI New York State raise funds is the “Off the Mask” fashion and art show. It's a key fundraising event.
Kate Tortora, community education and outreach coordinator with NAMI New York State and board member Mary Bartlett are my guests.
