From the Thursday, the 21st of July 2022, of Heard Tell:
Heard Tell is turning down the noise and getting to the information we need by taking an episode to once again focus on mental health, both our own and how the issue is portrayed in culture and media. We replay a conversations we had for the Heard Tell Podcast with Clinical psychologist, writer, author, and podcaster Dr. Kathryn Gordon. Dr. Gordon returns to Heard Tell to talk mental health and healthcare. We talk about how the pandemic and various issues that came with it affected different age groups, how folks adapted, how some did not, and how technology is both a blessing and a curse for fighting isolation. We have a real, grown folk talk about suicide and suicide prevention, what you can and cannot do for someone else, and Dr. Gordon's own book "The Suicidal Thoughts Workbook." Plus, as we do every time we talk, we ask her for some examples of good mental health depictions in movies, TV, and media, and you might be surprised by some of her answers. All that and more on this episode of the Heard Tell Podcast.
