I'm Speaking...with Elizabeth West

"I'm Speaking" is a take on (now) Vice-President Kamala Harris at the US VP debate back in 2020 with (then) VP Pence as she had to say "Excuse me, I'm Speaking" when he kept interrupting her and cutting her off. This term became famous for a lot of women and I thought it was fitting since this is a podcast and I'm literally 'speaking' my mind on self-help topics, women in business as well as being an introvert and a highly sensitive person in life and in business in an 'extroverted' and 'non-sensitive' world. A lot of my episodes are 'Love Letters' to Introverts and Highly Sensitives (Empaths and Highly Sensitive People). My website: www.westelizabeth.com My IG handle: @imelizabethwest This podcast is an: Education, Self-help and Business podcast.

Hello...thanks for listening!

I heard Billie talk on another podcast and I resonated with a lot of what she said so I reached out to her, and the rest is history! :) Thanks, Billie!

Billie Gardner and I talk a lot about being an introvert and our characteristics that are more introverted! And that it's all "okay"!

Hello...thanks for listening!

July 19 was my 1 year podcast-versary! Woohoo!

I thought I was an extrovert my whole life because growing up it seemed that everyone equates being an introvert = shyness. I've always been outgoing and have had friends throughout life, so I 'assumed' I was an extrovert!

Come to find out that we're all both (extroverted AND introverted) number one, and that the only difference betw...

This is another good one y'all and I'm not being biased! Tracie has a lot of mic drop moments in this podcast episode!

She speaks about "changing the culture of sales" and how to write more "audience focused vs 'me' focused" copy which I can attest to doing myself! I don't do this intentionally; it just takes some practice for us newbies and Tracie help me hands on...

I found out about Danielle Tucker when we attended a zoom meeting and I Ioved her energy and so I decided to reach out to her and now we're "biz buddies"! :)

She talks about a lot of things on this episode...like 'jumping without a net' and being a digital nomad for many years, realizing that she needed to take self-care and then slowing down to create a 3-day workweek!

Jessica was my first podcast interview back in October 2021! Thanks, Jessica!!!

I edit my own podcast episodes right now and due to this and "life" it took me this long to convert our Zoom interview into Audacity (how I edit my podcast episodes) and then onto MP3 so they can be listened to as a podcast, after the edits! Being "techie" isn't my st...

In the U.S. it's close to Independence Day, a huge holiday celebrated. It was freedom from Britain on July 4, 1776.

This year with the overturning of Roe v Wade and many rights being restricted, it's making me question Independence Day.

Womens' bodies are governed by their state with the overturning of Roe v Wade and it really wasn't that long ago that women (white women) could vote....

Hello...thanks for listening!

I'm in the U.S. and on Friday, June 24, Roe v Wade was overturned. I am shocked and livid to say the least (!)

I made sure to cool down by the time I recorded this though so it's still not "E" rated for 'Explicit' but What the eff just happened?!?

The one thing that we can do and all U.S. Citizens is to VOTE as Michelle Obama said in the 2020 Elections, "VOTE like our liv...

This is one of my favorite quotes yet, only now am I allowing myself to really follow this idea.

You see...the word 'failure' gives me anxiety even typing it out. I hate this word! And with my hating of this word, it's making me question...why do I/have I put so much power into this word (?).

My teacher in the 5th Grade (I'm in the U.S.) and my teacher didn't really teach.

He was lazy really. He was "textbook" and his "teaching style" consisted of us reading one of our textbooks (for example) for Geography, answering the questions at the end of the chapter (in the book) and that was it.

We were not to ask any questions in addition.

He specifically said "no q...

I've had a long list of people that I've asked to be on my podcast since before I started podcasting (one of my Zones of Genius is 'Connecting with Others').

Anyhow, everyone has said "yes, let me know!" and I've responded "great, I will!".

I started my podcast almost a year ago (July 19 to be exact!) and before I started it, I had been asking people to be on my ...

Hello..thanks for listening!

I have always felt like this all of my life but in light of recent events in the U.S. this month (May 2022), they have made me ask "Where is the Empathy?".

I know that as a highly sensitive person (HSP) and borderline empath, that I am and we are 'deep feelers' and have more empathy than those that are not and don't but even then...how could you *not have empathy in a time like tod...

Don't ever let anyone put you in a box. I've felt like this my whole life...being a girl then a woman, a woman of color, bi-racial and adding on being an introvert and a highly sensitive person (HSP), an INFP in Myers-Briggs and a Mani-Gen in Human Design...

Even if I slept in on the weekends mind you! Lol! We're all groomed to be "morning people" as everything from elementary school, college and working for corporate has the hours of anywhere from 7am-4pm or 9am-6pm.
