Growing up as a kid in Oklahoma, I never really thought about going overseas to a foreign country or really even traveling out of Oklahoma for that matter. Not until having Julian Hibbard as my Geography teacher in 7th grade, where she asked me to come and take her German class the following year. Frau, as we called her, is recently retired from a 30 plus year career in teaching and I recently got back in touch with her after almost 24 years. During our 8th grade German class, she asked a few students if they would be willing to travel to Germany for a couple of weeks for a tour of the country. The decision to go on this trip has totally changed my life for the better and has opened up so many doors and opportunities for me that I could not even begin to list them all here. Join us for this great conversation about chances you take in life, a look back at her career and the challenges facing teachers in today's environment. Most of all, thanks to all the teachers out there going above and beyond daily for our youth to educate and inspire them to take those chances in life!
