Before starting his successful coaching career, Luke Fickell excelled at Columbus (Ohio) DeSales High School as a two-time first-team All-Ohio defensive tackle and three-time Ohio state champion wrestler.
Fickell would continue his career at Ohio State and showed his understanding of life in the trenches playing in the 1997 Rose Bowl with a torn pectoral muscle. Injury may have ended his playing career, but as you'll learn in this podcast/videocast, Fickell soon made a life-changing decision by entering the coaching profession.
