Demetria Green co-anchors PHL17 Morning News weekdays from 5-9am. She comes to Philadelphia from Alabama, where she spent the last 8 years as a reporter and anchor.  Demetria was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago.  She received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University and her master's degree in communications from Governors State University.  Demetria hosted the red carpet at the Country Music Awards in Nashville, interviewed local and national politicians, and pressed civil rights leaders on issues affecting the country.  In her spare time, Demetria worked as an adjunct speech instructor at local community colleges . During this episode Demetria discloses the hurdles and obstacles of leaving the corporate world and transitioning into Journalism. She gets candid about over coming the obstacles of being An African American News Anchor and the power of interning to get ones foot in the door. .
