Speaker 1 (00:01):
Did you know that the average person spends over two
hours a day on distractions likesocial media and unnecessary
tasks?
So, if you do the math right,we're talking about 30 full days
a year an entire month wastedon things that don't really

(00:23):
matter to you.
So imagine, imagine what wecould achieve if we redirected
that time towards our goals.
Today, guys, we will explorehow misplaced focus is holding
many of us back and how we canstart focusing on what truly

(00:45):
matters.
Hi guys, my name is Fabio fromJourney to Success, and welcome
fast back, and how we can startfocusing on what truly matters.
Hi guys, my name is Fabio fromJourney to Success, and welcome
Welcome here in this class wherewe learn how to achieve our
dreams, our goals, to become abetter person, you know, to
become better people and, in away, to unlock our true self.

(01:07):
And have you ever felt likeyou're working hard but not
really getting anywhere?
Do you know that?
Feeling Like your to-do listkeeps growing and growing, but
the things that matter most stayuntouched?
Well, you are not alone.
We live in a world full ofdistractions emails,

(01:30):
notifications, endless scrolling, notification again, endless
scrolling and notificationsagain.
So it's no wonder so many of usfocus on the wrong things,
especially now with this socialmedia era.
But here's the problem when wegive our attention to what

(01:50):
doesn't matter, we, let's say, lose the energy and time that
actually we need to invest inwhat does, in what really
matters.
So in this episode, we're goingto uncover why misplaced focus
is such a common strangle andhow it can affect every part of

(02:12):
our lives.
Then we'll dive into ways tobreak free and take control of
our attention.
But, as always, guys, before togo forward, please subscribe.
So I know this is the rightdirection to drive you, to guide
you, to lead you towards yourjourney to success.
Let's start, let's start withthis new beautiful episode.

(02:34):
So by looking at what happenswhen we focus on the wrong
things.
Okay, so first, there is astress and burnout.
Have you ever worked hard onsomething only to realize it
didn't matter in the long run?
Do you know that feeling?
It feels draining.
You know what I mean, andthat's because we're putting

(02:56):
energy into tasks or goals thatdon't align with what we truly
value.
So this is the first one.
So stress and burnout canliterally drain your energy.
Next, there is the issue ofmissed opportunities.

(03:17):
So when we are too busy chasingevery little task or goal, we
might overlook the big ones.
For example, spending hoursperfecting a presentation might
mean missing out on anopportunity to network with

(03:37):
someone who could help yourcareer.
Also, from my personalexperience, sometimes I'm too
much precise, I try to be toomuch perfect on what I do and I

(03:59):
spend too much energy onsomething that no one would look
at.
You know, something that no onewould look at you know, and so
it's important to prioritize andtarget better your energy in a
way to redirect better yourfocus.
Okay, finally, there is theemotional toll.

(04:20):
So when our focus is scattered,we often feel frustrated first
of all, and especiallyunfulfilled.
It's like running a race on aspin or running a race on a
stationary bike.
So you are working hard butstay in the same place or you

(04:42):
don't go anywhere.
So the truest misplaced focusimpacts our work, our
relationships and even ourpersonal happiness.
So how do we fix this?
How can we fix this?
Let's see.
Let's talk a little bit aboutit.
So misplaced focus can show upin many parts of our lives.
Let's break it down.

(05:02):
The first one is the work right.
So many of us spend too muchtime on urgent tasks rather than
important ones.
Urgent tasks like replying toemails or fixing small problems,
feel productive, but they oftendistract us from bigger goals.

(05:23):
So, for example, imaginespending hours just to organize
files where you could have beenworking on a project that could
advance your career, you know.
So it's important, as I saidbefore, guys, it's important to
prioritize your tasks in a wayto redirect better your energy,

(05:43):
your focus on something towardssomething that truly matters,
you know.
Then we have relationships.
So, in relationships, misplacedfocus often means giving time
to the wrong people.
Have you ever spent hourstrying to please someone who
doesn't value your efforts?
How many times happens?
So?

(06:03):
Meanwhile, the people who trulycare about you, like your
family, close friends, get lessof your attention.
So that's not good.
So it's important to prioritize, you know, the right
relationships in a way to getthe right energy, in a way to go
forward also with your goal.
So it's important to choose theright people around you.

(06:25):
Personal goals, number three.
So, when it comes to personalgoals, distractions are
everywhere.
Okay, for instance, we mightfocus on looking busy rather
than making real progress.
So this could mean spendinghours researching how to start a
business instead of actuallytaking the first step instead of
actually, you know plan thereal step.

(06:49):
So what can we do about it?
The key is learning toprioritize, as always.
So here are some practicalstrategies that I like to
highlight, in this case, the80-20 rule.
Love it.
So.
The 80-20 rule is about focusingon the 20% of tasks that bring

(07:11):
80% of results.
Most of the times, what we dowe think truly matters.
So in that case, we dedicate somuch time, so much energy, but

(07:35):
then in the end, we get only 20%results right.
So it's important in this casebe smarter.
Try to understand clearly thenext step, a step that can give
you the right energy to goforward and to make the next

(07:58):
steps impactful.
Okay, then we have the timeblocking, so dedicate specific
times to important tasks andstick to them.
And third, say no.
How much important is to say no?
Sometimes, the best way toprotect your focus is by turning
down tasks that don't alignwith your goals.
Okay, so these strategies canhelp us take back control of our

(08:20):
focus and make meaningfulprogress in all areas of life.
Now we have another importantthing that I would like to talk
about.
There is something important, very important for me, that I've
learned about focus.
So focus is not just aboutdoing more, it's about doing the

(08:43):
right thing.
So think about what we saidbefore the 80-20 rule.
All right, so you can pick upsomething.
You know what?
I'm going to make a realexample to you.
You can, let's say, engage onInstagram, hoping to grow your

(09:06):
audience.
So you engage, you talk withthe people, you put, put a like,
maybe you do some follow andfollow some hacking strategy and
you try your best to grow youraudience, right, but then you
feel overwhelmed because youknow deeply that it's not the

(09:26):
right way to go forward.
In fact, yes, probably you'regoing to earn some followers,
but not as much as you wished, and then somehow you are so
drained that you decide to put abreak on it.
Okay, if you choose to work on acontent and you, let's say that

(09:47):
you are very sure about thecontent, you like the content,
and then what you're going to do, you are going to boost the
post.
I promise you guys that withfive or 10 year old Facebook ads
, you are going to get moreengagement, more likes, than
staying for, let's say, two days, engaging with the people,
right.

(10:07):
So in the first case, you workso hard for just a few followers
, but in the second case, youwork so hard for just a few
followers, but in the secondcase, like I explained, you work
smartly to get maybe two, threetimes the engagement that you
expect before.
All right, now I have somethingelse for you.

(10:27):
Think about this quote fromSteve Jobs.
So focus is about saying no tothe hundred other good ideas
that are there right.
So you have to pick carefullythe right one, the right idea.
So this idea changed myperspective completely, guys,
because it's true, it'simportant to pick up the right

(10:47):
idea, the right topic, the rightconcept, in a way to go forward
, be more targeted with yourthings.
To pick up the right idea, theright topic, the right concept,
in a way to go forward, be moretargeted with your things and
reach your goal, your success.
Because of it, I realize thatfocus is not just about working
harder anyway.
It's about working smarter.
I know you hear this phrasemore often and often, but it's

(11:09):
true.
It's about aligning youractions with your values and
goals.
So start by asking yourselfwhat truly matters to me, write
it down and use it as a guidewhenever you know you feel
distracted or overwhelmed.
Another part of our strategy isvisualization.
So picture your ideal life yourcareer, relationships, health.

(11:29):
So then ask yourself, whatshould I focus on today to bring
me closer to that vision?
These are good strategies tolevel up.
So let's recap a little bitMisplaced focus leads to stress
we know that Missedopportunities and frustration.
But by understanding where weare misallocating our attention

(11:53):
whether it's a work relationshipor with personal goals we can
start to make real changes.
Remember, it's not about beingperfect.
It's about making small, intentional shifts in where we
invest our time and energy.
Focus on, on what matters most, guys, and you will be amazed at
the progress you can make.

(12:14):
Now I would love to hear fromyou what is one area of your
life where you feel like yourfocus is off.
Share your thoughts in thecomments, or you know there is
the number.
Then you can just message medirectly if you like it.
If this episode helped you, please share it with someone who

(12:35):
might need to hear this message.
Your support means everythingto me and while I would love for
you, you know, to followJourney to Success, what's even
more important is that you taketoday's message and apply in
your life.
Thank you for spending thistime with me and remember
success starts with focusing onwhat truly matters.
