Speaker 1 (00:01):
Did you know that only 8% of people achieve their
New Year's goals?
Yes, exactly, you hearcorrectly, guys.
We're talking about only 8% ofpeople, just 8% of people
actually reach the goals theyset each year year.

(00:32):
That means, just to be precise, that 92% of us miss out on the
dreams we planned for ourselves.
Why is that?
What makes it so hard to turngoals into reality?
What is the reason?
So, in today's episode, we'regoing to explore what holds
people back and, mostimportantly, how to become part

(00:53):
of that 8% by setting goals thatactually work for you.
If you're ready to make 2025your breakthrough year, this
episode is for you.
Hi guys, my name is Fabio fromJourney to Success, and Merry
Christmas.
I hope you are all enjoyingthis day, whether you are with

(01:14):
family, friends or, you know, taking some time for yourself.
It's also okay.
It is the time of year when wereflect, you know, on what is
happening.
We are going to try to lookback at our achievements,
challenges and everythingbetween and today, especially,

(01:37):
we're going to talk aboutsomething powerful goal setting,
and why it can truly transformyour life.
So, as we approach 2025, it isthe perfect time to reflect on
what we want for the year ahead.
Setting goals is not just abouthaving dreams.

(01:59):
It's about creating a roadmapthat can lead the real challenge
and the real change as well.
So goals give us, let's say, apurpose.
All right, they gave.
Goals give us a direction andsomething to look forward to.

(02:19):
They help us grow and becomethe best version of ourselves.
But, of course, there is aright way and the wrong way to
set goals, so let's talk aboutit.
In this episode especially, I'mgoing to share tips to set
goals that work, goals that youcan stick to and goals that you

(02:41):
can achieve.
Goals that you can stick to andgoals that you can achieve, and
I will break it down in simplesteps to make it easy for you to
follow.
So let's dive in and get readyto make this your best year.
So why do so many of us strugglewith setting and achieving

(03:04):
goals?
What is the reason?
There are a few common reasons, guys, and I'm sure many of you
can relate to at least one ofthese.
First reason actually, it'smore than a reason.
It's a problem, a big problem.
It's a lack of clarity.
So many people set vague goalslike I want to be healthier or I

(03:28):
want to make more money.
You know the use of things.
While these are great ideas andnot goals, they're not clear or
specific.
So without knowing exactly whatyou want, it is hard to find
the right path forward,Especially for your brain.

(03:49):
If you don't know what you wantto achieve, you will never
achieve it, because youliterally don't know what you
want to achieve.
Okay, don't be vague, bespecific, be clear.
Another common challenge ismotivation.
So at the beginning of the yearor any new goal setting period,

(04:12):
we often feel super motivated, you know.
But as time passes, life getsbusy and the motivation fades.
So if the goal feels too big,it's easy to give up when things
get hard.
Lastly, there is the issue ofoverwhelm.

(04:37):
Sometimes we set so many goalsat once that we feel stressed
just thinking about them, or weaim too high, and you know we
end up feeling discouraged whenwe don't see quick results.
So it can make the wholeprocess feel frustrating, and

(04:57):
that is when most people give up.
I'm sure it sounds familiar foryou.
Don't worry, you are not alone.
As I say, we're talking about92% of people, so it's a lot of
people, truly, and let's behonest, these are very common
struggles.
All right, so don't feel guiltyor something, but there are

(05:18):
also ways to overcome them.
So in the next section, I'llshare how to set goals in a way
that makes them easier toachieve.
So let's talk.
Let's talk about solutions.
Right, that's what we are, that's what we're talking about.
That's the reason why I havethis podcast with you Journey to

(05:41):
Success.
So the good news is that goalsetting can be effective if we
use the right approach.
Okay, so one of the bestmethods is setting SMART goals.
And when I say one of the bestmethods is setting SMART goals,
I mean SMART goals S-M-A-R-T.
So SMART stands for Specific,Measurable, achievable, relevant

(06:09):
and Time-bound Goal.
I'm going to repeat again, incase you know you want to have a
paper or a pen SMART stands forSpecific, measurable,
achievable, relevant andtime-bound.
Now let me explain each part.

(06:30):
All right, pretty long.
So just have a seat, take apopcorn and hear me out.
First, a specific goal is clearand detailed.
Instead of say I want to behealthier, say I want to
exercise for 30 minutes, forexample, all right, three times

(06:51):
a week.
So the more specific your goal, the easier it is to focus on.
Next is measurable, so thismeans you should be able to
track your progress.
For example, if your goal is tosave money, decide on an exact

(07:11):
amount, like $500 a month.
Being able to measure yourprogress keeps you motivated, so
you have to understand how tomeasure your goal.
Then there is the achievableworld.
So set goals that arechallenging.
For sure, if you like to, youknow to dream big.

(07:35):
Your goal is a challenge goal, all right, but has not to be an
impossible goal.
So set goals that arechallenging but possible.
If you have never run before, aiming to complete a marathon in

(07:56):
a month might be unrealistic,okay.
Instead, start with a smallergoal, running one mile, for
example, and build it up.
Build it up later.
The fourth part is relevant.
Ask yourself if this goalaligns with your larger life

(08:16):
values.
I mean, does it contribute toyour overall vision?
A goal that matters to youpersonally is much easier to
stay committed to.
Finally, lastly, setting aclear deadline.

(08:43):
You know we're talking about atime bound.
Instead of I want to read more, you could say I want to read
one book per month.
Deadlines create a sense ofurgency that helps you take
action.
Most of us don't like deadlines.
I don't like either, and I haveto start to make it a couple

(09:04):
for my project.
The truth is that with theheadline, you speed it up a lot.
As I say, deadline creates asense of urgency.
It is a good way to go forward, but, of course, don't stress so
much, all right.
Try always to balance yourenergy.
Don't stress so much, all right.

(09:28):
Try always to balance yourenergy.
Now that we have broken downsmart goals, the next step is to
make a plan, all right.
So one of the best ways to dothis is by breaking the goal
into smaller, manageable steps.
This way, you don't feeloverwhelmed by the big picture.
So let's say, your goal is tosave €1,000.

(09:49):
So you could start by settingaside like 50 or each week.
Small steps add up and seeingprogress along the way keeps you
motivated.
Accountability is also important.
Tell a friend, family member orcolleague about your goal.
Share updates, don't be afraid.

(10:12):
Share updates with them, oreven check in weekly.
Knowing that someone else iswatching can inconsciently and
indirectly push you to keepgoing.
Another key is celebratingsmall wins.
So each step you take is asuccess.
You have to be smart torecognize it.

(10:36):
In this way, you're going to bemore excited, you know, about
moving forward At the end.
Lastly, remember to stayflexible.
So life happens and sometimeswe may need to adjust our goals.
That's normal.
You know, maybe you get sick orhave to take care of, let's say

(11:02):
, an unexpected task.
So adjusting your timeline orgoal is okay, as long as you
stay committed to your journey.
Now to show how powerful thesestrategies can be, all right,
let me share something with you.

(11:25):
A couple and some of theirfamily members who are friends
of mine and my fiancé, are verypassionate about wine.
They had a dream, and thisdream is to develop an app, an
app where teach people all abouthow wine works, with lessons

(11:46):
and everything.
They didn't have muchexperience, but they had passion
.
They have a lot of passion and,as you know in this podcast,
passion is one of the greatestfuel.
Even if you don't know where tostart, when you have passion,

(12:07):
it's just great.
You know you have fuel enoughto go forward.
So they decided to set specific, achievable goals.
So what I've noticed is thatthey broke their goal down into
smaller steps so researchingproducts, making courses they

(12:27):
studied a lot as well buildingthe app and promoting the app on
social media.
So, from my point of view, eachstep was manageable, as they
are still here making steadyprogress.
So they kept themselvesaccountable by sharing their
progress with us and, I'm sure, with their friends as well,

(12:49):
asking for feedback and so on.
So every small achievementmotivated them, even if it was
just choosing a business namethat ended up to be grapepe
Genius at the end, or designinga logo, you know.
So, not even a year later nowthey're already gaining hundreds

(13:13):
and hundreds of subscribers.
These small successes push themto keep going.
They're not there yet, but withpatience and a good dose of
faith, they will be.
They're on their way tothriving, you know, in the
online business world.
But you have to understandsomething, guys what started as

(13:36):
an unclear vision ended upbecoming a clear, specific goal,
leading them toward, eventually, to a big success, because they
stuck to their plan right, staymotivated and kept taking small
steps.
So their journey shows us that,no matter how big your dream is

(13:59):
, with the right goals and plan, faith, patience, passion, you
can achieve it.
And the best part, well, doesn't have to be perfect, all
right, you just need to keepmoving forward.
So let's recap a little bitwhat we have covered today, guys

(14:21):
.
Setting goals is a powerful wayto bring positive change into
our lives, all right, but tosucceed, we need to make those
goals specific, measurable,achievable, relevant and
time-bound smart.
So breaking down big goals intosmall steps can keep us

(14:47):
motivated and reduce the feelingof overwhelm.
Don't forget the importancealso of accountability and
celebrating each step along theway.
So remember, success doesn'tcome from doing everything
perfectly.
You know, we're not talkingabout that, it's not that at all

(15:08):
.
It comes from making steadyprogress, each day, weekly.
Every small step counts.
Set a goal that excites youguys, make a plan and commit to
it.
With the right approach, 2025can be the year you achieve what

(15:30):
you've been dreaming of, Ipromise you.
Now I would love to hear fromyou what are your goals for 2025
?
Have you tried setting smartgoals before?
Did it help?
Share your experience in thecomments.

(15:50):
I would love to know what youare working towards and if you
found today's episode helpful, please share it with someone who
might need a little motivationto start their own journey to
success.
Your support, as you know, really means a lot to me.
And remember, every smallaction counts.

(16:11):
So take that first step towardyour goal.
I wouldn't say today, I wouldsay in a week, but do it.
I would say in a week, but doit and you know, move forward
With good, steady progress.
You're going to achieve it.
Thanks for tuning into Journeyto Success.

(16:33):
Let's make 2025 a year ofgrowth and achievement, one step
at a time.
Merry Christmas and Happy NewYear, guys, cheers.
