The Lives of Lamoille County, a podcast about people in Lamoille County, Vermont who have lived experience of homelessness or housing insecurity. Each episode features an interview with a person telling their story of the intersection of their lives and their experience of homelessness. Moving beyond stereotypes and stigmas, we seek to see the person who experiences homelessness in all their full human complexity.

In this episode, I interview Annette, a woman who has past experience with homelessness. We follow her journey through marriage, divorce, alcoholism and homelessness to recovery. Her story is a testament to the ability of people to find strength and hope even through times of isolation and devastation.
Today's podcast was recorded on a very auspicious occasion: the day Jimmy signed a lease on an apartment after years of being in and out of shelters and living on the streets.
In this episode, Jimmy talks about his early years in a family that struggled with alcohol abuse, then found love and loss, homelessness and addiction, and, ultimately, recovery, and the work it takes to get there.
