God wants to take your old sinful nature, your past, and your failures and make everything new: Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The new name that God wants to give you will attract the Gentiles (the nations) because they will see a difference in your life: And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name. (Isaiah 62:2)
