(00:48):
On to the true Strange Tober stories here on Madam
Strangeways. Working at an old Blockbuster by
(01:19):
Megan. I worked at a Blockbuster.
I'm old I know back in 2008 or 2009 and when I got started they
talked about how it was haunted.I thought they were just giving
me a hard time being the New Girl.
They said in the right back corner of the store once in a
while you'd hear someone who would sound like your Co worker
(01:43):
say your name but it wouldn't bethem who did it.
And that once in a while a customer would come in at night,
go to that part of the store anddisappear.
Then one slow night as my manager is training me, a man
walks in. We greeted him and then my
manager went back to discussing the pop machine with me.
(02:04):
He was the only customer in the store at that time.
My manager was going to take me to the back room to grab more
soda and refill the cooler. We were standing right by the
soda machine in front of the checkout this entire time, so
between both entrance and exit doors no one could get in or out
without us seeing. He said let's make sure he
(02:28):
doesn't need anything before we go to the back.
So we walked over to the corner where he went and he wasn't
there. We did a loop around the whole
store and he wasn't there, he was just gone.
Mind you no matter where in the store you are you can still see
the doors so he didn't circumvent us and exit without
(02:51):
us seeing. My manager looked perplexed for
a second then said huh usually it's a woman and just headed for
the back room. Another night we had a staff
meeting and we were sitting on the floor in that back corner
and I very clearly heard and felt someone behind me whisper
(03:12):
my name right in my ear. I whipped my head around because
I thought my Co worker who was sitting behind me was the one
who had whispered but they were sitting reclined back on their
hands. No way they could have moved
fast enough into that position after whispering in my ear
without me seeing. My manager stopped what he was
(03:33):
saying and asked if I needed something.
I just looked at him and said no, and his mouth kind of
quirked up in an educated guess sort of smile.
And he continued on. It's a Jimmy John's now and I
always wonder if they have any weird happenings there at night.
(04:07):
Remembering the Ouija Board 35 Years later by Chris Way back in
1990, my wife and I were rentinga small house way back in the
woods of rural Maine. We got one station, PBS, and we
could only watch so much red green.
(04:28):
We went to a yard sale and my wife bought a Ouija board.
I didn't have any problems with it because my mother frequently
used one as a form of entertainment while growing up.
Well, we eventually got around to using it and I do remember
that we treated it as a game. And at first, that's exactly
what happened. It was entertaining enough each
(04:50):
time we used it. We had some laughs and left it
at that. But one night that changed.
My wife asked the board if it could tell us if something
important was going to happen. The board for the first time
seemed to work and spelled out you're pregnant.
Come to find out she was a monthpregnant at that time.
(05:12):
This was a long time ago and I'mtrying to remember as best as I
can, but I also remember that she engaged in a conversation
and was told that we were talking to the spirit of a child
who had passed away many years before and that we would
eventually understand why all this was happening.
(05:33):
Unfortunately, the next few times we used the board, there
seemed to be an aggressive tone,as if we were no longer engaged
with the same spirit. My wife actually got so
frightened that she put the board in the wood stove and
burned it. Anyways, we no longer live near
there, but we were passing through a few weeks ago and
(05:54):
decided to drive by where we once lived.
The house is no longer there, replaced with a new home.
Right before the house there's asmall graveyard and for some
reason she got out and walked over to it.
After I had pulled over. She walked up to a small marker
on a child's grave and the name was Miles Myles, the same name
(06:20):
we gave our son. I don't know, maybe it's just a
coincidence. She turned around immediately
getting very emotional, grabbed my arm and said we have to leave
now. She started crying on the way
home and she still won't tell mewhat happened to her there.
Am I reading too much into this?I honestly have no idea what to
(06:44):
make of it all. 11 years ago I lived in a
haunted house by Kawaii demon Bunny.
(07:05):
I've never posted this anywhere before but I still think about
this regularly when I was 14. I'm 25 now.
The house my dad lived in, well it was more of a shed converted
into a tiny home. I'm convinced it was haunted.
A few different things happened. Each one solidified my belief
(07:27):
that something was really happening there.
It started with what I first passed off as sleep paralysis.
I would not be able to move anything other than my head.
One night I couldn't even open my eyes and it felt like
something the size of a fully grown man sat with his full
weight on my chest. Another time I saw something
(07:50):
dark and shadowed crouched in the corner of the room and after
about 15 or 20 minutes I was finally able to move just enough
to turn on my lamp and there wasnothing there and nothing that
could have cast a shadow or be mistaken for what I saw.
Another time I heard what sounded like a bird or a bat
(08:11):
flying around my room. The flapping noise was very loud
and definitely was not coming from outside.
I also want to mention that my room locked from the inside and
the window was closed. The reason I know that this
wasn't just a case of sleep paralysis was that it only ever
happened in this house. Not at my mom's or grandparents
(08:35):
or friends. Only ever at my dad's.
And honestly, at first I thoughtI was losing my mind.
But then something happened thatmade me realize that whatever
was happening was real. My dad and I were sitting in the
kitchen with the door to the outside open.
It was night so you could only see as far as the kitchen light
(08:58):
went when all of a sudden I saw something or someone walk past
the door. It looked like a young teen girl
in a white dress and semi long black or dark brown hair.
At first I thought I'd imagined it but then my dad said did you
see that? Chills.
(09:20):
I asked what he saw and he described exactly what I saw.
I still get chills thinking about it even now while writing
this. I never saw her again but I will
never forget it. She didn't look fully there, not
completely see through, but likeshe was only 95% there.
(09:42):
I felt wrong. I kept seeing, hearing and
feeling things when I was in beduntil he moved.
(10:03):
