Michelle Kuei (00:00):
Last week I wrote an article about the five
effective holiday marketingstrategies that you can use
during the holiday to stayvisible without disappearing on
social or from your coachingbusiness in general.
And I published this articlebecause I see so many coaches

(00:22):
just suddenly disappear duringthe holiday.
And honestly, I totally get it.
It feels like it's been a longyear.
There's a lot of things to dothat during the holidays, and
you might want to take some timeoff.
So totally understandable.
But in this episode, I'm goingto share the five effective
holiday marketing strategiesthat doesn't require you extra

(00:46):
to-do lists or extra bandwidth, but you can still stay in front
of your audience.
Let's get started.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Hey coach, welcome to Make It Visible Podcast.
I'm Michelle Quay, yourvisibility marketing coach, and
I help female life coaches toget seen in all the right
places, attract happy payingclients, and build a coaching
business that actually feelsgood to run.
Even if you are still trying tofigure things out.
Each week I'm giving youvisibility tips, simple

(01:16):
marketing strategies, andshowing you how to create the
kind of content that connectswith your audience so that you
can stand out, build yourauthority, and attract clients
who's already feeling like a yesbefore they jump onto your
discovery call.
So grab a notebook, pouryourself a favorite drink, and
that's make your coachingbusiness visible.

Michelle Kuei (01:40):
Okay, so holiday is upon us and two school of
thoughts.
One is you should be on socialand you should be promoting like
there's no tomorrow.
And if you do not have a BlackFriday sales, then you might
want to consider coming up onebecause this is a great time
that people are starting to lookto buy.

(02:01):
Now, there's the other side ofthe coin where some business
mentor and coaches will tell youjust take this time to reflect,
to recover from the year ofwork, and this is a great time
to think about the goals thatyou're going to have in 2026.
Now, here's my thought.

(02:23):
Your audience are expecting tosee you no matter what month of
the year or what season you'rein, they expect to see you have
some type of activity going onthroughout the year.

(02:44):
And that's how visibilityworks.
And that is actually, myfriend, how your social media
algorithm works.
So if you decided I'm going togo quiet for this whole holiday
season, let's say it's startingin October, maybe kids are off
from school and you have a fullagenda that you have to take

(03:05):
care of, and maybe you stillwork at a corporate job.
So during this time of theyear, all the things are start
wrapping up and you need to getthe numbers in before the new
year's come.
So from October, November, andDecember, what do you do?
You stay busy and you staypretty much quiet or silence

(03:26):
because this is a time of theyear where you start going into
that hibernation mode.
But if that is you, my friend, then there's something I need
you to hear about this, okay?
Because visibility, like Isaid, it's not something that
you turn it on and turn it offand you're good to go, right?
Your audience are expecting tosee you.
So there's that level ofconsistency that you need to

(03:48):
maintain.
You don't need to be full onpresent on social and being like
doing all the things, but youshould connect with your
audience, with your friend.
So here are five very easy andvery genuine and authentic ways
of how it would help you to stayvisible, stay connected, and

(04:11):
also stay grounded because youdo want to take this time to
reflect how the year went andwhat would be your goal for the
upcoming year.
You are in that planning modeof what do I want to do when the
new years come?
So here are the five easy, effective holiday marketing
strategies, and you can apply itpretty much throughout the

(04:32):
year.
So the first one is this is agreat time to reflect and
reconnect without having to doputting out new offer or
creating a holiday sales thatfeels like it's disconnected to
your brand.
This is a great time toreconnect with yourself, your
messaging, your audience.

(04:53):
If you've been neglectingtalking to the people within
your network, or maybe it's yourfriend circle, or maybe it's
your family circle, this wouldbe a great time of the year to
actually reach out to them andsay, hey, I've been thinking
about you, how are you doing, and just catching up what
happened, where the year went, where the time go.

(05:14):
And maybe it's some of yourpast clients that you might be
able to reach out to and justcatch up with what they're up
to.
And you'll be surprised thatduring this time, how people
remember you and how people areso open to receive your warm
messages.
So take this time to reflectand reconnect, and you don't

(05:38):
have to market yourself.
So if we think about marketing, sometimes it feels very salsy.
It feels, oh, I have to show uplike putting on the mask and I
have to be all that, be someonewho I am not.
But you don't have to do that.
Just show up being authenticand you care about people.
So just go out there and makethat connection.
Reconnect with your pastclient, reconnect with your

(05:59):
friend circle, reconnect withpeople that you have not spoken
for quite some time.
And ask them, what are youworking on?
And how can I be a service for?
You can just offer somesupport, emotional support,
mental support, whatever thatlooks like.
So this would be a great timeto reach out to them.

(06:19):
Strategy number two is todeliver the value.
I know you probably heard thisso many times, but delivering
the value, what does that mean?
During this time, there is alot of people who's stressed,
who's feeling overwhelmed.
So maybe you have a couple oftips that you use and that have
worked for you to address theoverwhelm, especially during the

(06:40):
holiday season, or maybe forthose who don't have any loved
one to sit around forThanksgiving dinner or holiday
dinner, maybe those are thepeople that you can help and
support.
And so show up and just begenuine, talk to these people
and addressing the fact thathey, I know you're out there and

(07:01):
I know you may feel aloneduring this time of the season,
but I totally get it.
I totally understand.
Here are some of the tips thathave worked for me, and
hopefully by sharing this, thatwould also work for you too.
So that is what we mean bydelivering value, understanding
and making your audience feelthat they are seen.
Strategy number two.

(07:22):
So that was simple, right?
That doesn't require you tohave any type of marketing
skill, and that it should besomething that you can do
throughout the year.
So, what are some of theexamples?
So, I'll give you some examplesof what type of value that you
can provide.
So, let's say you have a lifecoaching business and you're a
life coach.
And what does that look like?
It could be that here's athree-minute mindset reset

(07:43):
before your family gathering.
Sometimes a family gatheringmakes us very nervous and we
don't know how to start or endthe conversation during those
family gatherings.
So maybe you have a tip onthree minutes mindset reset that
you can offer to your audience.
What will be another one?
Why resting is stillproductive.

(08:04):
Someone who is going throughand who don't know how to set
the boundary for themselves andtaking time to enjoy the off
season, maybe those are thepeople that you're helping.
You can create content thattalk about why reset or resting
is still productive.
So that would be another ideafor you if you are in the life

(08:25):
coach space.
The third way of uh effectivestrategy during the holiday is
to nurture your currentaudience.
Like I said, there's a lot ofpeople who have friend requested
you, or maybe you added them aspart of your friend circle,
your network.
This is a good time to connectwith them.
So maybe you didn't have timeto send them a DM and say, hey,

(08:48):
we connected and just wanted toget to know you, or just
introduce yourself and just sendthem a warm holiday wishes,
then this would be a great timeto do that because now you're
sitting there and you'rebrowsing through television or
trying to shop shopping network.
This would be a great time toactually send them a DM or post
something about your adventureduring the holidays.

(09:11):
Instead of chasing the new one, instead of looking for, oh,
where can I find a newconnection?
Maybe this is a time to focuson the people who's already in
your circle.
Your followers, maybe it's youremail list, maybe it's your
podcast listener, maybe it'syour past client or your peers,
anyone you already know who's inyour network, you want to reach

(09:33):
out to them, just give them athank you message, or send them
a little nudge, or send them alittle holiday wishes, anything
that you can get to start thatconversation.
And people appreciate thatgesture.
This morning I actually receivea message from one of my coach
friends.
She sent me a message and she'sthinking of you and wishing you

(09:56):
a holiday.
And so, just a message likethat, it just makes you smile.
If you receive it first thingin the morning, it just makes
you smile and knowing thatsomeone out there is thinking of
you.
So do that for your audience, your current audience, before
you start chasing the new ones.
Strategy number four is lookfor collaboration and maybe look

(10:18):
for other podcasts or othersimilar collaboration that you
would like to be on, to be inthe new room.
Now, this is something that Ido very often, especially
towards the end of the year, isthat I would look for podcasts
or I would respond to anypodcast invites that would like

(10:39):
me to speak to their audiencebecause some of us we have
slower season, like during theholiday, a lot of people are not
thinking about signing up bigpackage for coaching.
But so it would be a great timeto think about how I can build
my visibility and build myauthority, right?
Build my credibility so that Iam not completely off the grid.

(11:03):
And by January comes, thepodcast will be released, and
there's a whole lot of momentumthat's already in place, and I
don't have to do extra workbecause I use the slow season to
do the visibility, to do theauthority building, to do the
credibility building.
So do not go silence, look forcollaboration while everybody

(11:24):
else is checking out for theholiday.
You can still leverage thistime to do some credibility and
authority building.
So consider that collaborationand be seen in the new room.
Strategy number five is verysimple.
Simplify your marketing withjust one aligned focus.
So maybe you don't have enoughtime.

(11:45):
Maybe you have relatives comingover, maybe you're busy to.
I want to challenge you to justpick one task and one task only
during the holiday.
So it could be I'm just goingto post every Monday, or I'm
just going to post every Fridayto give everybody an update.
Or it could be just sending oneemail, or maybe writing one

(12:09):
blog post or recording onepodcast.
And that would be your task forthat month or for that week,
whatever is reasonable andfeasible to your schedule, to
your calendar.
You want to just focus on onesimple task over the next four
weeks because that allows you tokeep up with your momentum

(12:30):
without dropping it.
And it also builds yourcontent.
So if you think about what Ihave just said now, focus on one
thing and posting once everyweek, or writing a blog post, or
recording a podcast, you getone piece of content every
month.
What do you do with thatcontent?
Now you can use that, you canrepurpose it into a social media

(12:53):
post.
Maybe it's a video in thefuture.
And in fact, the reason why I'mrecording this podcast is
because I already wrote thatarticle and now you get to hear
it in a podcast format.
So I am going to link thearticle down in the description
box below so that you, if youprefer reading or if you need to
be out there and doingsomething and you rather read,

(13:14):
then you can go ahead and readthat article.
But for those of you who's on aquick run, or maybe you're
listening to the episode insidethe car, then you get an
opportunity to do the audioversion.
So one article, one podcastepisode, there's multiple ways
of how you can repurpose it inthe future.

(13:36):
Now, with all that said, one ofthe big mistakes I see a lot of
live coaches run into is thatthey jump into marketing without
doing the basic, they withoutdoing the foundational step.
Marketing is like your sixthand seventh step in that

(13:56):
coaching business startingjourney.
If you think about starting acoaching business, it's climbing
Machu Picchu.
Like climbing Machu Picchu.
You need to have preparationand steps in order to get to the
top of the summit.
I didn't just show up and wokeup one day and then all of a
sudden I'm on this Machu Picchusummit.
I had to do a lot ofpreparation.

(14:18):
So same thing with marketing.
Before you get up to the summitand say, you know what?
I can comfortably talk about mypackage.
I can comfortably know thatthere's consistent inflow of
clients coming in.
Before you can do all that, there are actually seven steps
of how you get there.
And I created the clientenrollment method, which

(14:42):
involved these seven steps.
The seven steps of what youneed to do in order to get to
the top of the summit.
So now imagine your coachingbusiness is on the top of the
summit.
You want clients to be in yourcoaching business.
Where are they?
They're all down there in thebottom of the foothill.
They don't even know that youexist up there.
So no matter how much you'reshouting or how loud you're

(15:05):
talking up on the summit, they're not going to be able to
hear you.
So you gotta create thatstep-by-step process to invite
your potential client, yourprospect, to come up with you so
that you can change your lives.
So how do you what are thoseseven steps?
I actually created a seven-stepcoaching business starter

(15:26):
checklist.
It's more than just achecklist, it's actually an
exercise that takes you throughthese seven steps to set you the
foundation that you're going toneed.
It's a roadmap that shows youexactly what every profitable
coaching business needs andwhere you might be missing a
step.
Again, I see a lot of lightcoaches jumping to the fact

(15:48):
that, oh, I'm I got certifiedand therefore I'm going to jump
straight into marketing.
And that's where theirmarketing is not working for
them.
So I don't want that to happento you.
So go ahead and there's a linkin the description in this
episode.
Go ahead and grab it.
It's completely free.
Seven-step coaching businessstarter checklist.
You can grab it during theholiday, take some time to go

(16:11):
through the exercise.
And if you need, if you needit, I created an assessment
based on the seven-step coachingbusiness starter checklist.
And these are the seven stepsinside my client enrollment
method.
So the client enrollment methodinvolves seven areas of each of

(16:31):
these steps that you need inorder to build that coaching
business.
Now I created an assessment foryou so that you can see
specifically which step ismissing in your coaching
business.
Some of you may be themessaging, some of you may be
the signature offer.
So you might have like multipledifferent offers, and nobody is

(16:52):
buying any one of these offersbecause you haven't figured out
what is that signature offer andwhat does it do for people.
So if you want to take thatassessment, there's also a link
in the description box downbelow.
And when you take theassessment, what I will do is I
will look at your assessmentresult and I'm going to

(17:13):
personally record a video foryou to walk you through exactly
what is your next step.
Now it's totally and entirelyup to you.
If after watching the video, you're clear, you're like, thank
you so much.
I got my clarity, I don't needanything else, then off you go.
But if after watching the videoand you realize that you need

(17:36):
more support, I have a freestrategy call that you can set
up with me so we can talk abouthow to implement that missing
step.
So the assessment link is alsoin the description box down
below.
Go ahead and take theassessment.
And like I said, once I get theassessment result in, I will go
over it.
I will personally record avideo for you and I will send

(17:58):
that over to you.
Now, all this to say is duringthe holiday, please be visible.
You don't have to do put on afull-on marketing show.
You don't have to do all theseBlack Friday promotions every
single day, which by the way Iam doing.
So make sure to check youremail.
If you're on my newsletter, make sure to check your email.

(18:20):
I have something for you forevery different level of
coaching business you're in andfor every budget that works for
you.
So be sure to check your email.
You don't have to do all this, but at least, at the very least,
be visible, try and connectwith your audience so that they
wouldn't forget you and itwouldn't be such an extra work

(18:41):
by January when January comes.
So comment down below and letme know, or hit reply to my
email and let me know.
I would love to hear whatyou're planning to do during the
holiday season and what is thatone task, one task that you're
going to do for the next 30days.
Until then, happy coaching, andI will see you in the next
