Where aware are you tonight?
What if I told you that there'smore to it?
That there are benefits andresources from heaven that are
available to help you in thislife.
And you've never heard about it.
Are you curious?
Well, join Gordon Merrill as hedigs deeper into making heaven
real in this life.

SPEAKER_00 (00:33):
Welcome back to Making Heaven Real.
Where aware are you tonight?
Is the beginning line of achorus of a song written
actually back in 1952 by LeeRoberts.
Kind of made popular by the 70sTV show Hee-Haw.

(00:53):
But it has a different meaningfor those of us who have
recently experienced a fresh,devastating loss and grief.
Makes you wonder where's anybodytonight or today?

(01:16):
One of the things I hear a lotis, have I been completely
abandoned by God as well aseverybody else?
And initially the quick andshort and easy answer to that is
no.
Even though you may be in a spotright now where you don't think

(01:38):
that's true.
You don't feel that.
But I can tell you it is true.
Having gone through that verysame situation, going through
that very same darkness whereyou wonder if anybody is

(02:03):
listening.
If anybody is around, if anybodycares.

(03:12):
So I want to kind of branch outon that a little bit more from
last week.
Again, the short answer is no.
You are never, ever, ever alone.

(03:33):
We've talked about thephysiological changes of a
severe devastating loss and howthat affects your body and how
your mind does strange thingsbecause your body is in a state
of emergency trying to recover.
And in a state of emergencysimilar to what you've learned

(03:55):
as fight or flight, somethingshut down so that those critical
core functions can still happen.
Last week we got into whatheaven calls the grief gate.

(04:16):
And in that case, it's kind oftwofold.
Until you have this devastatinggrief, you probably don't even
take the time to look for a newdoorway to communicate with
heaven.

(04:38):
But at the same time, grief doesalso create this new doorway.

(05:31):
I just didn't really know what Iwas listening for.
And that's where the changes tothe doorway start us down the
path of learning the languageand the communication of spirit.

(06:01):
God provided our spirits to gointo this human suit that we're
occupying so that we can be onthis earth for this human
experience to learn to grow andmature.
At the same time, what we alsolearned is that God sent our

(06:28):
spirit.

(07:08):
And this particular lifetimethat we're in is one of those
major classes on our collegedegree.
So stop and think for me with mefor a minute on how this looks.

(07:35):
And one of our sons, we'll callhim junior, just graduated from
high school, and he's excited ashe can be to go off to college.
And in a month, college is goingto start.
So the family starts puttingthings together to move junior
to college.

(07:56):
He chose the college about fourstates away because he didn't
want to be close to the familyor have the family come bother
him and or embarrass him on aregular basis.
But when JR starts college,nothing really has changed
except his location.

(08:19):
He still has a loving family athome.
He still has his support systemat home.
He still has Dad's credit cardto keep him in food while he's
still at college.
And he always has someone tolisten when times are hard.

(08:39):
Someone to offer advice, someoneto help point him in the right
direction, someone to love himunconditionally.
So here we are.
We are spirits in thisclassroom.

(09:02):
In this college session wherewe're learning.
So we still have a loving familyat home.
We still have a support systemin heaven.

(09:25):
We still have a heavenly fatherwho provides everything we need
on this journey.
We have a spirit team that'shere to listen when times are
hard.
We have a spirit team to offeradvice and guidance, to even

(09:46):
plan our day if we let them.
But all of them and everythingthat's in heaven loves us
unconditionally.
Every spirit has the heavenlytie.

(10:11):
And how strong is that tie?
God gave us as a spirit to thisearthly body for this
experience.
But as we have talked about andas we learn in Scripture, every
spirit has a heavenlybirthright.

(10:38):
Heavenly equity is available,our spirit teams available, our
guardian angels available.
And as a spirit we have aninherent right to abundance,
love and manifestation.

(11:00):
Do you really think a spiritwith all of that behind him
would be left alone?
I've hinted to my exampleseveral times through some of
these episodes, but I wanted tolook at this by just a different

(11:20):
glance at the same situation tofit what we're talking about
today.
My life with my late wife wasabsolutely amazing.

(11:43):
I have called her my earth angelmany times.
Literally.

(12:06):
And when she departed andgraduated the way I call it, she
graduated when she got done withher her plan here.
But when she departed, theweekend before, we spent
together doing wonderful thingstogether.
Went on a trip, just not toofar, but just a day trip.

(12:31):
Had fun, did a lot of thingstogether, really enjoyed the
weekend.
Monday she started the processof having lab tests that sent
her to the emergency room thatsent her to have this procedure
done that she never came out of.

(12:54):
So you go from several years ofabsolute, for lack of a better
term, heaven on earth for me.
And this was an absolutelywonderful weekend.
And then she goes downstairs tohave this procedure that the
doctor says we do all the time.
She'll be back in 30 minutes.

(13:14):
And she's gone.
Is we're not around our kids.

(13:35):
We're not around our family.
We were in an area that's whereshe used to grow where she grew
up and where she used to live.
Not much had happened aroundthere where we had the option to
meet with a lot of peoplebecause of COVID.

(13:59):
Didn't have a whole lot offriends.
And both of us work from home.
So there's no co-workers tomingle with.
Not a lot of family to minglewith.
And as I've expressed a coupletimes in previous episodes, two

(14:20):
different denominations didn'twant anything to do with us.
Or me after this.
So here I am in a town that Idon't know a whole lot of
people.
And not even the neighbors wantto be out and available and

(14:41):
talk.
I spend a lot of time day to daywalking around looking to heaven
and going, Why can't I hear you?
Why are you not there?

(15:01):
And when I'm finally askingheaven one day, why is it that
no one knows how to handlegrief?
Why is it that spiritualcommunities don't know to hand
how to handle their people andteach them and help them through
these times?
As you've heard me say on herebefore, that's when heaven spoke

(15:24):
to me and said, It's time for usto teach them.
And that's why making heavenreal is here.
There's no way, with everythingI just told you, about the
heavenly tie and the spirit sentfrom heaven for this college

(15:44):
experience, that heaven's goingto turn their back on you ever,
at any time.
Scripture promises, I will neverleave you nor forsake you.
I have given you life and a lifeto be more abundant.

(16:07):
Anything you need, ask, and itwill happen.
And I have given you a love thatis unconditional, unending,
boundless, and eternal.
Your life's plan, including thedevastating loss and grief, is

(16:33):
the plan that has made you you.
In order to clear the path tocommunicate to heaven, we have
to refocus.
Tune that station in on the dialbetter.
To do that, you stop resistingyour story, you quit trying to

(16:55):
hide your loss and grief underthe cover.
Accept it.
Stop avoiding your feelings andstart really feeling.
Start seeing what you have neverallowed yourself to see before.
A lot of what you hear righthere falls into that category.

(17:21):
Things that you've never beenallowed to see or that you've
never allowed yourself to seeclearly before.
So you are never alone.
You've never been alone.
You will never be alone.
Your team has been with you thewhole time.

(17:42):
And when you clear your mind andfocus on your spiritual support
that's available to you, clearyour thoughts and open your
thoughts to heaven.
That's when you'll find yourteam.
They are ready to help and readyto help you here.
When you allow them to speak,guide you, and manage your day.

(18:09):
Totally real in your life.
