I'm telling you this story because Ireally can't even believe that it happened.
So my father owns a small deliveryservice that operates out of Farmington, New
Mexico. We mostly deliver small packagesout of the middle of nowhere that are
too much of a hassle for thelarge delivery companies to bother with. My
dad is the only employee and wehave a few pickup trucks and a few

trailers. So one day we geta delivery out to wind Rock, Arizona,
on the Navajo reservation. It's abouttwo hours from Farmington. My dad
gets the call for the job,and while he is chilling with his Navajo
friend Travis and Travis's girlfriend, Travismentions that he has family in Window Rock

(00:51):
and that it's been a very longtime since he's seen them. So he
says that he'll go with us,which is great. So I was actually
about six or seven at the timewhen this happened, and it was the
summertime, and my dad decides thatwe'll just all go down there together.
He can do his delivery, Traviscan see his family. It's a wind
wind for everyone. So Window Rockis just a big rock face with a

large hole in it that goes tothe other side. It's pretty cool.
We had a convoy in separate trucks. Since my dad's was loaded with freight.
We decided to bring along some Waukietalkies so that we could talk to
one another. We spend our timein window Rock. Everything is pretty much
uneventful, so we start heading homealong the old highway. When my dad

and I are in the front ofthe convoy, Travis and his girlfriend are
in the truck behind us. Ihonestly don't even remember a lot about window
Rock about that trip anyways, butthis the next part I will never forget.
We're somewhere on the highway between windowRock and Gallup, New Mexico,

(01:59):
and it had rained earlier in theday and the road was kind of slick,
so we were taking it pretty slow. On the left of the highway
there was nothing but some sandstone cliffs. Into the right is a huge field
separated from the road by a smallbarbed wire fence. We make our way
up to the top of the hilland down at the bottom of the hill

(02:20):
we see what looks like a largedog sitting hunched in the middle of the
road, facing the cliffs. Mydad calls over the radio, Hey,
t you see that big gass dog. Travis starts yelling over the radio.
He says, it's not a dog. It's not a dog. You have
to hit it. Hit that freakingthing now, I'm not kidding. Hit
it. So my dad starts tospeed up, and we get a little

bit closer, and I begin tosee it more clearly. Now it's covered
in brown, wiry, matted hair. It appears to have dry blood all
over it, and it's still facingthe cliffs. But the moment that our
headlights hit it, it turns andlook at us, and it has a
face and I don't know how todescribe it. It was like a mix

(03:06):
between a bear's face and a human'sface. It looked twisted and disorted,
almost like it was in pain.As we get closer, still sitting with
its back hunched and its shoulders wouldhave came to the hood of our truck,
we get literally inches from hitting itwhen it lets out us scream,
a scream that is like nothing I'veever heard. It was like lungs filled

(03:28):
with water, and then it leaptbackwards towards the field. It landed on
the side towards the barb wire fence. Then it was gone from sight.
Travis comes over the radio again,Holy shit, you have to keep driving.
We have to get out of here. Go Goo Goo Google. We
have to go as fast as wecan. He kept repeating this part.
We have to get out of here. We have to get out of here.
So we floored it. Pretty soonwe're speeding like crazy, and as

(03:50):
we start to come near the outskirtsof Gallop we get pulled over. Travis
pulls his trick over with us.Naturally, this makes the cop and navajo
man himself a little on edge,and he immediately asked why Travis felt the
need to pull his truck over aswell, and Travis utters the words,
I'll never forget. We just sawa skin walker a few miles back,

(04:12):
and it's following us. The officerimmediately turns white, stampers something about just
a verbal warning, and then getsin his car and takes off. We
do the same. We didn't seeanything else that night, but then we
got home and Travis refused to letus leave without taking some kind of navajo
totem. This thing was supposed tokeep whatever that was away, and I
