Nicolas Burtey is the CEO and co-founder of Galoy, a company he started in 2019 to advance Bitcoin adoption through innovative financial infrastructure. Originally from Europe, Burtey has become a prominent figure in the Bitcoin ecosystem, driven by a mission to make Bitcoin accessible and practical for organizations and communities worldwide. Before focusing on banks, he gained recognition for co-developing the Bitcoin Beach Wallet (now Blink), which played a key role in grassroots Bitcoin adoption in El Salvador, particularly in the Bitcoin Beach project in El Zonte. His work has shifted over time from community-focused tools to enterprise solutions, reflecting his evolving strategy to integrate Bitcoin into mainstream finance.
