(00:10):
What does the nanny do? OK, so we're done.
Goodbye. You shut it off.
Do not twist my words. Do not make me a victim.
Sweetie, Just look at the mountain.
That's what you saw that day. Just the knife in the kidneys
over all these years and the sacrifices that I made to love

(00:32):
you. Season 5 episode 8 hard to say
goodbye goodbye. It started out well, but you

(01:00):
know, it's just kind of like a lot of our sister wives journey.
Who knows where it's going to end.
This is the season finale of season 5.
I hope you're ready. Buckle up because it's a
moderate ride. A little bit of housekeeping to
start the episode. I recently saw a notification

(01:20):
from Spotify come in saying that based on the number of listens
and listener hours and all of that, like the stats, the
analytics for our show, that other shows that get as many
plays as ours have four times as many followers.
Now this is a stat that I'm not mad at because that actually

(01:42):
means that plenty of people are listening to our show in
comparison to people that are following.
So another show has like 4 times as many followers as
subscribers as us on average getthe same number of plays as
us. The ask that I have with this
little bit of housekeeping is that if you listen to our show
every week, but you're not following, you haven't

(02:04):
subscribed, you just see it comeup every week.
Well, we love that and we appreciate it.
But if you wouldn't mind taking this minute to go hit follow or
subscribe on Spotify or Apple Podcasts or YouTube or wherever
you're listening to us right now, it would be awesome.
And we would really appreciate it because that does give us
some boost in the algorithm, youknow, shows us to other people

(02:27):
that are listening to like shows.
And it would just be really helpful.
And realistically, there are other shows I listen to where
they beat people over the head every week to like, follow and
do whatever. And we don't do that.
We don't do that. This is just our once a season.
Ask to please follow and
subscribe if you haven't already, even though you're

(02:48):
listening. And we appreciate the listens,
of course. Please like and follow and
subscribe. Yes, absolutely.
Through that home skillet. Thank you anyway.
I'm like some O'Brien potatoes, you know, some onions and some
Peppers in there. You know, I would actually liken
you to some Groton potatoes. Or what did we?

(03:12):
I think I'm all kinds of. Potatoes.
The kinds of the boxed potatoes are better, even though you
think that the homemade ones would be better, but not the box
ones are better, baby. And that's us all the way.
And I could be any kind of spud you want.
Any kind at all. I'm flexible when it comes to
potatoes. Frami Dami laid to the side me

(03:33):
like Meri's hair. And Meri's hair was definitely
abundant. And here.
In this episode. Lots of Meri's hair.
Screaming for help as per usual.
As per usual. Oh man.
So to start this episode, we areof course, going to be talking
about the homes because, you know, as you said when we were

(03:55):
watching the show, like we're talking about the homes, we're
talking about Meri being preggers or not preggers.
It's like, Oh my God, how many seasons do we have to wrap
talking about this same stuff? Well, we get the recap.
We hear about Logan's UNLV announcement.
We hear about Meri's French doors and not having the gliding

(04:16):
doors. And Kody says what's with the
gliding doors or the sliding doors or the French doors or the
this doors or the that doors like the French fries or the
what kind of fries that you wantMeri with your doors.
We hear about Christine and how the family is falling apart and
failing as a family, but the recap this time is actually,

(04:36):
like, useful. No, this is the stuff that.
They actually touch on. It is the last episode of the
season 2 so I guess they probably had to be tip top.
Oh gosh, but we got to hear about these doors again.
Oh yes, well this is it. The episode starts with the
adults arriving at Pinnacle Homes.
We're going back to Pinnacle Homes to make our choices,
particularly when it comes to carpets and tile.

(05:00):
Finalizing the options. Yes, of course.
And we're meeting with Mona and Lynette.
Lynette, who I don't recall meeting before.
I heard Lana. There's Lana, they say Lana but
Lynette is the bottom third. So her full name is Lynette and
I do, I do tend towards the formal.
As we know on this podcast, I'm a sophisticated woman.

(05:22):
So Lynette is how I will refer to Lana because that is her
God-given name. And Mona and Lynette let Kody
know that they could be moving in during the month of December.
When Kody asks about, you know,
when is it that we're likely to be able to move in?
When could we be in? And they did agree that December
is realistic. And this is setting us up for
our timeline. But Kody wants to do all of the

(05:44):
moves everyone at once. Well, that would be ideal for
According to him, the entire family's moved in before
Christmas. He doesn't care if they're doing
Christmas out of boxes, which we later find out in the show
down the road that Kody is quitethe Bah humbug.
He's a little anti Christmas, which is funny because he's such

(06:04):
a Christ follower. Well, he's kind of like the
Antichrist, so yeah. So it does fit.
Yeah. At one point when they're
talking about this, Christine says that she doesn't even care
about Christmas. She just wants to close.
Because now we're going to talk about, you know, the process of
these, the pre approvals and the approvals and blah blah blah.

(06:24):
And for some reason Christine is just a mess about all of this.
She says that she's up at 3:00 AM everyday stressing about all
of the things. It's incredibly stupid how
perfect I have to look on paperwork on.
Paper and it's so funny because it's like, well, anyone that's
been through a pre qualification process on a mortgage and even

(06:45):
anybody who's applied for a loan or whatever it's like, yeah,
you can't look like a fucking disaster for your paperwork.
Like it's not big deal. It's not a big dull.
It's not a big dull, but it is a big bill.
I know when it comes to. Her, it's definitely a big dull.
And Kody tells her like, well, we're all doing that.
And of course, all the wives have to have some visual
reaction to Kody being unsupportive in his comments

(07:08):
about how we're all doing that.
He can't just validate. Christie, you, you just suck at
validating and I don't know, I just have a slight personal
issue with people just validating everyone all the time
and that's something that I have to work on.
I need to validate. But he literally never does it.
Well, it's I, I like to validate
people with their rights. I, I don't really subscribe to

(07:29):
the idea of just validating everyone all the time.
It feels like an empty practice that makes me feel like people
are not being honest when they're just validating people
all the time. That's just an opinion that I
have and I don't really think that Christine needs to be super
validated considering they're all doing the same thing.
I just think she's stressed out because she's very naive and

(07:51):
this is the first time that she's had to like do something
on her own. And then Kody says we had to pre
qualify, but there's no guarantee we get into this.
But it's looking very good. But he just kind of harps on the
fact that she's not the only one and they're all in the same
boat and he has to make it abouthim.

(08:13):
But then he also brings in everyone else.
So it's not, you can't just say,oh, he just brought it back to
him this time, right? But he does, in a sense.
I mean, he may look like an insensitive asshole.
I'm just saying I'd probably be in the same boat.
I'd probably be going listen girl, we're all trying to
prequalify. Like, well, she's also studying

(08:34):
for this exam probably at this time, you know, and she's on her
own and she's actually. True, she's already one of Las
Vegas's most pristine Realtors. Yes, I think that what would
have been kind of him at this point is to be like, that is
stressful. And you know, I'm sorry that
you're feeling the stress and weall can't wait for it to be

(08:58):
over. Oh, wow.
Like, come on. That's how you do some
validating. That's how you do some
validating while also saying everyone else is feeling it.
Like like you can validate but also say, yes, we're on the same
page as you, but hey, guess what?
Christine wouldn't know that they're on the same page because
they don't fucking talk to each other.
Straight up, Straight up. So.

(09:20):
Lynette suggests that all the wives make their choices
individually because that would make things a little more easy,
keep things moving along, whichdoes make sense.
Everyone leaves the room except for Robyn and Kody.
She suggests we start with Robynbecause it's like the first
dinner spreadsheet or. Something she wants to each wife
to go in order of the lots to pick their.

(09:41):
Options oh the lot order which? Yeah, we're going to go around
in the lot order because it makes it easier for Lana.
The helmet head bubble haired Lana.
Do you think that her head lookslike a helmet?
Maybe. Oh, her name is Lana and she's
at it again. She's raising rock is like a
bone out here. Her hair looks like a bubble.

(10:04):
She's caused a lot of trouble. What's up?
Who's there? It's Lana.
Hey, I don't know. AKA Lynette Kody is not excited
about picking carpet colors. He's basically just here to be
supportive. He'd like to be just hurrying
things through, just getting it done.
I don't know if he gave us any precious pearls with this.

(10:25):
I didn't note anything specific.Kody wants to hurry through and
get it all done. He said that he is there to just
help validate their carpet colors.
No, he just wants to validate what they've chosen to get it
done, son. See now this is where I can't.
I hate to be Team Kody, but I'm not team Kody.

(10:45):
I just it sucks when you say something that aligns with
someone that is so despicable. But he can't validate Christine,
but he wants to validate the carpet colors to get it out for
wins. Like, all right, motherfucker,
all right. Typical, man.
Typical. Typical.
Oh man, not even 3 minutes apart.
Not even 3 minutes apart. These quotes.
Oh God. So Robyn, of course, is our

(11:08):
first wife, even though she's the fourth wife and she while
picking through the carpets, it's like oh La La, la, la.
She lands on the color bear skinfor her carpet.
She. Goes well.
I'm not going to go with white. Oh, of course.
And then Kody says, well, put your black shirt against this
color. And she pulls her black sleeve

(11:29):
against it and he goes, you havea lot of black furniture.
And then they decide on bear skin.
OK. OK, Clownches.
OK. Robyn says there are more
important things in life than picking finishings.
She's just happy to get the home.
Kody has to say Robyn went quickly.

(11:49):
Oh. Did she?
Gold Star wife. She really did.
Oh, as quickly as you do with her each time, Kody.
Robyn was A2 hump pump with thatcarpet selection.
Love it, love it. Thanks Robyn.
Now Meri is next and cue the music.
Don't, don't, don't. Meri is next when Robyn has left

(12:13):
the room. Lynette tells Kody while he's in
there alone that Meri is $200 over budget before making any of
her current selections for theday.
So $200 over budget. All right.
Sounds good. Bring in Meri.
So they still need to pick around $5000 worth of things in
the home and she's $200 over budget.

(12:35):
And of course, they have to tellKody this before she even comes
into the room, though. All right, so Q Meri walking in
all innocent. The dramatic music is playing
like it's going to happen, it's going to happen.
She's turning the corner, she's coming through the door.
Here she is. And what does Meri say?
That actually ties in really well to the soundtrack

(12:58):
happening, She says. It almost felt a little bit
ominous when I walked into the room and I lol because I'm like,
they literally played ominous music and then you ominously
walked into the ominous room. Yeah, Kody makes a comment about
Mona and Lana saying that she's already over, so they

(13:19):
don't want her to see or look at things that are over budget.
And it was kind of this like
underhanded like comment that's not focused on.
I think it was kind of like a passing thing while they're
showing another shot, but it seems like they're teeing it up.
Like please don't show Meri. We're not going to show her on

(13:40):
budget options. Right.
Because as we see later, there's like some baseline carpet
options and then of course there's nicer carpet.
And it's like, don't show Meri the nicer carpet because she's
just going to go, oh God, how can I not live without this
nicer carpet? And it's like like everybody
lives with normal carpet. Like hello.
She's wearing this like dark purple tank top and this light

(14:02):
purple tight skin long sleeve shirt.
She's trying to outdo Robbins. Purple people eat her look.
Oh gosh, there's no way you can be more purple than Robyn.
Kody tells Meri that she's $200 over budget.
Now, what I love about this is as he's telling her this, he
like starts grabbing the tile samples and the whatever and the

(14:23):
carpet samples to get started. Like, OK, so you're $200 over
budget. Here we go.
Here's the things like he's making it all like, quick,
quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick.
Like let's go, let's go. Here we go.
It's going to be fine. And Meri's like hold on a
second, am I really already over budget?
Yeah. It's like, yeah, bitch, how do
you not know you're over budget?
She should know she's over budget.

(14:44):
Yeah, she's like, Kody, you havethis weird, funky energy, and
it's stressing me out. And Kody is like, well, I'm
going to have to insist on a fewthings, like a washer and a
dryer. And we hear that she hasn't even
picked out important things yet, like a washer and a dryer.
And I think this is the first

(15:06):
time we're hearing like, OK, you're $200 over budget, but you
still don't have a washer and a dryer.
Yeah. And maybe that's the last round,
like in this last round of Selects, I don't know.
But we do find out later that Kody, of course, is of the
opinion that a washer and dryer should be part of their budget
so that she doesn't have to buy one after they move in and deal

(15:27):
with the, you know, I don't know, delivery and whatever.
He kind of makes it sound like it's a big dull.
And I don't really know that it's a big dull.
I think it's like, if she wants to get it later than let her.
I mean, she's the bitch that's going to have to do laundry.
You think Kody's doing laundry in that house?
I think the big deal is that he doesn't want the bug doll is
that he doesn't want her bringing her shot to Robyn's

(15:48):
house. Oh God, right.
What if? She's that would be a big doll.
That would be a big doll. She can't walk in while they're
dulling with the pickle, you know, because.
Meri suspects that Mona and Lynette have already told Kody
to watch out because she's over budget.
She tells this to camera and it's like, duh.
Like of course. And that's when you know, she

(16:09):
says. This is really causing me
stress. Yeah, she starts crying.
And Kody shows her the tile and granite she previously picked
out. He asks her if she even wants to
see more expensive carpet given her budget overage.
She says yes, just for fun. It's.
Just your fun. It's not going to be fun.
That's why everyone's trying to spare themselves from having

(16:32):
you look at it like it's not. Going to be fun.
And who thinks it's going to be fun?
I don't know, maybe I'm an idiot, but if I know going into
a situation that I only have so much money, I'm not going to be
like, show me the things I can't afford.
This is why they warned him but also at the same time I feel
like it's a little like gross to warn him because it's saying

(16:54):
that like the man has the dominion and he'll make the
final say. And please talk some sense into
your dumb wife. Yeah, I feel that.
So I kind of get it, but I don't like maybe after this long of
working with them, they know that it's a good idea to tell
him to help talk some sense into her.
But if they really knew them, they would know that's not a
great idea. So the whole situation just

(17:18):
backfires on them. Well.
It's almost like a little too interpersonal as well because
like, they're, they're doing a business deal.
It's not like, you know, is it really their obligation to keep
the budget low? Like, probably not.
I'm sure Pinnacle Homes would be happy to have her overspend
her budget. I think that the problem here is
that there's so many homes that they can't just go over budget

(17:42):
if it was one home. Like if it was me and my husband
building a ticky tacky home and picking these options, they
wouldn't mind if we went over budget a little bit.
That doesn't fucking matter to them.
But when there's this big of a like thing on the line, of a
sale on the line and all these homes are dependent on it and

(18:03):
the family could back out because one of them fails at
making this qualification happen, I think that that's why.
That could be. I would assume that it's more of
a self-serving thing so that they don't lose everybody over
it. Or have any issues with
financing at all? Yes.
That makes sense 1000%. Either way, it's a little gross

(18:27):
to me to go behind a spouse and say something to the other
spouse when you're supposed to be working for both of them.
I see that when Meri does say this, yes, just for fun, looking
at the carpet, that she knows she can't afford this dumb
bitch. She looks like she's going to
pull all of the fried hair out of her fucking head.
Like, she looks like, as she's saying, I want to look at the

(18:50):
carpet just for fun. It looks like she's in near
tears. I mean, which she looks like a
lot in this episode. Yeah, but it's like, oh, why are
you doing this to yourself? Like it's like she's torturing
herself and it's weird. I mean, it's like, darling, you
could just not color that hair for five and pay for that carpet
that looks like your hair if you really wanted it.
But I. Wanted the carpet that closely

(19:12):
matched my hair. I wanted to people lay on my
carpet and look bald. Kody's like Meri.
Put your head on the table next to the carpet.
Let's see which one more closely matches your head.
Oh no. Kennedy in the hairdresser.
Oh. Kennedy.
We're going to hear about you later.
Oh, Kennedy, Oh. How?

(19:32):
Did we not start the episode by letting people know we are
going to be introduced to Kennedy?
Oh God, we're failures. Oh no.
We have an interjection where they're on the couch for a
spotlight moment and Meri tells Kody that she can be logical.
She tells him he had a wall up when she was walking in and he
was just going to tell her how it was going to be.

(19:55):
I guess that's I mean that's what happened, but why is she so
butthurt about it? She's impractical.
If anybody wants a very good image of how Kody looks right
now, I'm going to say a very niche comment and if you get it,
please let me know in your comments.
Kody looks like Captain Phoebus from the Hunchback of Notre Dame

(20:19):
and not as handsome. He has the haircut of Captain
Phoebus A1 of romantic partner of an Esmeralda.
All right, I'm just going to putthat little tidbit in your mind.
Has his hair cut.
Needs some layers, Kennedy. All right, moving on.

(20:41):
Now. Moving on SO.
Then we're back in the room with Mona and Lynette and Meri,
says Kody, you have this weird energy.
Kody, you have this word energy, funky energy with me.
It's stressing me out. And she just always looks like
she's like trying to, she's constipated and she's going to

(21:03):
have a nervous breakdown. And it's like, Oh my God, bitch,
you haven't even, we've been in the room at this point for like
1 minute. Oh my God.
That sunless Tanner has set into the cracks and she is stressed
out and it's so. Out, Kody.
Sorry, Mayor, I just know that you're going to overspend and
we're already over budget. Meri, I'm going to need you to

(21:30):
not have this energy. You're stressing me out.
It's like, OK, enough with the stressing you out.
You're not. I mean, my God, these people.
She starts tearing up and these big crocodile tears look like
they're going to start pouring out.
And she goes Christine. Can Christine and Janelle go
first? She just needs a moment.

(21:52):
Maybe the more easygoing sister Wives could go before her.
So she leaves the room, thank God, and she tells the camera
she just needs a break to figure it all out.
Well, yeah, she needs a break. Everybody needs a break from
fucking Meri. My God, she was in this room for
like 2 minutes and it was 45 minutes of drama.
You know, her hairs needed a break for like fucking five

(22:13):
years. But has she listened to those
dried ends? No.
No. Has Kennedy listened to those
dried ends for the last year she's been doing her hair?
No. Meri, we need conditioner.
Meri, help us. Meri, we're.
So. All right.
We could barely talk. We're crispy crispy.

(22:35):
So gross. So ridiculous.
Love you, Meri. I have to.
I think I gave Meri my mustard seed the last episode.
This is what's so funny about this show.
It's like I just gave her a mustard seed and now I'm like,
put her in the incinerator. Like I'm done.
I'm fucking done. Put her in the incinerator like
her hair on the flat air and we could just see Janelle.
Max though, which is peachy fucking keen, right?

(22:57):
Yes, and Janelle is wearing a priMeri very red shirt, like
red, red, red, like the reddest red you've ever seen, like a
Target billboard. And I'm like, wow, Janelle, your
skin is very light and your hair is very, very light and you're
wearing this bright red shirt. And it was kind of, and it made
me, it reminded me of TV shows where when things move and it

(23:20):
kind of blurs because it's just so hard to watch.
But it was just Janelle shirt. I thought you were going to say
it reminded you of Robbins Cold source, but you missed that
little. I missed that time and God damn
it. Well, you know, Janelle says
that she doesn't have the budget to pour a concrete pad off the
back door. She's aware of this.
This is what she'd like to do. She wants a concrete pad off the
back door, but she knows she doesn't have the budget.

(23:43):
Now Janelle is our shrewd businesswoman, AKA no, no, no,
she just can. She already knows what she can
afford or not based on all of the work they've already done.
Well, right. And she would rather have blinds
on her. She would rather have blinds.
She would rather not be blinded by the light.
Eat every morning. She wants blinds.

(24:05):
She has to choose. She wants blinds.
She wants builder grade blinds that all of her kids are going
to fuck up like the cat blinds in her apartment.
Like, Oh my God. So imagine those broken hanging
off blinds. She has to choose between the
cement pad or the blinds and she chooses the blinds.
And Kody is like, well, then all the kids are going to be

(24:26):
dragging dirt into your back door and you're not to put up
with that. And she says, well I guess I'm
going to have to DIY a back pad because I want the blinds.
She wants the blinds. A DIY girly after my own heart.
Well. This is, I mean, you know, a
cement pad off of a dusty backyard is probably the way to

(24:48):
go in my opinion. Like I don't we are talking
about the desert like their lots are literally just sand.
Now, if Janelle, if you were to say I'm going to build
something outside of my house tolike stop the.
With some pavers like come on. I if you were going to do it, I
would say I see it, Janelle doing it.
We'll see. Well I can I could make blinds

(25:10):
or a cement pad so I would give my husband the option.
You're like hand making blind. Shut up, did you see our guest
bedroom? I made those fucking curtains in
the guest set. Curtains are one thing, blinds
are another. OK.
Well, curtains versus blinds, they're.
Talking about blinds, They're not talking about curtains.
Their window treatment game is a F.

(25:32):
It is an F. You know their windows look like
shit. Well I want to know then here
because it's like what is cheaper buying blackout curtains
and for going blinds or a cement pad in the long run?
And did they actually do the math on the cost effective thing
here? Probably fucking not.

(25:53):
Probably not. This is why I'm saying I just
would have had the pad port because it's easy and it's done
and you don't have to deal with.
It I don't know. Curtains are expensive.
Though I know, but curtains are also something you can just go
to the store and buy. Yeah, but these dumbasses
probably can't measure for curtains and hang a curtain rod
to save their fucking life, which is why they go with
blinds. Would be like, I had to buy
blinds and I was up at 3:00 AM and I didn't even know what to

(26:14):
do. Dude, it's like, Oh my God, how
have you survived? Like, how many homes have you
been in where they don't have curtains and they just have
blinds? Yeah, like a lot.
A lot I know. So sorry to anybody that doesn't
have curtains and just has blinds, but I'm kind of the
opposite. Like my main rooms have curated
curtains from like ceiling to floor to elongate the windows

(26:36):
and like they weren't super expensive.
I guess they're most of them arefrom Amazon, but I just feel
like these aren't the type of people that could choose their
curtains well. Right.
Yeah. I don't know what to say.
I'm a gay man who knows how to pick out a curtain.
I'm not a gay man who's going topour a concrete pad because I
just feel like it. So I don't really.

(26:57):
Know I also helped my parents put in their own like stone
patio with cement between the stone pieces in high school so I
have a very unique set of skills so.
I was going to say, so you're just fishing for praise when
we're talking about Janelle. I just, I had to mix up the

(27:19):
concrete to pour between the granite slabs.
No slate slabs that my parents laid out.
You know, child labor. It's for free.
Janelle, you got a lot of kids. I think you could do it.
Just saying. Moving on, Mona says we're done.
That was easy.
And I'm like L0L 0L. Yeah.

(27:40):
Like if anyone's going to make making a budget decision easy,
it's Janelle. Is it the wrong decision?
Yes. But did Janelle make it?
Yes. And was it easy?
Yes. So thanks for letting her know,
Mona. Kody says good job you got to
give me a kiss because that was so.
Easy. I'm like, Can you imagine saying
that to your spouse? Like kiss me because he made it

(28:01):
so easy. Like.
It's like a treat, like he's doling out like a little, Oh, a
little. Good job, Smoocher.
Like. OK, I'd be pissed.
I'd be like, that's your like stipulation here.
And then obviously it comes right after Meri.
So it's like fucker. Yeah, I I just imagine being

(28:24):
like this is not a compliment. No, but she feeds into it, just
as all of these wives in the competition do.
It's like pitting the wives against each other as per usual.
And it's working so. Well, Janelle says she's going
to have to get the pad port after they move in.
And I'm like, cool, good for you, Janelle.
Or DIY it. Yep.
Well, Christine is next. Lynette says that Christine has

(28:50):
a bunch of money left to spend in her budget because she made
some great choices. Christine says I have a bucket
of money left. It's like, OK, Christine, good
for you. And Kody says could you loan
that to another wife? Yeah.
Christine goes, really, do I have to?
Why don't I see what I want and go from there?
And it's like, are you literally responding as if you are going

(29:13):
to consider this? Which we do circle back to, and
it seems like she's not immediately dismissing it, which
is shocking. I would be like, are you fucking
kidding me? So I don't even know.
Well, at first it kind of seems like a joke.
And she's like, and she's brings up the stone that she wants.
Yes. And she says that she wants

(29:34):
stone on the outside. And what do they think about it?
Meaning the two women And they're like, well, everybody
goes with the stone. It's it's gorgeous.
It's a nice feature and it's worth the investment.
Which, you know, I guess makes sense.
It's a way to differentiate your home from the other three
ticky tacky houses on the same end of the cul-de-sac.

(29:55):
Yes, and the fact that they're saying that, well, everyone, you
know, usually goes with the stone.
Stone and other wives probably can't afford it.
Yeah. And Kody says if you don't get
it, though, you could give the rest to Meri.
I mean God. Yeah, Christine says.

(30:15):
I want to see how much the stone will cost to do, but most
likely I'll probably do it and be selfish with it.
And it's like, OK, like no one thinks it's selfish, Kody says.
It's up to you. And I'm like, going, of course
it's up to her. That's the point.
And Christine says, are you trying to guilt trip me?
Kody's like, no, not at all. She says, good.

(30:38):
And then they flashback to the couch.
Oh, God. And now we get an opportunity to
hear all these adults talk about it.
On the couch, Kody claims that this was a joke.
He claims that offering her budget if she doesn't go with a
stone to marry is a joke. It was not a joke.

(30:58):
It was very obvious it was not a joke and that it would have
just made his life easier if shehad said that.
And then like her normal keep sweet Christine self and not
done the stone and giving it to Meri and Christine says well it
made me feel selfish and it made me question myself for doing

(31:19):
it. I felt that it was something I
should give to Meri and I don't blame her.
There are times where people putideas in your head, whether it's
a joke or not, and all of a sudden it has you questioning
your own intentions or if the mistake you made was simply a

(31:42):
mistake or not. And I've dealt with this in my
own life a lot. And it's like that imposter
syndrome or the person that's kind and puts others 1st.
And Christine's one of the people in this show that I think
actually usually does put people 1st and puts her family
first. So I do believe that she

(32:03):
questioned herself and probably layed awake until 3:00 AM
feeling guilty about putting Stone on her house because of
Kody's fucking joke about giving it to Meri.
Oh God, when Christine is talking about this, she tells
Meri. I'm sorry and I hope that you
don't think it's selfish and Meri does the whole pretending

(32:25):
thing like you're talking to me.
Like yes, of course she's talking to you, you dumb bitch.
And that's when Kody says I was
joking and it's like no, he was not.
Meri does try to reassure Christine that it's not selfish
and Meri did snap to it. I hope that it was more than
just a narcissistically driven realization that she looks like
a bitch in the moment by being like, you're talking to me.

(32:47):
Because it's like, yeah, of course she's talking to you like
you're the one that's over budget.
And she's saying I feel a little like maybe I'm being selfish
by not sharing my budget. Meri says absolutely not.
I feel selfish being over budget.
It's absolutely aggravating. Right, Like aggravating, as if
it's anybody else's responsibility or anything like

(33:11):
these. Cold sores are flaring up over
at Meri What? Oh my God.
Get out of here. Meri's cold sores are not
flaring up, but she's not really that upset.
She's just pretending. I'm so aggravated over your own
decisions. Utterly bizarre.
Just strange. We return to the showroom at
Pinnacle Homes, and Lynette shows Christine her laptop

(33:34):
screen and basically we don't see any details, but she's
demonstrating to Christine that she can afford the stone.
And Christine is obviously happy.
And she's like, oh, good, I'm done.
And they tell Christine to have Meri come in.
Oh, God. So then when Meri's coming in,
who's joining Meri on her entrance?

(33:56):
Darling, Who walks into the room with Meri?
Oh, 1st it's Solomon, then Robyn.
Oh, Solomon strolled in. He walked on in, sure he was
just he was just in, in Robyn's arms being like carried in,
carried in with some headphones on be bopping to those tunes.
All right, Solomon has headphones on.

(34:19):
He attempts to take them off and Robyn stops his little hand
and she won't let him take the headphones off.
And this is where I had to turn to the interwebs and I said,
why does Solomon have headphoneson?
And the first thing that came upwas literally this episode.
And a Reddit user says clearly he's working customer service

(34:44):
for my sister wife's closet Hazel is holding online too
asking for a refund. And this was three years ago.
And I. Oh my God.
In my brain and I clocked it forthis moment.
Oh my God. But why is Solomon wearing

(35:07):
headphones? And why is Robyn keeping him
from taking them off? And I know that she has a son
that's on the autism spectrum. So in my mind, I had to look
this up and be like, is Solomon like on the spectrum?
Is he wearing headphones becausehe's not good with sound?
But no, they look like they're plugged in.

(35:29):
Yeah, they're plugged in. They're on a thing plugged into
a device. And even at this time, you had
to have known that like, children listening to headphones
isn't great for their ears. Like, what is he listening to?
Like Baby Einstein, Like, I don't even know.
But it's weird. And also like, to stop him from

(35:51):
taking them off is weird. A sound deprivation situation is
very weird to do to a child when they're trying to take
something off. I don't know.
I have children with ear tubes. And to me, like if my kid was
listening to something while we were like sitting in a store in
a situation where we were waiting and one of them tried to

(36:14):
take their headphones off and my kids are even older than
this, I would let them. It just seemed like a very
bizarre situation and like to drown out the noise, to drown
out the potential fighting, likeI don't understand it and it was
worth noting to me. Well, and I don't, I'm not going

(36:35):
to pretend to know anything about kids or autism or ear
tubes, but when I was witnessingthis, I was going, he's so
young. So like.
He's just like literally, I don't want to say a newborn, but
he's a little chunky toddler. He's not a toddler.
He's a like a he's an infant. He's little and so like, how

(36:57):
would you even know that he would require headphones?
You don't. I mean, like, it just seemed
like a bunch of whatever and it was like, why is this happening,
Robyn? We would put headphones on my
kids from a very young age if wewent to any sort of live music,
and that was even when we were standing, like very far away
from the live music. But they were just headphones

(37:20):
for muting sound to protect their ears.
It wasn't to make them ever listen to anything.
I don't think we've ever actually truly put headphones on
our kids to listen to music ever to this day.
And I almost have a four year old.
Yeah, I'm not familiar with people putting headphones on
their very young children to listen to any audio.

(37:41):
It's just a bizarre decision to make and I don't know why I made
such a big deal about it, but obviously I looked it up and
other people were commenting on it.
That was three years ago that somebody made a Reddit post
asking about it. The customer service for my.
Sister Closet. That's funny.
And there were multiple other funny comments, like about what

(38:03):
it was really about. People were like, oh, it's a
sermon about celibacy. Like people were commenting a
bunch of funny stuff. But that's great.
Other people noticed it enough to create an entire Reddit
thread about it. So I don't know.
Bizarre. Well, as Robyn enters the room
with baby King Solomon, Kody hasa voice over saying something

(38:25):
along the lines of like, I just figured she'll probably go to
get Robyn to complain about it and then get Robyn to side with
her so that I'll do something. After he's done saying this,
they cut to a couch moment whereMeri kind of interrupts his
sound bite. And it's like, are you kidding
me? It's not about getting somebody
on one side or the other. Is that what you think This

(38:49):
relationship is a competition. And it's like a competition,
bitch. You're missing the point.
He thinks you're going to go gether to, like, soften the blow
and like, sand on the edges and make it so that you guys are not
fighting. And that's literally what he
says. No, I didn't mean to side with
you. I meant to validate you.
I'm sorry. There's a reason I was in that

(39:11):
place, Meri. Which, of course, like Meri
can't really listen to logic. And then she says, well, let's
just keep putting the blame on somebody else.
And it's like, what does that even mean?
Do you know what she was even talking about?
Is it that she's thinking that he needs to be blamed for
something and he's trying to putit off?
I think that he feels like ganged up on when it comes to

(39:32):
Meri and Robyn. And if we're looking at the last
episode with the, you know, travel and Meri riding with
Robyn and Meri and him fighting and then Robyn having to be
there, and then maybe he's embarrassed because he's acting
like him true his true self in front of Robyn.

(39:54):
I think she's maybe using Robyn as a shield and that Kody is
picking up on the fact that she's using Robyn as a shield.
And maybe they've had fights like.
Off camera about it. And so Meri's kind of being

(40:14):
manipulative and bringing it up on camera right now to try to
pin it as something else. And I'm not defending Kody at
all because I think that the fact that Meri feels like she
needs a shield at all, whether it's Robyn or a child or another
sister wife and it just happens to be Robyn, I think

(40:37):
that is telling of their relationship.
OK. But I think that the whole
situation seems manipulative and they're both trying to call
each other out for it without actually saying what it is.
Exactly, I feel like they're both skirting.
They're skirting. What's really happening?
Yeah. And I just didn't really get her
comment. It seemed to me like she was

(40:58):
just kind of maybe a little bit more, maybe even like, I can't
believe you're calling me out on this.
Because she knows it's true. She knows she's going to bring
Robyn into the room because it'll soften blows.
And so she's like trying to be all like, are you kidding me?
And it's like, no, like this is what you're doing.
Like she's projecting. But also, she feels the need to
do it, which is not something you should have in a

(41:19):
relationship with your spouse, that you need to bring another
person in to like, guard you and shield you from the, like
conversations. Oh, it's so messy.
Christine's right. This family's falling apart.
Falling apart. They're failing.
But at least it's not a child being brought in.
Thank God. Oh.
My God, God, it's not a child being brought in.

(41:42):
I mean, is it though? Well, it's robbed the child of a
child. Yeah, Oh.
God IQ child bride allegedly, allegedly it's not even alleged
it. She was not a child bride, but
mentally, mentally a child bride.
Perhaps mentally a child bride.
And the worst part is, is over the years, she kind of declined

(42:05):
birds. Yeah, like, it's even worse.
Oh God. Maybe she picked her nose a lot
because there's a correlation now with nose picking and
Alzheimer's. Back in the room at Pinnacle
Homes, Kody explains to Robyn that Meri's coming in $200 over
budget before selecting her final choices.
So basically adding nothing, no blinds, no anything, she's at

(42:31):
$200 over. And it is telling and aligns
with our, you know, theories that like, he's explaining this
to Robyn. So like, Robyn's coming into the
room and he's talking to Robynto let her know blah blah blah.
They go back to the couch and
Kody says I felt like Meri brought Robyn in with her to
keep me from being combative. Yes, I I don't think that that's
untrue, but there's a reason that Meri feels like she needs

(42:53):
the Shield to avoid the combative discussions.
So it's like they're both just fucked up.
Eventually they end up compromising on carpet and Kody
suggests the color of the cheap carpet and they compromise on
it. Kody keeps mentioning that he
wants this to go fast, like he wants all of his sexual
encounters with Meri to go fast as well when they do happen.

(43:17):
Now when they're sitting down, this is it.
There's totally a vibe shift. They're faking making choices in
a positive way. Like as soon as Meri agrees to
one thing, like, oh, are you going to not do the premier
carpet or whatever? And she says, yeah, no, it's
fine. Then all of a sudden, Kody
switches into, I'm agreeable with you, Mayor, that's great.
I love your choices. This is awesome.

(43:38):
And it's totally that fake. Like now we're on the same page,
we're just going to keep going thing and it's so weird to
watch. It's so weird to watch like
couples dysfunctions filmed unlike on display.
It's so strange. Yeah, and it's not like he even
suggests bear skin. Bear skin?
What if he suggested like pure white?

(43:59):
Oh my God, white is snow, Meri, pure white.
At the end of everything, she ends up being $4665 over budget
that she's going to have to come up with like out of her own
pocket money. Which I love because they
actually said 4665 and I was like, she's only $46 over
budget, why the fuck are we even talking about all this?

(44:22):
And then I realized, Chris, you're a little slow.
It's not $46.65. It's like 4665.
Like 5 grand over budget, yeah.
And when Meri's solidifying or, you know, when they're wrapping
up this discussion, Kody reminds her, you're going to
have to plan on buying a washer and dryer along with the
blinds. So once again, Meri is making

(44:43):
these choices and does know that, OK, you're going to have
to get window treatments. You're going to have to get a
washer and dryer. I don't know why there's such a
pushback on that in a sense where like if I was operating a
budget and someone told me that and I understood it, I'd be
like, got it. I'll get the washer and dryer.
I'll get the blinds, I'll get the curtains.
I think the problem is when you're factoring in a home loan
and home payment each month and then your income each month,

(45:07):
you're not factoring in the extra like Best Buy bill each
month. So like it depends.
And with the budget that this entire family is on, it's kind
of a big deal because when you think about interest rates and
potentially having to go to Best Buy and do a credit card or
this or that, it is a big deal.

(45:29):
But we've already talked, but I mean, not to interrupt, but we
have talked about how these wives all have some sort of
their own income coming in. And so Meri has her own budget.
Kody references their other
budgets. Like, Christina's a budget,
Everyone has a budget. And so the reason I'm scratching
my chin and my balls and my other body parts about it, I'm

(45:50):
going if Meri has an ability to pay for things on her own, then
what's the issue? And maybe there isn't an issue.
Maybe they just need drama. But it seems like I don't know
it. They don't make it clear.
They don't. Make it well and with like, you
know, the one child situation and with having less monthly

(46:10):
costs, maybe she can easily factor in an extra 5 grand.
However, we don't know like the debt situation here for Meri
specifically. Fair enough.
There could be a lot of extenuating circumstances.
There could also be the fact that he just doesn't think that
she'll do it. And so then she won't have a

(46:32):
washer and dryer and then she'll be bitching about that or
needing to use an otherwise. And then the other wives will be
bitching about it. She'll be going to Robyns and
they won't be able to FERC as often because Meri will be there
doing laundry. The other thing here is we do
know Meri is a crafty bit. She could make her own blinds or

(46:54):
curtains so. They might be hideous, but she
could make. Them if you XNA that let's say
she's maybe just three grand over budget with, you know, the
washer dryer situation, you know, there's always her wet
bar. She could wash her laundry in
the wet bar. Oh God, she can put her laundry

(47:16):
in the wet bar. You know.
Hand washing. It's like a little house on the
Prairie. But she is a polygamist.
She should be used to this, right?
She's one of those downtrodden polygamists who should be doing
her own laundry in the sink. I mean, she could do that.
Well, and then she's talking about the reason I'm over budget
is just this circle of events. I'm like circle of events.

(47:38):
I wanted to have the wet bar, not for the bar part of it
because of the counter space, part of it because I like to
entertain girl. Now I have to tell you, this is
where I knew I was going to have a moment with you because I
was going to go. I have to pose a question to you
as a faggot, as a homosexual, as a talented, talented

(47:59):
individual. When I'm hosting an event, I'm
sounding like Meri. What a.
One talented individual to another, OK?
OK, thank you. Thank you.
I apologize. Apologies.
I'm having a holiday party, having whatever.
Because at this point, they havenot told us that they're Hawking
some shitty products and that's why she needs her wet
bar. It's because she likes to
entertain. So let's buy into Meri's story

(48:20):
here for a minute. She likes to entertain when I
entertain. Let's say I'm having a holiday
party and the number of guests are roughly the same as the
Brown family. Coming over to Meri's house for
a dinner, I'm more than comfortable with taking out my
sturdy, not the cheapest, but sturdy folding table and putting

(48:41):
a tablecloth over it and putting some serving dishes and some
nice decor. Let's say it's for the holidays.
You put up a little tree or a little something, and then
underneath the table you've got space for drinks.
You know, cooler garbage, You know, accoutrement.
Whatever you fucking need. And no, I have never once had
someone come up to me, not that they would.

(49:01):
I've never witnessed someone looking at it going like I can't
even believe he has a table here with some things on it.
Like is it really that big of a deal?
Like why would you need a wet bar?
It just doesn't make any sense to me.
Sorry, I'm getting a little crazy.
Is it really that bad to have like a side table or a folding
table that's a buffet that is not hideous that you put things

(49:23):
on? No, and the wet bar doesn't even
allow for that much space. Exactly.
The thing with a wet bar is that it has a small sink.
Right. So if she is making a tiny
little soup packets of drink mix, like on repeat, and she's
making 50 little soup packets of drink mix, and she's got her

(49:46):
little assistant making 25 at the wet box, she's making 25 at
the sink. That's what she does.
The whole party is making individual drinks.
Is that what's happening here? I don't know.
I just don't. I just, I literally was going
questioning all of my decisions as an adult going really.

(50:06):
Has it been so terrible that I've had a table set up on the
side somewhere that has like a drink station or a serving
station? I don't think it's that big of a
deal. No, and she's like and the wet
bar had to lead to me getting the craft room or the hobby
room. Yes, the only way she could have
that wet box is to have the hobby room and the pantry behind

(50:29):
the kitchen. And the only way to have those
things is to have the fifth bedroom.
Yeah, it's like this circle of events, he seems.
Like Domino's falling. And it's what Meri calls a
circle of events, which are all her choices.
Which is really, to me, solvable by just buying a nice quality
folding table and a nice tablecloth.

(50:50):
I don't get it. I do not.
Get this is the dumbest thing ever and she even makes a
comment about how she wanted to do this to avoid extra costs of
adding things later. Which is so fucking dumb because
you know how many people actually take a wet bar out of
their home because they would like the extra space of not

(51:10):
having a sink where they don't need it?
They don't need it or just never.
Even if they don't take it out, never using it.
I've been in homes where they never use their web bar because
they don't need to. Why would they?
No Insane. I mean, it's really, really
stupid. And to spend as much money as
she spent just to have this one thing and have this circle of

(51:34):
events follow her like, Oh no, this horrible shadow that's
following me around. Meri's circle of.
Events. So ridiculous.
And it leaves me poor. So good.

(51:56):
Nope honey, rest assured, Meri lets us know that the amount she
is over is not coming out of any of the other wives budgets for
their houses. This is something she's going to
pay for for herself. Thanks for clarifying.
We already knew this. This has been pretty clear other
than Kody trying to guilt the other wives into giving you part
of their budget. Duh, my.

(52:17):
God, Janelle says that she is OK with it when she realized that
she didn't need to give up anything that she needed.
So it was almost like Kody had behind the scenes to the other
wives mentioned that if they gave up a portion of their
budget like he did to Christine on camera, Janelle saying here

(52:41):
right now, OK. When I realized that I didn't
have to give a proportion, I was fine with it.
So Kody tried to guilt all these wives behind the camera to
give up their budget. That's what I'm getting from
that. There's also a tie back to
previous discussions and topics that have happened on the show
talking about this inequality bit where, and we've discussed
it many times where if a wife is supposed to go without for her

(53:04):
children while you have an abundance, like that's kind of
an not kosher family dynamic. Like, even if it's fair and
right in somebody's mind, it would be messy to be like, your
kids should sleep in the dining room while my child has four
bedrooms to run around in. And so there's an element of

(53:24):
that coming in here, too, from my perspective, where it's
going, like Janelle, as long as she realizes she doesn't have
to give up anything, it's OK. And I think that you're right
probably about Kody planting seeds and doing whatever.
We just don't have any footage of it with Janelle, I guess.
We only have it with Christine.
Yeah, but you know, he probably made how many offhanded comments

(53:45):
and whatever to these other wives.
I think that one thing that bothers me here a lot is the
backhanded, obvious sheisty nature of Kody.
And it's coming out here, but noone's really coming out and
saying it other than Christine. And in one minute he's honestly

(54:07):
telling her on camera that if Christine gave the rest of her
budget to Meri and then flipped to not even a minute later, it
was a joke. It was a joke.
And then the gas lighting where Christine might have thought
about this when they do these couch interviews, we don't know

(54:28):
how long it is later. So let's say this is a month
later. Christine might have felt like
shit for an entire month thinking about putting stone on
her house versus giving that budget to Meri.
And we don't know about that though, because it could have
gone on for that long. And he also could have done the
same to Janelle. We know he didn't fucking do it

(54:50):
to Robyn. So he might have made Christine
and Janelle feel like shit for a month before talking about it
on the couch where they feel like, oh, OK, well now we're
it's a joke. It's a joke.
She's such a fucking gaslighter. And I just feel bad for
Christine and Janelle because I feel like they kind of get

(55:10):
ganged up on in a different way here, where they're maybe the
easier of the wives, so they getgaslit more.
And yes, it's weird and we're seeing it here, but it's not
necessarily being called out andthen it's being passed off as a
joke with one of them. At this point we get a

(55:31):
commercial break and when they're teeing up the commercial
break, you know they do a coming up on and Meri is holding
Solomon. We're getting a flashback to
Meri holding Solomon in Robyn's room after Robyn pushed that
baby out of her cootie and when she volunteered to be Meri
surrogate. And there's a voice over from
Kody that I wrote down because I'm like, this is fucking Kody

(55:51):
fucking Brown. We've got a lot of things
happening once we move into the houses, but I'm actually most
anxious about Meri making a decision about whether we're
going to have another baby or not.
And I feel like it's a decision for both of us, yes or no, and
that's what we're going to go with.
And it's like you, they keep playing this clip on the coming

(56:12):
up ONS and the commercial breaks is him saying yes or no.
And that's what we're going to
go with. We hear it like 4 times in this
episode because of all of the previews of when we actually see
it. And it's like, you know what,
fuck you Kody. It's just gross.
The way he talks about things is disgusting.
He's gross. Very gross.
So we could potentially be ending this in the same spot

(56:34):
here. We're going to be talking about
the merry baby decision yet again.
I don't know, maybe, maybe not.
We're going to take a little recess and come back to it.
Gather our thoughts, regain our strengths, become, I was going
to say better people, but we know that's not true.
Just a different people different.

(56:56):
Prepare our loins. 00. For this decision.
Oh God. Well, Kody does grill later in
the episode, so you know I I could get my loins ready to be
burned. Tenderize our meats.
Absolutely. So Part 2 of this episode will
be coming to you next week righthere.
Same channel, same time. Brought to you by.
