(00:10):
What does the nanny do?
OK, so we're done.
Goodbye.
You shut it off.
Do not twist my words.
Do not make me a victim,
sweetie.
Just look at the mountain.
That's what you saw.
That day, just the knife in the
kidneys over all these years and
the sacrifices that I made to
(00:32):
love you.
Are you ready for the Browns to
tell you all?
So ready.
(00:54):
Well, actually, are you a little
more prepared for the Browns
to tell you very little?
I think that's more the
direction that we're going to
end up on our Season 6 episode
11, Sister Wives Tell all
rewatch.
Oh, tell all in the middle of
the season.
Isn't that interesting?
Kind of going off of what we
thought where maybe the season
finale was supposed to be the
(01:17):
other episode and now there's a tell all in the middle.
Yeah, I was thinking about how
in the last episode you were
talking about the wrap up
footage of them climbing up the
hillside and the RC for TLC
trash TV shots and whatever, and
how it was looking like it was
supposed to be the end of a
season.
And there's a few things that
(01:38):
happened throughout the episode that I'm like, Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
I think it backs up your
conspiracy theory, but maybe
we'll never know.
One of those TLC mysteries.
They just got re upped for a few
episodes and TLC said let's make
our dough here, let's add a
few more episodes.
Get what we can out of these
(01:58):
people's crazy lives, damn.
Mildly crazy, that's for sure.
Tell all debatable.
Debatable, as per usual with
them.
The episode starts with a
voiceover from Tamron Hall.
This is the first time we're
meeting Tamron Hall on this
show.
I'm not familiar with what she
did beforehand, but I kind of
(02:21):
felt like I recognized her and I
think it's because I've
recognized her from things she's
done since.
So Tamron Hall has a talk show
now and I don't remember how
many seasons she does the Tell
Alls for Sister Wives.
We'll discover that through our RE watches.
But the one thing that's
happened as of recent was Meri,
(02:42):
Meri, Meri quite contrary.
Brown went on the Tamron Hall
show in the last year or
something to plug who knows
whatever she was plugging,
probably her non existent self
help company or something.
I don't really remember.
Maybe it was just for the last
season of the show.
And I think there was some sort of, I don't know if they were
really clear, but gave us some
kernels that basically Kody kind
(03:04):
of got her fired because he
didn't like the way that the
interviews were going.
And this one's pretty light
hitting.
I'm not going to say that they
get hard hitting, but at some
point they become even less
favorable to him.
And with production changes,
that puddle monkey, I mean,
right now for sure, they don't
have the producers they had when
they started and when they
started, the reason that Kody
and Robyn get such great edits
(03:26):
is because they were friends
with the creator of the show and
the producer.
And when that changed, their
edits changed and I think Kody, this was probably one of the
last things that Kody was able
to do was get Tamron fired from
doing their tell alls.
While Tamron started her career
in the 90s, she spent a decade
anchoring and reporting for Fox
(03:49):
Morning News in Chicago,
starting in 1997.
Then she joined MSNBC and NBC
News in 2007 and hosted programs
like MSNBC Live and Co hosted
the third hour of the Today
show, Today's Take and she was
the first black woman to Co
(04:11):
anchor the weekday Today show.
OK.
So she got started before the
Browns doing.
Other thing, and that's where I think they recognize her is
from.
MSNBCI think that's probably
where I recognize her from.
Yeah.
So it makes sense that they
would start trying to branch her
out into other things and doing this, maybe this was like a
(04:34):
segue to her getting her own
show is what it sounds like from
reading her history.
So kind of, I think that happens
with a lot of people that do
these interview things for like
random shows and they end up
getting their own talk show out
of it eventually.
It does seem like a natural
stepping stone.
Yeah.
Hosting these types of things to
hosting a a talk show.
(04:56):
Yeah.
But I did see Meri on Tamron
Hall show, and just like
everything Meri does, she gave
us very little.
It was very uninteresting.
But of course I watched it
because I'm a deadbeat loser who
watches Sister Wife, so you
know.
Well, you know.
When we get our first shot of
the family with Tamron Hall, we have two couches and Tamron's
in the middle.
Very traditional, you know, tell
all set up.
We have Robyn, Kody and Janelle
(05:18):
on the left couch and then
Tamron in the middle and then
Christine and Meri on the right couch.
I thought Meri looked pretty
good.
Janelle had a lot of makeup or
like she looked very almost like
she had an early teenager do her
look or something.
I don't know.
Do you?
What did you think?
Of I felt like she had a stylist
do her hair and makeup that
didn't know how to deal with
(05:41):
aging skin.
That makes sense.
It was very thick, heavy makeup for somebody that is, you know,
showing early signs of aging and
it's settled in.
She did look really pretty.
Like she tried.
She asked for help and she
tried, and I thought she looked
pretty.
You could have ran your fingers
(06:02):
through those curls a few times and liven them up, but that's
for sure.
I thought she looked good.
I did notice that they tried to coordinate outfits of it.
So Janelle and Robyn were
wearing this orangey coral
color, more on the orange side.
And then Christine was wearing under her like darker blazer
(06:26):
thing. She was wearing a coral orange
top as well. So they did try to coordinate
this time and they're not just sitting there in socks or
they're naked hooves. So yeah.
Oh God, Janelle's puggy pig toesweren't out.
No, we didn't have to see any piggy piggy tixies.
(06:48):
Yeah, Janelle's look reminded meof a teenage girl who's going to
prom and ordinarily or never has done their makeup or their
hair, and all of a sudden
they're done up.
And it's like, oh, man, if you had done this a few more times,
you would have, you know, figured out some of these
things. It was just odd.
And it's so Janelle, I I don't want to pick on her.
(07:09):
It was just every time she was on camera, I was like, Oh my
God, girl. Like, or a drag queen who's
doing their first performance and it's like, oh, she ain't
figured it out yet, you know, like, oh God.
If Mckelty or Maddie had done her makeup it would make sense
because they are used to being able to put on foundation and
with skin types as you get older, putting on too much
(07:31):
foundation actually is does the opposite of what you want it to
do. It doesn't make you look
youthful, it makes you look dry and cakey.
So. And Christine was looking a
little formal ish. I don't, I never know what
Christine's doing with her fashions, obviously.
I mean, she's kind of a mess andit's like she's trying.
And I felt like she was going toa boardroom meeting or something
(07:55):
and it just was weird. But she did try to match with
the orangish theme of the other two, and Meri was wearing her
Fidelis necklace. Oh, I didn't catch that, but I
noticed that Christine was wearing hers.
That's funny. I didn't notice Christine
(08:15):
wearing hers, which is funny 'cause we she's the one that
hated it. I know.
And when I first saw it, I thought, Oh my gosh, Christine,
what are you doing? And then I thought, well, maybe
she's trying to save face or make it look like, oh, I didn't
actually hate it and I'd love my husband like, oh God.
Yeah, Meri wearing hers. And then of course she had a
long layered necklace over it. Very of the times with the
(08:38):
layering, the necklaces. OK.
As they do on this show very frequently, the Clinkity
Clinkity jewelry. And one more thing about how
they're sitting is just as a viewer, with Robyn being on the
far left, there's something about, well, first of all, when
they're doing a full shot, as we know, with camera angles or
with using a lens that
captures more, the sides get
(08:58):
stretched a little more.
And that's the unfortunate thing
for Janelle when they're doing, when everyone's on the
couch and they put her at the
end and it's like, oh, she's
getting the widest part of the
lens, I guess.
Yeah, yes, yeah. Very muted version of that.
And this time, Robyn being on the far left when they were
doing the full shot of everybody, it's like her jaw was
(09:20):
even stretched further than itnormally.
Is it was it was very square andexaggerated.
And then when they would do the three on the left, when they
would do Robyn, Kody, Janelle, there was something with the
camera where they weren't quite focused.
So that was distracting to me because it would be a little
blurry. And I'm like, oh God, why didn't
some? That's really the director of
(09:41):
photography's job. There's someone on set that
needed to be making sure it was unfocused.
It wasn't. So we didn't get a lot of their
full couch, but then when they would do close-ups of either
Robyn or Kody, where the camera was from and the way she would
be looking at Tamron in the middle, it's like her chin was
just so. Johnny Bravo, Yes, So Johnny
Bravo. It was distracting to me.
(10:01):
I would just be like, Oh my God,Robyn, your fucking jaw.
Well, one thing that they did during this tell all which I
appreciated was when they were doing the flashback clips, and
I'm sure we'll get into this. They had the little lower third
camera angle of them on the couch now watching the clip as
the viewer and the reaction of them re watching the clip.
(10:26):
And every time that Robyn was inthat, that little lower square,
her square jaw was just matching up with the square of
her square.
It was insane looking.
It really, really made me realize how square her face is
because regardless of camera trick angles making her look
(10:49):
some sort of way, you can't looksome sort of way if you don't
already look some sort of way tobegin with.
So. Girl, if I trust me, I know it
is what it is. We look how we look.
Right. Oh my God.
So Tamron gets this 11th episodeof season 6.
(11:10):
Sister Wives Tell All started byasking Kody the first question,
asking him why was it so important for you to move out of
the rentals and into these newhomes?
Such a hard hitting first question from Tamron.
I just couldn't even believe shestarted out this hard hitting.
Oh, coming in hot. Investigative journalism at its
(11:33):
best. Yes.
And Kody basically says so that they could be functioning as a
family. And Janelle follows up by saying
owning a home feels permanent and then references something
about the Christmases that they could have, etcetera, etcetera,
which opens the door for Tamronto say, well, yes, you had a
goal to be in the homes by Christmas and everyone was in
(11:54):
their homes for Christmas exceptfor one.
Let's take a look. And I'm going to try to do let's
take a look a lot because she did that a lot.
And I love the. Let's take a look.
Well, first, Kody does say in response to her that it gives
them a sense of unity to be in their new homes in the
cul-de-sac. And we act right.
(12:15):
Oh, they act right. We act right, We act more like a
family when we're closer together.
And I thought it was a really weird choice of words.
As per usual, we act right. Isn't that odd?
It's kind of a telling way to describe how your daily family
function is. Yeah.
Almost reminds me of out of sight, out of mind, you know?
(12:37):
But what is it that you're doingright?
Right. Almost feels like a correction.
Yeah.
And so it's like, what were you doing wrong?
It just reminds me of a mom
yelling at their kid.
You better act right when we're here.
Yeah, it was bizarre.
Yeah.
It's not language like, oh, we
get to spend more time together
or we are, Yeah.
It felt like a parent scalding
(13:00):
their child that they need to
act right in public.
Oh, and the flashbacks.
And so for this first flashback,
we get Mona telling everyone
about their Closings, getting
their keys, etcetera, and Meri
having a breakdowns during this
scene.
And oh God.
And you're right, there's like
the picture in picture.
So we get to see some of their
reactions.
I didn't really pay too much
attention to their reactions
(13:22):
because they're usually just
watching the monitor and I
don't.
Know there was a few that were
telling Meri is crying in the
flashback and of course she's
crying on the little photo of
her watching the flashback.
So crying on crying on crying
here.
Very on brand for Meri, yeah?
Tamron asks if the most
(13:45):
upsetting part was Leon's
experience.
Oh God, I know.
And Meri agrees.
She says yes, Christmas was so
important to Leon and they're
moving off to college next year,
blah blah blah blah blah.
We've all heard it all before.
Let's not beat our listeners
over the head with shit that
they've already heard 17,000
times.
You guys are going to try to get
through this quickly, but we say
that regularly and then it
(14:09):
doesn't happen.
So we're going to try to just
move through this.
You've heard it all before,
don't stop listening.
You've heard it all before.
Kody says here it felt like
destiny getting into the home.
I love that he was bringing
Robyn's tagline into it.
They do a lot of this during
during the tell all here where
(14:32):
Tamron will ask a question and
it feels disjointed and one of
them will give an answer where
it doesn't feel like they're
actually answering the question,
but they're they're answering
a question in their head that they
wish was asked.
Or maybe they're cutting bits
and pieces out and it doesn't
really flow intuitively for the viewer.
(14:55):
Because we get clips like this
where Meri's talking about Leon
and yes, it was so important for
Leon to be in by Christmas.
And then Kody, they show him and
Kody says it felt like destiny
getting into the homes.
OK.
It did feel like destiny.
Disjointedness.
Christine says it's been so good
to be all together again and
(15:17):
this is where I noticed her
necklace from Kody and I was
like Oh my God, Oh my God.
Tamron asks Meri about bumps in
the road living close together
and potential issues they may
have being such close neighbors.
They're in such close quarters Again.
Tamron points to Meri with this question and how Meri had
(15:38):
brought up the potential for jealousy in being in these close
quarters again and how she waskind of getting used to not
being so close to each other. And we get a lot of
defensiveness from this question, a lot of it.
Meri says. The issues I could see is the
four of us being so aware of each other and aware of each of
(16:03):
us with Kody. We didn't see each other with
Kody while we were in the rentals and now we can see Kody
going from house to house. So what I love is this idea of
of course, these are suburban desert Vegas homes where they're
very back centric. The living spaces are in the
back, blah, blah, blah. When they have this reference of
seeing each other all the time, in my mind, I'm going, are
(16:25):
you sitting in your what
Christine has is the library.
Meri has is her dining room slash packing room for her
online sales. There's only really one room
that faces the front of the house with windows on the 1st
floor. So it's like, are you just
pacing looking out your front window even though the majority
of your living space faces back?
It's very bizarre.
Y'all need to have some
(16:46):
self-control.
It's weird.
They look around at each other
here, and Meri's really the only
one saying that.
Well, now we, it's in our faces.
It's right up in our faces whose
house he's going to, how long
he's there.
And we just know he's in the
vicinity.
We know he's in one of those
homes right around us, but he's not with us.
(17:08):
And Tamron says, well, yeah,
it's possible that this would
bring up some emotions, jealousy
maybe.
And Meri's, I'm just saying, she
keeps saying.
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying, I'm just
saying, and Tamron goes, you're not just saying no, trying to
call her out.
Well, there's a reason you're
(17:31):
bringing this up.
So obviously there's some
jealousy.
There's something going on and
they have to try to spin it to
make it sound good and to get
off of Meri's ass here.
So they talk about how combined
between all of them, they have
65 years of marriage.
(17:52):
So they've got a lot of
experience and they know how to
work through these things and
they can figure it out.
Yeah, During this back and
forth, Kody shares an example of
taking out someone's garbage and
how it's like, oh, what if I
took out someone's garbage and
not someone else's?
And Robyn makes a crack about
him taking out the garbage.
Like, oh, you take out the
garbage?
Which I thought was kind of
funny because it's totally like
(18:13):
a wife being like, you take out the garbage.
And then I was also disgusted
because I'm like, yeah, I'm
imagining being a husband of
four wives.
He probably doesn't take out
their garbage because he's Kody
as well.
Like he's just that guy that
probably wouldn't.
I'm a pussy fucking homosexual
and I take out the fucking
garbage.
I do not get that.
It grosses me out.
(18:34):
And then I'm thinking about how he has four homes where he
doesn't take out the garbage.
And I'm like, you're so gross.
I'm just imagining all four
wives taking out their cans,
bringing them back in.
Or, you know, when they have
teenagers having the kids do.
It I was going to say this is
probably one of those things
where he feels it's the
children's responsibility.
Yeah.
And he probably feels like as a dad with that many children, he
(18:56):
should never have to take the
trash out.
Yeah.
It's that built in labor I.
Mean that I was not that old
before I started having to take
the cans out at my parents'
house.
So I get it now.
I'm going.
OK, Christy, you were reading
too much into it.
But I was just thinking about
the idea of all these people
taking out their own trash and
Kody sitting on the couch with
his legs up being like,
whatever, I'm Kody, I have a
(19:16):
pretend job.
You're.
Right.
I thought that if anything, he's
taking out Robyn's trash.
Yeah, and just hers.
Right.
And so conveniently, she gets to
make a crack about it, like, oh,
you don't do that at my house.
And it's like he probably
actually does at your house and
nobody else's.
Yeah, Christine makes a joke
about how she saw him pulling
weeds in somebody's yard the
(19:36):
other day, and he doesn't pull
the weeds in her yard.
And I was thinking so
metaphorically here.
Yeah, he's pulling the weeds,
like pulling the shit out and
working through problems with
one marriage, but not pulling
the weeds in another garden.
And all these weeds are
festering in your guys's gardens
while Robbins is flourishing
(19:58):
and growing flowers.
There's weeds growing up in
yours.
Like, I just couldn't not think.
Wow.
That is so metaphorically
accurate for what is truly
happening behind the scenes
right now with you guys.
You your mind is not in the
gutter like mine, 'cause when
you started talking about the
wedding I was like, OK, I
thought we were going to talk
about some genitalia, but then
a.
(20:20):
Little bit of that too.
You know, you know, but, but
that totally makes sense.
When Kody made that crack about
65 years of combined marriage,
it's because Tamron had asked
how long they had been married
and, you know, combined 65
years.
And he was grinning like he was
so clever and it was the
funniest thing that anyone's
ever said.
And I puked in my mouth and had
to swallow it, it was so gross.
(20:41):
Well, Tamron kind of called him out for that.
Oh, because you just know all ofthe, she doesn't say all of the
stats, but kind of like you just know all of the things
about your marriages, like all
of the anniversaries and all the
dates and you would know that
you have 65 combined years.
She kind of cracks at him for that.
She also says that that's telling her jealousy may be an
(21:02):
outcome, which of course we already talked about with Meri,
but she's got to bring it back up.
And that's where Christine says I'm a tracker.
Where's Kody? He hasn't been here.
I haven't seen him for a few days.
Where is he? Yes, absolutely.
That has come up. And this is the thing about
Christine is she's telling us already that Kody, you know,
(21:24):
they were in the rentals and, you know, we kind of gave a
well, we didn't, but you could see how someone would give some
flexibility on the, you know, you're not going to spend your
time evenly, OK. But now it's going to become so
blatant. And so for Christine to be in
the cul-de-sac and saying haven't seen him for a few days.
Where is he?
(21:44):
I mean, what is he not allowed
to go from home to home any
days?
I don't think that's true.
Is it the benefit that he can
just stroll next door?
Does he have to wait three days 'cause he's like, oh, I've got
my rotation?
Like, I don't believe it.
She says that she knows he's
somewhere on the property and if
she hasn't seen him for a couple
of days, that means he's
somewhere else on the property.
(22:05):
She uses the property the. Property, which I love because
it's very polygamous cult compound sounding.
It is because it is definitely four different properties, but
they're property. It makes me feel like they have
one of those underground electric fences and Kody has
like an air tag tracker or an electric probe in his shoes or
(22:29):
in his sock that'll ZAP him if he leaves the cul-de-sac or
something. Oh my God.
After Christine talks about where Kody is, they joke about
pointing fingers at each other and then Christine says I'm not
the only one that feels that way, which I thought was an
interesting Colonel because she brings it up.
I'm assuming this means my assumption would be Meri.
(22:53):
I don't know that Janelle. I mean, maybe Janelle just
agrees with her. Like, yeah, there are times
where I don't know where Kody is.
I don't see him for days. But I don't think it bothers
Janelle in the same way. In Christine's book, she
mentions about when they were inthe rentals, how it wasn't super
apparent where he was all the time.
But then you would drive by and see his car at Robyn's
(23:16):
repeatedly. And she would be trying to tell
Meri and Janelle that he's there all the time, but they
didn't believe her because it
wasn't in their faces.
Yeah. And so now she's hoping that
they're noticing. And she says in her book that it
was more apparent and they couldn't hide the fact anymore
(23:37):
that he was always spending his time with her and everybody
knew. But now watching this back, it's
obvious that they're still burying their heads in the sand
about it. And she's trying to call it out
during, you know, the real timemoment.
She's trying to say hey, and she's trying to put it on Meri
(23:57):
and Janelle. No, I'm not the only one.
Like, hey, hey, they notice it too, but I don't think they
really do. I think she's hoping they do.
And I think she's probably been behind the scenes pointing it
out to them like she says she did in her book.
But they're they're burying their heads in the sand still.
It's a different situation for them because Meri, while we have
(24:20):
no proof of this, then we shouldn't even know it.
She's disconnected from the family for her own reasons.
And we'll actually address that even more in this episode where
she's doing her own thing. Who knows?
Who knows? And Janelle's a fiercely
independent bitch who's doing her own thing and probably just
only cares to see Kody every once in a while so she can, you
(24:42):
know, get her Kody time. And then there's Robyn, and he's
always at Robyn's. So that just leaves Christine
being like, where the Hell's my husband, you know?
And marriages go through different points in time where
they're romantic, they're platonic, they're caretaking.
And it would make sense that at any point in time, each marriage
(25:03):
would be in one of those different spots in the
relationship. But Christina's obviously
looking for something that she is not getting right now, where
I think that Meri is in a platonic place with him or a
friendship place, if even that. And Janelle is in a platonic
(25:23):
place, definitely friendship place with him.
So she's not looking for any different type of connection.
She's not wanting for anything. Robyn is in the romantic part of
their relationship yet. And I think that Christine
wishes that she was still in theromantic phase because, you
know, she's our little Princess. She wants a fairy tale.
And since they're not on the same page, this is just all so
(25:46):
blatantly obvious to her becauseshe's not getting what she needs
out of the marriage. I love how you call her our
little Princess. I'm like, oh, are we taking
ownership of Christine now? Our little Princess, our little.
Princess.
So I'm like, oh God, I don't
want to be a part of that
Kingdom.
Chris is like, just call me
daddy.
Just.
Call me Daddy, Christine.
I'm here to take care of you.
(26:09):
Baby Kody also highlights that
now they're in business
together.
So day in and day out are very
different for them.
And I was just L0L, 0L in
because I'm going, Oh yeah,
you're a huge enterprise, my
sister wife's closet that you
have what, a meeting once a week
or every other week and nobody
does anything for it, really.
(26:29):
Yeah, he says that the the other
dynamic here is as well.
You know, we're in a business
together now.
Yeah, OK, a lot.
Has changed for them.
The dynamics have changed
because you are in a business
together, so now you have to be business minded with all of
your wives and not just Janelle.
(26:50):
Totally. This man.
Then they were going to show us a flashback to a meaningless
meeting of the My Sister Wives closet, flashback to being at
Meri's table in the Rentals I believe, and we have to talk
about the BBP. Oh, the BBP.
(27:13):
The big boy panties comment. Yeah, that flashback was when
Robyn told Kody to put on his big boy panties about something
and I had never heard BBP before.
This is first for me because Janelle tells us that it became
a joke at home and with production after this little
sound bite became a thing. Big boy panties.
Yeah, They turned it into this little acronym.
(27:35):
Is that what you call it? Production would crack jokes on
set about it, and they crack jokes about it now, and it's
become a thing. And there's no reason out of all
the clips this season that this had to be brought up, other
than the fact that they think
it's cute and they're trying to
(27:56):
make something out of it for
the viewers.
They're trying to make fetch happen.
Yeah, I don't know that we'll ever hear BBP again.
No, Tamron asks Kody if he owns big boy panties and if he's
embraced them. Embraced the big boy panties.
Kody, of course, is like, yeah, nothing more to say.
Yes. Moving on.
(28:17):
God. So Tamron Hall Tees up that they
heard from Danny the Builder and shows his clip talking about
how Kody is with his wives,
that he is accommodating with
Meri, that he is matter of
fact with Janelle, that he is
jovial with Christine, and
that he and Robyn are like
newlyweds.
And so Tamron asks, a show of
(28:38):
hands.
How many people think Danny is
wrong?
No one raises.
Nobody.
Nobody.
Bueller.
Bueller.
I love when someone says show of
hands and then no one raises
their hands.
I love whatever scenario it is.
It doesn't even matter what it
is.
I'm just like, how fulfilling,
how wonderful.
Positive or negative, it's
always kind of an awkward
(29:00):
moment.
We hear from Meri here that she
did not like this accommodating comment.
They believe that Danny knows
them very well after working
with them closely for as long as
he did, but she just did not
like the accommodating part of
that comment.
(29:20):
Well, she feels that she's more honest and loving with Kody and
that's that's what should really
come across as honesty and
loving.
Yeah.
At the end of the day, he is
accommodating to her and she has
to know that whether she's in
denial about it or not, it is
what it is.
She says that she doesn't want
Kody to feel that way, that he
doesn't have to be
accommodating.
He can be honest with her.
(29:42):
She's honest with him.
Yeah, he doesn't have to be
accommodating for her.
I don't want him to feel that
way, bitch.
Yes you do.
Because if he wasn't then it
would be a big fight every
single time.
Just like when you were in the
process of picking out your
fucking tile and you had to
bring Robyn in to mediate for
you guys.
You know, like that would be
happening every day if he just
(30:04):
didn't concede and accommodate
you, OK.
I think one of the things I want
to incorporate from Meri in my
own personal life is have
expectations of people, but then
tell them I don't want them to
feel how I expect them to act,
right?
I think that's great.
Like I expect you to be
accommodating to me, but I don't
want you to feel like you have
to be.
Oh my God, it's.
So fucking Meri.
(30:27):
It is her.
Emotional roller coaster.
I still, after all these years, I still do not have a finger, a
thumb on whatever is going on
with her emotionally.
I don't get it.
It's weird because there are
times where I identify with her.
I'm like, I'm such a fucking Meri.
And then there are other times where I'm like, bet you're nuts.
Like fucking nuts.
It's manipulation tactics.
They all have their own little
(30:49):
manipulation tactics, and this
is hers.
Like, oh, I don't want you to
feel like you have to do that,
but I'm kind of telling you that
you you have to be doing that.
It's yeah, it's the
manipulation.
And everybody in this family has
their own way of manipulating
to get what they want.
Because when you're in a family
this big, that's kind of how it ends up playing out.
(31:12):
You figure out how to get what
you need out of the situation,
just like children do out of
their parents.
Right, because you don't, I
don't want to say get your way
all that regularly, but there is
less time where things are
going to go your way, quote UN quote
or your desired outcome
is not going to be the outcome.
So yeah, you probably have to find overt and other ways to do
(31:34):
it. It reminds me of a child of
divorce that goes between the mom and the dad.
Well, Dad said that I could get a PlayStation if you said that I
could. And then, you know, going back
to the other parents saying the opposite thing and then one of
the parents concedes and buys itfor them.
It feels very much like that. And I even in the last episode,
(31:56):
I was thinking that, oh, childhood divorce behavior kind
of between them. It's something they all do.
Christine chimes in and says, I think everyone would like to be
in the place. Robyn is in the honeymoon phase.
I think everyone does.
It's like a God.
I mean, Amen, Christine.
Everyone would love to be in the
honeymoon phase with their
(32:17):
spouse forever.
So awkward to bring that up and
make a point to call it out
again that you realize that he's
still in that phase with another
wife and not in it with you.
The bliss stage of relationships
only last for so long and
there really is no way of getting it
back because once
you know what you know about somebody, it's
always going to
(32:39):
color the rest of your feelings about them,
whether that be
good or bad. And it is just the nature of
relationships. So you're you're chasing a pipe
dream if you think you're ever going to get that back.
You have to recreate stuff for yourself and she is just trying
so hard and wants that so badlyand it makes me feel for her.
(33:01):
Well this is the thing about their family specifically is
Kody probably had an infatuationslash love for Meri when they
met and they were young. You know, I'm imagining that
with her being in the polygamouscult and her parents being
somewhat influential in that group.
(33:21):
Piggy centric. Right, There was a there was
reasons for him to be into her and then maybe they actually did
personally hit it off as well and he probably did have some
attraction to her, etcetera, etcetera.
Who knows what you know, I, I don't even know what to say
about the Janelle thing. Christine.
I don't think so. He has shared that he was
literally not attracted to her and she has shared in her book
(33:42):
that his behavior aligned with that.
So meeting Robyn and the way he talks about her even later in
this episode, it does seem like he met someone that he was in
love with. And that's so different from two
of the four wives and probablyeven Meri's experience.
So when you're talking about that, you know, infatuation at
1st and then things change and maybe you can get it back at
(34:05):
times that comes, I feel like ina real love or like a situation
where you really do love and care for that person if you're
married to them out of some sortof religious or cultish
obligation. Do you ever really get that ever
if you never had it to begin with?
I don't know. So Christine's going to always
struggle with that with Kody, and I think that's just the way
(34:26):
it's going to be. Yeah.
Only time will tell. Yeah.
And Tamron asks Kody, does each wife fulfill a different
romantic need for you? Oh, because of course we have to
talk about Kody's romantic needs.
Romantic and intellectual need, Kody says.
I wouldn't call it needs becauseI could be married to any one of
(34:47):
my wives and have a functionalmarriage and like, isn't that
what you're doing? Well, I thought my reaction was,
oh God, I'd hope so. Like what?
You're going to marry someone that wouldn't fulfill your
functional marriage needs? Like I just.
He's such an idiot. But then Robyn, Robyn has to go.
(35:07):
Good answer, good answer.
Like we're on Family Feud and
clapping with Steve Harvey.
Good answer, good answer.
It's on the board, It's up
there, it's on the board.
Everybody.
It's going to be up there.
That was awesome.
Just saying that was awesome.
Perfect.
Like Oh my God, how many
different ways can you applaud
him for this answer that isn't
even good?
(35:30):
No wonder he loves it.
They are two peas in a pot.
Dumb and fucking Dumber.
Everyone needs a yes man, a hype
person.
She's just hyping him up.
God.
You guys, I'm looking for my
Robyn.
I'm.
Looking for my hype woman.
I'm looking for my Robyn.
I'm.
Looking for my Robyn if you're
out there.
My male version of a Robyn with
(35:51):
a BBP big boy panties.
Please let me.
Know I'll be your Robyn for the time being, I'll be your I'll
be your one woman gonna Robyn.
You gonna have to dump it down
quite a bit, honey.
You just gonna have to agree
with everything I say, and I
don't want you to feel like you
have to agree with everything
else.
Of course not.
Of course not.
No, no, no, I would never.
But please do.
(36:11):
I would never feel that way, but
yeah, sure, sure I will.
Kody says fitting their square
polygamist peg.
Oh God, I love this square
polygamist peg in a round
monogamist hole would be
impossible and I was going.
I want more hole metaphors from Kody.
Kody, give me more hole
metaphors.
(36:34):
I feel like.
They've used this before.
I feel like they've used this
metaphor before and every time
that they say it to compare your
marriage to holes.
Kind of an unfortunate thing to do.
Well, I thought it was quite a
visual stimulation, I must say.
It definitely was.
It was very titillating and
(36:56):
stimulating for the senses.
Oh God Robyn, what an idiot.
Tamron asks if a monogamous
relationship could be fulfilling
to Kody and he says yes.
So she asks, why not be a
monogamist?
Kody says why not be a
polygamist?
The question shows a sense of
(37:17):
discrimination.
Discrimination.
Oh boy.
They love to fall back to that.
Like I said, I don't like to say
civil rights, but they fall
back to this equality bit AD nauseam,
like it's just their
default. If you're asked a question and I
don't know how to answer it, I'm either going to talk about
rock, paper, scissors, square
pegs and round holes, or
(37:38):
something about equality and
you're being discriminatory.
He was saying to her, basically, that sounds very ableist of you.
There's something it was.
Yeah, yeah, so dumb.
She glosses over it though.
She just ignores that he says
that.
Yeah, she goes over to Meri.
Does he meet all of your
intellectual and romantic needs?
And Meri says I am very happy inmy marriage.
(38:01):
I am. I am really happy in my
relationship but. This bitch is so there.
She's in it. She's in love, she cares about
this family, she's really dedicated.
This is one of the first momentsof this towel though, where I
think so fucking phony. You are trying to pull the wool
(38:26):
over everyone's eyes right now and you're not even putting on a
good show of it. No, exactly.
I wonder at the time, in real time, as a viewer, if I would
have picked up on it because that's a pattern I have with the
show is I'm not picking up on these things the first time I
saw it. Well, this is the first time I
saw it and I picked up on it. I mean, and I living in the now
(38:46):
and I have, you know, the little bit of the foresight
right, of what's happened.
But I even sorry, that was just
poor acting even for a kindergartner like it was.
And they were right on her face for it.
It was a close up of her saying it.
I mean, I said it the way I did for a reason.
(39:07):
I am very happy. I am like girl.
Like she had a bomb under her butt and if she flinched it was
going to go off or something. Tamron asks Janelle and Janelle
says I'm very happy. I don't need or want for
anything. Basically, yeah, yeah.
(39:31):
I'm. I'm good.
I'm good. Oh, nothing to see here.
Everybody look away. We're all fine.
Everybody's fine. Everybody's happy.
OK, move on. Everyone in this family is
fucking happy. Oh God, that's good.
Tamron asks all the Brown familyadults.
How do you manage your affections?
(39:51):
We talked about this so many times on this fucking show.
It's like, Oh my God, who cares? The way she says it, though,
you're a mere mortal, Kody. You're just a mere mortal.
Well, someone's got to bring them back down to planet Earth.
Kody says that there's not a
favorite wife who's given
dominion over the other wives.
(40:15):
In other words, there's not a
queen bee.
It's like the question was, how do you manage your affections?
I'm like where are we getting
this from?
Where?
Where did we get from this?
From that to this?
What is happening here?
They must have pulled out.
Maybe he did answer.
Someone answered about how they don't like to show affection in
(40:35):
front of each other to be
respectful of each other.
They might have cut that out
because this does feel like a
later part of an answer at best.
That's what I hate about this tell all.
They're not giving us everything.
It's just it's disjointed as everything is with these guys.
No continuity. I don't fucking get it.
(40:56):
That is something I get hung up on with this production company
and with this show. It's sometimes I'm going, you
guys must think we're really fucking dumb.
It's funny that I'm saying that counter to me saying I don't
know if I would have noticed like the first time I watched
it. But really, it's like you must
think we are literally idiots. Like we don't know what's going
on at all. It's just bizarre.
(41:16):
This kind of was the start of reality TV and they were still
figuring this stuff out. Maybe, and I don't know benefit
of the doubt here, maybe us as viewers didn't have high
expectations of reality TV at the time.
I still don't really have high expectations of it so.
When most people I think would watch Sister Wives as a show
(41:37):
that you have on and you're, I mean, today, most people
probably be scrolling on their phones or doing whatever and who
knows what they were doing in 2013.
I mean, maybe similar vibes. I mean, I watched it, and I do
think the reason that I didn't care so much about the details
was because I was probably occupied with something else is
(41:59):
it's not the most captivating show, you know?
Yeah. As far as a producer, it would
be embarrassing to put out a product that is so disjointed
and hard to follow. It's ridiculous.
I feel like one of the blessingsand curses of having ADHD is
that I notice everything but notice nothing at the same time,
(42:21):
you know what I mean? So like.
I have no idea what you. Mean like weird things that I'm
not supposed to notice and like0 in on them and then can't
focus on what I'm supposed to befocused on so I do notice things
like this and it's it can drive you nuts yeah you.
Know, honey, that's your superpower.
(42:41):
It is, yeah. That's what I'm going to tell my
children when they're probablyinevitably diagnosed with it.
It's. Your superpower?
Tamron asks them. Are you lacking in friendship
for the sister wives? Are you all friends?
And Kody starts answering. I don't think we're lacking.
And Tamron cuts them off. Well, I'm asking the women and I
(43:03):
was like, Tamron, Tamron. I was glad that she cut him off
because it's like, Kody, this question is not for you.
She's not asking if you're friends with your wives.
She's asking your wives if they are friends.
Robyn has to flap her big jaw and she has to answer kind of
mimicking Kody. Well yes, yes, but we all have
things that we need to work on. Very diplomatic answer from
(43:28):
Robyn. Almost like she jumped in after
Tamron scolded Kody to try to ease that pain for him a little
bit. The sting of being told to shut
the fuck up. And they kind of all say yes,
we're all, we're all four friends.
And Christine elbows Meri in a joking way, like Yep, Yep, we're
(43:51):
all friends. Like she's forcing her to say
it. Yeah, and it's obviously
Christine joking, but it's like joking with someone that you're
not on that relationship level with.
So it comes across as really awkward.
And even Tamron calls it out andMeri is uncomfortable by it.
You can tell. Yeah, after Christine nudges
(44:11):
Meri with her elbow, Meri cracksthe joke.
Well, I guess we're not like, ha.
And it's odd, cheesy, and everyone has forced laughter as
if it is a situation that should be happening because
they're so comfortable with
each other when all reality
they're not.
And so it just comes across does
like the energy in the room is
really fucking weird now.
(44:32):
Had shifted, it got very strange
and Tamron says I think that
you all care for each other but I'm
not convinced that you're
all friends and asks who's
everybody's best friends are.
Christine says it depends on the
day and what we need from each
other.
Diplomatic answer yet again.
(44:55):
And Meri responds to Tamron by
saying, I'm not even going
there.
I have some I'm more comfortable
with than others, which of
course is like, OK, Meri.
Once again, a fucking Meri
answer.
And one thing that I wanted to
highlight that Robyn said when
being asked about them being
friends at the beginning was
that she said we all honor each other as sister wives.
(45:17):
And I just thought that was such
a great sentence from Robyn.
We honor each other as sister
wives.
So when you're being asked about
being friends, you're neither
acknowledging or denying, you're
saying you honor each other.
As sister wives, we get to have this fall back of this is our
structure, this is our
framework.
We have to honor each other.
Meri saying that she's closer
with some than others.
I mean, another throwaway thing,
(45:38):
without really saying that you
don't like some people or
whatever.
And that's where in Christine is
like Meri and I have had a lot
of deep and meaningful
conversations.
And there are days where I'm
struggling and Meri's the person
I go to.
There are days I'm struggling
and Janelle's the person I come
to.
There are days I'm struggling
(45:58):
and Robyn's the person I go to.
It depends on where we feel safeat the time.
The closeness changes all the time and I'm going.
I wonder when the last time was Christine went to marry or Robyn
to discuss what she's struggling with.
I don't think it's with any regularity.
Meri says all of the relationships are as different
(46:20):
as our relationships with Kody. Of course they are.
OK, tell me that you haven't practiced these answers without
telling me you haven't practiced these answers.
Yeah, she's got her stock responses down, that's for sure.
And then Tamron takes a natural
turn for us, a easy transition
into Meri's baby decision.
(46:44):
So for those of you that thought
we were done with that, Nope.
Nope.
The flashbacks will continue.
Never.
We will never.
Be done with that. 2046, when
you're listening to us right
here on this podcast, you'll be hearing about Meri's baby
decision.
Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep.
So she says to Meri, you've been
deciding on whether to have a
baby for a few years.
Let's take a look.
(47:07):
I just love.
Let's take a look.
I want to start saying that in
my own life, like when I'm
hosting a meeting, I want to be like, let's take a look.
I'm going to bring up this Excel
spreadsheet.
Let's take a look.
And of course they show clips of
Meri's baby decision, Kody
Hemming and hawing, him clearing
his throat, which is my favorite
part of that entire scene is
him not even being able to get
through a sentence without
(47:29):
having to backtrack or clear his
throat or do whatever.
Choking on his answer.
And Meri's saying let's Stew on
it.
And Kody's saying no.
Let's think on it as a no.
Yeah, and then her telling Robyn
in that weird scene where Robyn is, what did you say,
grimacing. Yeah, God.
(47:49):
Grimacing through the conversation.
Well, he said no, We we've decided.
We decided it, it's going to be a no.
And they show Robyn and Meri's conversation, and as they're
showing that flashback, we get the picture.
In picture, we see Kody watchingthe conversation happening
(48:11):
between them, and Kody looks super contemplative.
It looks like he's got some anger building in him.
While he's watching the footage.Back while he's watching the
conversation between them, it's almost like he can see how his
wives are talking behind his back and he's not liking it
right? That makes sense.
(48:34):
He's seeing the wheels turning for Robyn in the clip and how
she might be disappointed in himand you can tell he doesn't like
what he's seeing. If you take out the Kody Wives
polygamy vibe, imagine sitting at a towel, sitting in a
situation and watching footage of other people talking about
(48:55):
you. So that's something that I
personally don't think I've everhad happen.
It's also a game of telephone you're watching happen because
you were part of the conversation.
Now Meri's telling Robyn the conversation in her words, and
you probably feel like it's not portraying what actually
(49:16):
happened. It's always going to be that way
because everyone has their ownunique perspective on things.
It would be a very, very humbling experience if you were
someone that could be humbled, but Kody is not.
Right. So he's getting angry.
Right, A normal person might take something from that and.
(49:39):
Realize. Maybe craft their conversations
more carefully or do something to have some learning from it.
But. Definitely.
I came across this way and I didn't mean to.
Oh, I maybe need to work on my delivery next time.
Not this guy. No, no, no.
Absolutely not, Tamron says Meri, you told Robyn that you
mutually decided no, but that wasn't a mutual decision that I
(50:02):
saw. So this is what I like about
Tamron Hall here because she does, and This is why Kody
doesn't like her, is that even though some of her questions are
fluff and this whole thing is fluff, there are some moments
where she's going, you know, yousaid it was mutual and it didn't
look mutual to me. And Meri says you can't go into
having a baby one sided. I'm having a flashback now to
(50:25):
our previous episode where she said, you know, having a baby to
fit in isn't a good idea. And you were like, no, it's not.
You know, I don't do things the
way that everyone else does.
I don't do things to fit in.
So I'm not going to have a baby to fit in with you ladies.
Right.
Bizarre.
Really.
And Tamron asked, how did you
feel with Kody saying no over
and over and over?
(50:50):
Oh my goodness.
Meri admits that she wasn't at a
full yes yet, but she was ready to look into it more.
I'm like what the fuck?
And how?
How were you ready to look into it more?
You're spinning your wheels
here, lady.
You're going in circles.
Because this is such a moot
(51:12):
point.
I mean, they didn't even do what
they said they were doing
anyway.
So yeah, she's ready to start
having the conversation about
next steps, and he's saying no.
But even that conversation wasn't really even that.
No. The whole thing is just gross.
It's so gross. Let's move on because I fucking
hate Meri. We're done with Meri's baby
(51:32):
decision. I kind of, I'm not going to say
it, but I kind of feel like even as a podcast, maybe we
should just be like, we are
never talking about Meri's baby
decision again. Yeah, it's very frustrating to
watch. It's.
So annoying. Bad sitcom and Jason like we've
said. This does lead into a different
conversation though about beingan empty nester.
And Kody reminds Meri that technically, she will not be an
(51:56):
empty nester because she can still nurture and be there for
the other kids. That's what this whole thing was
always about, right? Raising families together,
Sister wives, your families are one.
Yeah. I don't understand why she has
to be reminded of that. It was one of those weird
(52:19):
moments where, and I hate these moments, but when Kody's
speaking and I'm going, yeah, you know, like I agree with
Kody, you have young kids, a lotof little kids who need
nurturing and mothering, as you said.
And we've always tried to do that all together.
And even if it was just bullshitfor the cameras, from episode 1
(52:39):
of Season 1, they've made it quite apparent to everybody that
they are raising these kids asa family.
Kody says they are siblings. He beats us over the head with
it. We have talked repeatedly on
this show about Meri. Hello.
You're supposed to be mothering these other kids and giving
examples of what she could be doing to do it.
And so it's hard to not agree with Kody in this moment.
(53:00):
It's so hard for kids to get one-on-one time with a parent in
a normal family scenario, so Idon't understand why they
couldn't even have a rotation where one of the kids spends a
night at Meri's during the, you know, weeknight and they get
some actual one-on-one parentingtime or a special.
(53:21):
Moment yes, because it reminds me of being when I was young I
would go to my grandparents house every summer, my dad's
parents for you know, a week or something and I loved it because
I didn't have my siblings around.
It was all about me. I developed a special
relationship with my grandparents through that and
the only things that came out ofit were positive experiences for
me. You don't even have to drive up
(53:42):
north, you just walk to the next lot in your property, you
know?
That's why it's crazy to me that
she has such a strained
relationship with all of the
children nowadays because she
kind of was set up that she
could have been the parent that they all came to.
She had the most capacity and
spare time for extra children to
(54:06):
come to her.
And it's just unfortunate that
it wasn't that way.
And.
I love the sound of the children
being in the house again.
And I'm going, did you have them
over one day and film this
footage?
Because we heard previously that
all the kids had to be quiet in your house because you were
like, this is the thing about
Meri.
It's like nothing is what it
seems.
Nothing's what she even says.
And of course, this is just a
(54:27):
huge hypothetical, but if
Christine would have been the
wife that only was able to have one child, I think things would
have played out completely
differently in this family.
I think Christine would have had
the children over at her place
all the time, giving them that
extra attention because she, you
know, if she had only had one
child, I just feel like this
(54:49):
family dynamic would have been
completely different.
I mean, you can't do
hypotheticals like that, but I
just makes you wonder.
And it just makes you realize it
is Meri's personality.
Like, that didn't happen for a
reason.
Yeah.
Maybe it was God.
Perhaps.
(55:09):
So now we get to live through
Tamron reviewing how Robyn
shared her sexual history with
the adults of this family when
she joined.
Well, when she was being courted
by Kody, she was very
transparent about her sexual
history and I wanted to make
sure that I said the terms
sexual history because that is
what Tamron said.
(55:30):
And then Tamron asks if Robyn's story concerned anyone.
Was it an issue for any of you
Brown family adults?
Janelle says it never was for
me.
And I'm like Janelle, nothing.
'S ever an issue for you?
Ever.
You didn't give a fuck, you
were.
I shouldn't say that she was
just not affected, she's just
never is.
(55:51):
It wasn't like Robyn rolled up
to this family with her Keep
Sweet headboard with all the
notches on it of all of the
conquests she's had.
What are they fucking talking
about here?
She slept with one guy, she
ended up marrying him and he
fathered her other children.
It's like she didn't roll up
with this bedposts of notches
(56:13):
like what the fuck.
I love that visual of the keep
sweet headboard with the notches
that is so good.
It's so good.
You're right.
I mean, literally she's sharing a story about premarital sex,
getting pregnant, and then
marrying that man.
It's not exactly like, well, I'm
showing up with my STD
screening and I'm clear for everything
except for
definitely one. We all know she got one, so, you
(56:34):
know, it's just weird. They're making her sound like
she was a street Walker, which Ido like to imply, but that's not
the case. Well, we know she did that to
pay for the homes, but she wasn't doing it at this time,
allegedly, Allegedly. And oh, we get another example
of why. Literally Kody.
I think Kody does love Robyn. For what reason?
God only knows. But he says.
(56:56):
When I first met Robyn, in my view, she was a pure woman,
someone I respected completely and ultimately now, honey, as
the respectful man on this podcast who always bends at the
knee, always puts women first, I'd love to know what you think
about how Kody thought Robyn was a pure woman.
(57:18):
It's just misogynistic to even think that she needed that
approval from you to begin with, right?
That she needed you to think that way about her to begin
with? Oh, she just needed you to.
Yep, she needed that to fulfill her in some sort of way and make
her feel good about herself. It's just so self-centered of
(57:39):
him. It's just self-centered.
He was married to three women. She didn't have to be concerned
if he was fucking pure. And why would you even be
worried about if someone was? It's just, yeah, it's so gross.
The whole sexual history thing
in relationships is it's a red
flag to me if somebody asks how
many people you've slept with.
If you're coming into a
(58:01):
relationship with pure
expectations, you shouldn't
care.
You shouldn't care about their
history.
What matters is the here and now
and how they are with you and
that their history has brought
them to this moment and that
they've learned from it, whether
it be sexual, whether it just
be, you know, the lessons that
(58:24):
they've learned in life.
That's what makes a person who
they are.
So why does it have to be such a
big thing?
It's a religion thing, and
that's where I struggle with the
we don't judge people, we just
love everybody.
Bull fucking shit bullshit
bullshit.
Bullshit.
(58:46):
I'm thinking even if I wanted to
give them a little grace, I do
feel like there might be a
difference between being 21,
you're in college, blah blah
blah and you discuss your body
count number.
And I don't want to say that
anyone should be ashamed in that
situation, but I can see how
that would be a thing a little
bit more than a 30 plus year old
woman with three kids and a man who's married to three women.
(59:08):
It's like this is just so not
applicable.
It's just strange.
It isn't applicable at all.
It is weird.
I, I've just feel like there's
just another way to shame women though, to, to ask the body
count question when you start
dating.
I it's a way to, it's a way to
shame people and it's just
unnecessary.
It doesn't matter.
(59:29):
It's got nothing to do with the here and now, so.
And so unfair based on gender
because I don't know any man in
my life who feels like they need
to downplay their sexual
history at all.
I mean, let's say I've met one
or two men in my entire life
that feel like they need to
downplay their sexual history
for some reason.
(59:51):
Women have such pressure for
that and it's ridiculous.
I feel like if a man downplays
it, it's probably more for
internalized shame, maybe around
something that they've done or
that they like slept around, but
for women it's.
The external shame and then that
internal shame that you get
(01:00:12):
from how you were raised and like the
internalized misogyny
and you know, whatever.
So they just this whole chastity
conversation and spiel that was done by Robyn is disgusting to
(01:00:32):
me that they put it on TV and
it's because of the time.
I get it.
This was this aired a long time
ago, but do you think that they would do this now?
Probably they would.
I don't know what I'm talking
about.
They would.
They would, and I would argue
that it really wasn't that long
ago.
It was literally just 13 years
(01:00:54):
ago.
I mean, I just, I'm right now,
for some reason, I'm getting a
visual in my head of like the
boys all together, high 5 and
smacking hands about the, you
know, another conquest, another whatever.
And that's a stereotype that I
have.
But for some reason women are
supposed to be ashamed of
something similar.
And I I just it's.
(01:01:14):
Gross.
Yeah.
I feel like whenever I started
dating somebody, if they ever
asked me how many people that I had slept with, I would just
say, you know what?
I don't know.
Yeah, because to me, like you're
asking me that because you
obviously are going to feel some
type of way when I give you my
answer, whether it's less than
you'd hope because I'm
(01:01:35):
inexperienced then and I'm naive
and you don't like that
because, oh, maybe she's not going to be
a good, good lay
because she doesn't know what todo or oh,
she's slept with too
many people and she's a whore.
She's a slut.
I don't want to be with her.
Oh, she's loose.
And that's just the stereotype
that either way, you're damned
if you do, you're damned if you don't.
(01:01:55):
So I would just be like, you
know what?
I'm not sure.
I'd have to think about it.
And if their reaction was what
it probably was going to be,
then I fucking knew right then
and there that they were not the
person.
I would love in a situation like
that, to be able to have the
gumption to say, what number
would you like to hear?
Like, do you want to hear 4
'cause I'll tell you 4.
Like what do you want to hear?
(01:02:17):
Do you want to hear 10?
I'll tell you 10.
You know, if you're a
homosexual, it's like you want
to hear 82 'cause I'll tell you 82.
Like what number do you want to fucking hear?
Yeah, if anyone that's listening
to this is younger and going
through the dating scene right
now, or even older and going
through the dating scene and
you're hearing questions like
this, it's just it's a red flag and it doesn't need to be a
conversation.
And we're we're in fucking 2026.
(01:02:40):
It doesn't need to be a
conversation anymore.
But during this scene, we get a flashback to Robbins purity
speech in front of Meri's
crooked fireplace mantle.
Every time I see a flashback to Robbins purity speech, I just
part of my heartwarms over that crooked fireplace mantle.
They include a couch moment from
that episode where Robyn is
(01:03:01):
sitting next to Kody and they
use this footage in the episode.
But she explicitly says in this flashback that she had
premarital sex with her
boyfriend and I don't recall
watching that during the
episode.
Remember this is like we made
fun of it how she was like oh
and he wanted whatever he
wanted.
Then there was a long silence
and then she's like, so then I
(01:03:22):
was pregnant.
We made fun of it because it's
like you missed a step.
They skirted around it.
And in this footage, they're
showing her talking about it.
And this is not the last time
it'll happen in this episode.
And I'm going, you know, what I like about reality TV, at least
now, is they'll put a little
thing in the bottom third saying
unaired footage or something.
Because it's like, why are you
trying to make it seem like we
knew this or that?
(01:03:43):
She was upfront about this,
right?
She was, but we didn't get that in the episode.
Tamron claims that she cried
while watching this during the
show.
Tamron lost some big points for
me on this.
Me too, and Robyn says that a
lot of girls hide this,
especially in our church.
I can tell girls not to sell
themselves short.
(01:04:08):
Oh my gosh, again with putting
down your children's father.
OK, we get it.
Yes, Tamron uses this as a segue
into asking them how they
discuss sex with their children
and how they plan to talk to
them about it.
(01:04:29):
And Christine says that the kids
can always come to any
parents. Her kids can always come to her
with any question anytime that they need to.
But she also says this is a conversation you can have with
me, your dad, and your other moms.
And that's all. I thought it was interesting
that she segmented that the question is for their parents
(01:04:50):
and their parents only. This brings up an interesting
topic thing I I don't feel like I would want to tell my children
they're only allowed to ask sexual questions to me there
probably should be some other person they can go to and it
felt very cult vibes to me. I don't know why you would
(01:05:12):
emphasize to your children that they should only talk about sex
or ask questions about sex to their parents.
Because we have a script, and weonly want you to know what we
want you to know. Yeah.
And that's it. I also found that Robyn's
language about selling herself short, yeah was very telling
about who Robyn is. Selling herself short.
(01:05:35):
Most people probably would glossover the notion of selling
yourself short in the way that the statements usually meant.
But then when I think about Robyn, I think, no, you probably
think you have a monetary value actually, that your value
is something to do with how
you should be treated, the
lifestyle you should have, the
things you should get.
(01:05:55):
You're so much better than that guy.
Exactly what you. Settled for Yeah.
Janelle says that Maddie has come up and had a conversation
with her before about how she sees other kids in the school
and how their choices have affected them, and she's happy
with how their family has dealt with things.
(01:06:15):
And she sees it now. She sees it in this public
school. I felt like that was just
Janelle trying to affirm that. Oh yeah, yeah, we, we we've got
this. We did it right.
My older child comes up to me and tells me.
Janelle continues that every choice you make in life, be it
drugs, alcohol or sexual purity, have consequences.
(01:06:38):
Every parent is trying to do their best based on how they
were raised. So it just, it just sucks
because we have enough research,we have enough knowledge that we
know purity and abstinence talks are detrimental to our
Children's Health. They just really are.
(01:07:01):
And you need to face the facts. And in this time, they already
knew all those things. The statistics were there and
they weren't. They weren't heeding the
warnings. Yeah.
One thing you've said on this show that I agree with, and I
think it's so important for any parent out there that's
listening, is the importance of being available to your
(01:07:24):
children. If they make a quote UN quote
mistake, if they do something and they're fretting about it or
they're upset about a decisionthey've made, really trying to
be someone that they can come to, especially if you're going
to operate from the lens of you come to your parents with
things, then be the parent that your children can.
Come to then your kids can't be scared of you.
(01:07:46):
They need to be able to come to you and you're going to set them
up for success or failure based on and yourself for a
success or failure based on
how you react to things that
they come to you with.
Even as a small child.
Like we were talking the other day and my son knocked over some
of our studio equipment and instead of trying to hide it, he
(01:08:08):
came upstairs and he told me what had happened.
He's four years old. He came and got me.
He asked me for help. And while I was mad, I took the
time to say to him, thank you for coming to get me to help
with the situation. You know, you're not supposed to
be around that stuff and that this could have happened.
But thank you for coming and getting me, you know, to help
(01:08:30):
you instead of trying to hide this.
And I gave myself a little pat on the back for that because if
I was that kid and if I had knocked over some of my dad's
art equipment at that age and I did do this, I would have tried
with everything in me to hide it because I would have been
scared. So scared.
(01:08:51):
I would have been so scared of the consequences.
I I definitely did try to hide things and did hide things as a
child because of it. I think it's important for any
parent out there right now who is struggling with anything in
this realm with your for your children is whatever you can do
to make them feel comfortable to talk to you.
Yeah, is super important. And then to manage your own
(01:09:13):
reactions like you're the parent.
Please manage your own. You can have any feels you have.
You can be super fucking pissed
in your brain, but manage your
reactions as best you can and
try to have an open space for
your children.
Or if you do have a big
reaction, admit to it afterwards
and say, you know, I had a big
feeling about that.
This is why, you know, you just have to be open and honest and
(01:09:37):
these guys are not even open and
honest with themselves and
with each other.
So how are they doing it with
their children?
I don't know.
They can't even be honest with
Tamron Hall.
No, Tamron.
Well, and of course, with all
this purity speak, it gives
Tamron an opportunity to ask if
Mckelty is the one that's boy
crazy.
(01:09:59):
Of course Christine says yes,
and Tamron looks over at Kody
and says, Kody, you know your
eyes.
I feel the steam coming off of
them.
And of course Kody has to do the
macho thing.
Do you know that the shotgun is loaded?
And it's like, oh God, Kody,
you're just such a fucking
walking stereotype.
Right.
Tamron also asks Kody.
Do you think that boys will see
(01:10:22):
that you have 4 wives and think that you're more laid?
Back Yeah, yeah, I.
Thought that was interesting
because, yeah, Robyn says that
when people come up to them,
sometimes they joke and say
you're a pimp because they just
don't get it.
And I think she's thinking of
this in the literal pimp sense.
(01:10:43):
But I don't know if anyone remembers how big the word pimp
was at this time. It was such a part of our
vernacular in the 20 tens. Pimp my ride, pimp this, pimp
that. You're such a pimp.
It didn't mean that they thoughthe was an actual pimp.
Yeah, they're really leaning into the whole notion of him
(01:11:07):
being some sort of authority figure and his wives being
little subservient whatnots. Or just the literal pimp.
Like a literal pimp. People mean.
Probably when they're 2013, if a13 year old was like, yo, that
guy's a pimp. It's like it's not meant to be
so literal. Yeah, God, Kody says that he
(01:11:28):
just walks away. I just, I just walk away when I
hear things like that. They just don't know.
They just don't get it. It's how big of you, Kody.
Yes. Tamron asks can your girls date?
And Janelle says Oh yeah.
Christine says Mckelty can't
because she's 17, which of
(01:11:49):
course you know Tamron has to
look at everyone for what this
means.
And Janelle says they need to be
16 before they can even group
date.
So Tamron's kind of looking
curiously like, so you can group
date at 16 and individual date
at 18.
And Christine says yes, but
please don't, don't individual
date.
And I'm like.
(01:12:10):
What the fuck?
What does this mean?
So if your 18 year old child is being asked to not individual
date even in a joking manner by you, it's like what are you
talking about?
Who is going to not date ever?
She didn't say it jokingly
either though.
She said it like Oh no, oh gosh,
clutch in my pearls.
Like can you even imagine?
Right.
(01:12:33):
An 18 year old going out on a
date is too much for Christine
Brown.
Yeah, I don't even know what the
fuck to say to that.
The next thing we're going to
talk about is the panel
discussion.
Oh boy, oh boy, one of our
favorite episodes.
Oh yeah, and they show us
flashbacks again.
(01:12:56):
They don't give us our little
morsel of Tamron saying let's
take a look.
No, what is it?
She didn't say.
Let's take a look,
unfortunately.
No, they show bits of the panel
discussion that they didn't show
during the episode.
Again.
Yeah.
One thing in particular here is that they show Kody saying,
(01:13:19):
Kristen, I am nothing like your husband.
Let's start there.
Yeah.
So things did get maybe a little
more heated than what they let
on in the actual episode, which I'm kind of shocked that they
didn't go there then during the episode because this was more
heated than Robyn's dumb ass
response to what was said.
(01:13:44):
Her first chugga, chugga Choo
Choo.
And then her actual response,
which she'd been waiting the
whole time to say as he.
Pointed out she'd been bidding
her time to say her famous line.
And that was more salacious. And also, when Colleen was
sharing about her back story, she included that her father
went to jail because of the abuse happened in her home.
These were things that should have been in the fucking episode
(01:14:06):
and would have been. I don't know why they would have
not included them. Because we needed a little more
juice to align with the reaction from the Browns about
how, you know, they called it
a debate.
And even Tamron said, well, it
was a discussion and you called
it a debate.
Like she pointed out that it was
like, why was it so contentious in a way?
And then they show this extra
footage and it's like, well, OK,
(01:14:28):
this actually does make sense
that it was more contentious
than what we even saw.
We talked about this during our
panel discussion episode where
they give us bits and clips and
not everything, and it felt
disjointed.
And they're doing it again with this tell.
All right now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It fucking sucks because from an
editorial standpoint, if you're trying to make a point, include
(01:14:50):
the things that make the point
at.
The very least telling for your story.
What the fuck?
So frustrating.
But my favorite part of this
flashback, I have to say, was
Professor Creepo.
When they're wrapping up the
panel, he says, well, we're out of time and God willed it, I'm
sure.
And I thought, did we miss that
(01:15:11):
in the first?
Did I miss that?
Did he say it?
I don't know if.
I don't think we saw it.
I.
Don't think we saw it because I was like this is so amazing
we're out of time and God willed
it I'm sure.
Fucking Professor Creepo.
Good.
Someone give him a cookie for
that joke.
Cameron asks Christine about
being nervous to see her aunt.
(01:15:31):
Oh, I mean, excuse me, her
mother's sister.
And Christine starts out by
saying I'm frustrated with her.
She's publicly against plural
marriage, and here I am just
trying to show that we're
normal.
I spent so many summers at her
house.
We had good talks and I watched her dysfunctional marriage and
I knew her and now she's against
me and This is why it's so
(01:15:56):
just another point of why didn'tthey
keep in Kody's thing to
her aunt being like your husbandwas an
asshole and I'm not
like him. And here Christina's doubling
down on that and like OK, we know it.
We know it. The wives seem to me to be in
denial about the things that theanti plagues were talking about
and paralleled in ways where itwas like, but no, you've
(01:16:18):
actually experienced this and inthe future you will acknowledge
that. So I'm wondering, you know, is
there lifestyle changes from getting on the show?
What's really fueling their stead fitness and their
defensiveness? Like, what part of becoming
famous and having, you know, to not live in poverty anymore
plays into their, you know, absolute rejection of anything
(01:16:40):
that they're talking about? And everything's great and
everything's fine and everything's wonderful when we
know in the future that it's not.
But they seem so defensive and adamant about defending their
marriages. And it's like, well.
Well, and it's weird because Christine says right in that
whole spiel that she watched heraunt's dysfunctional marriage.
(01:17:01):
She saw it. She's admitting it right there
that she saw these cracks in heraunt's marriage and that he
wasn't a nice guy. She said that during the panel
and Kody's saying, well, I'm nothim, I'm not like him, I'm not
your ex. So obviously she saw dysfunction
(01:17:22):
growing up. So I don't understand this
disconnect. They're just in denial of their
situation. And that's why I'm wondering
what the fuel of that denial is.And I think it's their current
lifestyle. I think it's that they need to
keep the show. They need to keep a good face.
And of course, I mean that's. The cult vibe, it's self
(01:17:44):
preservation. Yeah, and it totally feels like
the cult thing to me. You know, keep sweet.
The whole thing's so convoluted to me.
I lose track of my own thoughts when I'm thinking about it
'cause it's so fucked up. Same, same 'cause then Robyn
says that they're there to tell us that we are wrong.
They're just, they're just thereto tell us that we're wrong.
(01:18:06):
And Kody says that they are letting their bad experience
influence all plural marriage. That's kind of what we do,
though. We let our perspective guide us
in what we know and what we understand about the world.
So Robyn says again, we validatethat they had a hard time, but
it doesn't happen in our home. We get that.
(01:18:31):
I I don't understand how they can't come to the conclusion
that yes, there are both sides of things and these people
aren't out to get you. When Robyn was circling back to
when the panelists were saying you're wrong and your family
needs to be broken apart is whatRobyn says.
(01:18:53):
And I'm going I don't recall anyone on the panel saying that
now once again it was edited, but I didn't get a vibe that
anyone on the panel was saying that the Brown family needed to
be broken apart. I don't think anyone was making
any action item requests of them or telling them that they
should be doing something.
It felt like the anti plagues
were trying to share their experiences and a broad brush of
(01:19:18):
what the culture is like. And for Robbins take away to be
that they were wrong, that the Browns were wrong and that their
family should be broken apart. It's like that's so extreme.
It's once again, where are you coming up with these you should
be's and what should happens because no one else is saying
that. Yeah, this is where I, I do like
(01:19:38):
where Tamron goes with this because Janelle starts saying,
well, we're willing to validate the negative experiences, but
they aren't willing to validate the positive experiences.
And Tamron cuts in and says, butare you the norm or are they the
norm? Yeah.
Hello. What's the, you know, common
(01:20:00):
thread here, right? What is the higher percentage
here? The good or the bad, you know.
Yeah, with that validation speak, you know, Kody echoes
what Robyn was saying. We validate that there's abuse
in the culture, that there was abuse that happened to them.
And Robyn Wright, we're not saying these things didn't
happen in the communities or in plural marriage.
(01:20:21):
It's like, OK, OK, got it. And so Tamron says, so you're
saying it doesn't happen in yourhome.
Which brings me to Colleen, which gives Christine an
opportunity to kind of have thislittle moment talking about
Colleen. And she's like, my heart, it
just breaks for Colleen. She's had a tough, tough go.
(01:20:42):
When she met us last summer at the end, it seemed like it was
somewhat a positive experience. And with seeing her on the panel
and seeing her so angry still, well, it was just like, her
heart's still breaking. It's just sad.
I feel like this is all a bit dismissive of the situation,
(01:21:05):
right? Like, Oh yeah, like her heart's
breaking and she's had it rough, but why isn't she better
now or something?
It is very like, why isn't she
over it? Because she had a good
experience with us. We were supposed to change her
mind. And weaponizing this therapy
speak is driving me nuts with this fucking family.
We validate her. We validate her negative
experiences. We validate they don't validate
(01:21:26):
that we have positive ones. I hate weaponizing therapy
speech. It really gets under my skin.
Yeah, I just kind of thought that was, again, a big nothing
burger. It was just a way to, you know,
try to bring up hope. What we tried to help her.
Right. Yeah.
It's unfortunate that she couldn't see light from our
eyes. Whatever bullshit Tamron brings
(01:21:47):
up from the outside. Are you the norm?
There are men who have been accused and convicted in many
cases of child abuse and spousalabuse.
Are they the norm? And Janelle says, well, from
families we know we are the normFucking Janelle.
Janelle is just so quick at pulling the wool over the eyes
(01:22:09):
or doing whatever she wants to fucking do to make it move
along, move along. Yeah, Tamron says, well, why
aren't more people standing up? And Christine says, well,
because they're afraid. And Meri talks about how she
lost her job when they came out,and it's not fair for them to
put this on to others. And nobody else has stepped
(01:22:30):
forward. But we also can't put that
burden on other people. From what I know, the Browns and
the Dargers are the two that Ihave ever heard from kind of in
this world. And then obviously their
immediate family, the, you know, their moms that come and join
(01:22:50):
for episodes here and there and Robyns, some of her sisters that
come and Meri's sisters. But I think you need to see that
and recognize that and just say we understand that we are
kind of the exception to the
rule and there are other
families like us out there.
They're not comfortable coming
(01:23:10):
forward yet, which is why we aredoing this.
And you know what instances of child abuse do go up when you
have extra people in the family. There is this, there is that.
And we want to dispel from our perspective some of this
information and help families like us to be able to come out
(01:23:34):
and live the life we're living now.
They can't just say that they have to be so defensive.
And the fact that they're so defensive shows me that they
know there's bubbles cracking intheir relationship and that it's
not as perfect as they're saying.
Otherwise why would you be hiding behind this?
(01:23:58):
Well, it's this is the norm for a lot of people thing and when
Christine was talking about the hard time.
That families have with going public, she says.
It's scary to be very vulnerableand to be open.
And once again, I'm, I'm I'm going to let go about my anger
about the therapy speak. It's just they use these words
(01:24:19):
like vulnerable safe space, you know, blah, blah, blah.
They use these words, but then their actions don't align.
There's a lot of actions that don't align to the words with
this fucking family. They are liars.
The other thing is when Meri talking about being fired when
they moved to Vegas, and if other plural families do this
across the board, then how are they going to support
themselves? Do I believe that Meri was fired
(01:24:42):
because she's a polygamist? No.
Do I believe that she's lying about it?
No. Who knows what the truth is?
I think that she was fired because of the media attention
and she. Was working with youth at the
time that was predisposed to abuse, and the kids she was
working with were part of a vulnerable population to begin
(01:25:05):
with. And the last thing that they
need is some unstable figure that's having a lot of media
attention around them. And it would be selfish,
honestly, to not leave your job in that situation because you're
going to do those children more harm than good because
you're drawing attention to
yourself and in turn to your job
in this situation with the
kids you're working with, right?
(01:25:27):
So for her not to take a step
back and think, you know, due to
the nature of my job, it
probably was best that I took a step back from my job.
Yeah.
You're on ATV show now, right?
Maybe your TV show should be
your.
Job.
I mean, I don't know, maybe you
should figure that out.
Yeah.
The other thing about this lying
fucking family is that the
(01:25:50):
Browns at this point are
currently suing the state of
Utah for discrimination.
I just feel like they are trying
to make it all seem like they
were run out of town.
Everything's so terrible.
No polygamist family is going to
come forward because of all the things that are going to happen
to them.
In all reality, they are suing
the state of Utah for
discrimination and that's why
(01:26:11):
they left the fucking state.
So fuck them.
They're making it sound like
they ran out in the middle of
the night because the police
were coming after them.
Village people with their
torches on fire and getting them
out of town.
You know, like none of that was
happening.
Didn't that all get dropped
anyway because.
There was nothing.
They couldn't prove anything.
And yeah, I mean, but what I
(01:26:31):
think what eventually happened
is that the Browns won their
lawsuit.
But then when it was appealed,
they lost because it was
determined that the Browns were
actually never persecuted, never
prosecuted, no charges were
ever brought, They were never treated
any different than
anybody else in the eyes of the law.
So fuck the Browns for being liars.
Anyway, so I get a little, I geta little pissed because this is
(01:26:53):
what they do, right? They default to that.
We're persecuted. We're like other groups.
We're like fucking homosexuals. We're like other minorities.
And they were not treated that way in the eyes of the law.
I do think of it as well, like this state was damned.
If they didn't, damned if they didn't because of all of the
eyes on them after Warren Jeffs and with all the child abuse and
(01:27:15):
underage marriages and rape ofchildren, how were they not
supposed to investigate the family?
And this is where I have a, a disconnect because I think, you
know, there's overstepping of the state, but then there's
also, well, history has shown us.
And if we don't step in and if there is something going on with
(01:27:39):
these kids, well then what? And I'm kind of torn sometimes
between that and I know I'm surea lot of other parents are, and
CPS is a whole other frickin can of worms I'm not even going
to get into.
But this just makes me think
like, you're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't.
(01:28:00):
I just think about the legal perspective.
People are investigated. All the time.
And if charges don't come from it, charges don't come from it.
And you want to be upset that
you were investigated?
Well, I don't know.
You're on national TV as
polygamists breaking the law in
the state of Utah.
So if they want to investigate
you, they're going to
investigate you.
It's a tough conversation.
Yeah.
(01:28:21):
There's a lot of aspects to it.
Yeah. Tamron asks.
Does it upset you that more? Families don't come.
Forward and Christine says that she feels sad for them.
Kody, of course, takes his usualposterity, saying it's not fair
to put that pressure on them. But yeah, I feel a little
alienated. I feel like nobody had my back.
(01:28:43):
When we get back from a
commercial, we are introduced to
just the grown children of the
family.
We've got Hunter, we've got
Aspen, we've got Leon, we've got
Logan, we've got Maddie, we've
got Mckelty.
Have we got him?
What?
No, it's.
(01:29:04):
Tricking on you.
Continue.
Did I miss Leon?
No.
No, you.
You're just like we've.
Got we've got we've.
Got we've got.
Oh, I was.
I was harkening back to my
olden.
Yesteryear, my olden yesteryear.
Take out the old footage.
Oh.
Yeah, Tamron has to bring up to.
Leon, why was it so tough for you to not get into the homes at
(01:29:26):
the same time? Oh, it was so tough for you to
not get into your house at the same time as the rest of the
children. And Leon says it was.
I think it was because everyone else.
Was getting theirs and I was just waiting and not knowing.
I think not knowing was the mostdifficult part and my Spidey
senses was going. I think that you had to put that
(01:29:48):
little bow on saying that not knowing was the most difficult
part because you realize that and acknowledging that everyone
else was getting what they wanted and you weren't was the
real problem. But you know, whatever, Leon,
Like, you know, we all love you,Leon, everyone loves Leon.
Maddie is looking down. And Maddie's face says it all.
Maddie thinks this is unnecessary drama and that Leon
(01:30:11):
is playing the woe is me card yet again.
You can tell Maddie is realizinghow embarrassing this is, that
this was such a plot point for the entire season.
Come the fuck on. What did you not know?
Did you not know you were going to get the home?
No, you just didn't get in at the exact same time as everyone
(01:30:32):
else and threw a little hissy tissy fit.
I'm imagining going back in timeand with my.
Brothers having a scene filmed and rewatching it and having my
brother being upset about something that was so dumb and
then having to rewatch it over and over and then talk about it
and being like yeah, like are you fucking?
It's embarrassing. Yep, it's embarrassing looking
back because it's. A whole lot of nothing to be so
(01:30:53):
upset over. OK, The only thing I will say is
that Logan gets a little love for me.
Because he does say it must havebeen challenging to see everyone
else being happy about gettingtheir homes and that Leon
didn't. And so, you know, Logan,
upstanding guy. I'm going to give the little
hand heart thing for Logan. Got a little special place in my
(01:31:14):
heart. Logan is very well-rounded and.
Obviously Janelle did a great
job with that one.
Not sure if it's that he is the
first child and got more
undivided attention or if it's
the fact that him and these
other siblings grew up in a more
cohesive family setting.
But there's something to be said
(01:31:36):
about the way that he's
answering these questions and
sticking up for Leon.
And he's answering these
questions better than a lot of
the adults have.
So.
And then Tamarind turns her
attention to Hunter and says,
Hunter, this move was really
hard for you.
But it seems now that you're
(01:31:59):
you're Mr. Vegas.
You're Mr. Vegas now.
Yeah.
With that sporty haircut, Yes.
His sporty haircut and Logan.
Has a little Elvis Dippity Doo
on top of his head as well of
the time I think I sported
something similar.
Both of them, Mr. Vegas.
Yeah, Hunter gives some, you
know, just blanket statement
(01:32:21):
about.
How he likes it there now, now
that they have the houses.
It's helped a lot, and he has a
place that feels like home.
And Aspen chimes in.
It's nice to be all together
before they go on to their next
chapters of life.
And you know, that makes sense,
yeah.
Tamron then asks how college has
helped.
Logan spread his.
Wings.
Was that Robyn?
(01:32:43):
Bird beat.
Comes around the corner.
Somebody mentioned a bird.
Did someone say something about
spreading your wings?
Oh my God, Logan says.
Once you get out on your own and
you get to make your own.
Decisions.
I distance myself from the
family a little bit because I
wanted to do something without
(01:33:04):
my parents guidance for a little
while and I wanted to meet new
people and mature a little bit.
Far more mature than unreasonable than anything the
parents have said. Fucking Logan Rockstar Janelle,
you definitely did something right there for sure.
Snaps. Snaps all around for that kid.
I am so curious, I would love. To hear from.
(01:33:26):
People that he went to college with around this time and maybe
the 1st girl he ever dated or Idon't know.
I just think he's probably a very respectable, like
respectful young man towards women while also not being
uppity because, you know, we've the bull shirt of it all the
(01:33:49):
swearing that he did and the trying to act out against the
parents. We know that he's got a good
sense of humor. We know he's not uppity and we
know he's not all about this chastity bullshit.
So I'm just curious what his college experience was actually
like. And I applaud him yet again for
(01:34:10):
putting distance between himself and the show.
But I would be curious to have amemoir from him as well, along
with his mother. So Oh my God, Logan.
'S story would be so. Good.
So good, then Tamron has to ask what everyone has been dying.
To know, especially after all that chastity talk earlier.
(01:34:32):
Has anyone taken their chastity belt off yet?
Is anyone dating the chastity belt?
Oh, she didn't. Say that, did she?
I'm so sorry. I.
Just love it. I just got a visual of.
Logan wearing a chastity belt, man in the iron mask style.
(01:34:52):
Unlock that chastity. Belt let that man free.
I know Leon says that eventuallythey will date Buzzkill Leon the
buzzkill, Maddie says. I've dated.
I've been, well, you know, I've been on a date.
I haven't dated. I've been on dates and Tamron
(01:35:13):
asks about. Kody and the boys, but.
Also the girls you know if you're going to bring someone
around, some floozy or some tramp.
Gigolo some gigolo, some young person.
That Kody's not. All that familiar with what does
he do? Does he bring out that shotgun?
Does he scare everybody?
And they say if someone has good
character then Kody's OK and
(01:35:36):
that he's not shy to share his
feelings if he doesn't think
that they do have good
character.
Which I love because I'm just
imagining Kody meeting someone
for 5 minutes and coming to some
conclusion.
And typical dad role but even
worse because he's fucking Kody.
Oh God, there's nothing more
awkward than being a girl and.
Introducing a boy to your dad,
it's just so cringy.
(01:35:59):
Well, so cringy, Tamron says to Mckelty.
I don't think it helps things
when you say you.
Want a completely pierced and
tattooed body which I love.
Completely pierced and.
Tattooed body.
Like what a phrase, God,
Mckelsey says.
I think my mom loses sleep over me because I'm so curious.
(01:36:20):
I want to be like the wild
child, but I'm not at all.
And Tamron asks why do you want to be the wild child?
And Maddie interrupts by saying attention, attention.
And then Mckelty and Maddie say.
Attention. At the same time, which was
funny because in between all of this, I said out loud,
attention, like it's so obvious.Mckelty just is so desperate for
(01:36:43):
attention. It's funny, but it's also sad
because like we just talked about.
Earlier, with the wives having to manipulate to get what they
want, the children have to manipulate to get what they want
as well. And obviously our Mckelty is an
orchid and needs more attentionthan some of the other
dandelions children. And she had to figure out a way
(01:37:04):
to get it. You know she's got to scare her
mom every now and then with thetattoo talk and the piercing
talk because God forbid we getting tattoos even though
she's well acknowledging. That she actually isn't that
much of A wild child. She's doing it literally for
attention. Yeah.
And? Tamron asked.
So next season, will we see you having piercings and tattoos?
(01:37:27):
And. But Kelsey says no, I don't
think I'll have either until I'mat least 20.
And I was like scratching my head going 20.
Why that age? Why is this the number
Mckelthey? No.
No matter how much I try to giveher a pass, I just can't.
And then there's a little bit ofa turn, Tamron says.
Your dad said this season, this season.
(01:37:47):
Just pointing that out. Once again, Tamron making a
reference to this season as if the season is done, that he
didn't think about the impact going public would have on you
all. What do you think about him
saying that now? This is actually a good
question. It is.
We're actually getting a good question from Tamron in general.
They talk about being in a
better place now that they're
public.
(01:38:08):
You know, they can claim each
other as siblings publicly.
Logan also talks about walking
down the street with a
confidence that comes from being
comfortable with who you are,
which I once again, like,
fucking yes, Logan.
There's something about becoming
a young adult and escaping
your family.
It doesn't even have to be a
polygamous family.
Escaping your fucking family and
(01:38:28):
becoming a person and being
like, I can be comfortable with
who I am and I don't need to be shamed about the things that my
parents think I should have been
shamed about.
And it is cool that now that
they're public, Logan can
acknowledge who his family is.
He's at a point where he's in
college.
Do you really have to talk about
your family and your background all that much?
I'm assuming not.
But I'm assuming when it does
(01:38:50):
come up, when you're forming
relationships, friendships,
romantic, whatever, that you can
talk about it in a candid way
that they couldn't when they
weren't public.
Well, and even Leon concedes
there's no way we'd be.
Where we are at now.
Oh yeah, so insightful.
One thing about Leon that I
noticed is that.
(01:39:10):
Their appearance is also a
little bit changed from, I
shouldn't say changed.
Leon is more put together.
The hair is done, the makeup's
done.
I feel like Leon might have had a switch between filming of
this season and to, well, the first
half of this season to
this tell all.
And maybe it actually is just
tell all.
Maybe there was hair and makeup,
(01:39:32):
but Leon looks a little more
like I'm on film, I'm being
filmed, I'm put together, my
hair is away, my makeup's away,
I'm sitting a certain way.
I just picked up on this put
together vibe from Leon.
Not sure Leon wasn't wearing
that cut off Jean vest with.
Their farmer's hand showing and
let me take top that Jean vest.
(01:39:55):
Appalling Leon. Looks like their purity has
reemerged. Reemerged.
Ridiculous. Maddie.
Talks about how she can publicly.
Claim her siblings. People know at my school who my
siblings are. I can walk around the halls and
acknowledge my siblings. That's a pretty big deal.
(01:40:17):
Yeah, it's a big deal. It is a big deal.
Can you imagine not being able? To acknowledge.
Your own brothers when you were in school, That would be weird.
I mean, I think that they
probably would have.
Loved if we weren't acknowledged
as siblings.
Oh my sister for sure tried to
pretend that we weren't
siblings.
I mean, it's funny with our own lenses to be like, yeah, I.
(01:40:38):
Think that my brothers would
have been perfectly fine with
not being related to me, but
yeah, it would have been very
different.
Well, we just took it for
granted because of our
privilege, Christopher.
Because we are not from a plague
family.
We just took that so much for
granted.
Well, plus when you were
destined to be a standout and.
Different from the beginning,
right?
(01:40:59):
It's hard to identify with your siblings that wish they would
have never been related to you
from the very beginning.
Oh my God.
And of course, this line of
questioning now has to go into
who?
Plans at this point on being
polygamist and Leon raises their
hand.
None of the other kids raise
(01:41:20):
their hand.
Aspen says they're on a journey
of discovery and research about their own life.
Mckelty wants to fall in love
and have their partnership
decide what's best for them.
I feel like this is a rather
mature response from Mckelty.
Yeah, not confirming nor
denying.
I feel.
Like, of course, it's leaning a little more, you know, No, but
(01:41:43):
you know, who am I going to fall
in love with?
And we should build our life the
way that we want to build our
life.
Yep.
And we'll decide it together.
I honestly think that's more
mature.
Than I probably would have said
at that age.
So I hate to give it to her, but
good one Mckelty Maddie wants to
be a monogamist and only a.
Monogamist only only.
I love that Maddie just.
(01:42:03):
Knows.
And Logan is pretty certain
Hunter hasn't thought about it
at all, right?
At all at all.
And that pretty much wraps up
our.
Time with the elder brown
children.
When we return from this last
commercial break of the episode,
Tamron is back with the adults
(01:42:24):
on the couch and she poses.
The question that often comes up
is if Kody is interested in
taking on 1/5 wife.
Ladies, does it bother you that other women may hit on Kody
when he's out or may think he's hitting on them?
Oh, God forbid.
Christine says people joke about
(01:42:46):
being the fifth wife all of the time, but it's not funny, Kody
says.
It disrespects us and all the
work we've done disrespectful
and Chrissy.
Literally double S down like
it's.
Offensive.
I'm sorry.
The girl lighten up like take a fucking chill pill.
No one is literally getting on
their knees being like Kody
(01:43:08):
proposed to me like it's fucking
ridiculous.
It's a joke.
Tamron makes the mortal mistake
of saying like your.
Swingers and Kody says we are
not swingers.
It is not an open marriage.
We are not swingers.
Christine talks about these
playful questions.
Cheapening their relationships.
I think at this point I started yawning and like looking around
(01:43:30):
the room going, are we really
talking about this?
Do we really think anyone is
trying to cheapen their
relationships some?
You know, for Christine being so
silly and giddy and the little
like, whatever the fairy that
she is, it's like you're taking this a little bit too seriously
here, honey, don't nibble on
Kody's ear.
Calm down, little fairy
Christine.
Give a little nip, a little bite
to somebody and just chill the
(01:43:53):
fuck out.
Of course, we have to hear from
Robyn.
She has to let us all know that
their relationships are eternal and very serious.
Oh God, we made a commitment in our religion to be eternal.
And when someone says can I be
the fifth wife, I'm like
(01:44:14):
sweetie, you have no idea.
This is a celestial commitment.
God damn Robyn hitting us with
the hard truth.
This is definitely celestial.
It is.
Not of this world, no.
Not at all.
Not at all.
And of course, she's flying
(01:44:38):
high, crashing.
Low.
Of course Kody has to crack a
joke about being high
maintenance.
And I had to say, duh, like,
Kody is high maintenance.
So anyone who would joke about
being a fifth wife in their
family has to know, just so you
know, what you're getting
yourself into here is a high
maintenance man.
You do not want to be a part of
(01:45:00):
this celestial union, Kody says.
I think we're a very functional family, right?
Now I'm not looking. We don't go looking.
And Tamron jokes, Well, there's more room on that couch over
there. We've got Christine and Meri and
a bunch of pillows, and Christine says that's not funny.
Can I get another pillow?
(01:45:21):
Can I get another pillow?
Just looking around to the
production team and Kody kind of
interrupts this joking.
And says to answer the.
Question.
Seriously, there's there's no
fifth life.
But he doesn't say no.
He also says that he wasn't
looking when he met Robyn.
Yeah, dot dot, dot.
(01:45:43):
Yeah.
So he's leaving an open-ended.
He just kind of leaves it there.
But we just move on. Quickly again from the.
Fact that he's kind of giving usa non answer and we're going to
talk about the most pivotal moment of this entire series
thus far, the sculpture therapy where they had to sculpt with
(01:46:09):
their bodies and stand in vicinity around Kody to where
they felt they were in the family in their current
situation. Christine, were you happy about
the marriage counseling? She says Oh no.
And Meri says she wants to live in her.
And both Christine and Meri say at the same time, rose colored
(01:46:30):
world, yes, that is what Christine loves.
And everybody knows that. And Christine says, but I know
it's not possible, so I have to embrace that dark side.
And she glances down at her necklace that has the silver and
then the dark side. And I'm going, oh God, her light
side and her dark side, I don't even know.
(01:46:51):
I don't even know. I don't even know.
Do you think Kody was manipulating her?
Like wear this on your neck every.
Day and when you're feeling dark, you just think about this.
You just think that I know this
and it's here.
You're supposed to have a sunny
disposition, Christine keeps.
Sweet.
And when you reference your dark
side, look.
Down at your bosom and she's.
Just like nibbling on her own
hand with her little fairy.
Bites and when Chris and when
(01:47:18):
Christine does this glance down at.
Her necklace that's supposed to remind her that she's half
evil. Robyn is cackling.
Like. A lunatic on the other couch
because of this back and forth. She thinks it's so funny, the
Rose colored world and the dark side.
And she's like almost as funny as caramels.
(01:47:40):
Taking them from a store and passing them off as my owner.
Yeah, Robyn, I have new suggestion for your most
embarrassing. Moments.
It's when you cackled like a lunatic when Christine was
referencing that she has to embrace her dark side.
My God, get that beak out of here, bitch.
(01:48:00):
Hot off the heels of Robyn missing the.
Opportunity to be brought to an insane asylum.
Dipshit. Tamron Tees up the clip of them
doing this body sculpture exercise at their marriage
retreat. And so we have to see that blah
blah blah. Christine acknowledges that it
was hard for her because she didn't know where she fit in,
(01:48:22):
which we saw visually and we experienced.
And then Meri says it was hard for me to.
I felt I needed to be careful. I wanted to be vulnerable, but I
didn't because of each other in the cameras, which Tamron
says.
So are we not seeing the real
Meri?
And there was a long pause while
(01:48:43):
Meri pondered.
And she says, I think you are,
but there's more that you're not
seeing, which I was going, OK.
What I love is anyone could say that about any scenario where
you're not saying anything.
OK, whatever.
Thanks for giving us the
details, Mayor.
But not only no details, but
we're not seeing the real Meri.
(01:49:05):
Things are happening in her life
that we're not seeing.
It's weird because she's putting
on this full front.
Where she's looking straight at the camera saying I'm the
happiest I've ever been.
There is no bomb under my butt
right now about to explode.
If I don't say this, I'm happy,
happy, happy.
She's also saying, oh, maybe
(01:49:26):
you're not seeing all of me.
Maybe you're not seeing the text
messages I'm sending?
To someone named Sam, but you
know whatever.
They show us the clip of Kody
and the.
Wives getting to the hard
hitting question of if he died, would they stay together today?
(01:49:47):
And Tamron says, do you think
that you would stay together if
Kody died?
And they kind of say yes, Yeah.
Meri says she thinks they would.
Janelle says, I don't foresee anything different, which is
such a Janelle resource. I don't foresee anything
(01:50:09):
different. OK, Janelle and Christine says,
but that's Plan B. Like if Kody dies, it's Plan B.
Yeah, yeah, obviously it's Plan
B.
It's weird.
Because they.
In.
The therapy moment of this,
we're all aghast and like you
(01:50:30):
could tell on their faces that
they were kind of thinking no.
And then I think after that
probably happened, they had a
family discussion behind the
scenes and we're like, we need
to be on the same page about
this.
We can't let that happen or our cracks show in that way again.
And it's coming out now where
they're trying to present a
unified front.
No, we would all stay together
(01:50:52):
if Kody died even though the
vibes are still the same of.
Yeah, none of these women are in
not that you're going to be
enthusiastic about your husband dying, but the result of a
death like that, none of them are
actually like, well, I
think if you've referenced The Golden
Girls, you know, I
would see a reaction if you wereactually in
that position of
(01:51:13):
feeling like I would love to spend the rest of
my life with
you regardless of if my spouse died.
And you'd be like, well, I envision US buying a house in
Miami and being like The Golden Girls.
Like there's nothing like that. There's no humanity here.
It's just, yeah, yes. I don't see anything different
that. Yeah, no, I feel like I have
better camaraderie with my girlfriends and with.
You than they do if my husband, God forbid, were to die and I'm
(01:51:36):
in my 50s and my kids are off at school and I would looking at
you and I'd I'd be saying to you, well, do you wanna do
something together? Where are we at right now?
I would be like, how long do I wait after the funeral before I
say? So am I moving in with you
right. Buying a house, like what are we
doing? I mean, I could use the help, we
(01:51:57):
could use the. The friendship, The hell no.
I see. I see where I am.
See this is where I. AM.
In Kimber's life, everyone. On the help but yeah and you
could use my Robyn Ness you. Could use my validation, but
honey, I don't want you to feel like you need to validate me.
I just. Want you to do it.
(01:52:17):
I wouldn't though. I just wouldn't.
It wouldn't be. It wouldn't put me out at.
All that's so true. There's none of that real
organic friendship. Vibes here at all, which is just
bizarre. Yeah.
And as we come to a close of this episode.
Of course. The question, I shouldn't say,
of course, a question from Tamron is about the upcoming
commitment ceremony that we've all heard a little about, but we
(01:52:40):
don't know a lot of details. So it's funny that Tamron's
bringing this up as if it's a future thing that I guess we're
supposed to know. It's a future thing.
I don't know. Whatever.
And she asks, are you all in? What will it be like?
And Kody says it's a party. It's.
Basically an. Inauguration, inauguration of
our family mission statement. And you know, I got to give
(01:53:04):
Janelle some props here because she follows after Kody by saying
it's more than a come over here and have a party.
Come on. She's like, I want it to be
memorable. I want it to be cool.
I want to wear the dresses, a fun formal gown and I love it
because here's this reference ofthe dresses that I don't.
This is where it's even more confusing about how this season
(01:53:28):
happened because they make dresses for the ceremony.
They have custom made dresses made for them, which is filmed
and we see later in the season. And so it's like, did we already
have that happen? Is the commitment ceremony
already been filmed? Now, just so you know, this
triggered me into going what thefuck?
(01:53:49):
And I went up to the last episode of this season, which is
sister wise tell all Part 2 and they're wearing different
clothes they're. On a different set OK.
So I don't know what has been filmed before this mid season
tell all, but it seems like Tamron is referencing things
(01:54:09):
that are going to happen in the future.
Janelle's giving us some, I don't know, spoilers about a
dress and a thing. They might have only planned it,
they might have not actually done it, but it's just more
muffled to the already muddy situation.
It could have been a pickup or alead to the next season.
They kind. Of had her, they could have
ended it one way, yeah. And then this could have been
(01:54:32):
the second scenario that if we continue the season, if we get
more episodes, we'll continue onthis line of questioning.
Like they have ways of filming things to lead to different
scenarios. So I think that's what's
happening here. And, and they definitely could
have already had a plan that they were going.
To do these things and haven't done them, I just think there's
(01:54:55):
plenty of clarity not given in this whole fucking season about
what's really happening. But what you know, whatever,
Robyn, it's going to be more formal and fancy them a little
bolero jacket that I wore at ourwedding.
More fancy than that. I doubt it.
I doubt it. I doubt it, darling.
(01:55:15):
Oh my gosh. I'm just imagining what tote
that's not in a tote. Robyn probably has that in a
mausoleum or something. He probably has its own shrine
in her 4th garage. And Tamron says, well, I can't
wait to see it. I know it's going to be
beautiful. It's going to be fun.
These adjectives beautiful and. Fun you.
(01:55:38):
Know she thanks them all for being open and.
Candid and. Then that's the end of the
episode. Now I already said that I went
down the rabbit hole to the end of the season to see if the
second tell all was much different.
And it did appear to be much different as far as aesthetics,
what they're wearing, where they were.
That doesn't really mean anything.
They could just go to the next trailer over the next studio
(01:55:59):
over and change clothes. So I just don't know really when
this mid season tell all actually happened.
Yeah, let's just pretend it happened when it happened in the
middle of their season. I forget what we really knew
about the commitment ceremony atthis point.
Weren't wasn't it just kind of casually referenced that it was
(01:56:20):
going to happen? It was mentioned that they were
planning. On it.
And it was part of the reason that they did the therapy to
finish the mission statement, towork towards this recommitment
ceremony. And that was their driving force
behind going to therapy. That's right.
That's right. That's pretty much it, yeah.
(01:56:42):
That's yeah. There wasn't really any other
planning or something so. I guess it is.
Teeing it up for us for Part 2 of the season.
I do love that Kody references it as a party and it of course
the inauguration. It's got to use that word.
Well, it's always weird with these tell alls and these Q&A
episodes for Mustard Seed and Shit Stain, but we've got to do
it. It is the law.
(01:57:03):
God has commanded it from above and we do not question God on
this podcast. So Kimber, mustard seed or shit
stain, where would you like to start today?
I'm going to start with my mustard seed because I know I'm
going to steal yours. Oh, God.
And it's going to be Logan. God damn it.
Yeah, I knew it. Yeah.
Little devil horns here. This is how when they say.
(01:57:25):
Women first. Ladies first.
Ladies first, I should even diminish more Girls 1st it's
just fetuses. First, it's.
It. Sucks having a penis.
And a really. Fucking big one because you just
got to give it up and I OK. Sounds good, Logan.
Yeah. OK.
All right, Logan, sitting over your tits up, ready to talk
(01:57:46):
about Logan. Brown.
I've got my tits up talking about Logan Brown too.
You know, obviously he just. Is the best thing that ever came
out of this family in my eyes.Yep, and he stood up for Leon
when Leon didn't really deserve it, trying to smooth things
(01:58:07):
over. He had the best well-rounded
responses. He replied to things better than
his parents ever could have. He's very diplomatic and I, I
don't think anything else needs to be said that it is just
obviously going to go to the king of Vegas when Logan Brown,
I would have included that. He's a handsome young man.
(01:58:31):
But that's just me. Yes, yes.
So Speaking of being a man and. Having to take the hard.
Road while the woman sits by idly.
I'm going to have to give my mustard seed to Mckelty to
Mckelty, Brown, Shucketh and the.
Reason I'm giving my mustard. Seed to Mckelty Brown on this
episode is because I was so surprised.
(01:58:52):
I was pleased by my surprise when she referenced not actually
being the wild child, but leaning into the persona or the
appearance of a wild child. I'm into it.
I kind of identify with it. I kind of feel like in my lot in
(01:59:15):
life, I have at many times been forced in situations to be
an outsider and to be someone
that isn't the norm.
And so I've adopted things that are a bit alternative or wild
child vibes. I think I was misunderstood a
lot, and I think that was interpreted as being rebellious
or being other than when in allreality, I was just doing what
(01:59:39):
felt natural to me and I was whoI was.
And I also do, oh God, at times in my life feel like I would
like to be a little bit more Wilder out there than I actually
am. I'm a bit square.
Being unique is just your cross to bear, Christopher.
And, you know, the sooner you come to terms with it, the
(02:00:00):
better. You're just so unique and
special. And you just need to embrace it
and just let it be who you are.And don't let it weigh on your
back. You know, I'll let it weigh on
my front. Yeah.
I'm not going to turn Mckelty's mustard seed.
Oh, I should have had Mckelty's mustard seed be all about me.
(02:00:21):
Mckelty, you get a mustard seed and that's all I'm going to say.
That's it.
Love it.
Yeah.
I love that for you.
Thank you.
Love that for you.
I've earned that.
Mustard seed from.
Celtic, you did.
Darling, you did OK.
Who's getting your smear, honey?
Who's getting your shit stain?
My shit stain is.
(02:00:42):
Going to go to Robyn Brown.
Good choice because she.
Kept interrupting.
Filming with her beak and her.
Can you imagine how hard it is
to be a producer and get just
all the time in the background
and it's like, God damn it, the
(02:01:02):
flapping of the wings coming up behind you and you're just
like, fuck.
There she is again, Robyn.
Quiet on the set.
Quiet on set, Robyn.
She's flapping in.
She's.
Coming on down that phoenix
rising from the ashes, beautiful
Robyn.
Fire sounds.
Her coming up from hell, her
wings flapping from hell, not
(02:01:24):
from hell.
God, Robyn, you're so fucking
noisy all the time and it's just
got to be so hard for the
editors.
But really, truly, she rags on
her axe again and she is
bringing out that Habsburg
square jaw every chance that she
can and setting it real hard
(02:01:45):
in those person on person views that we see, or whatever the
fuck you call them, picture in
picture, picture in picture.
Views.
Sorry.
Person in person, God, it's
like.
Can she just not let?
Anyone else have a moment?
I just, I don't know.
There's so many things that she
(02:02:08):
has done during this tell all,
but just mostly it has to do
with the beak and the wings and the flapping and the cawing.
And I just, I'm like, can you
just shut the fuck up, honey?
Just shut the fuck up.
Let someone else have the stage
for a moment.
Yeah, anytime anyone else has
the spotlight has a.
Moment is talking, she's got to
(02:02:29):
interject with her two cents
which aren't even worth 2 cents.
She tries to just wrap things up
or.
Make everything sound better or stand up for Kody and just
yeah, I feel like there's something to
workshop.
With Robyn meeting mansplaining,
but it's not mansplaining.
(02:02:53):
I guess it's not, I don't know, but it kind of is because she's
doing it for Kody.
She's doing it.
Like in defense of Kody all the time.
So it's a it's mansplaining, but
on his behalf, because she
knows he can't do it himself, right?
So she's got to do it for him and make him good, capable of
mansplain God. These guys are.
(02:03:16):
Insufferable. He does sometimes, but when he
fails it's like she's watching. Him mansplain and when he fails
at it she's like it's my turn like Oh my God I'm going to put
my big boy panties on now and I'm going to do.
It for him. God Robyn wearing the big boy
panties. Robyn's BBP.
My God. Well, OK, so my shit stain this
(02:03:40):
episode is going to Meri Brown.I feel like over the course of
this show, I've given Meri so many mustard seeds and so many
shit stains, and it's indicativeof my close personal
relationship with Meri Brown. Of course, sometimes I get her
and sometimes I don't. And in this episode it is
highlighted multiple times. Her disconnect from everybody
(02:04:02):
else. Yeah.
Her siloed Ness. Her.
I'm going. To pretend to be a victim or I'm
going to lean into how someonecould view me as a victim
pretending to love, pretending to be engaged.
The fact that she has 17 children in her family, so if
the one that is her biological child is leaving, there's still
(02:04:25):
16 others. And OK, so let's just round it
down to 10 that are young enoughthat she could take under her
faux Robyn wings and really embrace and help raise as a
supposed mother to them. That's all out the door.
She's too busy texting a stranger from the Internet.
Fuck Meri Brown, even though sometimes I love you Mayor, fuck
(02:04:47):
you. You get a shit stain.
Now I know we started this episode off by saying.
That it was probably. Going to be easy, breezy,
beautiful cover girls, could be quick and fast and all of that
because nothing happens in this episode and I'm going to blame
you, Kimber. Never.
It can never be easy. Especially with me and my.
Big beak and my fucking. Loudmouth.
(02:05:07):
Jesus Christ, I'm so sorry. I kept trying to wrap it up and
I'm like, OK, Kimber just got to pull a Robyn here.
Just got to keep going. Round Robyn.
Round Robyn. But for those of you that have
stuck around here till the end. You're going to be able to hear
our Keep Sweet moment this week, which is on Apple Podcast
from Ainsley.
Thank you Ainsley, their review
(02:05:30):
of our show is titled I Nominate Y'all for My Mustard
Seed.
Isn't that cute?
That's cute and clever.
Ainsley says.
I am a huge Sister Wives fan and
know all the lore.
I've caught up on every other
Sister Wives podcast and was in
a bit of a Sister Wives content drought.
My mom recommended you guys to
me and I can't get enough.
(02:05:53):
Thank you both for making me
laugh.
Keep it up.
Hand heart emoji, like the hand
heart I made earlier, and that
is so sweet.
I love it.
I love God, I said sweet.
I regret every time we say sweet
after the whole sweet thing.
But really, thank you Ainsley
for the nice feedback.
It actually is sweet.
That's actually super cute.
(02:06:14):
They know I love that.
Your mom suggested us and that
you're listening.
And you're not going?
Oh my gosh, my mom should never suggest anything to me ever
again.
So great.
Love that you've.
Caught up on our episodes I
love.
That me and my mom are biffles.
You know best.
Friends for lives.
I love this for you, Ainsley,
and it just warms my cockles,
(02:06:36):
you know, and I just want us all
to take a moment, take a deep
breath, put on our affliction
shirts with the wings on the
backs and go fit down and fly
out into the sunset.
Doesn't that just what's an
Affliction shirt?
