(00:10):
What does the nanny do? OK, so we're done.
Goodbye. You shut it off.
Do not twist my words. Do not make me a victim.
Sweetie. Just look at the mountain.
That's what you. Saw that day just the knife in
the kidneys over all these years and the sacrifices that I made

(00:31):
to love you. She's back.

(00:52):
Kollene with AKA resident fashion expert, beauty expert,
model extraordinaire. Girl with an opinion.
Girl with amazing eyeshadow. Girl with an experience girl
that you have said may or may not have looked like you, may or
may have not looked at a time or two.

(01:13):
For sure, I keep getting flashbacks to my yesteryear.
It's not hard for me to connect those dots.
I can see it. I can see it.
Short blonde hair that was out of control.
Looks a little ridiculous. I wasn't as good as her at
eyeshadow, but you know, I wish I would have been.
She's definitely made some statements with her mouth and

(01:36):
with her appearance, and we've been here for those first
statements and now we're going to get some more from Kollene.
She has returned in Season 6 episode 9 of Sister Wives called
Sister Wives on the ropes. Oh, La La.
Now we'll get into why these sister wives are on the ropes,
but I think Kimber, you might want to talk about some

(01:57):
previously on. You've been feeling the
previously on and the coming up on vibes recently.
We had a flashback of previously on to the kids visiting
Kollene where they were doing charity work for Holding Out
Hope. Reminder to you guys, they were
helping families that were escaping polygamy basically from

(02:20):
the FLDS church. That was when we met Kollene,
obviously. So they're going to remind us
who Kollene is in this flashbackand then we get the next on.
A collection of clips from the upcoming panel of which the
Browns are going to do pro polygamy.

(02:41):
Anti polygamy is how they're teeing it up.
And I guess that is where we endup landing.
But well, we'll get you all there.
We're going to go on a journey. Then we just all of a sudden
hear ominous music. I don't know if it was ominous
so much as I don't know how to explain it, but it was obviously

(03:03):
supposed to evoke emotion. OK, OK.
And we get something that I don't think we've seen on this
show before where they go 2 daysprior to the panel at UNLV.
Yeah. They don't say at UNLV.
That's revealed later, but I'm letting you guys all know now.
This panel is going to be held at UNLV.

(03:25):
I feel like it is our first episode where it's probably more
common today in reality TV in particular, where they start
with something and then it's twodays earlier.
Like we get back to the beginning.
Now. We don't get any real dirt in
this opening with the clips fromthe upcoming panel.
They're just showing us a few things that we've pretty much
already seen last week. What's telling us about what's

(03:45):
coming up? But then it cuts to the two days
earlier. And so now we all know that
there's going to be drama. Leading up to the drama two days
prior, we're at Christine's house and we've got little truly
getting ready to head out to Robyn's.
Truly's heading over to Robyn's to play with the other children

(04:06):
and the family. Yes.
And I don't know if this is a setup or if it's an honest thing
that happened frequently, but,you know, they are trying to let
us know that those children are going house to house like
they thought they would. I do feel like one of the
parents, whoever was in the shot, probably Christine, I
guess, was saying like call Robyn and let her know that

(04:27):
she's on the way. And it's like, well, that
doesn't really fit with the vibes of just going door to
door, although truly is a littlescrumptious.
She's just a little scrumptious.Scrumptious.
So, you know, safety first, safety first.
Kody tells us that this week their family is participating in
a panel with people who may beagainst polygamy.
Fundamentally very interesting, Kody.

(04:49):
We're on the couch and everybody's talking about their
nerves and we find out that there are going to be 4
panelists on the anti side and then Christine says there's one
of them. Yeah, one versus 4.
Meaning the whole of the family as a one.
Yeah, yeah. The together polygamists versus

(05:11):
the four anti polygamists. And some of the wives take issue
with the fact that she is calling them one.
Yeah, it's pointed out to her that they're actually 5 because
there's four wives and a husband.
So there's actually five of themversus 4:00 on the other side,
not quite the one versus 4 that Christine was teeing up.
I kind of understand where Christine is coming from here

(05:33):
because she means four people. Five people with the same story
versus 4 with different stories.
Yeah, so she probably means here.
It would be nice to have some other support from an external
family. Well that makes sense.
Also, I just assumed that Christine was always really bad
at math. I mean, wow, jumping to

(05:54):
conclusions here. Jumping to conclusions.
Christine shares that she told Aspen about the panel, and Aspen
wants to go because Christine is so nervous and so she wants to
be there to support her mother.
And this is where Christine kindof lets it slip that it's at
UNLV. So at the beginning we didn't
know that, but then it is just casually mentioned and it's
like, oh, you're just in town atthe university.

(06:15):
I think that they were trying tomake it seem like a bigger deal
than it is at the beginning. Yeah.
And then we find out it's at UNLV.
And Aspen is pretty cute here because Aspen's like, I want to
find out more from the other side.
Aspen was with when they did their initial Holding Out Hope

(06:37):
volunteer work. That's right.
And so Aspen is probably a little excited to see Kollene
again. Yeah.
Maybe. And also why not go with Aspen's
getting older? She's old enough to go and see
this and she's cute and saying that she really wants to support
her mom. She knows how nervous her mom is
and I can appreciate that. Aspen seems to have her shit

(07:00):
together. She does.
There might just be some potential drama to witness.
So as a teenager, I would have been like, Oh yes, I want to
support you, mother dearest. And I know there's going to be
drama. Right.
I love how Christine's kids are always so supportive of her and
they show it repeatedly. We had maybe even just a couple
episodes ago with the Q&A wherethe little girls were talking

(07:23):
about how great she was at cooking and then how bad she was
at cooking and they had a cutemoment where they're hugging.
And I feel like her kids just seem like they love her so much.
They show it over and over again
and it's good to see it. Well, Christine thinks that this
panel is going to end up being antagonistic.

(07:43):
Janelle thinks it'll be a personal experience versus
personal experience, which is of course, I mean, Janelle, she
says, she says these. Things.
And that their experiences may invalidate the Browns
experiences. It's like, OK, so are we just
literally describing what a panel discussion would be at
this point between oppositions?
This is very Robyn coated. The explaining of what's about

(08:05):
to happen that the word is actually implying is happening.
Oh God.
Now Christine gives us an update on one of the panel members,
and she references this panel member as my mother's sister,
which I thought was interesting because your mom's sister
would be your aunt if you were going to just refer to them in

(08:27):
the layman's terms. But her mother's sister, named
Kristen Decker, will be there. I noted that as well.
It was an odd choice of words. She doesn't want to go out and
call her her aunt, which she has done previously.
She's talked about an aunt that is against polygamy, but now
she's saying one of my mom's sisters, right?
She's trying to distance herself.

(08:49):
Absolutely. That's totally the vibe.
And Christine says her aunt will talk about how she had a
horrible experience in polygamy.
Well, OK, and I guess she probably would.
Christine says that her aunt Kristen is completely against
polygamy. She doesn't even think that
people should be able to choose whether they want to be part of

(09:12):
polygamy or not, and she doesn't know how she's going to
feel when she sees her. She's very nervous about seeing
her. Robyn, you know, Robyn,
sometimes she feels the role of Barbara Walters for this family,
you know, asking the really important questions and asking
them so well. She poses the question to
Christine, well, do you love herbecause she's family or do you

(09:35):
have a problem because she's against polygamy?
It's like that is what Christinehas been pointing out to us for
the last minute. So thank you for asking the
question of what Christine was trying to tell us.
She is ridiculous, yeah. God, she always is.
They all look really nice here. Yeah, OK.

(09:56):
Surprisingly, yeah, normal. They all look very put together,
no fry dyed, laid to the side hair.
No, Meri's hair looked like a normal person's haircut.
It was bizarre. It was bizarre.
It was sleeked down, probably with a bunch of product,
probably a lot of oil put in those ends to make them behave

(10:20):
because they're so thirsty. But it looked good.
She looked good. They all look good.
Yeah, my only problem was Janelle's bright purple shirt.
Well, someone in this family always has to be wearing violent
Violet like it just has to attack you.

(10:42):
The purple coming from this family.
At least it wasn't shiny. It was a matte purple.
Oh good it. Was a matte purple.
Showing off every opportunity toshow off is what Janelle usually
gives us with her shiny blouses, but this one was
respectable. Christine says that we're giving
her all the platforms she needs to talk about how much she

(11:02):
hates our family when discussingher aunt.
Continuing to discuss her aunt.
And then we go to her aunt's house.
We get to Kristen Decker's houseand it's interesting because we
see somebody walking up the driveway and this is when we see
Kollene showing up for the first time.

(11:24):
Yeah, and as these clips are playing of people arriving at
Kristen's house, there's this voice over from Christine where
she's going to talk us through who these people are or we get
to learn a little bit more aboutthem.
Yeah, we see Kollene with her very of the time sweatshirt.
It's a white sweatshirt with a fuzzy collar, faux fur collar
all the way around, very of the time, very Hollister, whatever.

(11:50):
And she's got her fried short,
short blonde hair, purple feather earrings.
And I am totally behind this. Totally behind this.
Do you support these choices? She takes that jacket off and
she is wearing a chartreuse shirt.

(12:12):
And I saw myself for a moment and I saw that shirt, and I have
the same shirt, except for when she turned around, it didn't
say. Frankie says relax, don't do it.
And that's what mine would have said.
Relax, don't do it. Yes, I remember that shirt
vividly. I'm sure people that are
listening are going to be able to picture that bold font of the

(12:34):
letters. It's very iconic.
Yeah, I'm almost like astral projecting into Kollene's body
sometimes during this, and I'm starting to like her more and
more. She might not be able to
articulate herself and get across her points because she's
still learning after being away from her cult, but I feel I

(12:54):
feel the vibes. Yeah, there's a lot of astral
projection happening with you. There is, and I just want to
tell you it's because I am such a psychic at heart and I also
am an empath. Capital EME, Absolutely.
We've heard that before, right?

(13:15):
Absolutely. The next person that has a
little bit of a moment during this introduction scene at
Kristen Decker's house is Kristen Decker herself.
She has a little bit of a momentwhere they give her a bottom 3rd
and kind of let us know a little bit more about her.
I didn't really note anything ofsignificance that we don't
already know. She's Christine's aunt and she
left polygamy years ago. We meet a new person here and

(13:38):
when we heard his name announced, Willie Steed, I was
unsure if I heard correctly until I saw his bottom third.
We've got Willie Steed here and he has an interesting haircut,
looks a little bit like a coconut, half a coconut sitting
on top of his head. He's got a coconut haircut and

(14:01):
he just really wants to share his story.
When we're being introduced to these three, we are reminded
that Kollene Snow is from the Kingston Group of Kingston,
Arizona. They don't tell us where Kristen
Decker's from, she's just froma polygamist cult.
But Willie Steed, Willie WILL i.e., good old Willie is from

(14:22):
the FLDS cult. So we're just being reminded
that these people aren't all from like the same neck of the
woods. They're being connected through
their, I guess the volunteeringopportunities with helping
people probably from escaping the cults.
I'm guessing that they all escaped and got help from the
same place or a similar organizations.
Willie Steed has an interesting quote.

(14:45):
He says not every polygamist family is like a wonderful rose
Bush. Out in the motto.
Out in the motto. A Willie to English translation
is not just a wonderful rose Bush out in a Meadow, in case
you were wondering what that wasWillie.

(15:08):
So to accompany this half a coconut haircut, which looks
like a Lego piece, like you could just take it off.
It does it's. Like a coconut head.
Yeah, he also has that kind of aWillie.
Bless your heart, bless your heart, love Willie, but that
look where it's like he's looking through you a little.
Vacant. Stare, yes, just a little like

(15:29):
things are absent and I don't want to pick on it too much, but
I just want you guys to know that the look is not like maybe
someone who missed a few years in life really.
He's scared to make eye contact. It's very apparent every single
time that Willie is talking about his story or talking to

(15:50):
the camera, it's a vacant, distant look.
And we saw that before in the episode where Kollene was first
introduced with the boy that was introduced there, the man
that was introduced there. And I just cannot even imagine
being pulled out of your life atan age and being a fully grown,

(16:16):
developed human and coming intothis world that is our fucking
world. Right, Yeah.
The reason I think I hesitate ineven describing it sometimes is
'cause I don't want to put too much shame on it.
I I don't want to imply that it's well more than an
implication. I don't want to say it's just

(16:37):
like straight up inbreeding. I don't want to say that they.
Admit later on in the episode that it is.
I know. And so this is The thing is
like, I don't want to put him down, but it's a combination of
something to do with the genetics and then something to
do with the real life experienceof what you're talking about,
just being thrust into this world that is nothing like their
repressed world that they're from.

(16:58):
It's very much like Phoebe from Friends.
Smelly cat, smelly cat. It's not your fault.
It's not your fault, Willie. It's not your fault, Willie.
I mean, Willie overall is a goodguy.
You guys are going to like Willie by the end of this.
I love Willie. I can tell already.
I love Willie. Yeah, what's not to love about
Willie? No, he's got these thick

(17:19):
eyebrows and they they match thecolor of his hair perfectly.
Designer eyebrows. It looks like if you had a Lego
character legitimately like what you said.
You said that it clicked for me.He looks like he has a Lego hair
plopped on his head and Lego eyebrows plopped on his head.
I love him already. I can tell he has a long way to

(17:43):
go in growth, but I can feel for this guy.
After he talks about this wonderful rose Bush out in the
Meadow, he make sure to clarify that that's how the Browns paint
polygamy. So he's teeing up that he knows.
He knows what he's getting
himself into here. The polygamists are all a rose
Bush out in the Meadow about their choices to be polygamists.

(18:06):
But that's not how it really is.
He's alluding to the fact that the show and the fact that the
Browns are out there saying all this stuff about polygamy being
wonderful is problematic. Yeah, we hear from Kristen
Decker, and she gives us a little bit of her back story.

(18:27):
She says that her father had 13 wives, her mother was the first
of 13, and her mom had eight kids of her own.
Her father had 23 biological children, and one of those
children was Christine's mom. She doesn't say that, but

(18:48):
obviously we can infer that. As Kristen with AY, very
important to our sister wives, our fellow sister wives
followers because everybody justthrows AY in there for some
reason. It's Kristen with AY and it's
not the first I it's KRISTYN as in Christine, but Kristen.
I told Chris while writing my notes.

(19:08):
I said I'm going to have to spell this incorrectly.
I'm going to have to spell this how I would spell Kristen or I'm
going to mispronounce it because Christine and Kristen
are so close that I would have just ferked this up.
And we get introduced to anotherChristine.
So there's 2 Christine's and then Kristen with AY the end so.

(19:30):
At the end.
Not even at the beginning. I know, I know these people and
their spellings. I.
Think it's because they're reusing so many of the same
names that they have to make them unique.
I don't know what the uniqueness is.
I feel like I've read online jokes about why they do the
wise, but I really don't know. I have no idea.
Please let us know if you know about the wise.
I want to know why with the wise.

(19:52):
Absolutely. Why with the wise?
As we're getting the back story on Kollene, Kristen and Willie,
Kristen is welcoming them into her home, you know, and she's
taking out the spread and putting it on the counter,
preparing some food for them. And it was the whitest shit I
have ever seen in my fucking life.
We're talking containers of potato salad, like the ones that

(20:15):
go into the grocery store pre made, not from the deli, the,
you know, Mrs. Myers or the grandma, whatever good shit.
But like. Welcome to my home.
I'm taking out the potato salad, the veggie trays on plastic,
the million crackers. Just like a million crackers on
a tray. Just like how many crackers can
one person? Well, three people eat.

(20:37):
It's like a 4th of July buffet laid out by a white person.
Totally rough. I was like.
Minus what you going to. Do with this and then it turns
out they're just going to munch on it, sitting in the living
room, continuing to chat. They're not going on a picnic,
they're not celebrating the 4th of July, None of that.
Just. Eating this very, very, very
white food. You pointed out, you go, Oh my

(20:58):
God, the white spread and I'm like pointing at myself.
You mean what I do every time I have company over?
There was just, this is what's funny.
I love me some potato salad. I love myself some crackers and
some veggies, all of that. But it was just like Walmart
special, and I don't know, it was very strict.

(21:19):
Everything is coming in plastic containers.
There was probably plastic silverware and plastic napkins
and plastic everything, like, oh, my God.
Kristen also tells us that she was married at 17 years old.
After she got married, her husband was flirting immediately
to get another wife. Because that's what you do when
you're a polygamous man and you want to, you know, use your

(21:40):
tool of God to spread the word of God.
And she left this man after 33 years.
She was 50 years old. So it's a little weird for me
sometimes to hear about people leaving after 33 years.
She's 50. This is a long time you.
Gave it a college try. You gave it a longer than a

(22:02):
college try, Kristen. She gave it.
A She gave it her best. Listen, Kristen does not quit
quickly and that quick is spelled with AY.
I have mixed feelings about people that are with people for
like Robyn with her ex for a decade.
This woman was with a man for 33 years.
Doesn't mean that it was pleasant.
It's just like God, that's a long time to stick it out.

(22:22):
Think about how long it would take to break your mind to the
fact that you're going to go to hell though if you divorce this
POS. Yeah, yeah.
You know, I will say my parents were married 25 years and got
divorced, and they should have gotten divorced way before that.
Sure, both of them would have been happier.

(22:43):
I would have been happier. And I love my parents, you know,
they just didn't belong together.
And not everything is a failure.
I've said this before. Divorce doesn't have to mean
failure. It just means you're, you
learned enough from that person. You're growing in opposite
directions. And that can be OK for both of

(23:04):
you. Like, let's not look at this as
failure. 33 years is a very long time.
And she seems very proud of the fact that she was 50 when she
left. She even says that she gets very
excited and happy for women that decide to leave in their

(23:25):
older years or upper years. And I can see that because they
have been in this their entire life and they're obviously
willing to continue learning. And she is very articulate.
You can tell she's very, very smart.
So it doesn't strike me as odd that she continued to learn

(23:49):
throughout her thirty or three years of marriage as to why this
is a cult. Yeah, I guess maybe it's just
because I can't be with someone for more than two weeks before
dumping them or them dumping me.So I'm just like, I would never
have the patience for any of this.
But you know, it's just. Because you're too good for
everybody else. And I know that, you know that.
When are the men going to figure

(24:09):
that out? You know you're.
Amount to God's ears, honey. We hear more about Kollene's
story. We find out a little bit more
than we found out previously. And of course she was from the
Kingston community. She says she doesn't call it a
cult. In her interview, she says the
Kingston community, which was interesting to me.

(24:30):
She says that her mom came from a big family of 12 kids and her
mom was the 7th of 14 wives. And it has been three years now
since Kollene left. Kollene is so pretty, by the
way. She is very pretty.
She has very nice skin. She overdoes the makeup.

(24:50):
She overdoes the entire look always.
But I think that's part of rebelling, as Christine pointed
out when we met her before. But she is gorgeous.
She's gorgeous. I'm not sure if it's an
important detail or not, but I thought I heard her say that her
mom had 12 kids so that Kollene would have been one of the 12
kids either way. You know either her mom was from

(25:13):
a family of 12 or she was just basically signifying that this
is a constant in the cults, which we knew but a lot of kids.
Her mom being the 7th of 14 wives.
Like Oh my God it's so creepy. 14 wives.
Oh, even if you just evened it out, that's two days a month
with each wife, which, you know, they didn't even it out, so Oh

(25:36):
my God. It's interesting they are
pointing out the producers are making a point to point out how
large these families are. Kollene reviews with us about
how she met the Browns previously.
You know, we kind of already discussed that, but it was
through this effort where the kids went up north back to Utah
to help with getting people into homes.

(25:57):
And she came back and met Kody and really did, at one point, if
I remember correctly in the episode, kind of acknowledged
that he seemed to be a better dad and husband and guy than
what she was familiar with with her own father.
That might be a bit generous in the way I'm saying it, but that
was kind of my take away. Yeah, she made a point of asking
him previously if he was a good father and if he was able to be

(26:19):
there for all of them. And they had a moment of
connection when they were doing their campground thing up in
the woods. That's right where the girls
came dressed up like polygamous girls.
Oh, that was so. Creepy, awkward with Susan or
Suzanne, the other girl, she went and dressed them up.
Yes. Yeah, that disturbing moment

(26:40):
that happened, she did have a moment of connection with the
family, and I'm sure she feels a little awkward about this.
She points out that the Browns are different.
She makes a point of saying that again and we hear a back story
from Kristen here. She says that she met Kody back

(27:00):
when she believed in polygamy. And when Christine and Kody had
first met, she could tell Christine was giddy and excited
and happy. But she says now when she thinks
of Christine, she wants to go and kidnap her and tell her she
doesn't need to do this. And she is using words like

(27:25):
kidnap to either elicit emotion from all of us or because she's
being very dramatic. I think these words would
isolate people even further. Agreed, I felt it was an extreme
word to use. Such an extreme word.
Particularly because she's talking about her own niece.

(27:47):
And so when the second-half of that statement, when she's
saying you don't have to do this, you just think like you
do. Like we were all told, it's like
those are the rational things behind what you would say to
someone to try to coerce. You know, once again, that's
kind of a dramatic word. But, you know, talk some sense
into them about the situation. But to say that you would kidnap
them? Yikes, that's dramatic.

(28:10):
It's kind of no wonder why Christine's so nervous to see
her if she's been hearing behind the scenes from other family
that this wording has been used or she's wanting to take your
children or whatever. Christine might be hearing from
extended family. She's very nervous to see her
aunt again. And she says, I love her.

(28:30):
She was family, but I'm scared to see her.
And then you got her aunt saying, oh, I would love to go
and kidnap her. It's just, it's a dumb thing to
say. And I feel like it's honestly
the only dumb thing that her aunt says this entire time
because her aunt is very articulate.

(28:51):
That wording was just very unfortunate.
Very very unfortunate to use and get clipped out on this show.
Yeah, it does make her seem more extreme than she does for the
rest of the episode. It does.
It really does. And now we're moving forward
through time to one day before the panel.

(29:12):
Dun Dun. Cue the dramatic music.
It's. One day before the debate,
they're going to meet the moderator.
He's a professor at UNLV. And of course, they're running
late. Kody is running around trying to
get all the wives together. And we get them all packing into
the van. And it's like kind of moment

(29:33):
where they're taking off in the van and the front of the van,
it is all scratched up. It is ferked up.
And I thought to myself, Leon. Leon, did you do that reckless
driving, Leon? I want to know who did this.

(29:54):
Oh my gosh, I was dying. You and I were laughing and.
I thought that maybe you were laughing because while they were
backing out of the driveway, they went over the curb and the
van kind of bounced, but I missed the body damage.
Body damage hitting the curb. They're running late.
Now we get to learn a little bit more about Willie.
Willie is a nervous Nelly, but he's excited.

(30:16):
He wants to let people know about his story.
And Willie is from the FLDS. And Willie says that people
normally think of it as Warren Jeff's community.
Willie comes from a family of 42 children.
My God. Yeah, my God, my Lord.

(30:40):
His mom was the third wife and had 14 kids of her own.
Fourteen of those 42 kids from his Mama.
He says that his experience was difficult and he left one year
ago with some of his family, including his mom and six of his
sisters. Yeah, and they left with

(31:00):
nothing, he clarifies. They had nothing when they.
Left nada and he has dodgy eyes.
What does dodgy eyes mean? Like dodgy eyes, he can't look
at anything. Yeah.
Every time we see him we're getting no eye contact.
Dodgy and it is exactly like what we saw from the first guy

(31:27):
in the Kollene episode previously.
And it breaks my heart for theseguys, it really does because
they are the forgotten. Like they literally are the Lost
Boys. Yeah, definitely.
Skittish is something I take away from it as well.
Just kind of almost like a dog that's anxious like.
It's I agree. I don't know.
Very much like my Italian greyhound goose.

(31:49):
And my yes and my my boy. And when Willie has this moment
where he's catching us up, it'sinterjected while we're at
Kristen's house. And she says they're all feeling
nervous about the panel. They're feeling nervous.
They talk about wanting to expose the truth about polygamy.
Of course, that's why they're
there. And Kristen also tells us she's

(32:09):
excited to see Christine and to give her a big hug.
The niece of her she wants to kidnap, she wants to give her a
big old hug. Hasn't seen her for years
either. Right.
You know, hard to navigate that.
I don't really know. I mean, I guess you would miss
your family member. I don't know.
The Browns finally make it to UNLV.

(32:32):
The slide view mirrors hanging off No just.
The bumper is dragging and it's sparking on the ground.
Robyn can't figure out where to park, as per usual, running
late. Oh, that Robyn reasoning.
Everybody's plans. The Browns are going to be

(32:52):
meeting with a professor who's orchestrating this panel between
the polygamists and the anti polygamists.
I believe he is a professor of anthropology and he is quite the
looker girl. Oh, I got a little chubby
looking at this boy. I was like oh man, alive.
I need a daddy and I needed to be professor.
But then I couldn't say his name.

(33:14):
The problem is is his name was just messing with me and I was
hoping that you could help us learn what his name is.
Darling. William Jankowayak, Jakeowak
and. They do say it and it doesn't
even sound like I would spelt like chuckowak or something I
don't even know. William Jakeowak.

(33:34):
Jakeowak. Let's go with Jakeowak, and I'm
going to refer to him as Professor Creepo because that's
the vibes I got from this professor.
Definitely Creeper. Such a creep.
He has very odd looking hair. It almost looks like he might
have hair plugs, like a doll's hair individually plugged in and
placed in, poking out at the front.

(33:56):
And he colors his hair, but he has a band of demarcation which
means it's grown out. And he colors his beard, but
there are some Grays showing andthere's a line around his face
where he has colored the beard. It's so bizarre because you
obviously care about how you look, but you have roots showing

(34:19):
and you have a line of dye allthe way around your face.
And the beard is significantly darker than the hair on the head
it is, so it's like they're dyed different colors.
It is. It is.
So strange. It screams of just for men.
I don't know what I'm doing. I perhaps wanted to look younger
for this TV interview and now I look like a.

(34:42):
Fool, I look like an idiot. Well he looks like a Teemu doll
like you said, with the like little hair he does.
He does. Going on here.
Robyn Team Uzzadi. Yes, Robyn would throw that doll
in the trash and that says a lot.
Professor Creepo says he wanted to do this discussion out of
curiosity. When discussing polygamy with

(35:04):
both men and women, he heard thevitality of families were
dependent on the man primarily. And I'm going, OK, so are we
really going to get into the roots of your curiosity here?
It's hard for me to understand what his motivation is.
It's just weird. It is weird, Kody says.

(35:24):
It seems like you have somethingat stake here, right?
As if he's studying them and hisanswer is, it's curiosity,
really. Right.
He's just curious about the relationships.
It's so weird. It's so creepy.
This guy's so creepy. He's just creepy all around.
Janelle says that it's weird to be analyzed as a cultural group

(35:47):
is feeling like a specimen in this situation.
Now, do I want to give Kody any credit ever?
No, but it also does seem like they are being analyzed as
cultural groups. I guess they truly are specimen.
Kody's just got to take it one
step too far. He might as well be.
In a Petri dish along with his wives.
We get clips throughout this of Mr. Professor Creeper and he's

(36:15):
speaking directly to the camera and one of these clips he says,
I find that it's dependent on the man whether the family
succeeds or not and many men haven't been able to do it.

(36:35):
He says weird quotes throughout when they're doing these
interview moments that are just dumb and based on his own
opinion, not on fact and not on research.
So where the fuck is the research?
He throws out these weird numbers the entire episode and
and it is so bizarre. Where are they coming from?

(36:59):
Where are they coming from? My overall take away of.
Professor Creepo is that he's very much layering his opinions
and his perspectives on everything.
Even his curiosity about this seems morbid and almost perverse
in the way he discusses it. It's like, what is going on with
you and how is this part? Is this part of your curriculum?
Is this being funded by somebody?
Like, I don't know, I think it's a public school.

(37:22):
This whole thing is weird. I'm just, I don't know, it's
creepy. He's creepy.
The family is sharing their. Concerns with him.
Kody's wearing too small of a shirt, as Chris has pointed out
before in his vest with the open buttons.
They talk about being worried about the criticism and how the

(37:44):
people who have left are the loudest and they're
antagonistic. And it's like, of course, people
that have left polygamy are the people who are the loudest.
Duh. No, I'm choosing to stay here
and I'm repressed. I'm going to be really loud
about it. I mean, it's just bizarre.
I don't even know where he comes up with this shit.
I'm abused and. I needed to leave, and so I am

(38:06):
strong enough to leave. Not that you're not strong if
you don't leave, but I'm one of the people that was able to get
the courage to leave and I'm going to keep my mouth shut.
It takes a certain kind of person to leave, and they're
probably the type of person that's going to say something,
you know, And Mr. Professor says something interesting here.
He says you won't convince those that have left, but you can

(38:28):
convince those that are neutral in the public, which is true,
Professor Creepo. Tells us that polygamy is
intrinsically interesting because it's an alternative to
monogamy, which is a fundamental lifestyle of American culture,
and people are curious about how it works.

(38:50):
Now, once again, I'm like, are you talking about people in
America? Are you talking about yourself
here? I don't know how many people are
really, like dying of curiosity to know about how polygamy
works. I don't know.
I have to tell you something. Interesting about myself right
now. Is it intrinsically?
Interesting. It is OK when I was.
In college studying psychology, my senior thesis was on

(39:15):
monogamy versus consensual non monogamy versus infidelity.
Oh, OK. It was interesting to me.
Because I was studying sexual psychology and how these
scenarios can impact people, and I can understand why he's

(39:36):
interested in it if it is truly from a perspective of studying
mental health, but I don't think it is.
He's a sociology professor, anthropology professor, not even
sociology. Well, I don't know the
difference but. It.

(39:57):
It's it's different, it's different, it's different.
But you know what isn't different?
Your connection to Professor Creepo here.
I'm seeing that maybe you should have been an understudy or
ATA. Who knows what kind of research
you could have found through your own sexual explorations
with Doctor Creepo. I mean, excuse me, Professor

(40:17):
Creepo. I would have been.
Interested. Not with this guy, but with my
other professors at my college that were very smart.
Oh my God, that's amazing. When I met my.
Husband. I wasn't sure if I believed in
monogamy or not, which is part of the reason I find the Browns
so interesting. Not because I would want to have

(40:41):
multiple sister wives, but because I was interested in the
idea of multiple partners. And I believe that we all have
multiple people that we can connect with over our lives.
So yes, I was interested in this.
So I can see. He says that he is interested in
the alternate lifestyle against monogamy, the central

(41:02):
culture of our world, and he wants to know if this is a
viable alternative or not. Oh, and he's talking about it as
if it's a viable alternative. Like, is a pig's heart as viable
as a human heart when we're doing a heart transplant?
No, this isn't the same thing. The way he's speaking about it

(41:24):
is so bizarre. Is this a viable alternative to
monogamy? It's weird and I'm just a slut,
so there's that. No, let me correct that I.
Just wish I was a slut, you know?
I used to be a slut. I used to have fun, now I'm
known you in slutty stage now. I can't even get professor.
Creepo to look at me twice. God, I doubt that.

(41:47):
Christine asks Professor Creepo about when the other panelists
will be arriving. She volunteers that she doesn't
feel safe about doing this withher aunt.
And, you know, she hasn't seen her in 15 years.
Having opposition from her family is hard and challenging,
and so she doesn't really want to share a space with her aunt

(42:08):
or these other panelists before they go on stage.
I find that to be understandable.
Christine lets us know. That she's worried about her
aunt trying to fight her on her beliefs and she says that it's
hurtful. It's hurtful that she is saying
all of these things against polygamy in the sense that she's

(42:29):
not even trying to understand anymore.
I can see that you grow up with this person that perhaps you've
looked up to and all of a sudden their beliefs are
complete 180 from what you know that they were, and it
would be really weird to see from that perspective.
If she still is in contact with her uncle and the other wives,

(42:52):
that might be part of the reasonwhy she's scared Robyn.
Shares some concerns. You know, she's concerned about
being ambushed. Oh God, Robyn, she's so dramatic
sometimes. And it's like, why aren't you
dramatic in ways that we can? Like, you know, we get ambushed
by anti polygamists all the time as she's referencing former
friends and family and I'm going all the time.

(43:14):
She's so dramatic in these stupid ways.
Like I'm just imagining her walking down the aisle at
whatever store she's going to gocollect more things for her
horde and everyone's like, you're a polygamist.
It's just like, no, this can't be true.
It's understandable. I mean, they did live in fear
and in shame for many years. She talks about having to lie.
They all talk about having to lie.
But really, like she's being bombarded with this anti

(43:36):
polygamy rhetoric every day. It's like the bitch probably
doesn't even leave her home. She can't drive, she can't park,
she can't go anywhere. I mean what?
I just don't get it. I'm picturing her walking down.
The cereal aisle and somebody
from another side just clearing out with their arm all the
cereal and poking their head out and going.
You shouldn't be a bug on a strumming brown, just popping

(43:57):
their head out through the cereal I can specifically see.
You doing that? Absolutely shutting your head
out, scaring the shit out of her.
We know that. I do like a scare.
You do like a scare. I like.
To frighten people. I would love to see you
frighten. Robyn that would be good.
I would get charged with. Something I'd probably get
pepper sprayed and charged with assault for real.

(44:20):
Well, and how slow she is. These days you'd probably yell
at her in 20 minutes later she'd go like girl pepper sprayed in
her person. A little slow on the uptake
there, Robyn. Oh boy.
Now what I love about as. The Browns are leaving their
meeting with Professor Creepo. They're, you know, walking away
from the building. Were the cameras outside?

(44:40):
We're getting this exterior shot.
And they're they're zoomed in. They're focused on the family.
And then all of a sudden the camera trails and it focuses off
on Kristen Decker in the background outside walking.
And she's just on the she's on the phone and she sees them and
it's just kind of casually observing with a little look on
her face. And I'm like, oh, it's good that

(45:02):
they didn't see each other. Something bad could have
happened. They're teeing it up.
The rivalry. We hear from Robyn.
Again and she says it makes me angry at the families that are
doing well and not speaking up.
It makes me angry at these anti polygamists for being so closed

(45:23):
minded, so close minded. And I can understand why.
She'd be a little upset with thepolygamists that are having good
lifestyles because they do feel kind of on an island in
their own way. So given Robyn props here, I can
understand why she's upset that other polygamists are not

(45:43):
speaking up at this point in themoment.
I had a. Flashback, A non drug induced
flashback where I remember her saying, I think it was in the
first season, maybe it's the second.
But when they're moving to Vegasand they're packing up the the
shit and she looks terrible and she's got a hat on and they're,
you know, she's probably telling someone to move a box
while she's doing nothing. And she's like, this isn't the

(46:06):
America that I learned about in school.
And, you know, they do this stuff where it's hard to not
have a empathy or an understanding for, you know, an
element of what they're talkingabout.
I don't think it's good to be persecuting people.
And I don't think polygamous should be persecuted just on the
basis that they're polygamous.So it's it's tricky to navigate

(46:30):
that. Like, I certainly don't want to
be backing up Robyn, No. We can understand where she's
coming from. We don't have to like her.
He can understand where she's coming from, that's what.
Empathetic. People, we're empaths,
Christopher, I need to start saying that.

(46:53):
More I'm so I'm an empath. That's the worst person ever,
Yeah. Like, Oh my God, Kristen Decker
says. If they say they're OK, I'd have
to question that. She references how their family
is not the norm for polygamy. Obviously the Browns are not the

(47:13):
usual for polygamy is kind of her talking point.
I shouldn't say obviously as if it's obvious, but that is her
default in many of these discussions and conversations.
The Browns are not the norm. We get more from.
Christine. And she says that she feels
betrayed by how she's going against it so hard, this aunt of

(47:35):
hers and saying it's inherently wrong.
I can understand that as well. This person you grew up with
your entire life all of a suddencomplete 18033 years in this
with your aunt. Yeah.
And record scratch. I saw the sign.

(47:58):
Yeah. Well, Kristen?
Decker did see that sign. Don't, don't.
It's the day of the debate. Meri thinks that everyone is
being so silly, getting this riled up.
Meri's not nervous at all. No.
Well, Christina? 'S nervous, but Meri?

(48:18):
Easy as pie, she's got nothing to worry about.
Meri's been in all sorts of confrontations and combative
situations. She creates them every day so
she doesn't ever care. In the world, she's had to clean
many a. Sink out because of these
confrontations. She knows how it goes.
Robyn's stomach. Is in knots.

(48:40):
She's just so worked up now whenwe're getting these moments from
the wives, these little brief things.
We cut to Janelle doing her hairin her bathroom and there's no
sound bite from her, which I thought was funny.
We do hear from her in like a minute, but I was just laughing
to myself and my mind going, ofcourse we hear from the three
wives and then Janelle gets an opportunity and we get nothing.

(49:01):
But I was jumping to
conclusions. How unfair of me.
We see Janelle and. Kody in her giant ass new
bathroom. It's so huge.
It's huge. They could have used some of
that for closet space but that's just coming from a clothes
hoarder. Kody is getting dressed at
Janelle's and he is so worried about the color of his shirt and

(49:25):
Janelle says that she is not the fashion one in the family and
that he needs to go and ask Robyn about that.
And we see Kody buttoning and unbuttoning and buttoning over
his belly, the shirt again and again, just being vain as fuck,
not understanding what looks best on him.
And Janelle's like would you please just go to Robyn's?

(49:46):
Bitch? I'm trying to curl my hair.
Get out of here. I feel like he even said to her.
Something like you look at my face and then the shirt and the
jacket like as if to direct her like does this look good or
not? And she's already volunteered
that she does not know and she'snot the wife to ask.
Then he walks off and says. Something about needing his hair
product in the background, we kind of get a blur of him saying

(50:10):
something about this hair product and he does leave.
He does leave while he was. Leaving, I noticed that his hair
is looking thinner than ever. Truly, you know, we're, we're
trying not to pick on him for the balding apparently, but I'm
sliding into depravity and justgoing to say that hair is a
mess. This entire episode was a mess,

(50:30):
but now I guess maybe it's thathis length is getting long
enough or maybe it clumps together a bit or something.
It looked a little greasy. We get a shot of him from the
top front area. We see the clumping to the sides
and part almost down the middle.
It reminds me of the 90s hairstyle girls used to wear

(50:52):
where they would pull out two thin strands on the front of
their ponytail or something. It looks weird and it's bald
behind the two strands hanging down.
So he's fighting the good fight, he's fighting the good fight
here, and we're seeing that fight.
More and more and more. I mean, this is the first point,

(51:14):
I think, in the show where I have maybe even found myself
distracted by it. It was a lot.
This episode, it was. I haven't.
Noticed it that much, which is why I was a little hard on
Kennedy in the hair episode. I think it's rude to point out
to your client repeatedly during a haircut if they're not
asking for it. Obviously that was teed up for

(51:36):
the show. However, this clip is awkward of
the hair. Yeah.
Kody tells us in a voiceover while he's leaving that his
wives are making their choices and his kids are happy.
So he's basically teeing up. You know, I don't have anything
to be worried about with this discussion, this panel, because

(51:57):
my wives are making their choices and my kids are happy.
So what's there to do? And Janelle references how Kody
gets the most heat in these situations because people think
he's manipulating the women. And so she kind of, I don't
remember if she was saying, you know, I default to him because
he doesn't seem to be nervous. But she said that she's nervous.

(52:17):
She's feeling it. She said that she doesn't think.
That Kody is nervous because he's used to getting the heat
because the man in the situation is usually the one that's
blamed and called the misogynistand gets called out and has to
deflect. So she doesn't think that Kody's
nervous. Fair enough.
After we get these updates. From the wives and Kody about

(52:38):
how they're feeling feelings, we cut back over to our anti
plague group, the people that are here to shame and shun the
Brown family publicly. And we're introduced to someone
that you were talking about at the end of our last episode
because they were showing her in the coming up ONS and someone
who may or may not have been in everyone's lives recently.

(53:01):
We're going to hear from Christine.
Marie, I think a lot of you might have seen her recent
documentary on Netflix called Trust Me, the False Prophet, and
she's going to tell us a bit of her story.
This is recorded before she even started the documentary False

(53:22):
Prophet. So she has been fighting the
good fight for a long time here, and she is from the mainstream
Mormon church. But she was led astray by a man
who was a self-proclaimed prophet.

(53:42):
I can identify. I've tried to proclaim myself as
a prophet on this very show. Well.
This proclaimed. Prophet convinced her that
polygamy was a lifestyle that was necessary for her based on
the religion and nine months into it a fellow believer
confessed to her that the guy was a false prophet.

(54:05):
Her sister wife was a fake non believer and none of the people
in the group were believers. Yes, this fellow believer.
Confessed to her that the prophet was a con artist she
said con artist and I really was like wow con artist that would
be quite traumatic to hear about your husband of nine months

(54:26):
that they're a con artist oops the sad part about.
This is that he convinced her to go against her beliefs.
She wasn't even a part of this.
She was LED astray as she says. And she is the sweetest woman.

(54:48):
You can tell she's very sweet. She looks like a literal Barbie.
She's wearing a fake white
blonde ponytail, pink eyeshadow, a pink outfit.
She takes the other anti polygamists into her home and
she's letting him try on her clothes and her place looks very

(55:08):
eclectic and awe God she has the mind of a child.
I would say yes, I we don't. Like to use the word sweet but
in this case I would say she has a sweet disposition.
She seems she is soft spoken as you said and just the aura.
Her aura comes across as very well, meaning you can tell she's

(55:29):
very. Well meaning.
After Christine Marie gives us this brief background about
herself, we cut to Willie and Kollene sitting on the couch at
her place. Do you think we're still at her
place? Not sure it matters, but they're
sitting on the couch talking about what their experiences
have led them to. And Willie says that he's found

(55:52):
himself breaking himself into more than one person to
basically compartmentalize his experiences.
And while he's saying this, Kollene says that she has four
people inside of her, and he volunteers that he also has four
people. And of course, I'm going well,
holy trauma response disassociating it's.

(56:15):
It's crazy. I mean, it shouldn't say crazy
in a negative way, but to jump from, I think I have more than
one person. I try to, you know, whatever.
And then she says I have 4:00 and he says I have 4:00.
It's like 4 people. I mean, how literal do you take
this as a personality divide? Do you think they really feel
like they're four ways of coping inside of them?

(56:36):
I think Kollene. Truly means that she has four
personalities where she dissociates.
I think the first personality is the Kingston cult personality.
The second one is the complete anti personality where she's
fighting against the man and everyone else.
The third one is the one that's trying to blend in that we met

(57:00):
when she met the Browns where she kind of placated to them.
She came in a little rough and ended up placating to them.
And I don't know who the 4th 1 is, right?
But I I have seen in watching this at least three of those
personalities. Yeah, that makes sense.
It's a self preservation. Tactic and I can completely

(57:23):
understand why and how that happened to them.
It was a little. Jarring to me to hear that they
both identified with having four different personalities or
personas they were joking about.
It being a little nonchalant about it.
And then Kollene leads into the next thing she's going to say,
which is very problematic and also a little glossed over and

(57:48):
weird. Kollene says, and I'm assuming
this is prefaced by a question by the producers.
Somebody asked a question or there was a conversation already
happening and we cut in on theconversation cause Kollene is
saying that the whole point of marriage is splitting up the

(58:12):
girls. They split up the girls for
marriage so that they can move the bloodlines around.
Her group is based off of incestand I read a book from an FLDS
member where there is a lot of talk about children being born

(58:34):
with disabilities, specifically life threatening disabilities.
I'm not going to get into the nitty gritty of it here because
I don't want to have any ableist talk.
This is a problem. It's really sad, it's
disturbing, and they gloss over it.

(58:58):
I'm a little perturbed by the fact that the show doesn't have
the hotline number at the bottom.
Oh, at the end of the episode. Usually they do.
Something the other shows would. They didn't even insert it
after. The fact this is years after
this is aired, yeah, We're watching it on Discovery Plus
and they haven't added that. Yeah, that's odd to me.

(59:22):
We'll put it in the show notes. Yeah.
Because. This is super.
Disturbing, and if anyone in your life, a family member or
anybody is grooming you, you wouldn't know.
But just know that nobody shouldever, ever tell you that you

(59:44):
have to do something. If you feel icky at any time in
your life about anything, anybody that you're with, try to
eject yourself from the situation.
Fuck politeness. You come first, that's all that
matters. They gloss over this.
They talk about the splitting oftheir personalities, they're
obviously traumatized, and now they're talking about incest and

(01:00:07):
we move on so quickly from it.I was thrown.
That was a strange juxtaposition, The.
Subject matter and then how it was just kind of bullet point,
bullet point. And now we're going to move on
to more of Kollene's story whereshe says she was married to her
second cousin. And they said it was OK to her

(01:00:29):
because it wasn't her first cousin.
So of course, it's all right. He's your second cousin.
It's not your first cousin. We're breaking up those
bloodlines here, avoiding the incest as much as we can.
She even shares an example abouthow one of her sisters married a
brother, but the brother was from another mother recently.
Yeah, so. Basically one of her.

(01:00:51):
Sisters married 1/2 Brother right?
Same dad. Oh God.
And this. Leads to them wrapping it up by
saying how they hope that speaking out that they're doing
it in hopes of helping others in the situation.
But overall, this little segment, this little bit is
rather quick and moved over. It's almost like we're getting

(01:01:12):
the updates from when they were talking about the stats of their
family, right? Like I've this many brothers,
this many sisters. We try to avoid incest issues by
splitting up the bloodlines. My sister married her half
brother. I was married to my second
cousin. And then it's like, OK, moving
on. I want to suggest the book that
I read. Because it was so insightful, I
listened to the audio book after you suggested.

(01:01:33):
It and it is absolutely worth the listening.
It's really good. It's called Church of.
Lies by Flora Jessup and Paul T Brown and read it if you're
interested. Listen to the audio book.
The audio book is so good. That's actually what I did.
I love to read. I'm a big reader but I listen to
the audio book on this. Totally worth the listen,

(01:01:55):
especially when we're watching this show that's so light
hearted about really heavy topics.
Yeah, because. We are, obviously.
A comedy podcast, you know, we like to keep it light, but some
of these topics are honestly disturbing.
So we have to point out when they are, we can't just graze

(01:02:19):
over it like they do in the fucking TV show.
So Kollene married her second cousin.
One of her sisters married a brother from a different mother
recently and they are coming out to speak about it because
obviously they want to help other people.
And then we're going to go back to the Brown family cul-de-sac

(01:02:42):
after all of that drama rolling up in our Flintstone car, that
broken, beat down Flintstone car.
And as the Browns are leaving for the panel, Kody acknowledges
there are bad things that havehappened to people in their
culture and they just want to share their experience of the

(01:03:03):
good. The Brown family's opposition in
this panel will not validate the Brown family's good
experiences or the other good experiences from their culture.
Culture, right?
And when I say. Culture.
I mean to emphasize the cult in culture.
Hot off the heels of hearing these terrible examples, right

(01:03:25):
now, it's like, you know, Kody's just got to live in denial a
little bit about it because their family's great, their
family's fine. They think that the stereotypes.
That are being spewed by the FLDS.
Thing that happened. The thing that happened.
Let's gloss over all of that Warren Jeffs shit and the
culture is being affected by that and other people have had

(01:03:48):
good experiences and why can't people see that yes Oh my God
well, the stereotypes of polygamy, you know the.
Controlling men, the weak wives, all these other things, they
are just stereotypes and that's not what the Brown family
experiences. Robyn looks at Kody.
They're in the foyer at this point of one of the homes in the

(01:04:11):
cul-de-sac. They're in the foyer and Robyn
looks like she's reading off of her phone, which is weird.
She has her phone up and she goes, What if they say you're a
misogynist pig, Kody? Kody says.
I could agree with them, and although otherwise they're like,

(01:04:31):
laughing or saying, oh, don't do that or making a joke out of
it. But how many times have we heard
Kody say the little real words, misogynist pig on this
show? Yeah, yeah, Robyn says.
Whatever, as Janelle is chuckling at the entire thing.
OK, once again, the splicing is a little weird.

(01:04:53):
I, I don't really blame them for this lighthearted vibed
conversation as they're getting ready to leave, you know, I'm
sure they're trying to, you know, keep their spirits up and
be like, hey, we're not nervous, everything's fine.
It's just that the subject matter is so cringe in
comparison to what we were just talking about.
It's gross. Christine gives us.

(01:05:13):
Another blurb that's. Serious, Christine says most of
what you see talked about makes people angry.
And it makes me angry. The media shows abuse and the
rape of young girls. That's not polygamy.
But people will lump it all together because they just don't
know. Yeah, because the majority of

(01:05:37):
the situations that we have found out about and seen are
that and we have only seen you guys and the Dargers come
forward at this point, right? So, yeah, that's what people
have seen. Yeah.
Other people just don't know about what happens.
In families like the Browns, like their family?

(01:05:58):
Yeah, absolutely. We don't.
Where are they? And you know, Robyn did
reference earlier some frustration with other people
not coming forward. Are these people real?
Are they imaginary? I'm not sure we'll hear a little
bit more about that from Professor Creepo about how what
makes a successful polygamist family, which love to hear this

(01:06:18):
backed by data information from the professor he made-up based
on his. Observations the professor.
Don't don't one. Hour before the debate.
Everyone's arriving at the panel and of course, Christine asked
if they could be kept in separate spaces before the panel

(01:06:40):
starts. It's like, yes, we know that you
want to be in separate spaces. We get it.
Christine does not feel safe being in A room.
With them. And she's not ready to see her
aunt yet. Her mom's sister.
Mama's. Sister I.
Don't want to see my mama's sister.
I'm just not ready yet. I don't know how I'm going to
talk to her. Oh, Lord.
And Robyn. Oh God.

(01:07:02):
And Robyn has to. Drop that, Habsburg.
Jaw down and say we've been dealing with the anti polygamist
hate our whole lives and then she reconnects the Habsburg.
Jaw shoves it, backs it. Up off the floor, Oh my God.
As the Browns are getting settled into their little

(01:07:23):
holding space, their office behind this auditorium where
they're eventually going to end up, we see Kollene and Kristen
walking on by. Oh, there they are, these evil
anti polygamist and they're on their way to the bathroom at the
end of the hallway. And you know, I was a little
distracted by what Kollene was wearing.
So honey, you're going to have to give us a breakdown on this

(01:07:43):
outfit. But before we do that, it's
important to know that Christine Brown is in the restroom at
the end of the hallway. So while Kollene and Kristen are
just meandering down the hall as carefree as ever, just walking
down to use the restroom, they get to the end and it's Dun,
Dun, Dun. Christine Brown is in the

(01:08:03):
bathroom. And this is when you said
something about, oh, Kollene. And I said, did she wave at
them? Did she make a face?
And you were like, no, look at what she's wearing.
Oh. Yeah, I died and went to emo
heaven and then the emo hell. Kollene is wearing black
jeggings, a hot pink cold shoulder top, a big poof on the

(01:08:29):
top of her head. I do not believe that she was
wearing a bump it because I think her hair is fried enough
that she could tease it enough to look like a bump it.
Yes, and. Yes, she has.
Thick black eyeliner, huge pink eyeshadow like 2010 style.
Makeup artist from the YouTube walked her through a tutorial on

(01:08:51):
how to do this. But the kicker?
Black fingerless gloves. Oh, and those black fingerless
gloves. Tie in really great to the giant
crucifix hanging around her neck and I was going holy Madonna
wannabes. I was so excited about the
Madonna vibes, but it was tied in with that emo.

(01:09:12):
I don't give a fuck to 1 E 10 vibes.
It was very bright. It was very dramatic.
Kollene did look like she was going on set to a music video.
She did not look like she was going to a panel to discuss
polygamy. Bless her.
Bless her. You know she should express
herself however she wants. Express your whole self hey.

(01:09:34):
Hey, but it really. Was a dramatic look and I don't
know, I didn't hate it. I mean, I did hate it.
I don't know. It was.
It was something. To be honest, I hated it for the
scenario. Yeah, it was more going out
having a good time vibe if she wanted to be taken seriously.
Yeah, at this time, unfortunately, people are

(01:09:59):
predisposed to look at that and not take you seriously.
So I wish that she would have dressed differently.
I wish that Kristen or Christine Marie would have told her,
honey, we love you so much. We love that you're an
individual. But let's tone it down a bit,
because Christine Marie has a really weird sense of style

(01:10:21):
herself, but it still reads as professional.
Yeah, because at the panel I noted she was even wearing.
Pearl earrings. She tightened up a bit for the
panel and that could have served Kollene pretty well.
It could have and I am starting.
To really like Kollene at this point, and not that I didn't
before, but I have an appreciation for her and I do

(01:10:45):
think she's gorgeous. She really is, and she's an
amazing makeup artist for herself.
I'm very curious if she ever didanything with that
professionally because she was good at it.
We get a clip now of Christine talking, and Christine says that
she was in the bathroom and she heard her aunt laughing in

(01:11:08):
the hall. Not that she was laughing at
her. She was obviously laughing with
somebody, but she was scared toleave the stall.
Yeah. And I'm wondering if she texted
or called one of her sister wives, because all of a sudden
Meri and Robyn pop up and scurryover to the bathroom to escort
her out, to usher her out of thebathroom, one in front, one in

(01:11:32):
the back, protecting Christine like the valuable prize that she
is, the fairy that she is. They said that they heard down
the hall. The talking and they heard it,
and so they looked out and. Knew Christine Christine was in
the. Bathroom and went to save her.
OK, OK. When getting some footage of

(01:11:53):
Kristen after they usher Christine out of the bathroom,
she's like, what was that about the situation?
And it just felt like middle school vibes.
It felt very oh, did she? She said it feels.
Very high school. This is weird because they were
literally just waiting for her to leave the bathroom to give
her space and respect. It wasn't a good look for

(01:12:13):
Christine, I don't think. I don't think so either.
Yeah, hard to say. What I do in that situation?
Oh, I'd probably just walk into the bathroom with my head held
high and be like I'm better thanyou, but that's just me.
Maybe wave on your way out? I think that Kristen and Kollene
were doing the big girl thing by waiting out there and giving
her space. Kristen could have gone in and

(01:12:34):
use the other stall, but she didn't because she knew
Christine didn't want to see heryet.
So they waited out there, but itwasn't that they were being
silent to ambush her that way. Can you imagine if Christine
would have walked out and they'dhave been quiet the whole time
and they'd have just been standing there, Kristen and
Kollene in the corner, standing there.
That would have been worse. It would have been startling.
Yeah, I think either way. There was no winning.

(01:12:57):
And maybe production set it up that way.
Maybe production told Kristen, Oh yeah, the bathroom's empty,
go in there and then she saw herwalking in, or there was some
sort of setup here and it wasn'tplayed out well in any scenario
when Christine returns to the holding.
Office with Robyn and Meri. She turns to Kody and starts

(01:13:22):
crying in his shoulder. And holding him for your life,
Yeah. She's being comforted as.
If the worst thing has ever happened to her and I don't, I
just, I don't know, chalk it up to Christine's maturity I guess.
I don't really know.
After this moment, the family makes a prayer circle and they

(01:13:42):
start praying as they show us footage of everyone entering for
the forum. So we're going to be walking
into where this panel is happening and as they're showing
the anti polygamous and the Brown family walking in, we get
this prayer happening as audio over and I couldn't even really
make it out because it was muffled because they were in
this prayer circle. So I feel like they were going

(01:14:05):
for a dramatic effect and it didn't really land.
They muffled half of it. They let.
Us hear some of it. It was background noise to the
scene that we were being shown of the auditorium and there's
two cameras at the back of the auditorium.
It's not even an auditorium, it's a tiny lecture hall.

(01:14:29):
To be fair, I felt a bit dramatic.
Calling it an auditorium. It's a lecture hall.
It's a lecture hall. OK.
Yeah, like a big. Classroom.
Almost. Like this professor told his.
Students, they would get extra credit if they came to this
motherfucking thing. Oh well, don't you think?
Well, it wasn't even full, so I don't know.
Right, That's why I think that.

(01:14:51):
Professor Creepo said. I'll give you extra credit if
you come to see the IT was weird.
Not a packed house and not a bighouse.
So yeah, it was a bit underwhelming as they're walking
into this large classroom slash lecture hall slash mini
tiny auditorium as if they're at the school of models for the

(01:15:14):
tiny people. And how do you fit into the
building? Janelle talks about feeling like
she's walking to her execution.
Don't, don't. Very dramatic.
So now this feels. Like a good place for us to
take. A break because we've already
been talking about this for a hot minute and maybe this is an

(01:15:34):
opportunity for us to drop a special Part 2 on a Thursday.
I feel like people like it. I feel like I like it.
I feel like I get some tingles inside my body when a episode
drops on a Thursday. Special notification.
Ding Ding. We're going to take a brief one
day bathroom. Break and then we'll be back to
see you on Thursday. I hope that you dream about this

(01:15:56):
panel. Discussion and maybe it'll be a
nightmare.
