Welcome to another episode of No Fixed Agenda! This week, we dive deep into a topic that hits home for entrepreneurs, coaches, and anyone grinding in the service industry: burnout.

In this episode:

  • We open up about our own experiences with burnout—how it sneaks up, what it feels like, and how it’s changed as we’ve shifted roles from coach to entrepreneur.
  • The conversation covers the unique pressures of being a coach, business owner, and leader, and how wearing multiple hats can make it hard to truly disconnect.
  • We talk about the importance of setting boundaries—not just with clients and staff, but with ourselves and our own ideas.
  • Personal stories: hospital visits from overwork, the struggle to “turn off” even on vacation, and the guilt that comes with downtime.
  • Strategies for recharging: travel, quiet time, and learning to say no.
  • The challenge of social media and content creation burnout, and why it’s so much easier to burn out on things you don’t love.
  • The ongoing search for balance, and the realization that sometimes, “enough” is hard to define.

Key Takeaways:

  • Burnout is real and often goes unspoken, especially in service-based businesses.
  • Setting boundaries is essential for long-term health and effectiveness.
  • It’s okay to not always be “on”—sometimes, the best thing you can do is step back and recharge.
  • Defining what “enough” means for you and your business can help prevent future burnout.

We’re always looking for new ideas (as long as it doesn’t involve waking up at 4am for a two-hour morning routine!).

Thanks for listening, and remember: sometimes, the best way to show up for others is to take care of yourself first.
