Yes, we thank our donors (and quickly!) but what happens next? Stewardship, one of the oldest concepts in philanthropy, is also the most neglected. Why we neglect it is complicated: too little time, limited resources, stretched staff -- all excuses that in fact are not donor-focused which is what we simply must be.
