Ameé is not Mother of The Year. Nor is she is a parenting expert with degrees in child psychology. Ameé, in fact, failed at being a mother. <p>Her path to parenthood started with genuine intention and optimism. But unable to understand and manage her inner battles, her marriage ended and she left her husband of ten years as the custodial parent of their two small children. <p>For nearly seven years, Ameé was the "Weekend Mom" until circumstances changed and a wiser, willing Ameé was reunited with her kids and became a full-time single parent. In this episode, Ameé interviews Dr. Brad Klontz and pulls back the curtain on her own financial past and starts to remove the stigma and shame of talking about money problems and the Big Lie about why even "smart" people do "dumb" things when it comes to their personal finances. 

Bradley T. Klontz, Psy.D., CFP® is a Founder of the Financial Psychology Institute® and an Associate Professor of Practice in Financial Psychology at Creighton University Heider College of Business. He is a Managing Principal of Your Mental Wealth® Advisors, a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, and a Former President of the Hawaii Psychological Association. 

He has partnered with organizations including JP Morgan Chase and H&R Block in efforts to help raise public awareness around issues related to financial health and financial psychology.

Dr. Klontz has been a columnist for the Journal of Financial Planning, On Wall Street, and PsychologyToday.com and has co-authored/co-edited five books on the psychology of money including “Mind over Money.” 

His work has been featured on ABC News’ 20/20, Good Morning America, and in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Time, Kiplinger’s, Money Magazine, NPR and many other media outlets and professional magazines and journals.
