And now this week's episode.
When it comes to whether you should have a newsletter for your podcast, for me,
the simple answer is yes. Now, in fairness, if you're already doing social media and seeingsuccess

(00:32):
with that, or you have a private group community, then adding a newsletter to that might dilute
your time and that's possibly an area where you say, "No I don't need a newsletter", but otherwise
yes I would always recommend a newsletter and here's two key reasons for that. One is ownership
and two is intimacy. Now when I say ownership I don't mean own your listeners, that'd be a horrible

(00:53):
way to think about your audience. Instead, I mean you have more ownership over how your listeners
receive content from you. While social media platforms can come and go, and podcast apps can
disappear, being in someone's inbox is almost a definite guarantee you'll remain there, even if
you have to change email platforms now and again. Then there's the intimacy. Much like your listeners

(01:14):
and followers have allowed your show into their ears, it's the same when it comes to allowing your
words into their highly protected and valuable email inbox. That makes your relationship immediately
warmer than social media platforms and with better potential for longer lasting and valued
two-way communication. This can then lead to revenue for you and increased connection and
value for your newsletter subscribers. So it's a two-way street. It's super easy too, with tools

(01:38):
like Substack that I use, Beehiiv, and more. And I'll leave links to these in the show notes so
be sure to check them wherever you're listening to this episode. Until the next time, happy podcasting.
Thanks for listening. If you enjoy One Minute Podcast Tips, be sure to share with
