Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Kate Torba, I'm Amy, and I'm Sophie Torber And coming
up on today's show as she Binds and Sam Buggenheimer
face backlash after confirming they're on peptides, and self proclaimed
number one tennis wag Morgan Riddle confirms split with her

(00:26):
tennis player boyfriend. But first, Sammy Robinson has a new
boyfriend and you might know him.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
She's been dropping a lot of clues about her new
relationship on Instagram the last couple of weeks. So two
weeks ago, she shared a photo of her new man
kissing her cheek as they sunbaked outside, and this week
she shared a photo dump entitled there's an Easter egg
in this post, and there certainly work quite a few
Easter eggs. So in one photo you can see her

(00:54):
new bo's chin stubble while they play Uno, and then
in another photo he's sitting on Sammy's bed with a
red light mask covering his face. Then there's a photo
of Sammy wearing a T shirt with the slogan I
love my Hot boyfriend. It's all about the slogan T
shirts at the moment. We are going to be getting
into that in the Morgan renal topic. So who is
this new guy, Kate? I need to know if he's

(01:15):
good enough for my Sammy Robinson. Well, his name is
Kai Thomas and he's actually the real estate agent that
sold Sammy's apartment in the middle of last year. He's
not your regular real estate agent though, so he is
an associate director at the Rubinstein Group and he stars
in reality show Lux Listings. I love Lux Listings. I'm
going to have to go back and watch this series

(01:36):
just to see if he is good enough for Sammy.
I really want to rewatch it too. Of course, he
is loaded, so he is reportedly a multi millionaire and
command's a median house price sale of just under nine
million dollars, so you can imagine the commission. He's also
got eleven thousand followers on Instagram and he posts some
pretty out there real estate videos, which is exactly what

(01:59):
we said Sammy need in our influencer predictions. I think
it was two years ago now we were hoping that
she would date someone with these vibes. So I think
this could be endgame for her. I think she had
to switch things up because her last three boyfriends have
been rugby players, very similar vibes. It's kind of reminding
me of her OGI boyfriend, Nick Wheatley, who he was

(02:19):
a bit of a corporate guy. He had a bit
of mister big vibes to him as well. Was he
a real estate agent as well? That's what I was
just going to say. It was a light bulb moment.
I'm pretty sure he was a real estate agent or
is a real estate agent. What is quite juicy about
this relationship is that Sammy appeared alongside Kai in a
video promoting the sale of her apartment that was shared
on Instagram, and they were quite flirtatious in the video.

(02:41):
Let's take a listen, so use.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Code Sammy twenty for twenty percent.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Okay, okay, that's enough.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Three or forty two Fairfax Road, Bell w Hill, Come
and take a look.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
The flirty vibes didn't stop there, so Sammy wrote under
the video, I got this one, Kai, don't worry about it,
to which Kai replied with three lightning bolt emojis. Gavin Rubinstein,
who is one of the stars of Lux Listings, also commented,
Sammy Robinson, you killed this. I mean the fact that
she even agreed to do it shows that she had
interest there. Why do I really want to see Gavin

(03:16):
and Sammy Robinson standing next to each other because Gavin
is on the shorter side, Sammy is obviously a very
tall girl. Well, in that photo dump she posted, she
was at an influencer event and there were these three
influencers standing talking to her, and they were all like
craning their heads up to look at her. It was
quite comical. What I want to know is when did
Sammy and Kai actually get together, because what's interesting is

(03:38):
they actually knew each other when Sammy was still with
her then boyfriend Sean Stevenson. So, as you mentioned, Sean
was a rugby player and they were doing long distance
because he plays rugby in New Zealand. And In a
recent interview in March, Sammy said that she and her
boyfriend Sean had broken up about six months ago, which
makes it roughly around September October, and that lines up

(04:00):
with when Shawn dropped off from Sammy's TikTok content. But
she was in this video months earlier in July, and
I was getting the vibe that she was into him,
then maybe this just started off as a bit of
a crush. She started liking his posts in December, so
I mean that seems above board. I mean, I'm not
suggesting that there was anything untoward going on, but there
are instances where you might be in an unhappy relationship

(04:23):
and it's not until you meet someone that suits you better,
that you vibe with that you realize, oh, hang on,
this isn't actually working out. I wonder if that was
the case for Sammy. I love the fact that they
met in real life because it seems like Sammy has
met a lot of her previous boyfriends on dating apps,
and you don't really hear of many real life encounters
now that work out like this. Just seems old school,

(04:45):
and I actually think that that's where you build up
this natural chemistry. You start actually having a real life
crush on someone, you get excited to see them. I
think it's endgame because I can just imagine Sammy's wedding speeches.
They actually met when Kai was selling her apartment. I'm
also interested to know if he's been helping her with
her one Mile storefront, because she recently told the media

(05:08):
that she's hoping to expand from two stores to four,
so I mean she's in perfect company.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Someone tell me the difference between getting online and saying
I like to take illicit substances on the weekend, and
getting online and saying I like to take peptides Because
I'm sorry. They're both illegal, they're both not FDA approved,
they're both like acquired through some shady means.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
No, you're not imagining it. Australian influencers are shrinking before
your very eyes. And there's a reason. Peptides the latest
wellness trend is sweeping social media and causing alarm for
very valid reasons. This week, two prominent Aussie influencers face
backlash after confirming they're on peptides. Kay, this term seems

(05:54):
to be everywhere at the moment, so much so that
it is creating a bit of confusion online. Yeah, I've
I'm seeing this word peptide used in a lot of
different scenarios. So you've got people slamming influences for promoting them,
and then you've got skin care brands promoting the fact
that the product features peptides, and I'm like, hang on,
isn't that illegal? So for listeners, like me who are

(06:16):
just as confused. Let's run through what exactly peptides are.
So they are short chains of amino acids, basically the
building blocks of proteins that signal your body to do
specific things, so things like boost collagen in skin or
support muscle growth, which is why they're often used in
supplements and skin care. Now, there are peptides that are
fully legal and regulated. These are the ones used in

(06:39):
mild forms in skin care. You've also got peptide based
medicines approved by the TGA that can be prescribed by
a doctor, like a zenpic and insulin. Then there are
the unregulated peptides that are not approved for human use,
and these are much more intense and often injected. So
a lot of the unregulated peptides we're seeing on social

(07:00):
media are the ones that enhance your appearance, so some
of them help you lose weight or build muscle quickly,
or make your skin glow. And what is really disturbing
about this trend is despite being unregulated, they're quite easy
to buy online. The scariest bit is people are ignoring
the warning, so some websites even use a disclaimer stating

(07:22):
that peptides are for laboratory use only and not for
human or veterinarian consumption. Yet people are still using them.
It's really frightening. I mean, peptides have been around for
years now, but they're very much back in the zeitgeist
because of TikTok. There are a lot of content creators
spooking their benefits, which has led people to debate which
influences are on them. I mean, as She Binds has

(07:44):
taken out the guestwork for her followers, she's been very
loud and proud about using peptides. In a recent Q
and A, she confirmed she was taking three peptides to
help with wound healing and pain, as well as skin, hair,
and nails. She also spoke in length about her peptide
use during a recent episode of her podcast. This podcast

(08:04):
was such a hard listen. I actually found myself yelling
things back at it while they were talking. I was
just so frustrating as she was raving about how incredible
peptides are, and then she claimed that they were very
regulated in America, but not many people are talking about
them here. That is not true. They are not regulated
in America. It is just bringing me back to the

(08:24):
early twenty tens when we had a bunch of influences
spreading medical misinformation. It's completely reminiscent of this time, but
even scarier because people are just really nearly injecting these
things into their body that are actually not suitable for
human consumption. I really think in the past ten years
we've normalized cosmetic procedures and this pursuit of perfection. When

(08:45):
it comes to our appearance, everyone is so scared of
getting old, like that's the worst thing in the world
to do, and to show your age. I mean we're
always seeing tiktoks, so people are saying, oh, millennials look
so young. They look younger than jen zet Is. Like,
it's because everyone's going to these absolute extremes to stay young.
They're putting all of this money on the table. They'll
go to any length in order to not look old.

(09:08):
And this is just another step and another crazy thing
people are doing. And the scariest thing is that we've
got wellness influencers like Ash Binds telling us that this
is a completely healthy and normal thing to do. So
people are like, oh, this is just like chucking a
supplement into my smoothie. The ironic thing with Ash binns Is.
She claimed that she was using peptides to help reduce

(09:29):
inflammation for these upcoming elective surgeries that she had. What
really frustrated me is she then proceeded to list the
four peptides that she is using. So she injects these
daily and she said, oh, yes, it's to help inflammation,
muscle recovery, and anti aging. It then got even worse.
Ash and Tiana then explained that they managed to source

(09:52):
the peptides through this guy they were following on TikTok
who shares his peptide journey Soudgit. Yes, so they claim
that this guy put them onto his quote doctor who
prescribed them several peptides. Please note I use the term
prescribed and doctor very loosely because I just think this

(10:12):
man was probably wearing a white coat when he spoke
to them. I think that was the length of his qualifications.
And then, in order to absolve themselves of any wrongdoing,
they quickly added this disclaimer that they weren't giving medical
advice or recommending anything. They then said this.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
What peptides can do are freaking incredible. It's amazing, Like
literally everything that you would want to improve, there is
a peptide for it now before anyone comes and asks
us who were going to where we're getting them from?
How much? Like we don't want to answer that, And
I'm so glad we haven't because we're already not super
happy with who we're going with. We think he might
be kind of overcharging us and maybe overdosing us potentially potentially.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
This is actually insane, Like I can't believe that this
aired on their podcast. I feel so uncomfortable listening to this.
How can you be so ignorant that you are promoting
the fact that you're using peptides but then say, oh, actually,
this guy that we found on TikTok's actually giving us
too much. He's overdosing us, and also he's charging us
too much. Sorry by you mentioning it, you're recommending it.

(11:13):
You're a wellness influencer. Don't fucking tell people to do it.
If you think that this is incorrect, that you know
that you're having these side effects because of it, also,
v you would not believe what else they shared. So
after introducing this peptide topic on their podcast and raving
about how great peptides are, they then went on to
list all the awful side effects that they've been experiencing.

(11:35):
So ash explained that every time she injects herself with peptides,
she gets a lump in the injection point that turns
red and itchy. She said she's also started feeling anxious
after years and years of never feeling anxious. But as
long as you look hot and young, it doesn't matter,
does it. Yeah? And then Tiana said that her eyes
won't stop running, and at one point she had racing

(11:55):
heart palpitations and a rash on her face. They also
complained about how expensive these peptides are and that they've
been told that the doctor's ripping them off. I'm sorry,
but are these not alarm bells that maybe you shouldn't
be on it and you shouldn't be promoting it to
your audience. I mean, do they think that because they're
being open about the terrible side effects that they've experienced,
that somehow makes it better to be fair to Ashley

(12:18):
and Tiana? At least they included the bad side of things,
like it would have been worse if they didn't mention
any of these side effects. Yeah. I get that, But
then at the same time, if you're a young girl
listening to this potentially with low self esteem. You're being
bullied over your weight, you might think to yourself, well,
I could put up with heart palpitations and you know,
a bit of a sore injection spot if I can

(12:39):
be thin. That is true. I mean, I'm not supporting
what they've done in this podcast by any means, but
I am appreciative that they actually included the negative side
of things. I nearly choked when I heard this next bit.
So after detailing all of the side effects that they
had experience, they also divulged that this apparent doctor had
prescribed them a quote very controversial drug that they were

(13:03):
yet to take.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Now.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
The drug in question is a prescription medication used to
treat type two diabetes, and the reason people without type
two diabetes are using it is to suppress their appetite.
So ashally claimed that it wasn't to suppress their appetite.
It was because her doctor apparently said that if she
did a microdose of it, it would help with inflammation,

(13:27):
so she wouldn't lose weight. They then said that they
haven't used it despite actually paying for it. It's sitting
in their fridge, but they said it just didn't feel right.
It felt more like a medical drug than a peptide. Now,
my take on that is they've come out and said
that because they're worried that this doctor is going to
expose that ash Bias has been buying appetite suppressants. This

(13:50):
is a huge reminder to everyone who sees wellness and
fitness influences online and enviously looks at their bodies and thinks, oh,
if I just pay for their fitness course, I can
look like them, like this is. This is lifting a
huge lid on what's actually going on in the fitness world,

(14:10):
like this is I actually like my draw is on
the ground. I am shocked that this is going on.
Am I naive? It was funny because I was talking
to my husband about peptides, and he studied human movement
and he also worked as a personal trainer in his
early twenties, and he's like, they have been around for ages,
a lot of people have been on them. But I said,
but this is different. These are influencers who are saying

(14:34):
this is what I'm on to look like me like
it's completely changed. Beforehand, you'd hide the fact that you
were using peptides. You'd want people to think, Okay, they
got that naturally, but people are now going, hey, this
is how I do it, and people just think it's normal,
and it's like, oh okay, well it's not that dangerous
if everyone's on it, and it's like, well, you don't
know how your body's going to react, as you can imagine.

(14:55):
Ashy's peptide confession has been met with backlash TikTok and
Madi Nap, who has ten thousand followers, isn't happy with Ashi.
She posed the question to her followers, what's the difference
between getting online and saying I like to take illicit
substances on the weekend and getting online and saying I
like to take peptides? A very good question, she pointsed

(15:17):
out they're both illegal, not FDA approved, and are required
through shady means. She then said this, and then.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
You have influences like Ashy Biens, who have close to
a million followers, getting online and being like, oh, yeah,
I take pep tides, but I'm not promoting it. But
here are the exact ones that I'm taking, and here
are the benefits. I just cannot understand this. When you
have an audience and an audience that is tapped into
what you are sharing you're promoting it, whether you're making
money from it or not. It's promotion. That's exactly what

(15:48):
it is.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
I could not agree more with Mattie's take on this.
I can't stand it when people go, oh, well, people
ask me, so I'm just sharing it, but I'm not
promoting it, even though I'm going into explicit detail which
ones I'm on and what they're doing for me. It
reminds me on a lesser scale of when people share
their day on a plate, when their wellness influences and

(16:10):
I was like, everyone has just been requesting and asking
me about what I eat, but don't follow what I do.
I'm not telling you that this is a food guide.
It's like bullshit. Now, another Australian influencer who's been dragged
into this peptide debate is Sammy Guggenheimer. Now, she was
forced to confess she uses peptides after a screenshot of
her inbox showing an email receipt from a company called

(16:31):
Prime Peptides went viral. And it was pretty ironic because
in February, sam made what appeared to be a thinly
veiled swipe at her former best friend Easy Armitage. So
at the time she urged her followers not to be
too hard on themselves and their bodies, as she knew
quote a fair few people who use a zenpic, which
of course is a prescription based regulated peptide. Now, I

(16:54):
do want to point out that easy Armitage is yet
to confirm or deny if she uses peptides have been
swirling though for months, since she lost a noticeable amount
of weight in a very short period of time. I mean,
people love nothing more than a gotcha moment, don't they.
I mean, this one was perfectly timed off the back
of those fat phobic comments that she and her best
will former bestie now Bill Barker made a couple of

(17:17):
weeks ago. There's also been a lot of speculations surrounding
Sam's body, which again is really gross. She herself has
admitted that she recently lost weight, which is why people
instantly jumped to the conclusion that she was on weight
loss peptide. Well, Sam quickly came out and denied that
she was on appetite suppressing peptides. She did, however, admit

(17:38):
that she's been taking peptides that help with her skin
and gut, so she explained she has lost weight due
to starting ADHD medication as well as returning to the gym.
She also spoke really candidly about struggling with her mental
health and said that she has had a history of
anorexia before. She essentially said her eating disorder flares up

(17:58):
when her mental health is bad. And that's why I
just feel really uncomfortable about this whole gotcha moment with Sam,
because she's clearly struggling at the moment. She has been
in the headlines a lot. This is a really young girl,
and I don't think that we should be throwing as
much shade and hate her way. The irony of this
gotcha moment isn't lost on me, because you've got this

(18:18):
group of people saying, hang on, Sam, you should be
transparent about the peptides you're using. However, if she had
publicly spoken about using peptides, she would have got slammed
like Ashy Bynes for promoting them to her audience. And
now that she's been called out, she's had to address
it and set the record straight on what peptide she's
actually using, and that's meant she's had to reference them

(18:39):
by name and go into what they do to her
very young and impressionable audience who will, no doubt now
want to go and be on the same ones. This
is what Sam says that she was trying to protect
her audience against. That was often a conversation around the
newsrooms when I worked as a journalist at seven. We
would want to do stories warning people against particular trends

(19:00):
online or if it was something about weight loss drugs,
for example. But the debate with some of the producers
was like, well are we telling people what to do? Like,
is this actually promoting it rather than slamming it. Yeah,
It's a really difficult one to get right. I think
in Sam's case, maybe it would have been helpful for
her not to specifically go into detail about the peptides

(19:20):
that she uses, and maybe to have spoken more generally
about them. The drama really doesn't seem to stop for
Sam because just days after she addressed this peptide allegation,
Bill Barker shared his thoughts on influencers promoting peptides, which
seemed very aimed at Sam. Now, it's interesting because Bill
is Sam's latest ex best friend, so the pair were

(19:42):
friends for six years. However, Bill confirmed on Monday Night
during a live TikTok with Amber from Influencer Updates au
that their friendship is now over. So, as we predicted,
it was down to Sam posting the TikTok where he
made that fat phobic comment, and he shared with Amber
that he actually sent Sam a friendship breakup text that

(20:03):
she allegedly replied not a very nice message back and
blocked him. Quite iconic. That he's appearing on lives for
Influencer Updates. Yeah, it's funny. Amber said, it wasn't actually planned,
It just happened really organically. What I found particularly interesting
in this live is that Bill confirmed he's friends again
with Isy Hermitage. What an absolute burned to Sam. And

(20:26):
with all that context, I am convinced that Bill was
in fact throwing shade at Sam. So in the video
he posted on TikTok, he admitted that he used peptides before,
and he's been really open with his audience about it,
so if they ask, he said, he's very transparent that yes,
I have been using them. He then said, what's worse
than talking about peptides online is lying about using them

(20:48):
to your impressionable audience and pretending instead that you've earned
your body through hard work. Bill went on to say,
just owner and people may trust you a bit more.
This is really reminding me of the debate that popped
up around ten years ago when influencers started normalizing cosmetic
procedures and taking viewers behind the scenes in their vlogs

(21:09):
of them getting lip filler or botox. And there was
one half of people saying this is fantastic because they're
breaking down the wall, they're being transparent that they you know,
they look like this because of these enhancements. But then
other people were saying, hey, this isn't great because it
is normalizing it and making teenagers think that in order
to be successful and in order to be beautiful, that
they have to do this. The scary thing is this

(21:32):
has all gone up a level in ten years because
at least the procedures that influencers were promoting were TGA approved.
Like these peptides are unregulated. They're incredibly dangerous, and it
really frightens me the fact that young people are just
purchasing these online and injecting them into their body with
no idea what the effect is going to be. After

(21:55):
weeks of speculation, influencer Morgan Riddle has confirmed her split
from US ten star Taylor Fritz. The news has sent
shockwaves throughout the tennis world, with fans devastated the most
famous woman in men's tennis would no longer be showcasing
her fashion court side. So if I felt really sad
when I saw this news, because Morgan has been so
instrumental in during in a new generation of female taking,

(22:18):
I don't think anyone can downplay the impact that she's
had on the tennis world over the past four years.
She has been widely credited with helping attract more young
female fans by being one of the first partners to
give a behind the scenes look at what it's really
like to spend forty weeks on the international tennis circuit.
Morgan was an influencer before she met Taylor, but her

(22:39):
following really exploded when she started sharing get Ready with
Me videos at the Aussie Open. And what really stood
out about her is instead of being ashamed of the
title of a wag, she really reclaimed it and people
seem to love it. It was really reminiscent of the
Victoria Beckham days, like that sort of glamour around wags
really came back. I mean, her courtside fashion has been

(23:02):
so iconic that she's been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bizarre
and also GQ and as you touched on The New
York Times when as far as calling Morgan the most
famous woman in men's tennis back in twenty twenty four.
So her impact on the game has been enormous. And
this is a really sad day for the tennis world.
I mean that might sound melodramatic, but I was really sad.
I'm like, oh my god, she's not going to be

(23:23):
back at the Aussie Open next year. Look, I wouldn't
be ultra surprised if we see her date another tennis
player or even maybe f one, you know what, I
think that could be her vibe. Well, I've actually heard
reports that she's the one that pulled the pin on
the relationship because she wants to be known as a
separate entity and not just the partner of a famous
sports star. Well, arguably she's more well known than Taylor Fritz.

(23:44):
I mean, she was the one that was actually attracting
more eyeballs on I wonder if that's caused a bit
of tension in their relationship as well. Now getting into
their relationship, timeline just quickly Morgan and Taylor have been
together for almost six years. They began dating in June
twenty twenty after they met on celebrity dating app RAYA.
It's actually just a year after Taylor got divorced. So

(24:06):
he used to be married to professional tennis player Raquel Predreser,
so they were high school sweethearts. They got married in
twenty sixteen, and they share an eight year old son
called Jordan. I wonder how Raquel felt about Taylor having
this new flashy girlfriend rocking up, because the tennis scene
would have been her scene too well, particularly not long
after them getting divorced. I think the worst thing is

(24:27):
that Morgan and Raquel look really similar. Oh they do.
It's crazy. He obviously has a type. In terms of
these breakup rumors, they first started circulating in early April.
So Celebrity Watchdog account DUMI posted a tip off they'd received,
which was entitled game Set Match, and the anonymous sender wrote,

(24:48):
tennis star Taylor Fritz has officially broken things off with
long term girlfriend Morgan Riddle. My bff is seeing one
of his physios and can confirm they broke up and
she's now officially moved to New York City with a
finance man. Another anonymous ender also wrote are you hearing
anything about American tennis player Taylor Fritz and long term
girlfriend Morgan Riddle. Tennis insiders are saying they're done, but

(25:10):
Morgan denied that a couple of weeks ago. But she's
unpinned a lot of Fritz related content on her socials
and Taylor's been spotted on Raya. Now underneath that post,
a number of users confirmed they had seen Taylor on Raya.
What a kick in the dick for Morgan. Why not
go back to the original platform where you secured an

(25:32):
amazing partner. It's interesting because after these rumors started swirling,
Morgan actually denied the breakup, so she tagged Taylor in
a post and wrote, damn did you know about this? Unfortunately,
that all appeared to be damage control because this week
Morgan confirmed the news on Instagram, but unlike most celebrity couples,
the pair didn't opt for the stock standard black and
white tile announcement. Morgan broke the news in what's been

(25:55):
dubbed a breakup dump. So she captioned the post is
this thing on? Why do I feel like this caption
would have been doing the rounds in her friend chat
and everyone be like, Yep, that's it. It actually would
have been more fitting if she just labeled it dumped
because a lot of the speculation is Taylor dumped more.
I'm actually hearing more speculation that she dumped him. It's
actually not clear who pulled the pin on this relationship. See,

(26:18):
I think she was the one that was dumped, particularly
based on her behavior after these rumors started swelling. I
mean she had dumped him, why would she tag him
in a post and write damn did you hear about this?

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Now?

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Getting back to this Instagram dump, the series of photos
revealed that Morgan has moved from Los Angeles, where she
was living with Taylor, to New York, and the post
included photos of moving boxes, as well as Morgan on
the tube and in a yellow taxi. I mean, whole
post had sex in the city vibes. It showed Morgan
out on the town with her girlfriends and even included

(26:50):
a photo of Samantha Jones with the caption the ego
of a man trapped in the body of a woman.
Isn't it interesting that DUMI got it one hundred percent correct?
Because they said she moved to New York City Now.
The photo, which all but confirmed the breakup news, was
of Morgan wearing a T shirt that said World's best
ex girlfriend. I mean, I love the fact that she

(27:10):
broke this news through fashion, seeing as her style is
what she has become known for. How many people do
you think went out and bought that T shirt off
the back of that, because that is absolutely iconic. A
girl I know recently celebrated the fact that her divorce
papers came through, and she did it by having a
cake that said World's hottest ex wife on it. Oh,
that was absolutely iconic. This actually confirms to me that

(27:32):
she was the one that was dumped though, because if
you were the dumper, you'd hardly wear this type of
T shirt. Like to me, this T shirt signals that
she's pissed off and this is a bit of a
fuck you post. Yeah, And it's almost like I've taken
this in my stride. I'm not being petty. I'm happy
to move on even though you're the one that's dumped me.
You can tell that every single photo in this dump

(27:53):
would have been painstakingly agonized over. She even included a
photo of her in bed with tears streaming down her face.
There was also a photo of a New York restaurant
with a banner out the front that said you can
cry here, and more signs that she was the one
that was dumped. She also got really twenty twelve with it.
She included a quote that said, I'm you from the
future and I have wonderful news. Everything is about to change.

(28:17):
Isn't there nothing more cringe? They're going back over your
phone at a time that you were dumped and finding
screenshots of all the cringe quotes that you thought were
appropriate to post on Instagram. It's really embarrassing because when
I got dumped back in twenty fourteen, the day after,
I uploaded a quote from Taylor Swift's All Too Well
lyric and I think it was about, you know, feeling

(28:38):
like a crumpled up piece of paper lying here, and
my ex boyfriend was still following me at the time,
and I'm like, what the fuck was I thinking? Like
how pathetic do you want to look? I just find
it amusing the difference between men and women and how
you can suddenly tell when one is single, Like a
man would just suddenly change his profile photo. It'd be
some weird selfie. Yeah, they're suddenly active on social media

(29:00):
after being mia for the last five years that they've
been in that rob started running again. Suddenly they're sharing
their their Strava update. I mean, this is thirty five
year old men I'm talking about. I think it relates
to the mid twenties as well. I really loved seeing
this story being reported on by male journals who work
in sport, because one of them described the photo dump

(29:21):
as really confusing, like they couldn't understand it. They were like, oh,
in this really absurd photo dump. It's like, sorry, this
is absolute poetry in motion here. She's painted the whole
story out for now you just have to piece it together.
It's East Streaks. It's like a Taylor Swift. She's literally
living her best life in New York, surrounded by her

(29:41):
female besties. She's throwing it out there that she's a
strong woman with a reference to Samantha Jones. She's showing
that she's upset, crying, she's moved in You what else
do they fucking want from this photo dump? Yeah, what
she's saying is, look, I'm independent, I've moved on. I'm
in New York living my best life. But I'm also
self aware enough and vulnerable enough that I actually have

(30:01):
been crying. And also, he dumped me, is what she's
saying now. So I know you are trying to convince
yourself that Morgan was the one that made this decision,
But the fact that one of her friends wrote under
the post historic fumble makes it even clearer to me
that she was the one that was dumped. Another friend
also wrote always has been, always will be iconic, and

(30:24):
a follower wrote I'm going to miss you so much
on that box, Queen. Despite the overwhelming feeling being sadness
over this breakup, there were some male fans who were
rejoicing over it, saying, oh, yes, a twenty twenty six
Grand Slam is incoming for Taylor because he doesn't have
all of these distractions on and off the court anymore.
I love that they don't consider a breakup being a distraction. Oh,

(30:44):
he might be heartbroken about the fact that he's no
longer with his long term girlfriend. Oh that's not going
to be distracting at all. Oh, but now that she's not,
you know, posting selfies of what she's wearing online, Like,
I mean, he's been doing pretty well the last five
years that he's been with her. I mean, if anything,
he's going to be distracted by all of the girls
now sliding into his dms because he's an attractive guy
and obviously people can see that it's a career opportunity

(31:08):
being on the circuit with him, and Morgan has made
him better. You know when a guy has a really
hot girl friend, like, Yeah, she has completely elevated him.
I mean, I just think it's ironic that men are
blaming her for his performance on the court instead of
actually applauding the massive impact that she's had on the sport.
I mean, she has attracted, as we touched on, so
many female fans. It reminds me of the vitriol that

(31:30):
some male NFL fans have had towards Taylor Swift, despite
the fact that she also drew in a whole new
demographic of female fans for the sport.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
To me, it just shows that men don't want females
interested in sport. They just want to keep it all
to themselves. I am interested to see what this means
for Morgan's career moving forward, because back in January, it
was widely reported that she out earned Taylor during the
Australian Open. So while Taylor made roughly four hundred and
seventy five thousand for reaching the round of sixteen at

(31:58):
the OHS Open, Morgan's earnings reportedly surpassed that, reaching over
four hundred and ninety eight thousand dollars. It will be
interesting to see how she pivots her content and whether
sport will still be a feature because she recently founded
the four hundreds Club, which is a platform that helps
sport to be catered to the female fan. Look, I
think she's going to be okay. She can now just

(32:20):
focus her content purely on her It's not like she's
not going to have events to document, you know, as
she previously had Wimbledon in the Australian Open. Next it
will probably be coach Heiler or and other influencer events.
I think that is all we have time for today.
