Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Sophie Torba and coming up on today's show, Alive Kelly
and Rhys Hawkins Done, Jado Tunci's controversial baby name. Matt
Zakowski breaks down over one year wedding anniversary and our

(00:21):
Friday Influencer Dump the first Laura Henshaw has hung her
husband Dalton out to dry, just weeks away from the
birth of their first child, Cake. Can you tell us what?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Well?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
It's becoming a bit of a pattern of behavior for Laura.
I bet Dalton wishes that she just stopped speaking about
him publicly or particularly on their podcast, because it was
only a couple of weeks ago that Laura shared a
video of her doing that spilt milk TikTok challenge with Dalton.
For those who haven't seen it, Laura sat on her
husband's lap with a mouthful of milk and proceeded to

(00:51):
spit it up on him like a baby wood and
in the process, she also farted. Now, Dalton's reaction was
absolutely prime. He essentially had a freak out and stormed off.
To be fair, though, that was more humiliating for Laura
than it was for Dalton. This video actually made its
way into my husband and his friendship groups orbit, which

(01:12):
really shocked me because I had to catch up with
his friends and they're like, oh my god, I saw
the Laura Henshaw video before you even posted it. It
popped up and this is a friend who is obsessed
with farts. So I thought that was absolutely classic. I
was gonna say, this doesn't surprise me because Brandon's face
lights up when anyone talks about farts, like somehow with
farts get brought up at our family dinner. He is

(01:32):
so excited. Well, it was actually his friend who was
even more obsessed with farts than him, So I've seen it.
So it's in the fart TikTok algorithm, and there's the
type of guys who sent each other their poos on snapschat.
Is that the same type of guys who I'm not
confirming or deny any of that. Yuck. Anyway, back to
Laura Henshaw and Dalton, I feel like since they announced

(01:53):
their pregnancy, she's been stitching him up even more because
with the birth announcement, she revealed during a podcast into
that the baby was conceived after Dalton hassled her for
sex and she obliged, but put on a two minute
timer to ensure it was quick. And then there was
the vision from the pregnancy test where Dalton was in
the shower and they have this really unique shower where

(02:14):
it's like you have to step down into it, so
it made him look like he was incredibly short, and
people also question whether he was manscaping, and she took
the test. So this week, Laura has taken it a
step further and on her podcast she shared an embarrassing
encounter they had at a pelvic floor physio. So Laura
had an appointment to discuss her birth plan with the

(02:34):
physio and she brought Dalton along. However, she didn't realize
that she would have to have a pelvic floor check
before the discussion, so Dalton was present for it. For
those unfamiliar with this type of check, it's an internal
examination where the physio has to insert fingers into the
vagina essentially, and Laura said that she could tell Dalton
felt very awkward but was trying to play it cool.

(02:56):
He couldn't hide his discomfort though, when the physio suggested
that she teached Dalton how to perform the muscle releasing
method that she was doing on Laura. So for background information,
Laura has broken her coxic bone a couple of times
when she was younger, and due to her pregnancy, there's
a lot of pressure at the moment on her vaginal wall.
So to ease that pressure, she needs this technique done.

(03:18):
I was gonna say, I escaped anyone seeing my vagina
right up until my sea section. Is in the whole
lead up to my pregnancy, I didn't have to show
it once to anyone. I didn't have to do any
of this. That really surprised me. I was expecting to
show my vagina much earlier on. I mean, Laura is
also having an elective c section, but she has opted
in to see the pelvic physio because she's been open

(03:39):
about the fact of having issues within continents and also
she's got this issue with her coxic bone. Now, I
want to throw to a clip of Laura explaining what
happened when Dalton was asked to come and learn the technique.
So then Dog was like, oh, okay, and then of
course he makes a sex joke. No see feeling so awkward,

(04:01):
and he just like made it, I was like, and
it made even more awkward, and I was like, why
it dolesid not? She would just laugh though, yeah, but
I was like, don't make a sense joking this moment anyway.
And then she said, okay, but you need to put
a glove on, and like, of course it makes sense
because we're in a clinical but usually would not.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
She's like, at home, you.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Don't need Why does this remind me of something that
your husband would doing it? Definitely does. I remember him
making a few offhand comments when I was being checked
out by medical stuff, to the point where I nearly
laughed and it was just so embarrassing. Well, it's so
awkward for the person doing it because obviously it's a
very clinical process and they're just used to doing it

(04:42):
every day, whereas obviously it's a new thing for the
support person and everyone deals with things differently, like whether
it's humor or taking it very seriously. Well, it was
quite funny because Dalton ended up being so frazzled that
he ended up putting the glove on his left hand
despite being right handed, and Laura's co host Steph clair
Smith also revealed that her husband Josh was unable to

(05:04):
help her with her perineal massage leading into her birth,
because he couldn't help but make it sexual. So he
said that he didn't feel comfortable being the one to
perform it because when he tried to, Steph would grimace
in pain, and he said it just felt wrong to
continue doing it. I know we're having a little bit
of a laugh about this, but from a more serious point,
when you are heavily pregnant, you can't reach that area.

(05:27):
So if you actually do want to go down the
path of doing peranial massage to avoid tearing, it's pretty
annoying that men make it sexual and then like, oh,
I don't want to do it, Like just do it.
Your wife has done enough physical labor that you just
need to grow up and do it in a clinical fashion.
There's just a real creepy element to it though, too,

(05:47):
because it's like, oh, these men who they haven't had
it for a couple of weeks, a couple of months
or whatever it is, and it's like oh O, like
it is peranial massage, like the boss said. Since the appointment,
because the physio told her she should do it once
a week, Dalton has asked every day if they should
do it, and she keeps saying, no, We're going to
wait till Saturday. And then she revealed that they in

(06:07):
that phase where they have completely stopped having it. And
then Laura said, Okay, we can do it, but I'm
gonna put a timerround. No, she actually said that she
would prefer him to wear gloves, so it seemed more clinical.
Good morning, guys. Rumors are swelling that Live Kelly has
split from Reese Hawkins and is back with her ex
AFL football at Jamarat Hugilhagen. Okay, I feel like Reese

(06:28):
and Live only got together just recently. Well, it was
actually back in August that Live Hard launched her relationship
with Reese Hawkins, and the announcement came off the back
of growing speculation that Reese and Tammy Hembro had rekindled
their romance following her divorce from Matt Sakowski. Funnily enough,
it was Tammy who sparked the rumor after sharing a
family reunion video to TikTok featuring Reese and their two children.

(06:52):
The video sent Tammy's fans into a frenzy and amassed
over seventeen million views on TikTok. Understandably, it was enough
for Live to stamp her authority on her new boyfriend.
Several hours later, she shared her own TikTok of her
canoodling with Reese at a cafe and added the caption
peppermint tea anyone now. With many eyeballs firmly on her content,

(07:15):
it gave Live the opportunity to also throw some shade
at her EXAFL player boyfriend Jamara. So in August, she
shared a compilation of very sweet moments with Reese and
caption them, thank God when my family and friends ask
how I am being treated, I don't have to lie
anymore now. This wasn't the first time that she has
taken a potshot at Jamara. A month earlier, she made

(07:38):
headlines when she uploaded a TikTok that seemed to be
directed at him. So she filmed a video of herself
and added the caption when you kept silent to protect them,
but find out what they were actually doing when you
weren't there. Their projections are their actions. And there was
obviously a lot of commentary under this video, to which
Live replied, we love a narcissist and intuition was right

(08:00):
all along. Now In terms of their relationship timeline. They
got together in twenty twenty two after Jamara's public breakup
with Mia Favola, and broke up in twenty twenty four
despite publicly airing her grievances with her ex. It appears
they may be back together. So Jamara sent the rumor
meal into overdrive when he shared a photo of himself

(08:21):
lounging on what appears to be Liv's couch with her dog.
Live has also been spotted showing love on a number
of Jamara's Instagram posts recently, particularly those concerning his return
to the Gold Coast, where she lives. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
So.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
He recently announced he signed with the Gold Coast Suns
for the twenty twenty six season. He was previously signed
to the Western Bulldogs in twenty twenty four, but then
had the twenty twenty five season off due to personal reasons.
To add even more fuel to this fire, Jamara also
shared a photo to Instagram on the seventeenth of November
of him walking lives dogs on the Gold Coast. Now.

(08:59):
This attracted a lot of interesting comments from his mates.
One friend wrote, I still want to know who's dog though,
to which Jamara replied, stay in your cold ar city.
Another added, who's got you smiling like that? And Jamara replied,
I'll get big O onto you now. The oh he
is referring to may possibly be Live because her full
name is Olivia, and to make it even more ancestual,

(09:21):
Bailey Smith and Matt Paul, two of Tammy Hembrow's former flames,
have been liking Jamara's Instagram. When I originally saw the post,
I thought, Oh, there's going to be some reasonable explanation
because Liv has been in La on a work trip,
so I thought maybe she's got Jamara to dog sit
for her. However, the timelines just don't add up, so
she returned early last week and Jamara shared the photo

(09:44):
of him at Liv's house on the weekend. I think
they're definitely back together, particularly because he's now living on
the Gold Coast and also because Live hasn't posted publicly
with Reese Hawkins for a few months now. The couple
were doing long distance because Reese lives in Balley and
Live is of course on the Gold Coast. However, their
social media interaction has also dropped off, like Reese has
only sporadically been liking Liv's post. Funnily enough. He did

(10:07):
like her most recent post, but Liv hasn't been reciprocating
she didn't like his recent post. Do we reckon that
Reese Hawkins was used as a bit of a pawn
in her game to get Jamia back. I mean, she
called the guy a narcissist and made a ton of
TikTok videos about him. She was obviously very hung up
on him. Yeah, particularly when you reflect upon the fact
that Liv shared that TikTok about how great Reese is

(10:28):
in comparison to her ex, Like, why would you keep
making potshots at your ex if you'd happily moved on.
I also think the Tammy situation made it very difficult
for Live and Reese. As much as Liv tried to
act like it didn't have an effect on her, her
TikTok content says differently. For instance, last week, she mimed
to lyrics from a song Be Careful, which said, but

(10:49):
that's not my m O. The karma for you is
going to be with who you end up with, and
a lot of people thought that was aimed at Tammy Hembro.
Someone asked if it was a subtle message for you
know who, to which Live responded not directed at anyone,
just a sound trend. If they are back together, it's
going to be pretty awkward when she starts sharing about
him again. I feel like you have to remove a
ton of those videos. Oh yes, you'll have to archive

(11:10):
quite a few.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Speaking of dates, and that on the weekend would have
been my one year wedding anniversary.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Matt Sakowski has reflected on what would have been his
one year wedding anniversary to Tammy Hembro, speaking on his
podcast Where's Your Head At, The former Love islander admitted
to breaking down in tears whilst relistening to his wedding
song on Spotify Now. So it definitely sounded like it
had been an emotional time for Matt. Yeah, it really
felt like Matt wanted his listeners to note just how

(11:42):
impacted he has been by this milestone. His co host
Anna McAvoy even said that she saw this real shift
in his behavior two weeks leading into the anniversary, saying
that he seemed really off and upset. Let's have a
listen to what they said.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Leading up to it. It has been on my mind
or loss because obviously I don't know if other people
do this. I reminisce in my head about and compare
stuff from like a year ago, and I think about
a year ago. Granted a year ago leading up to
it was probably one of the better times of the relationship,
so that made me a little bit a little bit
emotional about it. I guess on the day, I rely
did some family activities and surrounded myself with loved ones

(12:20):
to not that I was upset, because obviously I don't know.
It's a real mixed to emotions, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
It was interesting that Matt pointed out that this period
of their relationship was one of the best times, particularly
considering when you reflect on everything that was going on
leading into it. There were so many public unfollowings, so
it's like, well, if that was a good time, how
bad were the other times? Yeah? Well, he spoke about
the wedding with this real fondness as well, saying all
things aside, it was a great day with genuine love

(12:49):
in the air, which was an interesting comment. He also
said that whilst people have their own perception about what happened,
he has his own truth and since leaving the relationship
he's felt so much much better, which made him feel
slightly more comfortable about the day itself, so there was
a little bit of a swipe there. I feel like
social media always does you dirty when you're approaching a

(13:10):
tough day, you know, the snapchat reminders pop up or
the Facebook memories, But this time it was actually Matt's
Spotify DJ who stuck the knife in so unbeknown to me.
It has this feature where it asks you if you
want to play songs you were listening to this time
last year, and the AIDJ asked if Matt wanted to
listen to how Do I Live, which was his wedding song,

(13:33):
and he said it was obviously in his playlist because
he and Tammy had been practicing their dance a lot
this time last year, and he said he decided to
listen to it and ended up with tears in his eyes.
There were so many times during his podcast that he
mentioned he had been in tears, which is sad to hear,
but I think that he also just really wanted to
drive home to his audience. Hey, this has been impact

(13:55):
in me. I might look like I've moved on and
I'm dating someone else now, but it has been a
tough couple of weeks. I think that Matt is winning
some listeners over because I feel like there's been a
bit of a change, and even myself, I'm liking that
a lot more and feel quite sorry for him. I
really liked him before he dated Tammy hambro Like. I
was quite a fan of his podcast. I mean, he
wasn't painted well on Love Ireland, but he's sort of

(14:17):
one of those guys that he does have a comedic side.
He's got golden retriever energy, I think because he's quite
open with how he feels. It's pretty brave to admit
that you've been crying on your car over a very
public breakup. He also started the podcast withere, sharing that
he just bought a brand new car. He used to
drive a smaller car and he's about six foot five,

(14:39):
so you get the idea of this very tall guy
driving a little car. And he said he arrived at
work with his arm and latte and then tried to
get out of the car but somehow lost his balance
and fell out, smashed his phone and has bruised the
side of his body. And the timing of it just
seems so cruel, particularly because it's been a year since
his wedding anniversary. That I mean, he didn't even make

(15:00):
to a year. I have to I had a bit
of a laugh at that story though, because he did
tell it in a comedic way, and just to imagine
a six foot five guy totally stacking it out of
his brand new car that he was quite proud to
be in. Yeah, he said that he actually wished someone
saw him do it because it would have validated how
it felt, because he kind of got up and was like,
did that even happen? I think the most fascinating element

(15:22):
of this podcast was Matt's story about his matching Sarah
and Sebastian bracelet that he shared with Tammy. So up
until recently, he has still been wearing a bracelet with
Tammy's initial on it. So these are bracelets that they
got to celebrate one year of meeting each other. And
they are the Sarah and Sebastian bracelets, which you can

(15:43):
get permanently salted onto your wrist. I am a huge
fan of these. I've seen these all over Instagram and
it's been touted as this really cute thing that you
can do with your partner. It actually makes it feel claustrophobic,
Like I'm someone that gets quite overstimulated with having jewelry on.
So the thought of having this bracelet starck on my
risk permanently makes me feel ill. Do you know what's
awkward the fact that it's this permanent bracelet yet their

(16:05):
marriage only lasted a couple of months. Yeah, the bracelets
lasted longer than the marriage. It does seem to be
the last piece of Tammy that Matt has been holding
on too well. He said that since he and Tammy
got separated, everyone in his life has been asking him,
when are you going to remove this bracelet, and until recently,
his answer had been that he was just going to

(16:26):
wait for it to fall off. How would you feel, though,
if you were dating Matt and he still had his
Tammy bracelet on? I don't know if I'd be impressed.
I'd be like, you need to get rid of that aceap,
like you are definitely holding onto something. I mean. He's
spoken a lot about how he never thinks he'll get
back with Tammy, but to me, there is a part
of him that maybe hope they might get back together

(16:46):
and rekindle things. Tammy and her sisters have been painting
Matt a bit as a cloud chaser recently, do you Reckon?
He almost liked having the bracelet on so that new
girls that he'd be tuning would see and be like, wow,
it's a bit of a little bracelet with a tea on.
I mean, I think if you're trying to impress girls
that you're dating by wearing a bracelet with your ex's

(17:08):
initial on it, that's not how you got about it.
As you said, though, it is really a way to
hold on to that relationship in the past. It was
almost as though he was reading into the fact that
Tammy also still had her bracelet on. It was almost
his element of hope. Yeah. Well, it was a trip
to the bathroom during a day in the office that
Matt's bracelet actually got caught on a hinge in the

(17:28):
toilets and loosened. And he said it was at the
point where it kept rolling down his wrist and he
knew he had to do something. So he ended up
going down to the Sarah and Sebastian store at Chadstone,
and he said when he got there there was a
large group of girls there, so he waited until they
left because he didn't want them to overhear him speaking
to the assistant. Let's take a listen to what he said,

(17:48):
and I was like the.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Girl working there. I was like, hey, I just sat
this bracelet. It's sort of loose. I didn't realize it's
under warranty, but I was like, hey, I want to
change the letters X's wife. And I actually like started
choking up as I was talking to her, and I
was like, fuck, I actually didn't think I was going
to get that emotional over it. And then she was like, oh,

(18:09):
like I understand it. She was actually really kind. This
girl was really kind there and actually took the time.
She's like that's fine, Like this happens. People come and
get their exes changed over. And I was like okay,
and then she's like, come with me and took me
to like the soldiering place where they do it. And
as she was changing it, because I put a z
on there now for Zakowski, and I started like I
was actually holding back tears in the middle of the

(18:30):
Chadston while she was doing it, I think she could tell.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Was it just me or did anyone else pick up
a vibe that maybe the shop assistant was interested in
him or there was a bit of flirting going on,
because he said that she actually slid into his DMS afterwards,
asking if he was okay, I think that she probably
just genuinely felt sorry for him, particularly if he was crying,
like you're not going to be like, oh, I think
I might date this guy who's clearly not over his ex. Oh, yeah,

(18:56):
I loved it. He was like I was crying with
the glasses on. I were welding the bracelet back up
with my new initial. If that was me, I would
have just got rid of the bracelet altogether, like I
wouldn't have added another letter. I would have just been like,
it's done.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Well.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
No, but he had a warranty. He's quite cheap, isn't it. Yeah,
And the Sarah and Sebastian bracelets are very expensive. So
on the topic of Tammy, she wasn't at the TikTok
Awards last night, which has generated a lot of confusion
because she was up for TikTok Creator of the Year.
We are going to be discussing in more detail on
Tuesday's episode. Does anyone feel like the TikTok Awards have

(19:29):
become bigger than say, the Logis and the arias well?
Maybe in our world. No, I genuinely think that, because
I mean I was talking to my husband about it like,
have you heard about the TikTok Awards. He's like, it's
been everywhere, Like the promotion has been massive. The TikTok
Awards have only been around since twenty twenty three, but
I think every year it gets bigger. And I saw
some commentary saying it was an embarrassing awards. It was

(19:51):
embarrassing to appear there. Really, I think there were so
many people gagging for an inn. Yeah. I heard Anna
macavoy say that she wasn't invited to last year's t
TikTok Awards, which really spurred her on to start sharing
more content on TikTok so that she would get an
invite this year. And she was fretting because she's like,
where's my invite and her manager's like, look, maybe just
check your junk mail. It was in there. She did

(20:13):
attend this year's awards. Do you think some influencers just
bought general tickets and pretended that they were invited? Surely not.
The clip I keep seeing from the awards show is
Abby Chatfield on stage playing the drums as her boyfriend
Kelly Holiday performed and the Blue Wiggle is next to
her for some reason, and also that Wiggles Tree character.
I'm not really into the New Wiggles, but apparently that

(20:33):
is either your absolute favorite or you hate him. Oh yeah,
someone mentioned that tree to me and I'm like, I'm
only listening to the og Wiggles, That's all I'm allowing
at the time. I'm only interested in the Hot Wiggle.
Let's get into our Friday influencer dump. I'm so excited.
This is the first influencer dump that I have been
involved in because I'm not usually on Friday's show. And Kate,
every time you really emphasize the word dumb really like,

(20:56):
it just makes me laugh everything anytime. Let's kick us
off with jar Da Twinci. So. She announced the arrival
of her second child on Monday. She's got two under two,
which well, I mean her son was born around the
same time as Jack and the thought of having a
newborn baby just freaks me out. I saw Influence updates
posting about it and it was like her first son
was born in twenty twenty four and her second was

(21:18):
in twenty twenty five, and I was like, holy shit,
I know our thoughts are with Jade. Tuency was she
is navigating this difficult time It's so lovely though, because
it seems this time around she's having a much better experience.
She said she finally understands what the newborn bubble is.
She didn't have that experience with her first son. Now.
Her second son's name is Harvey Brooks, and he arrived
two weeks early. On the nineteenth of November. Jar Day

(21:41):
revealed that she was reluctantly induced four days after her
water broke. Fortunately, though, she said she was pleasantly surprised
by the outcome and only had to push for nine minutes.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Now.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
To put that into comparison, she said she pushed for
an hour and a half with her first son, Fletcher.
Now we need to talk about the name because it
has prized a lot of people now, not because it's unusual,
but because it's the same baby name as another high
profile influencer. So jar Day and Lockey, as I said,
have gone with the name Harvey, and Harvey is also

(22:13):
the name of Jarday's friend and fellow influencer, Steph Klere.
So odd. Look, I think that it's an issue at all.
They don't even live in the same state. Harvey. Steph
Cleare Smith's son is four and this baby is a
couple of days old, so they hard they're going to
be hanging out all the time, are they? There's an
age gap. I think people have commented on it because

(22:36):
in this day and age, these sorts of milestone so
you birth announcement, your name revealed, they're big deals when
it comes to the influencer space. It's a way to
kind of stamp your brand a little bit. And I
think people are surprised that jar Day would go with
a name that another high profile influence has. I mean,
I personally think it's ridiculous. Who cares they have the
same name. I just think it's refreshing to have a

(22:57):
normal name chosen by an influencer. I also like the
fact that she's probably thought, well, fuck it, I don't
care about this being a branding moment for me. Like
she clearly loves the name Harvey, so she's gone with it.
I mean, Steph clare Smith clearly doesn't care. She congratulated
jar Day and wrote on her birth announcement, little Harvey Man,
Welcome to the world.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
I kind of think it's a compliment if someone else
calls their kid the same name as yours. Yeah, but
think about it when Kylie Jenner apparently copied Tammy Hembro's
baby name of Wolf, I mean she ended up changing
the name. And then you've got Molly May and Indy
Clinton who both have bambies. I know that there was
a little bit of a irritation amongst them because her
unusual names, Like there's about one hundred thousand Harvees of

(23:39):
this generation now because of suits. I mean, we spoke
about the name Harvey on Tuesday Show. It's a popular
name at the moment. It's not a rare name. As
she Binds almost missed her flight to Sydney for the
TikTok Awards because she was too busy filming content. The
og fitness influencer revealed the airline put out a final
bording call for her and podcast co host to Jana Bundelow.

(24:02):
Let's take a listen, mister Tjana Bandolo and Ashley Evans.
We are off to Sydney. We've just had to have
been update on she rises and stories, but we got
our final boarding call, so we'll update you guys when
we land or I've got so many exciting things happening now.
Despite being informed that they were holding the plane up
as she didn't appear to be in a rush. Rather

(24:25):
than boarding the plane quickly, she set up her camera
on the tarmac to film her and Tajana walking towards it.
She then outed herself by uploading a video to her
Instagram story of her rushing back to collect her phone,
captioning the vision. Ever, wonder what it's like filming in
public for b role. The footage actually reminded me of
something you'd see on Influences in the Wild. Maybe she

(24:46):
put it out there because she was worried that someone
on the plane filmed her and was going to be like,
what a tossa holding up this whole plane. It kind
of reminds me of when Ruby Tuesday Matthews held up
the flight because she was too busy having oysters at
a cafe. I can disimagine all the boomers on the
plane just being like this fucking stupid girl. Look, it
would piss me off, because there's nothing worse than sitting
on a plane in the timac. You know, the air

(25:07):
CON's not on, you just want to get on with things.
I mean, it was a little bit disrespectful to the
people waiting. It's ironic that it was for the TikTok Awards, though,
I mean, can you imagine how many TikTokers were holding
up planes from across the country. Beck Judd has revealed
that one of her sons runs in exchange for screen time.
The entrepreneur shared a photo of her son running on

(25:28):
a treadmill inside her Brighton mansion and wrote, this kid
runs in exchange for time on the Nintendo. He ran
five k's on the weekend and has asked if he
can do more before school. When I saw Beck's story,
I got Rachel Finch vibes. Remember last year we got
ourselves blocked by Rachel when we discussed the backlash that
she received after she shared a video of her jogging

(25:49):
behind her daughter, Violet. Now, Violet was eight years old
at the time, and Rachel was shouting words of encouragement
to her. And this was at a school running event.
Why can I just imagine they keep fucking running like
it's actually like words of encouragement. At the time, one
of the moms came out and said that their daughter
was actually really intimidated by Rachel doing that. Anyway, in

(26:09):
terms of Beck's kids, when I had more time to
sit with it, I was like, actually, I think this
could be a positive thing because I hate seeing kids
glued to screens and if you can get your kid
to actually be active and away from a screen and
then sort of earn their screen time, I don't think
there's actually anything wrong with that. I think the optics
of it just looked wrong because he was on a treadmill.

(26:31):
Like if he had been outside running laps of an
oval or going on a run, it probably wouldn't look
that bad because whenever I see like when I saw
him on the treadmill, I was like, it looks like
it's that old school thing of working off something true,
whereas he was actually working on five k's. It just
seems like quite excessive. And I think it also has

(26:52):
to do with there being a lot of speculation about
Beck's weight. She constantly has to come out and say, hey,
I am just naturally very thin. So I think that
that has sort of added to a bit of the
commentary around this. I suppose it's unusual to see a kid,
as you said, on a treadmill, Like I definitely think
that she probably would have been praised if she was like,

(27:12):
okay in order to earn screen time. My kids have
to play outside on a tennis court, or you know,
run around the block or read a book or something.
If it was like, oh, he's having a hit of
tennis in exchange for ten minutes on his Nintendo or whatever,
you'd be like, Oh, she's a parent of the year. Fantastic.
Let's get into our Friday debrief because this is a
bit of a rarity. The three of us are here.

(27:33):
You can give us an update on what's going on
in your life. So at Hotel Hancock, what do you
want to hear about? You have been paying me out
all year? Yeah? How is How is the transformation going
from home to hotel now that you have a baby?
Do you enjoy being there a lot more now that
you've got you know, special prints and stuff? I do?
I do? I actually think about that quite a lot
where I'm like, oh, God, if we've done nothing to

(27:54):
this place, so I be crawling the absolute wall. I
just had a thought about that girl that left her
review saying that we will have to be nicer to Sophie.
I would like to say that those comments are tongue
in cheek. That's just a bit of banter between the city.
You could be anyway, but I had to share. I
have to share this story because I thought it really
showed the kindness of strangers. So my husband and his mum,

(28:16):
they have been painting the outside of our house. Thank you.
I was going to pay Sophie out there to I
was like, I was trying to think of the right phrase.
But it's probably that's when the Simpsons, isn't it anyway.
So basically they have been painting the front of our house.
We have a red brick house originally that's very ugly,
so we have been what they have been painting at

(28:37):
white and basically they were almost done and one of
our neighbors, who we've never spoken to, who lives down
the road from us, he stopped his car out the
front of our house, dashed out the door and handed
my husband a bottle of wine and said, I just
want to say, on behalf of the street, thank you
for what you've been doing. Your house looks incredible and
I love the fact that you guys have been doing

(28:58):
all yourselves. I don't understand how are you doing anything
for the street by just you know, doing stuff. I
tell you we were thinking about that because we're helping
add value to the street. I don't think that you're
going to put it up on the market. So I
think it's because our house was a rental for a
number of years and I think people did nothing to
it as a rental. And our neighbor has been living

(29:19):
next door to us. This isn't the one that gave
us the wine, but another neighbor for forty years. And
she said that it's so special that someone loves the
house so much and has been taking good care of it.
So I just thought that was so nice. We didn't
want to tell him that we actually don't drink wine,
but we've got it in the fridge. We looked like
an alcoholics fridge because from my baby shower, I had
all this wine left over and we don't know what
to do with Well, it's Christmas. Time to start putting,

(29:40):
bagging it up and giving it to Peper. Now, Amy,
you revealed on the podcast a couple of weeks ago
your obsession with Matcha or March or however you want
to say it, and you're a new obsession. Amy, it
actually made you late for a work event we recently had.
I wasn't late, I was five minutes early. But this
week we had the annual cherry option debate A way.
I actually wasn't it. Sophet sat at six fifteen am

(30:02):
and I got there. I thought it was supposed to
get there as well. I was only the pression were
supposed to be that. Okay, well you're kind of saying
about the thing is I actually made you a marcher
and that's why I was late. So I guess I
was going to say it was actually lovely. I felt
bad for you because you had been talking about how
much you were dreading having to get up. I think
you got it at four thirty am or something, and

(30:25):
I thought I'd be a nice sister and give you
a matcho. So ife, shouldn't you be used to getting
up at that time? Yeah, got a five month old?
Well I'm used to getting up early. But I think
it's a different story when you have to be up
at four point thirty, put makeup on, do your hair,
get out the door, and then know that you're returning
back to look after a small baby all day. It
reminded me of doing the early shift at seven, having

(30:46):
to get there at six am, like driving in the dark. Well,
we have been working on this event for the past
I think five years we worked out so every year
they auction off a box of cherries for a really
good core. So this year it was supporting Variety and
they raised sixty five thousand dollars. So it's an incredible
thing to be a part of. But most years Amy
and I'd be able to sneak home and have a

(31:07):
bit of a rest afterwards. But when you've got a child,
you realize there is no rest. So no more importantly,
have you got any cherries that you're going to bring
to family?

Speaker 2 (31:16):
I do.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
I got a whole pune. I didn't pay sixty five thousand.
I got them for free. So oh perfect, because I
feel like it's not Christmas unless you have some cherries,
and I haven't yet to have any. They are not
allowed at my house because for anyone who is unaware,
they are very, very toxic to dog. Yeah, I had
to take one for the team and take the cherries
home because I couldn't bear with another visit to the

(31:39):
vet for poor Archie because what was it a few
years ago? Archie was just near a grape that was
on the ground. He didn't even consume it, we didn't
even know, and you took him to the vet and
had his stomach pumped, so he kin't of any check.
We can't be sure as to whether he ate. There
was a there was a store. What is it called
when grapes are on the thing? Was it? There was
a vine that was had no grapes left and they

(32:01):
were under a table. This is that We asked the
vet what the best point of action will This is
actually quite a good segue for my Friday share because
my poor dog Shadow, he has done his acl We've
been on walks and people are like, where's Shadow? And
when I said I he's done his acls, one of
that neighbors was like, oh, has he been playing footy

(32:22):
or cricket? And I'm like, no, he just chased after
a bird. The poor thing. He is limping around. He's
booked in for surgery on the tenth of December. I
feel so bad for Shadow, and I'm dreading the whole
thing because we have to keep him quiet for six
weeks and we live in the hills, and our driveway
is incredibly steep, and then our backyard is three tiered

(32:44):
with stairs on it. So the only way to get
him out to go to the bathroom is to carry
him now he weighs thirty two kilos and I'm looking
after a toddler. So we're still working out how that's
all going toward. What are you going to do? I
don't know, so if anyone's got any tips, if they've
been through it. We did talk to a neighbor whose
dog has had the same thing done, and they basically

(33:06):
said that they can give you painkillers that kind of
knock the dog out, but I think for six weeks,
like you can't have your dog buddy come on top
if you're other dogs on drugs too. If we just
come over from there, just on these doggy pillows, just
on the just passed out. We said, the silver lining
is thank god it didn't happen to Sonny because it
would have been worse. Like she's even more up and

(33:27):
about so poor Shadow. I feel so sorry for him.
His birthdays on the fourteenth of December. It's going to
be a tough one. Eyeball on drugs. We'll be fine. Well.
