Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, and welcome to Outspoken.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's your dose of the hottest influencer and pop culture
news twice a week.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I'm Amy Torber, I'm Kate Talba, and I'm Sophie Talber.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
And coming up on today's show, Matt Zakowski's tell Or
interview with The Daily.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Mail, and an Australian influencer is accused of using AI
to allegedly fake charity work.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
But first, Chloe Zepp has confirmed she's packed up the
family home she shared with her fiance and baby daddy,
Mitch Orville.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
This made me sad because there was a part of
me that was still holding out hope that they may
get back together. But it seems quite final. So in
an Instagram story, she wrote, happy dance because I packed
up the entire house and it's done and dusted. A
bit of a weird move considering she hasn't actually publicly
stated they've broken up.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I don't understand why there has been no announcement yet.
It seems like they've been drip feeding their followers with
this break up. The only reason I can think of
is because they don't want PEA to invade their privacy
at this difficult time, but then just don't share anything.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, why I reveal that you've moved out?

Speaker 2 (01:04):
And then I mean she's been taking photos and saying
that she's moved closer to the beach and it's been
loving the new location. I mean, I suppose maybe if
she is now keen to open up more about her life,
she wants to let her followers in, and she knows
that it's a lucrative time for her to do so
because everyone is on breakup Watch. Yeah, but I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Think that that's how she's thinking.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I don't think she's thinking, oh, I'm going to be
lucrative with how I tell people about my breakup. They've
got really Yes, it's not like she's been doing more
paid promotions or anything. I've got two kids involved. I
think she's just being mindful because of the children, the
fact that this was a long term, like.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
They were both in gag. Well, that's why I'm saying that.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Obviously, I don't want to go into the nitty gritty
of what went down by posting a breakup video. They
want to be respectful of one another and their situation
with their kids. But it is quite interesting if you
don't want people to know these things, then just don't
post anything about it. I think that obviously. I mean,
Chloe's got to now move on with her life. She
no longer has an active web brand, so a perfect
job for her would be influencing. Its something that she

(02:02):
can do with two young children, So why not open
up about a few little things that don't impact things
too much. Well, at the start of the year, she
launched that sub stack, and we haven't heard much about that.
I think she'll probably just get more into influencing and
paid promotion. She doesn't do a hell of a lot
of them on her page at the moment. I think
the reality is that she will open up at some point,
but maybe when she feels like she can like.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
More times passed. Yeah, Like this is obviously.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
A huge thing for her, So maybe she figures everybody
knows that we've split up, Like she's seen the headlines,
She's maybe listened to outspoken, she knows people.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
I think I'm just dozing, but I'm just saying she.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Knows that people are aware that they have broken up,
and she doesn't probably feel that she's in the right
head space to be talking about it right now. I reckon,
we're going to see her as an Elite eleven Ambassadors
soon because recently, well because Tammy Hembro's active wear lyon
SASKI recently shut down, She's now jumped on board as
their ambassador, and it's really weird to see her in

(02:57):
the clothes. They know that Chloe zep obviously has an
engaged following of people who love active where as well.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I think she'll be the next ambassador.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I think they would have spent all their budget with
Tammy though, Like I think, if you're going to pick
one big influencer, and do you know what, if I
was them, I probably would have picked Chloe over Tammy.
I think Tammy's more controversial at this point. Getting back
to this move, it turns out it didn't run completely smoothly.
So Chloe revealed that she came across a snake and no,
it wasn't Artie's pet snake. It was actually a snake
in the wild and she tried to like shoe it

(03:27):
away and got herself bitten. God, just what you need
when you're moving out your X and you've got two
young kids with me, to be bitten by a snake.
Like God, I've got to stop saying kicking the dick.
But that would be the ultimate kick in the dick.
When you're trying to move on with your.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Life, stop trying to make kick to the dick happen.
I think it's already has kick in the dick from
the person that says it all the time, it's in
not to I think it has happened. People enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Australian influenza Lily J has been accused of using AI
to allegedly fake charity work. The claims come after ABC
News Verify published an investigation into her foundation's social media content. Now,
before we get into the allegation's, Kate, can you tell
us who Lily J is?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Well, her real name.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Is Lily Jay Hinson and she is a thirty one
year old Australian who grew up on the Sunshine Coast. Now,
over the last couple of years, she has been documenting
her conversion to Islam on Instagram, and in doing so,
she has gained over three million followers. Now, she often
appears on camera wearing her jab with her blonde hair
poking out, and she is very enthusiastic when she discusses

(04:32):
her Islamic beliefs. Recently, she set up a foundation called
the Lily J Foundation, which also gained a large.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Following online now.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
According to the foundation's website, its mission is to provide
rapid humanitarian aid to people affected by war, poverty, and
disasters around the world. It also describes itself as a
next generation social enterprise and high speed humanitarian logistics firm rather.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Than a registered charity.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Now, Lily's move into Islamic influencing is a pretty big
pivot from the past content that she used to share.
So previously she worked as a beleste dancer and performed
at the Moulin Rouge. She also tried to break into
the music industry, so she has released a debut single
and a music video which was called Renovate. It's pretty
wild when you scroll back and have a look at
her old content, because there's photos of her, you know,

(05:21):
on these tropical holidays wearing bikinis like any travel influencer
would have back at that time.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Now, let's get into the video at the center of
this investigation.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
So it showed Lily at an orphanage in Uganda, and
in the vision she announced that the orphanage is now open,
clearly presenting it as one of the Foundation's humanitarian projects.
But it turns out that the investigation found that Lily
was actually AI generated. The ABC also could not independently

(05:51):
verify that the orphanage existed. Disturbingly, it also showed that
some of the children in the video were also AI generated,
as well as the foundations banners and logos. This is
someone who's paying for chat GPT shorty, yeah, she might membership.
Maybe it's the free version because obviously it was pretty
shit if the ABC has picked up on her and
this goes beyond this video, so ABC News Verify also

(06:15):
challenged the legitimacy of a humanitarian award that Lily claimed
to receive it who appears to have been created using
AI and Lily appears to be a founder of the
PR company who announced the award. Well, this goes really deep,
doesn't it? Like this is actually wild? Well, the foundation
is yet to publicly respond to the ABC's detailed questions. However,

(06:38):
upon receiving them, they made several changes to their marketing,
so the option to donate from their Australian website was removed. However, interestingly,
you can still donate via their international website. They've also
gone and removed website pages which featured material that the
ABC questioned, as well as the video at the Orphanage

(07:00):
opening among other videos.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
So they've gone and done a full.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Cult dirty delete in saying that though I had to
look at Lily's page and the majority of her content
still remains on her social media accounts. This story obviously
made massive headlines because not only does it feature an
influencer who people love.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
To judge, but it also features AI.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
And I think AI is the new thing that everyone's
panicking about at the moment, and this story is obviously
particularly troubling because she's being accused of using it to
encourage people to make donations based on what they're saying
to her own charity, like where is the money going?
And it's really disturbing because what makes this situation even
more confusing is the ABC found that some videos appear

(07:38):
to have a mix of genuine footage with AI generated footage,
so it's very difficult for viewers to actually distinguish what
is real and what is fake. This is why we
need the public broadcaster, Like nobody does investigations quite like
the ABC. Isn't there a new feature though on Instagram
where if you have aied something or even slightly edited something,

(07:59):
it will pop up and pointed out to filter. That's
like a disclaimer there is, but I think because I mean,
I think Molly May's birth announcement came up with an
AI disclaimer because it was black and white, like I think,
because it's tipped off so easily by a filter or something,
I think people easily look over. I mean, it's crazy
to think the impact that AI is set to have

(08:21):
on influence of culture moving forward, because I mean, only
a few years ago we thought that face tune and
filters were really bad. But this whole new level people
can actually generate entire people events and experiences. It's disturbing
as well because obviously, in this case, this person is
using it for bad. Can't we just use AI for good?
Like can't somebody invent an avatar of me to appear

(08:41):
in teams meetings?

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Can use it for good? Please?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
On a serious level, though, what Lily is accused of
doing is fraud, and it's incredibly disturbing when you do
look at how she pivoted her content to be something
that I deem is quite lucrative. It's this blonde young
woman who doing this humanitarian work. We all know, particularly
on TikTok that I don't say do good, but videos

(09:05):
of people doing good gets a lot of engagement. And
it seems pretty clear that she's always wanted to make
a name for herself on social media and income for herself.
So she's slot, oh, what can I make the most
money from? And, as I've said, bizarre pivot though just
to get yeah, it was worked for a house. I
mean the fact that she's attracted three million followers and
in a very short amount of time for posting this

(09:28):
Islamic content. The sad reality is even though the ABC
has done this big investigation into her, she's still brazenly
continuing to do what she's done. I mean, she might
have tweaked a few website pages, but most of her
followers wouldn't have seen the story they and they won't
probably change the way that they donate. And it makes
me think, what can we do to prevent this type

(09:48):
of behavior? I mean, you've spoken about how Instagram has
these disclaimers, but our audience is now going to start
demanding more proof of influences. And I don't mean just
for charity work, but I mean with everything, like how
can we trust anything we see mine At this point,
A lot of people think that it's just the older
generation that's getting tricked by AI. But I saw this
video and there was nothing that really stood out to

(10:08):
me that this was fake. Because AI is getting so good.
And that's the scary part that how many of us
are going to be fooled in the future.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Think of all the dating scams.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
I mean, the fact that the ABC had to run
it through special software to verify the fact that this
was AI generated.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
If I was a legitimate charity.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Operating in Australia now I'd be very nervous for any
marketing that I was doing because, as we've said, I
think that now people are on high alert of any
scam surrounding charities. I wonder if a lot of those
charities have seen a decline in people wanting to donate
to them purely for that reason, because they don't believe
that it's real. I mean, these types of videos are
clearly going to damage trust and charity creators. I mean,

(10:47):
moving forward, they're going to have to actually provide proof
of what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
From watching it, I felt like the vibe was off,
like there was as if there was some like underlying
thing going on, Like.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
No, not as far as I'm con.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Matt Szakowski's tell all interview about his marriage breakdown to
Tammy Hembro has finally dropped.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Almost a year to the day they.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Announced their breakup, the former Love Islander sat down with
a Daily Mail journalist to dish the dirt in the
publication's newest video podcast, called The Debrief. I've got to say,
this whole thing has really thrown me because a day
before the interview dropped, Matt teased the episode in a
joint post with The Daily Mail and they jumped on

(11:29):
board the whole Netflix doco TikTok Trend, and they mocked
him up sitting down for this tell all interview, except
he actually was. Now in the vision, he sat down
on a seat in front of a podcast microphone and
played up to the camera alongside the caption preparing for
my exclusive sit down because we need to settle some rumors. See,
I didn't even get that that was them attempting to

(11:49):
do that TikTok trend.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Like it didn't land. I mean, I was like, oh yes,
oh my god, spill your gut.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
The way this reel played out was a real shame
because I don't think it was indicative of what Matt
actually said in the interview of anything.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
He really held back and was quite respectful.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
But if you hadn't heard the interview, you'd be thinking, Oh,
this guy's thirsty for attention.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
He's going to spill his guts about his ex wife like.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
It didn't paint him in the best light, even though
I think moving forward from the breakup, he's actually been
incredibly respectful and his PR team have played it really well. Yeah,
particularly when the majority of people who watch the real
probably won't tune into the fifty two minute episode. I
think the thing that confused me the most out of
all of this, though, is I didn't actually realize The
Daily Mail had their own podcast, and it turns out

(12:32):
that's because the episode with Matt was their pilot episode.
So I mean, there's a good way to launch, isn't it,
Because everyone has been wanting to get that exclusive interview
with Matt.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
I mean, he did a.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Few radio interviews, but no one has seemed to have
actually gotten information out of him.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
And I want to talk.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
About this podcast because it's hosted by journalists Savannah Young
and It's not The Daily Mail's first go at podcasting,
so earlier this year they debuted A Math's Unleashed podcast
and it ended up notching up about one point five
million views on YouTube, so obviously say they've seen that
this is a lucrative market for them to get into.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Now, according to the.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Debriefs bio, each week, Savannah will be sitting down with
the biggest names in entertainment, social media and pop culture
to unpack the headlines, the rumors and the stories everyone
is talking about. I'm interested to see who else they're
going to get on board, because there are a lot
of a listers and influencers who hate The Daily Mail
and won't really be wanting to open up. I found

(13:26):
it a really interesting choice by Matt to pick The
Daily Mail's podcast, because he of course has his own
podcasts that he could have opened up on, and for
him to actually pick the publication that, as you said,
is not well respected by celebrities and public figures, it
tells me two things. The first is he's clearly formed
a relationship with The Daily Mail and their journalists over

(13:46):
the last couple of years to have enough trust in
them to let them do it.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Secondly, it signals that this.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Was a very deliberate attempt to share his side of
the story, because you can hardly do an interview with
The Daily Mail's podcast and then claim, oh, I didn't
know that they were going to ask me. It's also
interesting timing because I would say his relevance in regards
to him and Tammy's relationship is running out of time
for him to speak on it. Well, particularly because she's
got a new boyfriend. I mean, it's interesting. It came

(14:13):
right off the back of Tammy speaking out Emily Hembrow's
podcast about Matt and also the fact that they've nearly
been broken up with for over a year. Well, the
fact that you said, Kay, obviously he has some sort
of relationship or connection with this journalist, it makes it
sound like maybe he's been feeding stories off the record.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Well.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
The strangest thing is Savannah was actually the journalist that
was on site at his wedding to report on it.
So Gma asked him about the drones that they flew
over the ceremony. She's like, oh, did you know that
we were there? And he's like, well, we got it
tipped off, but we actually thought it was our own drone. So, Kate,
you and Savannah, maybe you should have a Tammy hembro
off in terms of how much information. So a lot

(14:51):
of people were saying, though, why was Matt not on outspoken? Well,
I think that's where the exclusive interview should have come first.
I mean, when I was listening to his interview with Savannah,
I was like, oh, she seems to know her stuff,
because she was like, oh you remember this, to remember that,
and he's like, oh, I actually don't recall that, Like
she seems to know more than him Dan. But then
some of her facts were actually incorrect, and I was like, see, yeah,

(15:11):
we had this conversation. I think you'd only listen to
a portion of it and you're like, oh, she knew
her shit. I was like, I knew my shit. I
should have done it, as you said, I did a
PhD in Tammy and Matt's relationship, but we extensively covered
it in our deep dive, and as you said, there
were a few gaps in knowledge. Firstly, she thought their
engagement happened six months into their relationship. No, it was three.
To her credit, she really didn't hold back in this interview.

(15:33):
I'd say eighty percent of the fifty two minutes was
about Tammy and Matt's relationship. Well, that's what I liked,
because he was kind of not giving much back, like
he would give a sort of nothing response and she
would go back at him, which we're not used to
hearing because so often we've heard Tammy on podcasts which
are literally run by her own influence of friends or
family who they don't do any hard questioning. And it

(15:54):
was actually refreshing to hear a journalist interviewing someone and
being like, hold on.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
What do you mean by that?

Speaker 2 (15:58):
I wouldn't have minded hearing Megan Stetto interviews quote good too. Yeah,
I mean, I think that's one of the positives of
him going on this podcast, because if he did it
on his own podcast, you wouldn't have had that experience.
I noticed that Savannah used a very known journalistic technique
to try and butter mat up in the first couple
of minutes, so I was like, oh God, like this
is boring because she was asking him about his movie reviews,

(16:21):
but clearly she was trying to make him feel comfortable
to actually, you know, ask some of.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
The harder hitting question.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Let's not give those tactics away because if we end
up interviewing Matt at some point, we are going to
be we are do you know what? I think that
whole movie stuff is really sweet, and I think he
has been clearly schooled by his PR team about what
type of other content he should be posting, because his
reels and tiktoks are actually, for want of a better phrase,

(16:47):
popping off.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
So what Amy is doing here?

Speaker 2 (16:49):
She is concerned that Matt is going to listen to
this podcast and trying to butter him up.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Jast said so many times on this podcast that I
am one per team matt Kowski.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
The thing is, I think also it's quite clear that
he has spoken to his management team and they've gone
through what he is and is not going to say yeah,
because he was quite strong on saying so I'm not
going to go into that. He really was trying to
portray himself as the nice guy. And if you come
across and you knew and if you knew what he
could have said, Jesus like, I mean, we've been referring

(17:21):
to this interview as a tell all, but let's be honest,
it was a little bit of a letdown for those
who want to know the juicy Teatowels because ultimately, as
you said, so, he remained pretty respectful to Tammy and
her family, and he stuck to the usual line of
messaging that we've heard over the last year, that you know,
he wanted to protect his mental health and he's keeping
the breakup private out of respect. There were also a
lot of references to healing and being over the situation.

(17:44):
He said quite a number of times that he hasn't
thought about the situation for a long time.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Let's take a listen.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
At the end of the day, there's there is just
two people that know what happened. Do they have different
perspectives on it? Sure? Am I going to sit here
and like argue my point and like, you know, sling
so then she can sling it back. No, I've come
past that. Like I mean, as soon as I left
the relationship, I went straight to therapy and I found

(18:13):
a lot of comfort in doing that, and I there
spoke about it, and I mean I came over like
months of therapy, I came to like a realization that
leaving was the best decision I could have made for
myself and my own mental health.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah, I was gonna say it was quite funny because
there are a number of times where Savannah would bring
up this really petty shit, like she's like, so, do
you realize that she posted on your birthday this video
of her and Grace and he's like, oh, sorry, I'm
not really interested in her life anymore. And I don't
actually follow her and I don't really care.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
I mean, she did push him a little bit.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
She asked flat out who was the one that made
the final decision to leave the marriage, and he confirmed
it was him that actually packed up his stuff and left.
He said, because it was a marriage, it wasn't just
like a flat out I'm never coming back. He did
return to the Gold Coast a couple of times to
try and make at work, but ultimately he said he
knew it was never going to work.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
We've got to jump into what was actually near that
we learned.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
So we did find out that Matt still has his
tattoos dedicated to multiple x'es. May I add on him, yeah,
because a lot of people thought that the tattoo dedicated
to his ex Jen, who was the one he was
with before Tammy, had been removed because he of course
did that paid partnership with a numbing cream brand helmet,
wasn't it Yeah, And he filmed himself getting his first
laser removal session. It turns out that session was actually

(19:29):
so painful. He instead got the tattoo filled in in black.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
So you're kidding me that numb it doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
So instead of a love heart with Jen written inside
of it, it's now just a black heart.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
I wonder how numb it feels well.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
He also confirmed that he still has his Tammy tattoo
on his hip. He said he hasn't really found the
time to go and get it removed yet. He also
still has his wedding anniversary date tattooed on his knee,
which he said does make for awkward conversation. He cracked
me up because when Savannah was asking about the wedding,
he actually tried to pull his jeanes up so he
could see the date and was like, oh, yep, it
was the twenty third action God. I mean, it seems

(20:05):
like he might not even remove some of these ex's
names on his ass. He seems to have a bit
of a plan. Let's throw to what he said.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
I wanted to get all my exes in love hearts
on my arse and then get like a crack through
them all. But then Anna did say, like, when you
meet your person, they're not going to like that. But
I said, if they are my person, they'll understand my
humor and they'll understand it.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Oh yeah, I see that.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Do you know what I mean? That's true? But I think, yeah,
I don't think many women would appreciate a guy with
all these ex'es crack yeah on them.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Can you imagine dating a guy who actually had these
tattoos on his ass? Like, I think you'd have to
have a certain type of humor.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Yeah, find this buddy.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Again, Maybe that's his person. I mean, it almost looks
like a bit of a body count, doesn't it. I
kind of agreed with Anna's comments that she said, you know,
when you meet your person, they're not going to like that.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
No, definitely not. It's a constant reminder.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
I love that he's got Anna in his life, though,
because he seems to be that friend who actually points
him in the right direction. About ten years ago, when
I was working as a news reporter, I did a
story about the boom in tattoo removal and there was
one guy who'd gone in and he was wanting to
get his girlfriend's name removed off his neck, and the
tattoo artist had convinced him, no, no, don't worry about removal.

(21:18):
We can actually just do a cover. And they just
got a stamp over it which said cunt and then
he ended up for Matt and then he ended up
having to get it like lasered. Wait, so you included
that in your story. No, that was just a photo
example that this laser person had. Let's move on to
the tidbits we found out about Tammy and Matt's wedding.

(21:38):
So Matt firstly debunked the rumor that he and Tammy
weren't legally married, so he confirmed he signed the papers.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
I was pretty surprised because I.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Thought Savannah might have actually pushed Matt to talk about
the prenup at this point, but there was no mention
of it. I mean, the Daily Mail extensively covered that
story like we did. The bit that I loved the
most was hearing that he and Tammy actually decided to
initially elope after watching the episode of Friends where Ross
and Rachel get married in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Like I was like, that is fucking iconic.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
It turns out they even had a courthouse wedding date
booked but his co host Anna encouraged him to get
Tammy a promise ring instead and to propose when they
went on holiday in the Maldives again the Voice of Reason.
How funny was it when Matt was asked about having
his wedding in Vogue and you could tell he was
really chuffed about it because he's like, yeah, it was
pretty cool. I mean, he ended up saying like, look,

(22:30):
it's not really about the group. Well, in saying that, that
actually made him come across as genuine, because I mean,
to be truthful, who wouldn't be a bit star struck
having their wedding in Vogue If he was like, oh no,
it didn't bother me, Like, you'd just.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Be like bullshit.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Well, Savannah really tried to get it out of Matt
how this whole Vogue deal came to be, and he
claimed he couldn't remember, and maybe it was the wedding planner,
but I felt like he could remember and he just
didn't want to say I actually don't think he could
because I think a lot of the time men aren't
really involved in the wedding process. In saying that, wasn't
Tammy saying that he was super keen.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Yeah, planning the wedding.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
So yeah, maybe maybe her team, yeah did it. It's
a Vogue curse, isn't it as well? Yeah, I'm surprised
she didn't ask him about that. I mean, I suppose
you don't want to admit that you reached out to them.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
You kind of want to like, oh, no, the wedding
was so big that we were approached.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
It was also shocked that Savannah didn't ask about was
the incident at their Hucks party where they captured that video,
was their photos of them basically having an argument in
the carpet that was all connected to the prenup. That's
why I was surprised that wasn't brought up.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Maybe that was like something that the management company, they
probably had a list of things.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
We're not touching on this, this, this, and this, because
I think there's probably.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Broader stories to all of that. There was not. There
was heaps that wasn't touched on.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
No.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
I mean, we've heard Matt obviously talk about his mum
a lot, like he actually moved in with his mum
after the breakup, and she's been a very supportive person
in his life, but we actually haven't heard him mention
how influential.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
He's dad was in all of this.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
So it turns out it was Matt's dad who flagged
to him how different he seemed.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Moving to the Gold Coast. So his dad used to pick.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Him up from the airport and go, wow, there's such
a change with you when you get in the car
to when I drop you off after you've actually seen
all your family and friends. And he said that it
was actually a tearful phone call from his dad which
made him think, Okay, I've actually got to leave Tammy now,
like this is enough. Yeah, and Matt was saying, look,
my dad's not really an emotional person, so the fact
it was coming from him meant a lot to him. Now.

(24:25):
Savannah also brought up the now infamous podcast where Tammy's
sisters Emily and Amy unleashed on Matt on his own podcast.
Again she thought it was their podcast. I'm like, no,
it was on his podcast.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Now.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
As a refresher, let's go down memory lane.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
I just hope you know marriage is a serious thing.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
Yeah, it is.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
Actually a serious thing, And like, I hope you don't
make any mistakes, Like I really pray and hope that
you don't do anything to hurt Tammy.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
I'm not going to hurt Tammy. I have no intention
of hurting Tammy.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I was a bit surprised to hear Matt defending Emily
and Amy. I thought he might sort of throw a
few couple of comments their way, But in saying that,
I think that he really is trying to be above
the situation.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
He actually said that the podcast.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Interview was all perceived in the wrong way and it
didn't play out in the way they expected.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Let's take a listen to what he said.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
Okay, that podcast we did not get received the way
as we thought we I've spoken to my producers and
managers about that. We wanted it to be like controversial,
but we think that everyone just saw it a little
bit different from how we wanted it.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
From watching it, I felt like the vibe was off,
like there was as if there was some like underlying
thing going on, Like no.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Not as far as I'm concerned, Maybe I'm oblivious to it.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Did anyone else notice he kept covering his mouth and
touching his mustache when he got awkward, Like I feel
like it was this defense mechanism to put a barrier
between him and the journalist.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
I actually own listen to this. I didn't see.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
I thought stood down, But yeah, it would be interesting
to pick up on his body language like that. I
wonder how they thought that that was going to be
perceived that interview, you know what I mean that that
was as you touched on cake. That was Matt and
Adda's interview. So did they end up listening back and thinking.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Oh, yeah, that that was fine.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
It's hard when you've got banter between siblings, like you
know sometimes if we record something and we've been a
bit snappy, you.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Think that's true. See a bit of funny.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
The fact that they said, look, we wanted it to
be controversial, I found interesting. So it's like, well, you
obviously knew putting this out there was going to create conversations.
So that's Tammy's playbook. She loves controversy. It gets her
more engagement, more followers.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
She never shies away from it.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
But why would you want it out there that your
sisters didn't like your new husband that everyone was already questioning.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
It's kind of like the Kardashians.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
I feel like they've been Australia's version of the Kardashians
for years now, and they would always play off on
how everyone hated Courtney's boyfriend Scott and how there was
always a bit of banter about that. The awkward thing
is Matt clearly took the moral high ground when talking
about Tammy's sisters, but Emily did not. So when The
Daily Mail dropped their teaser, she commented under the video

(27:07):
and wrote, hope he talks about how he cheated messaging
girls on Insta Now she ended up deleting the comment. Well,
it's funny because the Daily Mail picked up on it
and they ran with this headline Tammy Hembro's sister Emily
shamefully deletes comments slamming Matt Zakowski. So, I mean, it's
quite clear that they're taking Matt's heide and all of this.
It's having him on the show. And Emily actually commented

(27:27):
under that post saying Matt asked me to and we
are friends, so I respect that with a love heart.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
We are friends. You literally just wrote on the teasers
saying he's a cheater.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Also, they slammed him on Emily's podcast recently saying what
a dirt Baggie was, and you know, referring that he
cheated at that Grand Prix incident or talking about Matt
Sakowski's interesting friends, he was asked about his friendship with
Tammy's former fiance Matt Paul, and he said that Matt
Paul is a great bloke and they still keep in touch.

(27:58):
He also confirmed he went to Matt for advice after
his break up.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Let's take a listen, I owe him a lot. Let's
put it that whole way, and I've said that to him.
He was very because I couldn't like the whole like everything,
it was a whirl wind, and he just Yeah, he
spoke to me and he gave me a lot of
advice and I was very grateful for him, and he
didn't need to. There was no need for him to
do that for me, and he took a lot of time,

(28:24):
and yeah, he was very helpful.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
I wonder if he got permission from Matt Paul to
open up about their unusual relationship. Surely their bromance. I
doubt Matt Paul would have an issue with it. He's
quite an open book on social media. Yeah, But the
awkward thing is that Matt has a daughter with Tammy,
so it makes it very different, like he might not
want her knowing the ins and outs of his relationship

(28:47):
with her ex husband, who she clearly has a huge
issue with. Well, he's obviously got to tread carefully because
he's got to continue having a relationship with Tammy whilst
they're co parenting. Well. Matt Sakowski actually mentioned in this
interview that when he speaks to Matt Paul, he asked
him or how's Posy going, because he, of course was
her stepfather, and that led Savannah to say, well, do

(29:07):
you miss Tammy's kids?

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Let's take a listen to what he said.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Yeah, I do, of course I do. That was one
of the hardest things it was about leaving. I would
cry like once a day about that for like three
or four months afterwards.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Well it must have been hard after you know, being
a step dad for this period of time to basically
go from you know, seeing them and.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Yeah, that was hard. I wrote I've written them or
I don't know it wrote. I wrote them that many letters.
I'm just explaining stuff. I never seen any of them.
That was part of my healing I did in therapy
in that I've a lot of letters I just never
sent because I don't know what they're being told, so
I wouldn't be fair to them.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
This was new information to me.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
I mean, when they initially broke up, Matt did say that,
you know, he wanted to be respectful to Tammy because
there are children involved, and expected the kids. But this
is the first time I've really heard him open up
about his feelings towards Saskir and Wolf and Poe and
how you know, being a stepfather was a big role
to him. And it was really interesting also to hear

(30:14):
him say that he doesn't know how he's been portrayed
to them, like he feels like if he needs to
be portrayed as the bad guy for them to move on,
he's okay with it. Well, he was originally slammed around
the wording of his announcement when he referenced the children,
but I mean, it seems like he genuinely does care
about them. One thing that stood out to me is
that Matt Sakowski must be quite sentimental because he has

(30:35):
held onto the corks that he collected over his and
Tammy's relationship. So when they had officially been together for
a year, he presented Tammy with all of the corks
that they'd had from different events that they had champagne
at and he had dated every single one of them.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
I thought that was actually pretty cute. It's very sweet.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
But I would have thought that those corks would be
long gone in the bin, they'd be at the dump
right now. Well, so when he moved back to Melbour
and to live with his mum, basically he filled up
her shed with all of his sentimentmental stuff from the
Gold Coast, including the corks. And he actually told Savannah
that he went through all of the old things and
he was working out what to put in the old
Salvos being and what to keep, and he ended up saying,

(31:15):
I actually can't throw this out.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
He was too sentimental. Sell them on eBay of the corks,
I mean.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
He also kept his wedding vows and a couple of
photos of the couple together. He also said that he
and Tammy bought these big key chains when they were traveling,
and he actually put it in the Salvos bag but
took it back out. Can you imagine going to your
local Salvos and.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Finding these things.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
I remember when neighbors wrapped up filming for the first time,
someone shared on social media that their local Vinni's had
all of the old props.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
So there were like.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Wallets that had different characters ID cards in it. They
had report cards from Erinsborough High It was crazy.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
I was like, I so want to get down there
and kept for some kind of light museum, especially.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Because neighbors ended up coming back quite a few times.
I probably, oh, fuck, we need this again. Historical They've
got like Kylie Minogue's characters, like wedding certificate down there. Now,
Savannah was really doing the lord's work because she went
there in asking Matt what he thought about not only
Bailey Smith, but also Tammy's new boyfriend Grace.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
And so when it came to Bailey Smith, she asked.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Him, like, how did it feel Tammy moving on so
quickly after their breakup?

Speaker 1 (32:21):
This is what he said.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
At the time. I was like, whoa, because I was
doing my own sort of like healing path and it
did not. It did not what's the word involve anyone else?
Do you know what I mean? So I was a
bit taken back, and especially from like like one of
a couple of our last messages to each other. And
I was just a bit taken back. But like now
she can do whatever she wants, Like I really, I'm

(32:44):
so but I feel.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Like that comment's a bit loaded, is Matt referring that
Tammy was trying to beg him back in their last
text message exchange, Because during the interview, Savannah.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Kept asking like, also, so what was your last message
to Tammy? And he said, oh, I can't remember. There
was a lot of I can't remembers going on. What
are clearly good?

Speaker 2 (33:02):
How disrespectful for fere like I know he's already doing
a bit of a teller or but how disrespectful to
bring out your phone and start reading messages like there's
oh yeah, I mean I definitely wouldn't recommend him doing that,
But I wonder that's what makes me think that he
clearly was paid for this.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
I mean, you think about how much the Daily Mail
pay for the staged pap walks. Well, if yeah, if
I was him, i'd want to be paid for that.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
And clearly that's why she thinks I was acceptable to
ask him, well, what was your last text message? Because
they're probably paying him a considerable amount of money. I
wonder if he got more money if he agreed to
answer certain questions, because it was really awkward when she
asked him what his advice would be to Tammy's new
boyfriend Grayson, and he said, oh, block out the noise
and just focus on each other and love each other.
It's like, it's so weird for your ex husband to

(33:44):
be giving your new boyfriend relationship. Clearly, that's a PR response,
Like if he was really saying what he thought, he'd
probably say run.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Well, that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Savannah was obviously hoping for him to say something controversial
like you know, look after yourself made or gear up
for this, but he was like, no, I'm to school her.
This is PR one. Oh one, I'm going to give
a politician's response and say love each other and be
there for it. Doesn't mean that It was the same
when he was asked if he wanted to clear up
any of the like cheating rumors and if he had

(34:12):
been dating other people, and he said, basically, there's nothing
I need to clear up. I know what's true. My
friends and family do. I think if you're at home
and hearing stuff, you know what's true. So I actually
think that was the best response because if he had
gone into bat and brought up all of that Grand
Prix cheating rumors, it would have just muddied the water
a bit. Like I think that was a really good

(34:33):
response and given the Daily Mail more fodder to write about,
because clearly what they're doing is if they've paid for
this interview, they're then turning lots of different parts of
this interview, this fifty two minute sit down, they're turning
that into more articles. So they would have created a
whole article about the Grand Prix scandal, again off the
back of anything that he said. I do wonder how
this episode actually performed for The Daily Mail because they

(34:56):
had a video component on YouTube which has hit sixteen
thousan downloads, which is actually very strong for a first
episode of a podcast on YouTube. We don't know what
the numbers were on Spotify and Apple. I mean, I
think it was a pretty successful podcast launch for them. Look,
this isn't sour great because obviously we would have loved
to have Matt on the podcast first giving us these tidbits.

(35:17):
But I actually think he made the wrong decision going
with The Daily Mail. Like if I was his publicist,
I would have advised him to open up going outspoken
well obviously number one, to go on outspoken Well. In reality,
I would have said that, but number two, you know,
some other good options would have been No Filter, where
he could have opened up more about his mental health
and the difficulties that he faced in a sort of

(35:37):
a serious.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Tone, like why would you open up?

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Maybe, male who have scrounged around in your relationship, they
probably cause a lot, I mean a lot of trouble. Maybe,
But maybe No Filter didn't want him on because there
was a lot of backlash when Inherited had him on. Well,
the reality is that the Daily Mail's audience are also
the people who are most invested in his story. I mean,
the majority of fees I saw about the interview was

(36:01):
actually very positive towards Matt. On the promotional reel, someone wrote,
he's so respectful and she always does little digs at him.
Someone else said he deserves so much love from a
soulful woman. He is on the right path. Goodness comes
to those who wait. Another person said he's such a
babe in this podcast brought that out. That's a good human.
Someone else said total respect for Matt. This show's maturity.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Do we reckon that?

Speaker 2 (36:22):
We're going to see Tammy doing a tell all on
another podcast that's not her Sisters soon because of this. No.
I would have loved to see her face when that
real popped up. I wonder if that sort of threw
into a bit of a panic. She's like, oh my god,
what was he going to say about me?

Speaker 1 (36:37):
The thing is, at the end of the day, he
really didn't say any new information. That was a bit disappointed.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
What everyone wants to know is what were the issues
that led to you mentally struggling and why did you
break up? And he didn't answer either of those. So
she did ask about the tennis. Actually, I have to
say she asked about the infamous Aussie Open incident and
he didn't really say much.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
No.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
It was funny because he was like, oh, yeah, that
sounds familiar, Like it's clear that he's tried really to
actually block these things out. Well, on that note, I
think that is all we have time for today. Thank
you so much for joining us for this episode.
