Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
Kate Torba, I'm Amy Torver, and I'm Sophie Torba. And
coming up on today's show, Adam Hydees, Bond's campaign turns
political and Olivia Mather's shock breakup. The first Shameless Media

(00:23):
has unwittingly sparked a man hunt to unmask the A
list celebrity who blocked them on Instagram. On Monday's episode,
Michelle Andrews and Zara McDonald revealed that a celebrity who
they've recently spoken about on the show went on a
savage blocking spree. So not only did this celebrity block
the Shameless Podcasts Instagram account, but also Zara and Michelle's

(00:46):
accounts and every single member of their team, including their
Much Love producer Eilish Gil. Let's take a listen to
some of what they said. The third time, when you
started staring down the back of me.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I've saved this all morning.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
I knew I actually we don't usually talk about what
these pre dinnerments are going to be, but I knew
that this is what it was going to be.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
What did you say? You've had me blocked again.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Your actions, your actions, I have not had a single
involvement in this particular thing. Your sole actions, actually, Gill
you're involved in this as well.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Your actions, well you're probably blocked have.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Led to me being blocked. And listeners, I'll let you know.
This is not the first time Sara McDonald has gone
to be blocked. It's the third time Sarah MacDonald's got
to be blocked eight years.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
I don't hang time. The fact that this celebrity has
blocked every member of the Shameless team. It makes it
seem so personal. And I know what it feels like
because this has happened to us on several occasions. And
when you realize that your own personal account is blocked,
and that the person's actually gone and sought you out,
looked at your personal page and then gone block, you

(01:54):
actually feel like a horrible person. You feel embarrassed. It's
so embarrassing. What makes it more embarrassing, though, is that
this isn't just some bog standard there you go, So
if you wanted me to say that more, this isn't
some bog standard influencer, This isn't a list celebrity Yeah,
there's been some confusion. A lot of people thought that
they were talking about an influencer, but no, this sounds
like someone who's walking the red carpet of the Golden Globes,

(02:17):
Like this is big time. And as you heard, Michelle
feels like her blocking was quite unwarranted because she felt
like she was caught in the crossfire between something that
Zara and Gil have said on the show. And I
feel for her because there's times where one of us
will go hard on an influencer and I'll be a
fan of said influencer and I'll end up blocked, and
I'm like, I didn't even fucking say anything about that.

(02:38):
This happened recently. I wasn't in one of the episodes
and you guys talked about Josh from Math's Funny and
I'm a big fan of his I love him. And
I was listening to the episode and you were sort
of giving it to him, and I was like, oh,
I wasn't. I loved Josh, And then he kindly graciously
messaged us and I was like, oh my god, and
he spoke about us in such a beautiful way on
his podcast, So he didn't he was so nice getting

(03:02):
back to Shameless. I really felt bizarre because she described
the moment that she realized that she was blocked. So
she admitted that she went to have a stalk of
the celebrity in question because they'd been popping up in
the media quite a bit, and when she searched for
their name, nothing came up. And initially she was like, oh,
maybe they've deleted their account or they've deactivated it. So

(03:23):
she hopped in the Shameless Instagram account and she couldn't
see it as well, and then she was like, fuck, oh,
check if Michelle can see them. Michelle also could not
see the account, so she's like, oh my god, we're
definitely blocked. They actually did a live check on air,
so their producer Gil was like, oh my god, can
I see this person? She also couldn't see it. And
also their other employee, Div could not see this celebrity

(03:46):
as well. So what was Div's involvement in the whole thing? Like,
how did the celebrity know to block her too?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
They must have.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Literally jumped on Shameless's website and been like, who is
every single person that has some sort of profile that
works here? I'm getting rid of them. All their producers
anyone who works for them's gone. I'm guessing maybe some
of those producers had something to do with setting up
different Shameless Instagram podcast accounts, because when you go to
block a page, you are given the option to block
just the account or the account and all other accounts

(04:15):
associated with it. Yeah, so when we've been blocked, sometimes
I'm like, oh, maybe the influencer hasn't actually gone over
to look at my personal account and I've just been
caught in the crossfire because of the same connection to
Outspoken I see. I've always been confused about that because
I thought it was like the based on the IP
that you set the account up on or something like.
It's all very technical. But regardless of what's happened here,

(04:38):
it's clear that this celebrity was incredibly unhappy with what
was said about them. I feel like recently Shameless haven't
been holding back, which I really love. They've actually been
sharing more of their opinions on topics, and clearly that's
ruffled some feathers. I wonder if this will make them
step back again because they don't want to be blocked
by anyone else. I hope not, because I feel like
one of the reasons they stop talking about Ossie influence

(05:00):
was because they wanted to people please and they didn't
want to look like they were bagging out people who
were in the same circle as them, because obviously when
their show became really popular, they started getting invited to
the same event. Well, they also interviewed a lot of
that crowd on their podcast too, And coming from personal experience,
it is really awkward when you've spoken about someone on

(05:20):
your podcast and then you have them on as a guest.
I mean, we had Indy Clinton on a couple of
years ago, and there was a bit of a joke
back and forth about what we'd said about her in
the past. She was a really good sport. But it
does make you feel a bit weird. You also feel
like a bit of a loser because they know that
you know so much about their life, you know what
I mean, You're just like, oh yeah. The awkward thing

(05:40):
for Michelle an Zara is they probably never expected this
celebrity to hear what they said about them, because there
is still this mindset that celebrities aren't real people. Well,
I think what makes it different now is TikTok. Because
their TikTok is so popular. I think a lot of
celebrities don't want to admit it, but their algorithm does
feed them up content of themselves, so maybe this is

(06:01):
how the celebrity came across it. Molly May has spoken
a lot on her docco and also on her YouTube
about how she sees all the content and all of
the comments, and how she hates it when her YouTube
videos get clipped up on TikTok. And it's funny because
when you search, like I know, when you search Sarah's
day on TikTok for a long time, it came up
with our TikTok clip about her, and I was like,

(06:23):
this is so awkward if she searched her own. Yeah, well,
the thing is. Michelle and Zara tried to keep things
quite vague on their podcast, but they did drop a
couple of bread crumbs for us. So they confirmed that
the blocker is very famous and has millions and millions
of followers. They also confirmed that the celebrity is female,

(06:44):
and Zara said she was really surprised by the block
as she didn't think she spoke ill of the person
and she really likes them. Michelle clearly disagrees with that,
because she was blaming Zara. That was Zara's fault, so
that she must have said something, you know, a little
bit on the nose. Well, they seem to be because
they're like which other celebrities have blocked usn't? We don't
know about. Look, we have been requested by a lot

(07:07):
of our listeners to put our detective hats on and
work this out. And you might be thinking, Sophie, you
have a young child. You don't have the time to
look into this. I do. I'm very petty. I mean
you should have known me when I was single, slash
was dating because I could find anyone. And I have
spent a considerable amount of time going into this, so
I think I have the answer for everyone.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
This is the same person that was keeping a tally
in her note section of how many times her ex
boyfriend had snapchatted, so she was able to work out
that he was messaging different girls, like this is next
level's talking ability. Yeah, I remember you were like, oh,
he's definitely snapchatting someone. I'm like, how do you know?
That's the very twenty fifteen thing. Look, it was a
long time ago now, Yeah, I know, but it's still embarrassing.

(07:49):
This seems fairly obvious to me, but it might not
be to those who have a life or who haven't
been blocked before. But I want to point out that
if someone blocks you, it means you can no longer
fire follow them and see their content, so they don't
show up in your following list anymore. So the way
I'm looking at this is it's very telling if both
Michelle and Zara, as well as their team don't follow

(08:12):
a big celebrity anymore, particularly one that Michelle is a
stand off. I'm saying that though Zara said that she
went and searched the celebrity to have a stalk, that
made me think that she didn't originally follow this person. No,
but the reason that Zara went to search for them
was because she's like, oh, I haven't seen them for
a while. Why isn't there stuff showing up for me? Now? Okay,

(08:33):
a lot of listeners have been guessing that this could
be Molly May. I can confirm Molly, who currently has
a newborn baby, does not have the time or is
she that petty to block every single member of the
Shameless Media team because Michelle is in fact still following her,
so it cannot be her. Can I throw uspanner in
the work, though, do we think it's the actual celebrity

(08:53):
that's done the blocking or their personal assistant, because if
it's a personal assistant, they've really gone the extra yarch
to think that it's a celebrity just for my own entertainment. Now,
other Shameless listeners were concerned that it was dual Lipa.
So both girls are huge fans, in particular Zara. Zara
even met her in the wild when the Shameless team
were over in the UK and approached her and said,

(09:15):
I really love you work. So people were like, oh
my god, how awful would it be if it was her?
Can confirm they're still following her, so it's not her.
Taylor Swift was another guest. I mean, do we really yeah,
do we really think that Taylor, who has admitted to
not even using Instagram and when the blocking occurred it
was the week of her wedding, do we think that

(09:36):
she's bothering to go on and block Shameless. I could
actually see that. I think she's very savvy online and
she always has you know, these burner accounts that she
follows fans in, and you know, she seems to have
a finger on the pulse about what's being said about
her online. Well, people are convinced that she's made up
of fake account following the wedding, so she can keep
up to date with what everyone's saying about her, and

(09:56):
she's dropped clues. God, I really hope not, because people
have been upse savage about the wedding online. But I
don't understand why people would think that Taylor would block
Michelle and Zara. I feel like they've never said anything
critical about her. No, they have, though, because I think
they were kind of critical of her weddings, saying, Oh,
there's no way she's going to get married in Madison
Square Gardens. That's tacky. Anyway, turns out it's not Taylor

(10:16):
because they're still following her. It's also not Blake Lively,
Alex Earl, or Hailey Bieber. They were other celebrities that
I thought it could potentially be. Some others thought maybe
again that it was a huge Aussie influencer, and they thought, oh,
maybe it's Tammy Hembro or Indy Clinton. Tammy and Indy
are still being followed by the girls. One celebrity I

(10:37):
really thought it could be was Ariana Grande. They did
a couple of episodes about her eating disorder. But gil
is still following her, so Michelle and Zara aunt so
I was like, oh my god, it must be her. No,
but Gil is following her still. What about Anne Hathaway?
One of the clips went viral where they were talking
about her potential cosmetic surgery. My top guess is actually Gomez.

(11:00):
So the reason I think it could be Selena is
it makes sense that Michelle would be so upset about
it because Selena is Taylor Swift Adjason being one of
her good friends, and neither Zara, Michelle or the Shameless
team are following her anymore. And I have quite a
few reasons why I think it's Selena. Firstly, Zara mentioned

(11:23):
that she went to look up the blocker because they
were recently in the zeitgeist. Now, last week, of course,
was Taylor Swift's wedding. Everyone was talking about it and
the car selfie that Selena Gomez uploaded ahead of the
rehearsal dinner. Now, I think that Zara heard about this
selfie and was like, why haven't I seen this? I
need to look into this for the podcast, and then

(11:43):
looked her up and was like, oh my god, why
can't I see her. Shameless also recently spoke about Selena's
husband Benny, So they spoke about this new podcast that
he released and how it went viral for the wrong reason,
and that is because everyone was talking about the fact
that he had really dirty feet that you could see
like he was sitting on a couch doing this podcast.

(12:05):
All people could talk about were his dirty feet and
also the fact that he paused mid podcast to lift
up his leg and his ass cheek to fart into
the microphone. Let's throw to what Shameless said about it.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
The bottom of Benny's feet, He's not wearing shoes, and
they're sort of on the couch, and they're quite dirty.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
These these these.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Are dirty, dirty, unanimous.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
I would say, like I can almost look at it
and I can almost taste No, Michelle, like they look
so dirty, like I can't.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
I didn't even want to talk about this.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
The count is quite nice too.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
He also farted on my speak on that.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Nothing to say.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
I want the best for Selina Gomez. She deserves love well.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I think they all do.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
And I wish Benny Blanco the best. But the idea
that you would lift your leg, which he does, and
his sort of ask shake and say catch this mic.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
And he farts into the mic, so like dirty feet
then farting on mic.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
It's just a little fuck.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
It's fally, I'm.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Kidding by resharing this on our podcast. Are we going
to get blocked by Selena Gomes as well? Oh? Potentially?
I mean, I'm you don't really like Selena Gomez, do you, Kate?
I'm adding more fuel to the fire because she's your
husband's celebrity crash. Look, it's not that I don't like her,
but I've never been a massive fan of her. And
you know, when your husband says, oh my god, I

(13:36):
love Selena Gomez, it does put you off the person
a little bit. I actually didn't realize that Selena Gomez
had so many followers. I just looked her up on Instagram.
She's got four hundred and four million followers. I mean,
how fucking offensive to be blocked by someone with that
many followers? What over a farm? Well, that plays into it,
doesn't it. The only thing that's planting a seed of

(13:57):
doubt in my mind that this could be Selena Gomes
is the fact that Michelle blamed Zara for the block.
Yet in this segment, Michelle was having a bit of
a laugh about it too. However, she did say that
she actually didn't want to talk about the topic, so
maybe there was a bit of an argument back and forth,
and Michelle was like, I don't want to be unfair
to Selena's husband. It's making more and more sense to

(14:17):
me that it is probably Selena because she's probably very
protective of her husband. I mean, she can probably take
negative feedback about herself, but when someone says something about
the person you love, it does really rile you up.
It's kind of like when Laura Byrne and Britt Hockley
from Life Uncut unfollowed us because we did a segment
about Clementine Ford calling out Matty J for a comedy

(14:39):
sketch that he did. To be fair, it's not like
they actually blocked us. I think her unfollowers a step
down from a full blocking. Yeah, to be fair, if
someone was bagging out my husband, i'd probably unfollow them too, Yeah, exactly,
So you can see where Selena's coming from. That's the
difficulty now with this push to promote your podcast online
and share clips of you talking, because that's how the
celebrity is an influence, says know that you've spoken about them.

(15:02):
It's not like Selena Gomez is tuning into Shameless. Obviously,
one of the clips where they spoke about this went viral.
She's been centered or seen it and the rest is history. Well,
the other key suspect on my list is Lena Dunham.
So she is an American writer, actress, producer and feminist.
She's also another friend of Taylor who was at the
rehearsal dinner. So again she was popping up in the media.

(15:23):
Everyone was talking about her. Now, neither Zara Michelle or
the Shameless team of following her, and that is despite
them recently diving into her new memoir Fame Sick. They
also did a bonus Shame More episode where they went
further into it and about her relationship with her ex
Jack Antonov. Oh my gosh, did she date Jack Antonov?

(15:44):
I never put two and two together, So here is,
of course, one of the very famous songwriters that writes
alongside Taylor Swift. Shameless have spoken about Lena Dunham for years,
though like I actually think they did a scandal series
on her. Well, there is a clip of them recently
being critical about her not naming Lord in her memoir.
So for those who aren't across it, it speculated that

(16:05):
Jack Antonov had an affair with Lord when he was
producing her album, and they didn't like that she didn't
refer to her by name. So I wonder if she's
seen this and thought, fuck you Block. Who would you
guys be more offended by Lena Dunham or Selena Gomez?
Oh definitely Selena. I mean no shade to Lena, but
Selena All That Rhymes is the biggest celebrity out of

(16:27):
the two. I would actually be the most offended by
Anne Hathaway because she has such iconic movies like imagine
sitting down and rewatching the Princess Diaries and being like,
this woman unfollowed me and she hates me. Well, I
have a couple of other celebrities who are on my
radar as well. So these are notable celebrities that Shameless
and the host don't follow, who they've recently spoken about,

(16:48):
and who you think they should follow. So again, as
you said, Anne Hathaway, Olivia Wilde, Dakota Johnson, who a
lot of people say that Michelle looks like Chloe kardash In.
Carla Delvine hillaried Off and Megan Markle. Why would none
of them be following Meghan. This is someone who oversee
would do some blocking as Meghan Mirkal. I haven't looked

(17:11):
through who Michelle and Zara personally follow, but do they
follow a lot of big celebrities? They do. They follow
a lot of big name celebrities. You would assume they
would follow someone like Meghan purely to keep up to
date for the show. The Shameless podcast only follows eight
other accounts, and they are Michelle and Zara and the
podcast that they produce. But as you say, for Zara

(17:33):
and Michelle, they follow a large amount of celebrities, and
I just think it's odd that they aren't following some
of these big name celebrities who they've recently spoken about.
I mean, unless they've got a burner account who they
follow everyone in But that doesn't feel like them to me.
I don't think that they're getting around with a burner account.
Well that's what I was thinking, But it's not like
any of the celebrities that you've referenced are particularly controversial ones.

(17:56):
Because I remember doing a big unfollow a couple of
years ago of influencers who I no longer align with
who I don't really want to personally support, but in
saying that, I want to follow them all in a
burner account so I can keep across what they're doing
for this podcast. But it's not like any of these
celebrities that you've listed have done anything that controversial or

(18:16):
that would you know that their listeners would see, Oh,
Michelle's following you right off, like why would she be
following her? Yeah, exactly. Now we're not quite as controlled
as shameless. We like to drop the influencers who have
blocked us, partially because it feels like therapy should we
go through some of the big names. I also think
there's an element that it's not as humiliating if you

(18:38):
share it with everyone else. Yeah, there's not some dirty
secret like oh, I actually can't see that person stuff
because they blocked us. The one that hurt the most,
I think was Olivia Rodgers. I have to say that
cut deep. That really did I love follow Olivia. I
know I followed her for years and years and I
don't think we've ever really spoken badly about her, and
I know why she unfollowed us. It was off the

(18:59):
back of of us posting a real when her ex
husband Justin McKean got into all that legal trouble and
we used all that vision from their wedding. The ex
partners or partners seemed to be the raw nerve and
I totally get it. Another one that didn't really surprise me.
It was Lily Brown. She blocked us after the whole
smelly pajama incident. Who else is there? I've almost blacked

(19:20):
it out, I can't remember. See. Because of these situations,
I've got on the front foot, and I ended up
blocking some celebrities from my own personal account so that
I can still follow them in my burner account for
this podcast, because if they were to seek me out
and block all my accounts, then I'd never be able
to view their content. So at least I could do
it in a different name, if that makes sense. I

(19:41):
remembered one now, Jade Tunci. So she blocked us back
in the day because I mean to be fair, we
were calling her the betrothed after her engagement, having a
bit of a laugh about that. And now I love
her and her mother in content, and now I actually
get the betrothed joke now that I actually because at
the time I was like, oh, she he's not that funny,
and then I'm like, no, she actually is very funny.

(20:02):
I think she unblocked us though, because I can see
her content again. Yeah, I think we block Sophie Kasha
again to get on the front foot, so then she
couldn't block us because I think after she called us
out on her Instagram story. Yeah, it's confusing if we've
blocked or they've blocked anyway, there is quite a list.
One person I'm shocked that hasn't blocked us is Sarah's Day.
Oh again, I think I blocked her on my personal

(20:23):
account to Yeah. Yeah, maybe that's what shameless need to do.
They need to go on block every big a list
just so they can see their content. Still, that's a
bit of a tip from us. Block before you get blocked.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
I'm going to a breakup and today feels a little
bit harder than the other days.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Olivia Mathers has confirmed her breakup from boyfriend of three years,
Jack Jeffers. The news came as a shock to Olivia's followers,
who expected the couple to soon be announcing their engagement. Kay,
can you get listeners up to speed with who the
couple is? Well? Olivia is a model and influencer with
almost a million followers across Instagram and TikTok, and I

(21:03):
was saying to you guys the other night, she is
top tier in terms of who I would like to
look like. She is absolutely stunning. Her and her sister
are incredible and I cannot believe they're not twins. They've
got a couple of years between them, but they look identical. Now,
Isabel Math's Olivia's sister, is I suppose the bigger influencer

(21:25):
out of the two. She's got nearly three million followers
across her platforms. One of them, again, I don't know
which one it is, which is hypocritical of me, but
they created a TikTok being like, I just have to
point out there are two of us, Like a lot
of people think that there's only one of us, but
there's two. Yeah. We had an argument last night about
it because you guys are like, oh, no, they look different,
and then I showed you a video of them together
and you were like, oh what, there's a slight difference,

(21:47):
A slight difference. Yeah. Well. In addition to modeling and influencing,
Olivia also hosts a podcast alongside Miss Universe Australia finalist
Bianca Black. Now, as for Jack, he's a fitness influencer
and per personal trainer who also doubles in mottling. He
was voted the Gold Coast Best Personal Trainer by the
Gold Coast Bulletin in twenty two. So quite a glamorous

(22:09):
couple now, Olivia and Jack. They have been together, as
we mentioned, for three years, and Jack has been a
regular fixture in her content. But now looking back at
her content, knowing what we know, there were a few
signs that things weren't quite as picture perfect as they
may have seemed. So in February, Olivia revealed to her
TikTok followers that Jack actually ghosted her ten years ago.

(22:34):
So she shared a reel of her and Jack hugging
in a pool with the label me and the boy
that ghosted me ten years ago, and she captured the
post universe said just wait, it still blows my mind
that someone would ghost someone like Olivia Mather's, Like, it
just goes to show if you're in the dating trenches
at the moment and someone ghosts you, it happens to

(22:56):
absolutely everyone. Now, there was another red flag in April,
so Olivia shared behind the scenes footage of her and
Jack shooting a sponsored video together, and Jack didn't seem
happy with her at all. At one stage, she went
up and said, oh, I'm sorry for being bossy, and
then he joked that she was a witch. He's like, witch, witch,
she needs to be burnt, and I was like, God,

(23:17):
I would have cut that out of the cliff. Well,
there was another reel that went viral in April. So
in the video that now has two point four million views,
Jack told Olivia off for trying to put her head
out of the sun roof while he was driving. So
he essentially told her off and said you'll get a
ticket for doing this, and that she shouldn't share the
vision because she wasn't wearing a seat belt. Now, Olivia

(23:39):
captioned the video watched my boyfriend, gentle parent, my drunk ass.
This video popped up organically for me back in April,
and I was like, oh my god, this is so awkward.
Why would you post it? Because he looked so genuinely
pissed off And there were quite a few people gushing about,
oh my god, this is so cute, and obviously Olivia
thought it was like nice enough to post but the

(23:59):
top comment on the video said, what are you guys seeing?
He looks so annoyed at her, which got two point
four thousand lives. In his defense, that would be annoying, though,
if you're picking someone up drunk and they're being obnoxious.
You know, I've done that before with an ex who
constantly wanted me to pick him up whilst he was drunk,
and you know, it does great on you. Have you
guys seen that TikTok that's gone viral where this girl

(24:21):
shared vision of her boyfriend straight after he proposed and
he's like, you can shut up now. I saw that
that was so awkward, and she thought it was really funny,
and people are like, this is not the flex that
you think is. There's another influencer, like a sort of
micro influencer on TikTok who I just had to go
through her whole feed of content because this video popped

(24:42):
up where she was doing a taste test in the
car with him, and I'm thinking, just do it by yourself,
because she's like, what do you think of that? Oh?
Look at that, that looks so good. He's like it's okay,
like stop doing that and just paying her out. But
I'm like, why would you upload that? The thing is,
some of these guys could actually only be really nice
behind the scenes, and they might just be so irritated

(25:04):
about being included in their partner's content. But then again,
they should probably just be supportive of what their partner
wants to do. I sometimes think though, like, if you're
lacking that awareness that you've actually watched it back, edited
and uploaded it and you still don't see that your
boyfriend's being addict to you, what is he like behind
closed doors? Well, getting back to Olivia, two weeks ago,

(25:24):
she hinted that something wasn't right, so she uploaded a
video where she mimed to the lyrics all of your
sweet talk baby this baby. That's but your lies ain't
working now. I mean she took a page out of
Tammy Hambro's book, didn't she? Mm?

Speaker 2 (25:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Despite that clue, fans were pretty shocked when Olivia confirmed
the news in a TikTok last week. So in the video,
she opened up that she was having a difficult day,
and she quite bravely spoke about how she's trying to
avoid falling into the same pattern that she did with
her last breakup when she started binge eating and letting
the wrong people get close to her. Did you guys

(26:01):
know she used to date Adam Sullivan. Isn't he a
lot older than her? So she's twenty nine nearly thirty, oh,
which surprised me. Well, I did not see them being
together at all. That is bizarre. Let's trot a little
bit of what Olivia had to say about the breakup.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
I really feel like the hardest sort of emotion to
process in this whole thing is just the grief for
where you thought you would be. Like, obviously, when you're
in a relationship, you're looking ahead, So I'm thinking five
years ahead, I'm already imagining that, my family visualizing a wedding.

(26:39):
It's kind of just like letting go of all these ideas,
like why do we put emotional value and connection on
things that haven't even happened.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
I feel so much for Olivia because in the last
year she has made it really clear to her followers
that she's very ready to get married. October last year,
she and Jack did a paid partnership with Culen Jewelry
where they looked at engagement rings. Now her sister Isabelle
got engaged in February to her boyfriend of ten years,
which I'm sure has added to the pressure of all

(27:14):
of this. And Olivia has also been really vocal about
the fact that she's ready to have children. In January,
she said this on her TikTok.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
I feel like for me personally, I'm thirty this year,
I've met my forever person or the person I want
to marry, and with my experience around my friend's kids
and everything that I have allowed myself to absorb, I
do somewhat feel ready, like emotionally ready at least. So

(27:43):
I just want to know, for the moms who felt
the same as me, how is it going.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Oh, so, it seems like he definitely wasn't on the
same page because he has given some bizarre quotes to
The Daily Mail and it has made it seem like
this breakup is all down to the fact that he
isn't ready to start a family and he wants to
focus on his career. So he spoke to the Daily
Mail and confirmed that they split up six weeks ago,

(28:12):
and I want to read out his full quotes to
give full effect. He said, we're good. We just screw apart.
There's nothing wrong. We're still hanging out we're still chatting
a whole lot. It's just different goals. She's great, everything's good.
She was ready for a family and all that, and
I'm just ready for a career change, which doesn't quite fit.
I'll be ready for a family one day, I guess

(28:34):
who knows. He then went on to admit that the
door isn't closed yet, but time will tell, he said.
I think we're both learning, that's for sure. He also added,
my goal personally is trying to figure out what I
want to do as a career option. I built a
pretty successful personal training business and I just didn't want
to do that anymore. And through the process of all

(28:56):
of it, you know, it's tough trying to start again
at the age of thirty. But my goal over the
next three months will just be to focus on that.
Keep fit and healthy, keep my friends close to me,
work on my hobbies and interests, just be a genuine
human and just enjoy life, but also work hard during
the week. So reading between the lines, it seems like
he is keeping Olivia on the back burner for when

(29:19):
he is ready to have a family. I couldn't believe
it that this guy said all of this to the
Daily Mail, Like, what the fuck is he thinking? It's like,
did you have a brain fade when they called you?
Like you're listing all of these things, Like it's almost
like you're trying to sell yourself. I wonder if you
didn't realize the difference between an on the record comment
and an off the record comment, Like it sounds like

(29:40):
he just chatted away and didn't realize that they could
actually take all these quotes and print them. I just
feel sorry for Olivia because it seems like he's pulled
the pin because he didn't want to start a family
and he was feeling a lot of pressure, Like this
would literally be a slap in the face that you
go on air this dirty laundry to the Daily Mail. Well,
surely that would be then and the coffin for her.

(30:01):
Surely she's seen that quote and is like, this guy
is clearly immature. He's just keeping me on the back
burner for when he decides he wants something. I mean,
she's too good for this. I would not actually be
surprised if they get back together, though. I think it's
really difficult. When you're about to turn thirty, you think
your life's going in a certain direction, you know, you're
getting ready to be proposed to start a family and

(30:24):
then someone pulls the rug from under year. But it's
quite so that he doesn't want any of those things
just yet, so she may as well move on and
find someone who is ready. Oh I totally agree, but
I think mentally it's hard to move on when you've
got to rebuild again. What can this band say? So?
Adam Hyde's Bonds campaign has created a storm online. Last week,

(30:47):
the Peaking Duck singer took over from Robert Irwin, has
the face of the iconic Aussie brand in its latest campaign. However,
the musician selection was not met with the same excitement. Instead,
there have been calls for Hide to removed from the campaign.
As soon as this campaign launched, the comments section was
so brutal. One person wrote how do we go from

(31:08):
Robert Irwin to this clown? While another said I'm now
changing brands. I'm fairly bad because some of the comments
were absolutely abhorrent, But one that did make me laugh
was someone saying that he looked like the Paddle popline
because there is quite and there is quite a similarity there.
I actually think that Bonds were trying to rage bait
a bit with some of the photos and videos in

(31:29):
this campaign, because I saw one photo that they shared
on Facebook and it was Adam lying across a set
of movie chairs in his jocks and he had this
really embarrassed looking face, and someone wrote, he looks like
he just jacked off in the movie theater and got
caught out. And he's got like ten thousand likes. But
I think it's almost because people no longer see him

(31:50):
as a person now who's almost been made into this
Carica chill because of his association with Abi Chatfield. Oh definitely. Now,
off the back of all of that commentary, a petition
was then created calling for Adam to be removed from
the campaign. So the petition in question has almost three
thousand signatures and it was created by an anonymous account

(32:11):
called Concerned Ozzie. Can you just imagine the person that.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Did this.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
For Pauline hands them? I think you could be correct there. Now.
They claimed that Adam shouldn't be the face of the
latest campaign because of quote deeply divisive and offensive comments
he made. Now this comment in question relates to and
now deleted TikTok Adam and his partner Abby Chatfield made
back in September about the March for Australia rallies. Now

(32:35):
for listeners not familiar with these rallies, they were a
large anti immigration protest and very politically charged. So thousands
of Australians attended the rallies, which were organized by people
linked to far right groups. Extremist figures also reportedly attended
some of the events and it are now deleted. TikTok
Adam labeled the protesters as fucking moronic pieces of shit.

(32:58):
He said, to think that your protest testing against immigrants,
that's not what's going on here. This is flat out
racism and anyone that denies this is a fucking racist.
He then wanted to say you're all bigots and pieces
of shit. You're staying on this country and shouldn't represent
Australia at all. Unfortunately, this country is rooted and upheld
within racism, so it's very on brand. You all scum
and need to do better. He also addressed a related

(33:20):
incident that occurred at a First Nation site called Camp
Sovereignty in Melbourne. Four Indigenous people were injured after the
sacred indigenous burial site was allegedly attacked by neo Nazis. Now,
despite these comments being made ten months ago, people are
viewing Bonds selecting Adam as an ambassador as a political statement,
and they're essentially accusing Bonds of siding with Adam and

(33:43):
intern Abby Chatfield's political views. Look, it's not particularly surprising
in this social media climate that we're living in. I mean,
it's not the first time that we're seeing an advertising
campaign being turned into a cultural war. We're at a
stage now where even neutral campaigns are getting adaly for
these hidden meanings, especially campaigns involving celebrities, And I think

(34:04):
when you are selecting someone as an ambassador for your brand,
you are essentially saying that you willlign with that person's
views and beliefs. I think, though, timing plays a role
in how big this backlash has been because the campaign
came off the back of Karl Stefanovic being fired from
Channel nine, and this was after his podcast interview with
uk FI right activist Tony Robinson. So there are rumblings

(34:27):
within the right side of politics that people who support
right ideologies are being censored. Yeah. Political commentator Lucy Zelik
recently claimed that there was a double standard when it
came to Adam Hyde and Karl Stefanovic. She said it
was sheer hypocrisy that someone like Adam Hyde still gets
endorsement deals following his comments regarding the March for Australia.

(34:48):
She went on to claim that the only reason Adam
wasn't canceled like Karl Stefanovic was because he's pushing a
left leaning agenda rather than a right one. The thing
I don't get is why people are acting like Bond
has made this big shift aligning itself with Adam Hyde.
Because Bonds has been a progressive brand for years. They've
released a gender free collection, they introduced genderless online shopping

(35:10):
browsing options. They also have a pride collection. Yeah. I
mean as clear this was a strategic marketing decision from Bonds.
I mean they knew what they were doing when they
picked Adam to be the face of this campaign. They
were feeding into the algorithm, just like they did with
Robert Irwin last year, because who could forget the photo
that went viral of Robert Irwin holding a massive snake
while wearing Bons jocks. I mean the difficulty is that

(35:34):
everyone loves Robert Irwin like he is like Australia's son,
So it does seem then weird to swing to someone
who is quite divisive, but in saying that, he does
seem to align with the political views that Bonds does hold,
so it does make sense as well. I actually think
that this was a deliberate contrast in going from Robert
to Adam, because they want to expand their audience segments

(35:55):
and by picking someone divisive like Adam Hyde, they knew
that they were going to create comments and shares, which
obviously drives engagement and that equals more views and media attention.
And the thing is, despite causing backlash, the reality is
most existing customers stick around with a brand. I actually disagree, Kay.
I think that this could impact Bonds's bottom line due
to the fact that they have been known for years

(36:17):
as an all Australian brand. If you look back at
some of their past ambassadors, it's been the likes of
Pat Rafter, Michael Clark, Nick Kurios. They've been very sport focused.
So I think that a lot of people who have
worn Bonds over the years don't necessarily fit into a
left wing category. There are a lot of people who

(36:38):
are part of the right that do shop at Bonds,
and a lot of them are angry and have been saying, well,
we're going to start buying trade underwear. We'll ultimately have
to agree to disagree. Because I personally think this is
a successful campaign for Bonds. I think a lot of
this online outrage really doesn't equate to the real world,
and I think what Bonds has succeeded in is people

(36:59):
are talking about their campaign, so they've increased brand awareness,
and in doing so, they only have to enjoy short
lived controversy. I mean, people move on so quickly. It's
been proven that these types of controversies are unlikely to
actually change people's buying behaviors, and I think ultimately this
campaign will simply be remembered as one that created arguments online. Now,

(37:20):
this is Amy coming to you from the future. Since
we stopped recording, Adam Hyde released a statement on the
Bonds campaign. He said, for some time now, I've been
targeted by a deliberate weaponization and misrepresentation of something I
said almost a year ago that needs to be clarified.
I'm addressing this now because since coming home from tour,

(37:41):
people I love have been threatened, harassed, and verbally abused
in public, and it's now become a safety issue, not
only for me, but for those around me. I've seen
people claiming that I wish death upon anyone who disagrees
with me, that I have told everyday Australians to kill themselves,
or have even threatened to harm people. These are defamatory

(38:01):
and entirely untrue claims against me. The video that has
been circulating has been edited, recontextualized, and is missing the
pivotal context of who I'm actually addressing. In reality, the
context of my quote was in direct response to a
group of people alleged to be neo Nazis for the
unprovoked attack on the Indigenous protest site Camp Sovereignty on

(38:23):
August thirty first, twenty twenty five, a group that was
officially added to the prescribed hate group list by the
Australian government. This attack included approximately fifty men allegedly storming
up a hill, targeting women, throwing them to the ground
and striking them in the head, resulting in four people
requiring medical attention, with two people taken to hospital. These

(38:45):
people were also allegedly chanting white Man's land and white power,
along with misogynistic slurs. If you want to know more
about what I was reacting to. Here's a link. This
wasn't directed to everyday Australians, nor was this addressed to
every body at the March for Australia, and certainly not
aimed at people who simply disagree with me. The wording

(39:06):
I chose was far from eloquent, and reacting in such
a manner is not conducive to anything positive. I take
full accountability for that. However, I believe this is critical
context as to what and who the comments were in
regards to. He then goes on to quote what he
actually said in the video, which is what we said
in the podcast. The statement went on to say, if

(39:27):
you're mad at me for being viscerally frustrated, heartbroken and
disappointed that in Australia in twenty twenty five there were
groups of people reported to be neo Nazis storming peaceful,
innocent protest camps and severely harming innocent Australians for no reason,
then by all means be mad at me. I love
Australia and I'm all for love, but I do hate

(39:47):
neo Nazis. If you made it this far, thank you
