Resident Historian Amiel "Cortz" Cortes recounts on the Spanish-Moro conflict originating from medieval 11th-century Europe, where Muslim-Christianity hostility was first recorded. Apart from infighting issues between a few Muslim tribes, the sea border (Bohol Sea) separating Visayas and Mindanao also contributed to the slow progress — with an additional note that the Ifugao tribes within the Cordillera region (Northern Luzon) were also free from Spanish reign; mentioning their threats of Spanish heads displayed on spikes and poles within routes as warnings.
