Meet the Hosts: Protests Before Parades (Pilot)

Before the floats, the flags, and the rainbow crosswalks, there were queer people with nothing left to lose and everything to prove. Episode 01 of Pride This Way goes back to the roots of Pride as protest, tracing a line from Stonewall and AIDS-era marches to today’s glitter-covered parades and global Pride routes.

In the pilot, we meet our global storytellers, the co-hosts of Pride This Way. This episode brings Soraya Vivian, Tara McDonald, Muffy Vanderbilt III, Jason Ess, Conleth Kane, and Jono Kitchens, together for a deep Pride dive. The pilot episode weaves archival news footage, brutal anti-gay propaganda, and on-the-ground Pride soundscapes into a powerful reminder that our joy was built on resistance.
