Welcome to another edition of Protecting America. I'm Rita Cosby.
So what overt and often covert activities are foreign governments
doing to undermine our country? Well, our guest today has
done some very extensive investigations into these efforts and exposes
(01:06):
them in his blockbuster new book. The book is called
The Invisible Coup. How American Elites and foreign powers use
immigration as a weapon. And it's written by the great
best selling author. He's also the president of the Government
Accountability Institute, the great Peter Schweitzer. Peter, it's so great
(01:28):
to have you here.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Great to be with you, Rita, thanks so much for
having me.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
What do you think are some of the biggest examples,
the most egregious ones of what outside influences are trying
to do to really subvert America.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Well, I would start with the two specific cases. One
would be China, the other one would be Mexico. China
has really mastered using mass migration as subversion. So what
do I mean? Well, the Supreme Court is taking up
the case of both white citizenship, this idea that if
you happen to be in the United States, you give
(02:04):
birth to a child, even though you're not in the
United States legally, that your child will be given US citizenship.
They're taking up that case, and our federal government has
no idea how often this occurs and under what conditions
it occurs. The fact is is that the Chinese government
has looked at this and they say that just as
(02:26):
their own countrymen, who by the way, they have encouraged
to do this over the years, just their own countrymen
have done it in astronomical numbers. They say that over
the last thirteen years, every year, roughly one hundred thousand
Chinese babies are born in the United States. They are
then brought back to China. They're US citizens because they're
(02:49):
born here. They're raised in China in CCP schools, and
then when they turn eighteen rita, they're going to be
able to vote, They're going to be able to give
to political campaigns, they're going to be able to apply
for sensitive government jobs. It is intentional by the Chinese government,
and it represents a massive threat to us because let's
remember the twenty sixteen election, Donald Trump won by eighty
(03:12):
thousand votes. We're talking about more than a million, and
this wave is going to start hitting in the next
couple of years. The other example I would give is Mexico.
The strategy is different, but the effects I think are
very powerful. Mexico course borders US, and there are tens
of millions of Mexicans that have snuck across the border
(03:33):
and come into the United States over the decade. This
is something that's encouraged by the Mexican government. They see
it not only as a way of getting currency remittance
is sent back, but more importantly, they see this as
a political force that they can use to their advantage.
And they have a network of more than fifty consulates who,
(03:54):
as I document in the book, are engaged in political activities,
name helping Democrats beat Republicans because they don't like Republicans
immigration policies and other policy towards Mexico. And the second
thing that they're doing is they're actually organizing some of
these violent anti ice protests and immigration protests that we've
(04:16):
seen across the country, which is something that foreign diplomats
are not supposed to do. So those are a couple
of examples. A lot of immigration is not random. It's organized,
and it's steered by foreign entities who see it as
a weapon to deploy against us.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
You know, it's incredible. I wanted to start where you
talked about with China because you talk about this whole
sort of indoctrination process. How extensive, what does the CCP
do and how organized is it? Are they targeting people
after the fact that they're saying no, go over there,
have the baby. It's a whole Is it like clockwork?
(04:53):
In the Chinese regime.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
It's a great question. They started actually in twenty eleven
running art in the People's Daily, they're the main paper
of the Chinese Communist Party, and the article literally describes
how you, as a Chinese national, have a constitutional right
in the United States to bring your pregnant wife or
girlfriend over to the United States, give birth, and your
(05:17):
child will be given US citizenship. So the government was
actually encouraging this primarily among the elites. A lot of
the people that are having babies here from China. These
are not dissidents. These are military officers, These are intelligence officers,
members of the propaganda apparatus. We found one senior military
officer who has three children, all of whom are US citizens.
(05:41):
Even though this senior military officer is executing and carrying
out possible military planning that would be targeting the United States.
So it's organized by the Chinese governments. They allow these
services to be openly advertised. There's an additional problem that
we don't even know the extent of, and that is
(06:02):
the problem of surrogacy. So in the one case you're
bringing your pregnant wife or a girlfriend over she's giving birth,
they get the citizen you go back to China. In
this incidence of surrogacy, you have a wealthy, powerful Chinese
men who are taking their sperm and they are impregnating
(06:23):
surrogate mothers in the United States who are called carriers,
and they're paid fifty thousand dollars to carry the child
until birth. And again this child's being born in the
United States. The biological mother in this case is American.
These children are immediately sent back to China. And we
have no idea how many are doing this, but again
(06:45):
it's openly advertised in China. And what we do know
is just in southern California, we have found one hundred
and seven Chinese owned surrogacy companies that do this very thing.
So it's a very very truebling and concerning problems.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
And you think about also how many Chinese There's been
so many stories you think about in the last few years,
Peter Schweizer of Chinese buying land right near military facilities
US military facilities. We think of the Chinese spy balloon.
So there are a lot of these other activities right
that they are clearly doing. Seeds I guess remember there's
(07:23):
been some toxic, dangerous seeds sent to quote Chinese researchers
right in Michigan.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, yeah, no exactly. I mean, this is the thing
we have to understand is that the Chinese approach is
they view this as warfare, not a kinetic war, a
shooting war, but legitimate things to do against your adversary,
which is the United States. And you know what they're
competing against us here is not just for military power,
spheres of influence. I quote the leading theoreticians in the
(07:52):
Chinese Communist Party RITA, and they say that they are
at war with American civilization and it's emphasis on individualism.
They view that as the ultimate threat, and they've weaponized
our immigration system in other ways. We have an EB
five program where if you invest a million dollars in
the United States, you create some jobs, you can get
(08:13):
permanent residence status. This was a visa program started in
the nineteen nineties. As I point out in the book,
the person most responsible for getting this law passed turned
out later was outed as a Chinese spy. So this
is a visa program designed by a Chinese spy. It's
now dominated by the Chinese. Ninety percent of the visas
(08:33):
granted through this program go to Chinese nationals. And yet
they get permanent residence status. They invest here, but they
remain in China. So why do they want permanent residence
status Rita. It's because if you have permanent residence status
in the United States, whether you live here or not,
you can legally make campaign donations to political candidates. And
(08:55):
they do that to the tune of tens of millions
of dollars. So we literally have money legally courtesy of
this visa program started by a Chinese by they can
donate tens of millions of dollars legally to political campaigns
and those donations break roughly eighty twenty Democrat to Republican.

Wow, that is stunning. And one of the other names.
And you've explored this person. Talk about this guy Singham.
He's an American with these ties. He's over in China.
Explain who he is and his history and what he
is doing in America.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah. So Roy Singham, a self described maoist, was born
and lived in Michigan. Started a company called Thought Works,
sold it to a investment firm. Very interesting. The investment
firm is partly owned by the Chinese government Sovereign Wealth Fund,
even though it's based in London. But he basically made
(09:49):
about a billion dollars off of that deal. What did
he do? Did he settle into Florida or California. No,
he moved to Beijing, China. And this self described maoist
is doing what he is now funding radical Antifa type
groups inside the United States States. We've been able to
trace more than one hundred million dollars that he has
(10:10):
done so far over the last five to six years.
He's friends with CCP propagandists, He's attended senior CCP events,
and he is part of this China effort to effectively
destabilize the United States politically. And as I talk in
the book that Chinese consulates, like the Mexican consulate I've mentioned,
(10:32):
are also engaged in political activities. So this is the
sort of behavior that should be completely unacceptable, and I
think one of the things that Trump administration needs to
look at doing is kicking out these diplomats and limiting
the number of consulates. You know, China has six, Great
Britain has seven, Mexico has fifty three, and we know
(10:54):
that many of them are engaged in supporting violent protests,
engaged in political whole of meddling in our elections that
should not be taking place. We need to close a
lot of those conflicts.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Now you talked about Mexico. One of the things I
thought was so interesting, Peter, you talk about in the
book the role of the president and even some of
the comments that they've made. I find that really interesting
that they don't see immigration and you brought this up
earlier as sort of immigration that their political ends, but
they also see like bring us back. They're saying, you know,
(11:31):
we deserve America. Basically.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah, this was shocking to me because I didn't expect
a that they would say these things, or be that
they would be as open about it. But there are
dozens of quotes in the book where senior Mexican officials
are saying that mass migration from Mexico and Latin America
is a means by which Mexico can reconquer or reconquista
(11:54):
territories that they lost from the United States in the
nineteenth century. It seems almost like this ridiculous fantasy, and
yet there you have senior advisors to the current president
Shinebaum saying it. You see the previous president Amlo saying it.
You see prominent Mexican senators, some of the most powerful
senators in their Senate saying it openly, and they name
(12:17):
the states California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Texas.
They view those as territories that belong to Mexico. And
they may not think that they're literally going to become
Mexican states, but they already talk openly about how they
are able to exert some level of sovereignty inside the
(12:40):
United States because of this mass migration and because of
the activities that they are undertaking politically to engage.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
In How many American leaders do you believe, whether it's
on both sides of the aisle Peter like, how much
you think that they are aware of what's going on
and how many are turning a blind eye. I mean,
you look at even the case of Minneapolis with the
fraud and all the things that are going Where the money.
The allegation is that at least some of it went
to Boca Haram, you know, the big terror group over
(13:09):
there in Somalia. How much do you and look to me,
it looks very fishy With Tim Walls, he says he
didn't do anything wrong. We'll see where it goes. But
you look at all this, how many do you think
there are leaders who are fully aware of what's going
on and turning a blind eye.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Well, there's clearly ignorance in Washington. That's always the problem,
as we know, they just don't focus on the serious things.
But I think to the point you make, there is
political advantage that a lot of politicians have gained from
looking the other way and allowing this mass migration to
take place and allowing its political manifestations to occur. What's
(13:48):
interesting about the situation with Somalia in Minneapolis and a
lot of these other fraud cases is, as I quote
in the book, there are Islamist emms inside the United
States who have actually been encouraging this behavior. They describe
that ripping off these social warfare programs in the United
(14:08):
States are a legitimate tax that non Muslims should be
paying to Muslims, and they describe it that explicitly, So
they try to wrap this in the context of some
kind of a religious duty that Muslims should engage in. That,
to me is just an example of what we're talking about.
(14:29):
The fraud is not just something that sort of happens.
Oh well, these people kind of decided to do it.
The political activism that we're seeing in the streets of
Minneapolis with these violent protests, it's not just random. There
are individuals and there are political networks from overseas that
are aginning this stuff up. It's a form of warfare.
(14:51):
There's a Mexican official in the book that I quote.
His name is Alejandro Roblaze. He served in the Mexican
Chamber of Deputies, their parliament. He's the head of international
political operations from Marina, the ruling party in Mexico, and
he describes in twenty twenty five how he was crisscrossing
the United States organizing the militancy. That's his words, organizing
(15:15):
militants for the purpose of creating a permanent resistance inside
the United States. This is not some crazy literature professor
at cal Berkeley. These are Mexican government officials that are
going around the United States trying to sow this kind
of conflict.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
And one of the things Peter Schweizer too, that you
also uncover. I mean, we're heading into a midterm elections
and the stakes couldn't be higher. It's obviously for control
of the House. How much do you think even some
of this sort of partnership if you will, or turning
a blind eye, if you will, at all costs. How
much more do you think we're going to see that
(15:55):
because it is such an important political year.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Well, it's a great question. Look, one of the things
we know is that these foreign governments are putting their
thumb on the scale. This is I think one of
the most shocking things in the book. We uncovered a
meeting that took place in Oklahoma City in May of
twenty twenty four, presidential election year, obviously, and the meeting
was held at the Mexican Consulate in Oklahoma City. They
(16:21):
pulled together diplomats from the consulates from Los Angeles to Orlando,
of Florida and everything in between. There were officials that
came from the Mexican Foreign Ministry. The Foreign Minister of
Mexico even addressed the meeting by video. The other group
of people that were there with consular officials included activists,
(16:41):
primarily Democratic Party activists. And what they discussed rito was
how they had turned California from red to blue, how
they had turned Arizona from red to blue. And they
were discussing how are we going to stop Trump? This
is not what diplomats are supposed to be doing, thumb
is on the scale, and as we approach midterm elections,
(17:03):
unless we take I think strong action and in shutting
down some of these consulates, we can expect more of
this foreign interference in our elections. And as far as
I'm concerned, it should be completely and totally unacceptable.

Yeah, it should be, and everybody should care about it,
all Americans working together on it. Peter, I know that
this is even just the tip of the iceberg because
you have such a great investigative reporting. What you've already
shared is blockbuster and I just want to encourage everybody
to get this awesome book. Nobody does investigations, especially those

that deal with homeland security and the safety of all
Americans than you, Peter Schweiser. In the book is the

You see prominent Mexican senators, some of the most powerful
senators in their Senate saying it openly, and they name
(12:17):
the states California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Texas.
They view those as territories that belong to Mexico. And
they may not think that they're literally going to become
Mexican states, but they already talk openly about how they
are able to exert some level of sovereignty inside the
(12:40):
United States because of this mass migration and because of
the activities that they are undertaking politically to engage.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
In How many American leaders do you believe, whether it's
on both sides of the aisle Peter like, how much
you think that they are aware of what's going on
and how many are turning a blind eye. I mean,
you look at even the case of Minneapolis with the
fraud and all the things that are going Where the money.
The allegation is that at least some of it went
to Boca Haram, you know, the big terror group over
(13:09):
there in Somalia. How much do you and look to me,
it looks very fishy With Tim Walls, he says he
didn't do anything wrong. We'll see where it goes. But
you look at all this, how many do you think
there are leaders who are fully aware of what's going
on and turning a blind eye.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Well, there's clearly ignorance in Washington. That's always the problem,
as we know, they just don't focus on the serious things.
But I think to the point you make, there is
political advantage that a lot of politicians have gained from
looking the other way and allowing this mass migration to
take place and allowing its political manifestations to occur. What's
(13:48):
interesting about the situation with Somalia in Minneapolis and a
lot of these other fraud cases is, as I quote
in the book, there are Islamist emms inside the United
States who have actually been encouraging this behavior. They describe
that ripping off these social warfare programs in the United
(14:08):
States are a legitimate tax that non Muslims should be
paying to Muslims, and they describe it that explicitly, So
they try to wrap this in the context of some
kind of a religious duty that Muslims should engage in. That,
to me is just an example of what we're talking about.
(14:29):
The fraud is not just something that sort of happens.
Oh well, these people kind of decided to do it.
The political activism that we're seeing in the streets of
Minneapolis with these violent protests, it's not just random. There
are individuals and there are political networks from overseas that
are aginning this stuff up. It's a form of warfare.
(14:51):
There's a Mexican official in the book that I quote.
His name is Alejandro Roblaze. He served in the Mexican
Chamber of Deputies, their parliament. He's the head of international
political operations from Marina, the ruling party in Mexico, and
he describes in twenty twenty five how he was crisscrossing
the United States organizing the militancy. That's his words, organizing
(15:15):
militants for the purpose of creating a permanent resistance inside
the United States. This is not some crazy literature professor
at cal Berkeley. These are Mexican government officials that are
going around the United States trying to sow this kind
of conflict.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
And one of the things Peter Schweizer too, that you
also uncover. I mean, we're heading into a midterm elections
and the stakes couldn't be higher. It's obviously for control
of the House. How much do you think even some
of this sort of partnership if you will, or turning
a blind eye, if you will, at all costs. How
much more do you think we're going to see that
(15:55):
because it is such an important political year.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Well, it's a great question. Look, one of the things
we know is that these foreign governments are putting their
thumb on the scale. This is I think one of
the most shocking things in the book. We uncovered a
meeting that took place in Oklahoma City in May of
twenty twenty four, presidential election year, obviously, and the meeting
was held at the Mexican Consulate in Oklahoma City. They
(16:21):
pulled together diplomats from the consulates from Los Angeles to Orlando,
of Florida and everything in between. There were officials that
came from the Mexican Foreign Ministry. The Foreign Minister of
Mexico even addressed the meeting by video. The other group
of people that were there with consular officials included activists,
(16:41):
primarily Democratic Party activists. And what they discussed rito was
how they had turned California from red to blue, how
they had turned Arizona from red to blue. And they
were discussing how are we going to stop Trump? This
is not what diplomats are supposed to be doing, thumb
is on the scale, and as we approach midterm elections,
(17:03):
unless we take I think strong action and in shutting
down some of these consulates, we can expect more of
this foreign interference in our elections. And as far as
I'm concerned, it should be completely and totally unacceptable.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Yeah, it should be, and everybody should care about it,
all Americans working together on it. Peter, I know that
this is even just the tip of the iceberg because
you have such a great investigative reporting. What you've already
shared is blockbuster and I just want to encourage everybody
to get this awesome book. Nobody does investigations, especially those
(17:37):
that deal with homeland security and the safety of all
Americans than you, Peter Schweiser. In the book is the
Invisible Coup How American elites and foreign powers use immigration
as a weapon. And I encourage everybody to be sure
