Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, maybe what
I'm going to say sounds arrogant
or conceited, but realistically, I feel like that's something
that's needed.
I feel like those traits thatpeople call other people when
they're trying to be somethingbigger than themselves or trying
(00:20):
to be a world champion or thebest in the world at something
you know, and always trying toachieve higher.
I think I think I'm justguessing right, but I think it's
fair to say that other peoplemight consider them arrogant,
but if you're a championshipboxer, right, and you believe
you're the best in the entireworld, right, and you want to go
out and fight, you need to havethat sort of persona mentality
(00:45):
in order to carry thatconfidence.
Everyone else will say, oh,he's arrogant, he's conceited.
Maybe, or maybe that's justpart of the mindset that other
people think when you live andwork as a champion.
You know the reason that I'msaying that is because sometimes
I ask myself differentquestions and they motivate me
(01:07):
right Over and over again, suchas just thinking about the will
to win.
Do you have the will to win?
What are you willing to?
Maybe not sacrifice, but in adifferent way, give up or do
less of, to do something more ofin a different way give up or
do less of to do something moreof Right.
(01:28):
I'm working so hard always tobe the best comedian Hands down,
right.
But what do I do, in addition tomaybe everybody else?
Tell you one thing I start mymorning at four o'clock in the
morning and after I kind of getwashed up and I stretch and
maybe even go to the gym.
You know I do that too.
I write and I perform and Iwrite and I perform.
(01:53):
Why do I do that?
Because I want more hours inthe day.
I need an edge.
I need an edge on everyone elsethat's ahead of me, and then
one day I'm a little bit closerto them, and the one day I
surpass them and me.
And then one day I'm a littlebit closer to them, and the one
day I surpass them, and now I'mgetting booked all the time.
Right, what?
What are you willing to do?
What are you, the listener?
If there is something that youwant to be the best at, what
(02:14):
could you be doing more of toget to that next level?
Cause I'm telling you right nowif you can think of anybody
else that's doing something more.
If this was a race, you got todo equal and then surpass them.
The only way you're going to,the only way we're going to
catch up to somebody okay, is byworking harder than uh, than
them, right?
And then if you continue toprogress in that um, in that
(02:38):
work ethic and stuff, you'regoing to go from catching up to
them to passing them.
And stuff you're going to gofrom catching up to them to
passing them.
That's my biggest goal.
My biggest goal, every singleday, is to be better than
everybody, and that's one of thethings that I always really
liked about, uh, conor McGregor.
He says I don't want to takepart, I want to take over,
(02:59):
that's it.
It's so funny because there'sthe phrase meteoric rise,
meaning a meteor, right?
It's a strange concept to thinkthat you know, everybody knew
who Connor was.
You know when everybody startedto, he started to blow up, 10
(03:20):
years before that, nobody knewwho he was Right.
And I feel like every singleday I go from being less known
to more known.
Sorry, sometimes I I get paidextra money to uh help cars in
front of me when lights aregreen to remind them they have
(03:42):
to drive.
At that point I apologize,idiots.
But anyway, back to what I wassaying.
Please forgive me audience.
But, yeah, one of the thingsthat he said is I don't want to
take part, I want to take over, and everybody kept saying how
(04:03):
conceited he was and howarrogant he was.
But think about it, you have tocarry that mentality, okay, not
the mentality of tellingyourself I'm conceited, not the
mentality of telling yourselfthat I'm arrogant, but having
the will to win, to do so much,to be the best and to build that
(04:28):
confidence internally.
If people are saying you'rearrogant, conceited, okay, they
could be haters, right, but morethan likely, someone that's a
champion isn't going to use thatword.
You ever thought about that?
You ever thought about the waysthat people describe others?
What do their peers say?
Right, I don't mean theircompetitors, I mean like the
people, I mean maybe, maybe it'slike a different league or
(04:50):
maybe a different weight classor something like that, but they
all share the commonality ofthe championship mindset.
And that's another great, awesome, amazing, cool thing
about psychology, okay, is youcan go in so many different
directions, but asking yourself, just looking at the will to win
(05:10):
, if you just Look at thatphrase Will to win, the will to
win, right, ask yourself what ifthere is something you could be
doing to catch up to the personwho's ahead of you and then not
just that, surpass them Allright Again, just like a car.
(05:31):
You can only catch up to them.
You're not going to catch up tothem by going equal speed.
You've got to be doing more, you've got to catch up to them.
You're not going to catch up tothem by going equal speed.
You've got to be doing more, you've got to catch up.
And if you want to pass by them, you've got to continue that
percentage increase of thatevolution.
You've got to continue to blazepast that full.
You hear me, so you know thatwas just a phrase.
The will to win.
It's been circling in my headlately a lot and I've been
(06:03):
thinking a lot lately and I'mproud to say that I have the
will to win and I display itevery single day when I get out
of bed four o'clock in themorning and then I work on what
I'm most passionate about, whichis comedy, and I still manage
to have a day job, and then, after that job, work on more
writing, do more shows andcontinue to make that, that
dream, into a reality everysingle day.
(06:25):
So maybe something that I saidwill take you the next year.
Maybe it pumped you up a littlebit, but the very least, as I
always say, same thing is outloud.
It's the only opportunity maybe, if you have a podcast or if
you don't, to instill somethingthat is already a part of you
and to get one more mentalrepetition, because otherwise,
if you're just thinking it inyour own mind, you don't really
(06:45):
hear it, right, but when you sayit, you think through those
thoughts, you hear it too.
That's like you're hitting thaton multiple ways, your
consciousness.
So anyway, y'all, the best daybe better.
