Speaker 1 (00:01):
you know, I have like
a really guilty conscience, and
it's not on purpose, it's justbecause I always feel like if
I'm being lazy which I try ashard possible not to be that I
could be doing more.
If I don't get up early enoughin the morning, I feel like I'm
(00:23):
cheating myself.
Don't get up early enough inthe morning, I feel like I'm
cheating myself.
You know, and, as unhealthy asit may sound, it's actually
really healthy because it'sactually part of what gives me
my drive.
Like I always feel like I haveless time and less time and
that's why I try to not everwaste it and that's why I
literally said I've said thislike 100 times plus I have my
alarm set, even on the weekends, for four in the morning,
(00:45):
because if it was eight o'clockin the morning, I feel like I
got a great night's rest.
That's four hours of the racethat I could have used to get
ahead of others, my futurecompetitors and current day
people, right, you know, I toldsomeone the other day that I
(01:13):
might not be the fastest or thestrongest or the whatever right,
but if I had a superpower, itwould be my unorthodox, creative
ideas.
And you ever done that thingwhere it's like you've seen
people standing in a line in agrocery store or whatever right,
and maybe there's one aislewhere nobody's in.
But for some reason theyactually did a study one time
(01:34):
where they showed it was likefive different lines and there
was like a teller at eachregister, a teller at each
register, but for some reasonone of the tellers no one was
there and long story short, people felt more psychologically
inclined to go to the tellerthat had people in it, as though
(01:55):
it didn't, and it's just aweird thing.
I mean, they've done a lot ofstudies like this where they'll
have people actually sitting ina room and someone that's not a
part of the study will have likefive people that's not a part
of the study.
They'll have like five peoplethat are kind of in on the study
, that already know what they'regoing to do, and they'll have
like 20 chairs and when thefirst guy enters, it's like the
(02:16):
person that's not in on theexperiment, right, it's like
you're participating in it, butthey don't really know the
interworkings of it, right.
They come in and everybodystands up and they don't really
know why they're standing up,okay, and they sit down and then
when the next person enters, all five people stand up, and
(02:36):
then that person that just satdown, they feel inclined they
should stand because for somereason, everybody else is.
They don't really know why andthe more and more people that
start to follow the leader, themore inclined the next person
starts to learn.
When they come in a room, everybody stands, okay, and they
repeat this over and over andit's really fascinating.
(02:57):
My point is this that won't getyou anywhere in life.
Um, and it to me, that's justmore than my opinion, that's
just my, my hard core belief.
Um, and instead of followingwhat other people do that has
been successful, the only way toreally be successful in life is
making your own route, makingyour own steps.
(03:19):
Um and uh, that is.
It's always a challenge, but itit's the most.
It's like getting a shortcut inlife, finding your own way to
get something done.
You know there's a group calledWu-Tang Clan and I love them.
They are great.
They literally held hostage aradio station, okay, just to
(03:42):
have their music played, and theonly reason they can go to jail
?
Because they were tellingenough that the company that the
radio station actually likedtheir music, right.
So I'm not saying I'm going tohold somebody hostage.
It's right, but what I amsaying is that the only way to
really get ahead in life and, um, if you really want an edge,
(04:07):
it's not to, it's not to followand do what everyone else is
doing, it's to do your own thing.
And I don't like to reveal mysecrets and say what I do, but a
basic blueprint is, um, doingyour own thing and not doing it
the way that other people do,and not doing it the way that
(04:28):
other people do.
It's hard sometimes giving goodexamples without giving a lot of
detail, but I just wanted toget this off and just say this
out loud, because it's 9 o'clockat night and I want to go to
bed, but I have so many ideasand I have to strategize new
ways to meet people, new ways toget known and to get discovered
(04:52):
and to really start to sell outcomedy clubs, because the only
way I can actually get to thenext step is to be known.
But how do I get known?
How do I get discovered?
How do I continue to be seen bythe masses more and more?
What are some basic formulas?
And people say oh, you know, you just got to meet the right
(05:13):
person.
Okay, maybe that's true.
Networking, that is one way,but there's a lot of other ways,
and it's my job as the artistto be my promoter, to be my
marketer and to figure out how Ican get known.
So I'm not going to bed rightnow and I am going to be getting
up early so that I can continue.
I thought a lot of great ideasrecently, but you have to
(05:35):
continue not just me as acomedian, but also in general,
out of everything else that I do, provided I'm passionate about
it.
First and foremost, I got tofigure out how to get ahead of
others, because I don't I'm notfamous right now.
Right, I don't have thenetworks, I don't have the
(05:56):
hookups, and I'm trying to doI'm trying to be the best
version of other people, abetter version of other people
that have done it with help, andhelp is always good, but the
one that you should always helpthe most is yourself, and you
can do that by being creativeand unorthodox, kind of like
guerrilla warfare.
Right, you might not have thebig, strong machines, but you
(06:20):
might be smaller, more mobile,right?
Or vice versa, you know, youmight not be small, more mobile,
but you can use your strengthsof being bigger and stronger to
slow down somebody.
So anyway, I hope everybody hasa beautiful rest of your night.
I really appreciate you justletting me air out my thoughts
and just hearing them with me,because I have so much good,
exciting stuff going on.
(06:41):
And after I reveal them, afterI do them, then I will tell you
what I did Not in the innerworkings before it, because I
don't want anybody to steal mythunder.
You know, I got to show thatlightning first.
All right, guys, have abeautiful day.
I'm Benji.
Well done, check me out, peace.
