México
Política: La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum y el presidente estadounidense Donald Trump acordaron posponer por 90 días las negociaciones sobre aranceles. En una declaración separada, Sheinbaum exhortó a los miembros de su partido, Morena, a llevar un estilo de vida modesto y a no buscar lujos.
Justicia: Después de pasar 19 años en prisión sin una sentencia, Israel Vallarta Cisneros fue absuelto de los cargos de secuestro y delincuencia organizada y finalmente liberado.
Clima: La Ciudad de México y algunas áreas del Estado de México sufrieron fuertes lluvias y granizadas. Las autoridades capitalinas emitieron una alerta amarilla y anunciaron que habrá cortes de agua en varias colonias de la Ciudad de México durante agosto para realizar reparaciones.
Estados Unidos
Economía: El presidente Donald Trump despidió a la directora de la Oficina de Estadísticas Laborales, Erica McTarfer, tras un informe que mostró una desaceleración en la creación de empleos. Según el informe, solo se añadieron 73,000 nuevos empleos en julio, menos de lo previsto, y la tasa de desempleo subió al 4.2%. Esto provocó una caída en los mercados bursátiles. Además, entraron en vigor nuevos aranceles comerciales que afectan a casi 70 países, lo que ha generado preocupación económica a nivel global y un claro desacuerdo con naciones como Canadá.
Clima: La región noreste del país experimentó intensas tormentas e inundaciones en estados como Nueva York, Nueva Jersey y Maryland. Lamentablemente, un niño falleció en Maryland tras ser arrastrado por la corriente de un drenaje pluvial.
Frontera: El Servicio de Inmigración de Estados Unidos (ICE) inició una campaña de reclutamiento para nuevos agentes, ofreciendo incentivos de hasta 50,000 dólares.
Aeroespacial: La nave Crew Dragon Endeavour de SpaceX despegó con éxito desde Cabo Cañaveral, Florida. Llevaba a cuatro astronautas rumbo a la Estación Espacial Internacional, un día después de que el lanzamiento original se pospusiera debido al mal tiempo.
